If you don't get wonkified brain from the perspective i hear it's good. I can't play ultima because my brain immediately goes into limbo because of the perspective and I feel like I'm Sandra Bullock in gravity.
Im not a zoomer, I can't play VR either I have vertigo problems. The perspective makes me feel like I'm falling off the earth, people have different problems. Make fun of me for my virtigo, but don't call me a zoomer.
7 is kinda garbage if you do the forget of virtue because the game is too easy. Serpent isle is a little better balanced and that expansion pack has a magic keyring
From the perspective of story, freedom and exploration its a masterpiece, but it's clearly from the era of WRPG where combat is just kind of an afterthought and they only thing you have to do is load up your party with the best items you can find.
I started with Ultima Online. But soon after tried U7 exalt version or whatever.
I couldnt believe how good it was and similar to UO, you could literally pick up everything down to a spoon and stash it in your own personal hideout in U7. I had CRATES of shit just hanging out that I flew there on my magic carpet.
I beat Ultima VII at least 10 times and never had anything stolen. I keep hearing about this, but never see any proof. Do you know which npcs are supposed to steal so I can test it?
>Do you know which npcs are supposed to steal so I can test it?
Penumbra and one of the other mages who went sort of mad?
According to old posts, when they start mumbling stuff(text pop up over their heads in yellow) around you, that's when they pickpocket the Avatar. The old posts said he found stolen plot items on them, when he went on a murder spree all over Britannia ,'cause he couldn't beat the game w/o those missing plot items.
Personally i put all plot items on the Avatar, and they kept disappearing on my ass. Eventually i gave up on loading older savegames repeatedly, used the cheat room to get stuff, and teleported straight to plot locations to beat the game.
it's no zelda 2
ultima as a whole feels like a 'you had to be there' franchise

Don't understand why zoomers make such a huge deal about this.

Then I apologize.

If you until end game to do the Forge of Virtue then VII is way better than VII pt 2 imo
The game is easy without the forge of virtue. Train your strength.

i can only choose 7 to 10?
also Snake Isle is very much a different game compared to African Gate.

that's the best way to die if you gave Iolo a triple-crossbow. he will ALWAYS shoot you in the back.

hard to do, cause even with Exult and patches, plot items tend to just disappear in your backpack.
supposedly it's because some plot-vital npcs will pickpocket you when you're near them. but could be memory corruption too.

Thanks. I'll check it out. It may be all of the mages. I read that Niccodemus may be one of them too.
thats awesome (if its thieves)
Hmm I'll check into that thx
Don't hoard a bunch of crap or the game will run out of memeory and crash. You'll begin to see missing ceilings before that
I've yet to play Ultima, but why is VII so ugly? I-VI look much better.
not with that ridiculous camera angle
shits all over modern games, hell every other rpg other than ultima 5, in terms of world complexity.
