I have all the games available on modern systems sans REmake4. In what order should I play them, original release order or by the remakes release order? Also,
are the movies any good and is there any interesting side material?
Honestly play all, both og and remakes are different enough to enjoy
If re1 is too hard for you start with REmake
I would do this >REmake>RE2>RE3>CV>RE4
Then coop >RE5>RE6
Revelations games are really underrated too. Play them after the coop games, or rev1 after re5.
Then the first person ones >7, 8
Also the movies, watch the order in some guide. They are canon and cringekino.
Play Zero if you want to, after REmake or something, I found it kinda mid but do you do.
Also the REmakes, like I said games are too different. It sounds like too much job but re games are not jrpgs, they are mostly 8 hours action games, only re4 and 6 are specially long
Replayed it (both of them) last year and thought it was still great. I'm afraid you just might have gotten too old and senile to enjoy those type of games.
what feeling is your image trying to convey? i merely pointed out it's young or friendless losers that could not experience RE5 with your bestie
have a great weekend with your.. chair
The action era is the best. Jaded classicgays and soulless zoomers both ruined this franchise. We were on a path of progress while still keeping the soul. You morons just had to frick it up.
The incentive structure is completely different between the action and the survival horror games. The classic games have deliberately placed resources of a specific quantity to maintain an intentional level of challenge that punishes for mistakes and rewards risks. Every expenditure of ammunition is a waste that is never guaranteed to help you. In the action games, you have algorithmically determined loot that dead enemies drop, meaning that you are literally incentivized to kill as many things as possible in order to fuel your ability to kill more things. You're not trying to survive against the monsters, the monsters are trying to survive against you. That inversed incentive structure is what separates the action games from horror. They are quite literally the opposite of horror because of that design.
I always knew actionchads were the smartest people in this absolute abomination of a fanbase. Capcom couldn't be more pleased, they have the best consoomer army as well as the largest shill army at their side.
>The action era is the best.
Here's the problem. RE4 is the only good action game, with 5 being ok only in co-op. RE6 (campaign) and the Revelation games are seriously boring as fricking sin.
The Winter's storyline was actually really interesting and brought a breath of fresh air to the franchise. It didn't need to be put to an end so fast, we at least needed one more game with them.
The good thing I found was that it stopped the momentum of constantly going bigger and bigger with more well-equipped soldiers fighting more global threats. 7 and 8 acknowledge the current state of the RE world but allow you to once again you play as someone thrown into the horror against their will, instead of an experienced soldier willfully shipping out to fight monsters.
Mia should have gotten her own game with the villain mushroom hivemind instead of a DLC
This soo much.
I feel every aspect of the Winters storyline was wasted >We have Mia and Rose already explained. >We have the connections that could be a good Umbrella substitute Villain if they make it more like a crime syndicate instead of another evil scientist company. >We have Miranda that have neat background but got wasted in a repetition in the DLC:It really pisses me off in the trailer when we see two Roses, i was expecting one to be Eva and we could see what relationship her and Miranda have there...instead it was just the same motivation of the main game.
And for me i would love that they explored more of Ethan and Eveline after SoR and its implication of mold people can come back: Both got fricked by the same group(and Woman)Both just want simple things(a normal life/family)and both ended together in the mold limbo. Both being resurrected but with their own agenda against the connections while Mia,Rose and a old ass Chris trying to figure out what is happening would be a good spin off IMO.
Maybe the haters are right...RE7 and 8 should have be separated games...then we could have more stuff without the RE lore in the way
REs storyline will become boring again once we start focusing back on Chris and Leon again. the RE movies are boring as frick since we just focus on the main RE cast and it's not interesting since they never progress as characters
Honestly I'd love RE9 to be about Mia since I think you can do a lot more with her character but sadly I think Capcom is too safe to take that interesting route.
It showed that the team can make great horror when set loose, sadly, the games rely more on action than horror. Their needs to be a good mix and 7 had that.
Resident Evil was never good. Ever. None of its incarnations or remakes are novel in their ideas or execution. It was simply the first series to have voice acted zombies and horror and mesmerize people with at the time STUNNING 3D GRAPHICS, which, if we're being honest, were actually only present in prerendered cutscenes
If you see a horrific sight of a woman pinned to the wall through the face by a pitchfork, blood and guts smattering the wall from impact, face gone in a mush of blood and tisue, and your response is >heh, no chivalry here I guess"
you're already past the point of insane
Yeah he's probably already cynical as frick and hardened from RE2 I guess. Would you like him to break down and start crying and swearing revenge everytime something like this happens?
>Would you like him to break down and start crying and swearing revenge everytime something like this happens?
No I already got what I wanted. They changed the line to something less unsympathetic
1. There is no dialogue change, the body was removed in the remake
2. it's an M rated horror game, theres going to be disturbing themes in it
3. YWNBAW

I actually enjoyed the Netflix series and yea I liked blacksker quite a bit. The fricking licker sequence in that one episode? Easily one of my favorite RE moments ever
I worked as a contractor in death scene accident and crime scene etc. it's kinda true, a lot of coworkers develop messed up sense of umor like squeezing brains so that you do not get depressed
it implies that commie mind control isnt as good for women, who are their primary proponents, as they think it is since everyone gets murdured equally horribly
Miranda has so much potential to be a new protagonist that was tied to Spencer, before he went off to Africa. I hate the way they just tied her into everything and just killed her off.
Because capcom is moronic and keep killing villains in one game. Like, just asspull some evil Chris clone as the new villain for a few games, its something numbrella would do
Instead the clone shit was wasted on Ada kek
Resident Evil 3 Nemesis is the best game out of all REs and it's the reason it's as popular as a franchise as it is today. On a personal level, when I was a kid I used to dislike RE4 and held off playing it for the longest time because it ditched tank controls and it felt like it wasn't an RE game. I know it's a moronic take, but it was mine and that's how I used to feel.
Classic RE games are snore worthy corridor fests that control like driving a golf cart around a very tight hedge maze with a nonsense plot. 4 saved the series from the shitheap, and the remakes, barring 4, are infinitely better than the originals to a ludicrous degree. 7 and 8 aren't perfect but they do survival horror and fun gameplay better than any of the pre-4 games.
Resident Evil Operation Raccon City was a based game and I wish there were more games, where I can as Umberalla baddies that are not cancerous pvp shit.
This. Even if the game didn't play the absolute best and the DLC chapters with the heroic spec ops team didn't make sense (They really should have been as bad as the USS and were out to take them out and retrieve the classified info incriminating the government to throw Umbrella under the bus), the game is incredibly interesting and a USS team being dropped in the shit and left to die is a kino setting. Also Lupo is MILF goddess-tier.
I played it several years after it came out, and it must have been patched up, because it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. The characters were the best part, it would be nice to see the rank and file baddies fleshed out more.
It's not a RE game, so I don't pay attention to it.

It's not a meme you half moronic troglodyte, The game was outsourced and wasn't made by the RE team. It's not a actual RE game, seethe and cope.

It was written by the team Capcom used to write every game since 2 with the exception of 3, produced by Mikami, and still had staff from Capcom working on it despite the game itself being made by a company more familiar with Sega’s consoles.
Aside from the obscure RE titles like Outbreak, Dead Aim, etc.. the only "main" RE I do not own is RE Revelations 2. However, the only RE games I ever beaten were OG RE4 and RE4 remake. (Village as well)
Why? Because I fricking hate being chased throughout the game by something that can't be killed by the same means as every one enemy in the game. It's annoying to know I have loads of shotgun rounds that work on any enemy in the game, except it does jack shit to the one enemy that chases you throughout the game or a portion of it
The idea you describe literally only exists in the remakes of 1-4. >b-but original 2 and 3-
Taking down the t-103 and Nemesis is both encouraged and removes them from the game until their next scripted appearance. The t-103 in original 2 is also exclusive to the B scenario for the express reason that he’d be obnoxious on every scenario- something the devs of RE:2, who lack any level or game design understanding, didn’t get. This isn’t a “too hard!!1!1!1” complaint, I’ve 100%’d the game on PS4 and PC. It’s just dull.
I think if nu-Jill was the original and Voth Jill was the replacement there would have been non-stop outrage on Ganker and everyone would be saying it's a troony conspiracy.
RE1 is the best of the classic trilogy.
RE2 is better than 3, 3 itself is remarkably mediocre.
The Gun Survivor storyline is pretty good, so is Dead Aim.
Code Veronica is the best game in the series.
Zero isn’t that bad.
Kamiya was right that Devil May Cry would’ve been a great RE game, and the original Spencer concept was infinitely better than what they went with.
All the remakes are inferior to their original games.
The remake of 3 is pretty fun.
Village > 7.
Absolutely the worst game in the franchise. Gunplay sucks, level design sucks, environments range from unmemorable to the middle of nowhere, a fricking swimming level and a turret section, and the main narrative is miserable in how much it overcomplicates itself.
Dreadful. I love Revelations 2 though.
The wii aiming. Aiming in the wii remake is easy as hell, and really fun. I still have incredibly fun memories of popping head after head with Krauser's bow in mercenaries.
The remake of RE4 renders itself completely invalid for removing semi-destructible doors, forgetting the It boss fight, cutting out the cheesy radio conversations, and removing Salazar's pompous personality for the sake of being generically creepy.
Yeah, all the censorship was useless and did nothing but harm the game. If they kept things true it would have been so much better. I have no idea who Capcom is listening to, but they need to fricking stop.
The original Salazar is probably my favorite Resident Evil villain >Mister Scott, you can give us the girl because you're not worth a penny I'm afraid! >Terrorism... isn't that a popular word these days.... >Where's the satisfying sound of one's impalement..?
I think RE5 is a great game and the AI isn't nearly as bad as people claim it to be, it takes a bit of time to get used to it (1 or 2 replays) I'll admit that but it's not unpredictable or useless as I see most people claim. Then again I haven't played any other RE titles so I can't compare it to others, but as its own game it's pretty damn tight.
Also I love the movies, 1,2,4 and 5 in particular.
Mia is like Ada Wong done well, a secret trained spy who fell in love with a simple guy, married him and had a baby with him
I want a game about Mia putting those skills to save Ethan, would be a nice goodbye to the Winters trilogy >But Rosemary
Use both characters to save him then but characters will be too old if they use teen Rose
There is barely any game of a wife saving her husband

Mia has potential as a character but the games don't acknowledge her villain status enough
I still have hopes about Mia being in RE9...it wont be about the Winters but her helping Chris in dealing with The Connections. It would be extra ludo if in RE9 you play as Jill and Mia.
Jill have issues with mind controlling due to Wesker shenanigans in RE5 and Mia worked in a mind controlling B.O.W.
Jill would be hostile at first but due to both talking about her pasts and choices during the game(also a good way to show flashbacks of both Jill past with Wesker and Mia past with the connections)both would bond as allies.
its pretty much killing two brds with one stone situation.
[...]
Mia has potential as a character but the games don't acknowledge her villain status enough
That would be such a solid game damn anon go bang on capcom’s door until they hire you
Man the more i think the more i feel how wasted Mia character is.
I always remember when she tells Chris that Miranda did experiments on her...what this could mean? With both having interacted in the past you could make some interesting stuff there...Maybe whatever Miranda did with Mia is the reason she abandoned Rose?Maybe the experiments was a way to Miranda take over Mia and raise Rose?I mean if you think about it,Why Miranda in the DLC would still want to use Rose to bring Eva Back if Miranda herself doesnt have a body in the real world?Maybe Mia was the answer you know?
See i might thinking too much about it but you can the potential right?
Yea that’s my biggest complaint with Village overall is that it introduced so much potential cool shit, could’ve easily had like 4 DLCs based on characters introduced and expanded on in that game that would’ve been really interesting, but capcom just somehow never saw it. Essentially replaying the game as Rose was basically the least neat thing they could’ve done and i say that as someone that liked the DLC
RE7 isnt good, fighting copy pasted enemies in hallways, most of the puzzles aren't good and people only remember it because PT got canceled and they needed something to fill the void.
I think realism has been a hindrance to Resident Evil and that it should go back to being slightly cartoony and unrealistic, especially the Revelation titles. In fact, I'd say they should make Switch specific Resident Evil games.
I've only recently played RE4 and I think it's shit.
Not as bad as RE5 or RE6 but the downfall was already apparent then. Just another boring third person shooter.
Except it's not just "another" third person shooter, by fricking definition. RE4 WAS the precursor and a major influence to a lot of modern TPS games, but the fact still remains (and this is what's really ironic) that very few other game actually play like it, besides RE5. Either way, blame the shit that spawned after the fact, much like "Soulslikes".
I can believe that.
When I re-bought the game for PS4 I spend hours and hours in Raid Mode (have 3 raid trophies locked), and didn't play a minute of story mode lol
Revelations 1 raid was kino, levels and rpg stats was so cool.
Revelations raid 2 had smaller stages, but I remember playing with some Weskergay always unlocking locks with his wiener kek
Shooting things is the worst part of Resident Evil. I have way more fun exploring the crazy environments and solving the crazy puzzles, and enemies are more interesting when they're obstacles to outmanuever rather than outright kill. These games become so tedious when they devolve into janky arena shooters.
I also usually won't replay a RE game for like 4 or 5 years until I forget everything so it can feel fresh again. I have zero interest in mastering these games, I just like the feeling of fresh interior exploration.
Sorry, but you're wrong about shooting being shitty in all RE titles. Play RE4 on the wii, specifically mercenaries mode, and prepare yourself for one of the best arcade experiences ever.
RE4 Wii was the first one I played and it was okay, then I played REmake and it blew it out of the water. I didn't say the shooting was shitty though, I said it was the worst part. I'd rather play with any other part of RE's general formula than the shooting in any given game, and that includes 4 where sections like the garden maze and sewers were among my favorite parts and the house ambush remains one of my least favorite in all of RE.
Gameplay is fun, you get 3 different campaigns and I really liked the art style than the photo realistic graphics of the new RE Engine. It's very cinematic, maybe a little too much at times but I can look past it as a part of the ridiculousness of 6.
"survival horror" isn't a real genre. It's just an adventure game. Like how Alone in the Dark is an adventure game.
I don't know why people got tricked so hard by that marketing gimmick.
Not much horror anymore, 7 was rad and they could have kept that going. It just made their japanese fans shit themselves, but at least Capcom mocked them with the Village puppet show. That was funny.
Yep, it's basically an action adventure deviation with a greater emphasis on adventure. The action part being there to inform tension and anxiety makes it ever so slightly different in its goals, but in essence it's the same damn thing as something like Zelda.
Every time Chris shows up in Ethan's games the story and gameplay gets worse. Village turning into a Call of Duty campaign before the end being the most egregious.
>Village turning into a Call of Duty campaign before the end being the most egregious.
That was based and fun taking out swarms of Lycan's as Chris, yeah buddy.
>Village turning into a Call of Duty campaign
God I wish the Far Cry team would make a survival-horror iteration. As much as like Capcom, the RE team hasn't really been relevant in the 20 years.
You're the type of homosexual who jerked off "running and hiding from sp00py invincible grandpa", right? Every single resident evil has turned into a slaughterhouse past the halfway point
>You're the type of homosexual who jerked off "running and hiding from sp00py invincible grandpa", right?
If by that you mean I thought that RE7 was infinitely better than RE5 and 6? Then yes.
At the very least have the main character take part in the end-game slaughterhouse by using what equipment or skills he's accumulated over time. Don't have a secondary character abruptly undermine the entire struggle leading up to that point by saying he could have wrapped up every single encounter that Ethan just survived in a fraction of the time if he wasn't sitting around twiddling his thumbs for most of the game.
You're entitled to your opinion. I thought RE5 was decent fun if you had a friend to goof around with. Especially the first Wesker fight where it's just you and your friend taking turns having a laugh at getting your ass kicked. But as a singleplayer experience I don't think it really stands up as well on its own compared to other titles.
RE feels like one of the rare franchises that understands how short timer actual horror has. In most of the games that switch to action focus is very well timed.
the HD version of the REmake is garbage because every single pre rendered background was just upscaled poorly and the artwork is muddy and disgusting looking, so emulating the gamecube version is still better
the RE2 remake was good for a first time playthrough, but quickly becomes obvious it's just to appeal to westerners with its huge list of cut content and poor art design; things like the kendo shop sign being soulless are true and that mark is all over the game
RE3 remake was a cashgrab shit out in a year
RE4 remake is worthless when compared to the HD project mod + re4tweaks that restores all of the original gamecube things that were soulful like the original game specific depth of field effects and such
RE4 remake Ada though is the hottest model they've put in a game and the porn is top notch, don't care about her in-game
Jill being turned evil was a giant disrespect for her character
RE5 & 6 are both terrible
>Resident Evil (Remake), VII, and Village are the only worthwhile entries in the franchise
Nothing is worse than a script written with the express intent of trying to be so bad it's funny or play it off as being ironic, and that's predominantly all the majority of the titles do. Pair that with the shitty characters and their general lack of charisma, as well as the exponential decrease in dedication to horror, and you've got yourself the perfect formula for a dogshit franchise.
I do hope we get a game that brings the entire gang together though. nu-Jill, Claire, Chris, Leon, Ada, etc... all working together. Hopefully it will let us play as Not-Wesker and murder every single one of them.
I love the Hound Wolf squad in 8. It's nice to see a unit that actually knows what they're up against and are properly prepared instead of yet another >"oh my God what is that?!" >everybody but the main character(s) die
>the story in resident evil games has always been garbage
Yes, for the most part anyway. It worked in the original game because you genuinely didn't know what was happening. Then they just kept recycling the same general story beats and archetypes, so it felt like playing a slightly different game but wearing the other game's rotten, decaying skin. >only time it's entertaining is when it's comedic
Which is never. Japanese cannot write humor.
>Founded and brought to prominence through suspect tactics in Revelations >top funder was Tricell in 5 >tried to take Chris and Sheva off their mission in 5 >hid the whereabouts of Moira and her message from Barry despite having it for six months >let Chris disappear for nearly a year >botched the E-001 operation and just monitored her for 3 years
It was pretty obvious in retrospect.
I like how the villians turn into giant grotesque eighty foot tall eyeball monsters with no thought to how life is going to be afterwards if they kill leon or chris for example
No?
Spencer’s goal was never realized, though I early drafts of 4 he was literally immortal.
Marcus’ Queen Leech was just a leech that ate his brain, so it also took his God complex (that’s the narrative reason for why he looks like kind of like Jesus).
Alexia actually succeeded. She could transform, but still kept all aspects of herself she thought were valuable.
Wesker also succeeded. His plan in 5 was to force evolution by separating the chaff, turning them into blob monsters, not himself.
And Miranda is pretty normal, but she doesn’t want to take over the world.
The batting average is pretty bad if only 2 of them turned out "okay" and Wesker is a test tube baby (the thousand+ other ones were frick ups and discarded) engineered specifically for it, so that hardly counts does it? Bring him back anyway
Honestly, my real unpopular opinion is that people are blindsided by nostalgia for RE5. A lot of the levels and encounters SUCK in that game. But it did give us more RE4 combat WITH coop so it kind of balances out.
Re was never a horror series but a goofy one but they killed that part of the game to with all these gayass serious remakes
And I'm not paying you any money for remake
I will say the way the zombies moan and groan in the RE1 remake for the gamecube is really good, they're the only creepy sounding zombies I've ever heard in a game
Unpopular opinion is capcom now is homosexual company who lacks any creative and willing to take risk, all they make now are either shit remakes or keep milking normie series
Mother fricker they've tried for years to do something new but no one ever bites. They make another remake and normoids lap it up straight out of the slop bucket.
>They make another remake and normoids lap it up straight out of the slop bucket.
because nowadays the only good games are remakes. A politically correct enviroment stunts creativity so no new story or IP worth a damn gets created
That game was unironically fun at the beginning.
...
...and then they intruduced Savage Gauntlet, or whatever the frick this was called, where you play 'high' levels with people who already beat the game (not new players) only to realise how fricking bad most of those players are.
So I stopped playing.
But like I said, it was fun. A scene where hundreds of velociraptor-like dinos where fallng down the skyscraper was kino.
I was playing it on Series S, also thanks to game pass. I think it's still there. So, if oyu have a PC in that range, I think you could play it. I honestly can't say if I've seen a single slowdown or glitch, even with my shitty internet connection. Yes, this is PvP vs dinos game where, if the game can't find real players, will replace them with AI to fill the team. It's definitely not Dino Crisis, there are only few maps, the game becomes repetitive really soon, but in some weird way it was fun.
Frick you, everybody. Especially that anon who mentioned the game. I'm re-downloading it again tonight to get those 3 remaining chievos.
>Unpopular opinion
More like, moronic and clueless ESL opinion. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Exoprimal and Pragmata are recent new IPs. Do you also consider Ghost n Goblins Resurrection or Dragon's Dogma 2 "milking"? What the frick do you even consider to be a "normie" series and why exactly should it matter? >lacks any creative and willing to take risk
Yeah, as opposed to, uh...
After Resident Evil 7, 8, and the 4 REmake there is no reason to make a non-VR Resident Evil game ever again, and the series should be exclusively VR from here forward.
you arent ready for my real opinions
remake 2 sucks
remake 3 sucks (not controversial)
remake 4 sucks
og 4 is overrated
5 sucks
6 rocks
7 sucks
8 sucks
the chronicles rail shooters are awful
1 is better than 2 is better than 3
Wesker was a better character in 1 than in Code veronica onward with the stupid Matrix shit.
All the girls in the remakes are fishfaces or look like trannies
and to top all of it, this is my real not bait opinion
Leon is a terrible character, the series went to shit because of 4, claire saved 2
Ada is a great character
The "relationship" between them is so forced its unbearable
And don't fricking @ me with your 4 cope >Muh [5/6/7/8/0/cvx] killed the series not muh 11/10 lol so randum erryone gone to bingo xDDDD
4 is when they decided to go a different direction, killing the seires.
4 was doomed to frick the series from the start >Muh haunted mansion so spooky >Muh black fog so creepy
They went so off the fricking tracks they made DMC.
If they "wanted to do something different" make a new fricking IP
this. if the re4 remake made re4 closer to re2 in terms of "horror" then it would've been perfect
That's a typical cope aswell
RE4 was part of the Capcom 5 on gamecube, it sold so badly that Capcom broke the exlusivity deal and ported it to PS2 and then Wii later.
RE4 sold worse on those 3 platforms than RE2 did on PS1 alone.
RE1 sucks
RE4 is the best
RE2/3 are ok but they're mediocre puzzle/horror games
RE is even worse than Zelda for the trope that "boss has giant glowing eye[s] as weakpoint"
>What's your unpopular Resident Evil opinion?
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is worse than Resident Evil Zero and it started the franchise's path down the wrong direction.
Brad by far, everything else is just beretta larp and deagle larp.
Also the beretta 92fs is way too fricking heavy for a 9mm and I blame Resident Evil for its continued popularity
I wish it was canon, because the only good way to do a gay character is to never mention his sexuality and for that to never factor into anything he does.
I don't get the aversion to first person. Maybe if you're Japanese or something where that viewpoint barely exists outside of Wizardry clones, but while I prefer third person I have nothing really against first person either.
Resident Evil 5 is my most replayed Resident Evil. I also enjoyed the game so much that I have it on 4 different systems and have beaten it on all of them.
RE5 is kino
RE4 is boring AF
They should bring back Albert Wesker. While at that, also bring back Spencer.
They should make at least one last game with Jill and Chris partnering up against Wesker like with RE1. Kinda of a send off.
RE3 is my favourite. My 8yo self played the shit out of it
>have a troony script already sitting around >buy IP for free marketing >change a few names so your troony script "fits" >WOOOW WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DIDNT LIKE IT?
resident evil?
All I'm going to say is: >Hold backward to run forward >Nevermind, camera change. >Get over this obstacle we didn't let you see >Hold right to run forward. >Nevermind, camera change >Hold forward to run forward. >Nevermind, camera change >Hold backward to run forward. >Nevermind, camera change >Get over this obstacle we didn't let you see... >Oops, you spent too much time running in the wrong directions because you were holding one input to keep running in one direction instead of changing between many different inputs to keep running in one direction, so you died because this section has a time limit
It's unbelievable how incredibly little the designers of RE6 understood about why the camera was used in certain ways in the franchise. It feels like the times when the camera works were entirely accidental, because if they knew what they were doing, they couldn't possibly think that certain parts of the game were acceptable design. That, or there were separate teams making different parts of the campaigns and nobody ever communicated between the teams.
I like the original RE1 more than the remake.
The pacing is a lot smoother, I like the setting more, there's fewer obnoxious gimmicks, and I find the cheesy voice acting more entertaining than the remake's competent but bland voice acting.
I would even go further and say the RE1 remake is a really bad starting point for newcomers. It will give you a bad impression of what classic RE is actually like.
And I was legitimately the only person on Ganker to say this for a long time, it used to be just taken as a given that the remake was objectively better and you should play it first.
Resident Evil died when Capcom scrapped the Flagship Studios story.
Resident Evil Director's Cut is on par, or even slightly better, than the REmake.
RE4 onwards is not Resident Evil anymore.
If the game is not about the RC survivors it's not Resident Evil.
If the game is not "solve puzzle to progress" it's not Resident Evil.
The SD Perry books have a better story than anything RE after 3.
resident evil's puzzles suck for the most part
I was immensely disappointed in re8 when notes were highlighted on the sheet music as you played the piano
Resident Evil was and and still is Metal Gear but horror/zombie influence rather than JUST action influence. Just replace Escape from New York with a Romero movie.
Over the shoulder AND fixed camera should be an option, the first remake was kino and 4 OG is fun but could do with some iteration that pays homage.
My favorite is 4, 1 Remake, 5 and 6 with a friend and Revelations and yes exactly for why you think.
I still respect the originals and do annual runs.
I prefer the classic style huns with backtracking over adventures taking you to new areas. Backtracking means a new enemy gimmick and I fricking love that.
I'm surprised to see Zero so high on anons' lists.
I thought Ganker hated it and that I'm the only one who liked it, because I usually get angry replies when I say it's my 3rd favorite.
Well I'm not one of them. What do you like about Zero because for me, the game begins to fall apart FAST after the train section.
tbh even with the train section, the game just starts off fricking weird anyway with the singer and such. Its the same weirdness that was in code veronica with the crossdressing dude
>What do you like about Zero
It's...really similar to first game, I don't know how to say it. Probably because the background; Umbrelly Training facility is kinda similar to mansion from RE1
I like how hard the game is. On normal it's easy, but on hard is (in my opinion) way harder than REmake. Leaving the items on floors was a great idea and I don't know why it didn't appear in the later games. I can understand the hate for not having item boxes, but this...
Also, I like the fact that it has more bugs / mutant animals enemies. I like them all. Except for those frogs; even after beatign the game so many times (and getting platinum btw) I still have no fricking idea what triggers their jump from that water near the end of the game.
''Queen that needs sunlight'' was an annoying fight, though.
RE0 was always great. I have no idea why Ganker hates it. my only guess is that it's more hard than most RE games. resource management is actually important in 0 unlike RE2 for example.
RE6 is on average pretty shit but the end of Chris’s campaign is so good it redeems the entire game to being fine and worth playing
CV is peak Resident Evil
I want Wesker to come back I don’t care how

Chris's ending has, more than anything else, convinced me that he really is, in fact, literally gay. and thats a good thing because Piers deserves it
Code Veronica is true and proper BIOHAZARD 3, always was and always will be. Last Escape and Gun Survivor are both mere midquels, alongside with Outbreaks and 4-D Executor. Last Escape should never had a 3, that should've been Code Veronica's number in the title.
Need an RE game about somebody who was going to be experimented on by Umbrella surviving an outbreak inside one of their facilities. The game would have a system where you can find upgrades that give you new powers at the cost of mutating you. But you can choose to not take any of these mutations, kind of like how Prey 2017 does it. Picking mutations would change different encounters and also make security systems mark you as not human anymore.
The game would have three endings based on how many mutations you have: >very few or none: good ending, you escape the facility and now have a second chance at life outside of umbrella's clutches >moderate amount: you escape, but are now a "carrier" for one of the viruses and inadvertently cause a new outbreak in a different city >mutation maxxer: you transform into the final boss for a different resident evil protagonist and must fight them
8 is the second worst RE behinid Revelations, mostly because of combat - what worked for 7 with its non-action approach to many parts of the game absolutely doesn't for work for a game people claimed was "just like RE4"
I'll still finish it but there is nothing satisfying about combat in this game. As was the case with Revelations, it should be illegal to make enemies borderline unresponsive to attacks. To Revelations's creadit, it at least didn't have them spaz out every half a second so that you cannot aim at the head. Don't even get me started about this shit boss whose regular attacks would routinely go through geometry (I'm not talking about his AoE rain attacks either), especially since you must stick close to him or else he'd never reveal his hitbox.
If they can't design good combat, they shouldn't release RE games at all
The remakes are worse than the originals in basically every way, atmosphere, art direction, characters, dialogue, music, even gameplay. Only RE1 sort of comes close but still I think the original is much more charming in a lot of ways.
Piss and cum stains is what you always get when you have a game where all navigation is authored. You have no jump mechanic, so you can't just get on top of any object that looks solid. So, they need to mark every point that you can traverse manually. With better graphics quality the problem is made worse because there's more clutter. A game from 2005 has so few polygons and shaders that even with authored navigation it's obvious what the only manually determined accessible path is.
In other words, piss and cum stain player direction is a shitty piece of necessary evil caused by shitty restrictive cinematic design that removes player freedom for the sake of visuals, ironically causing a degrading of visuals.
RE6 had the best action mechanics of the entire series. I don't care if you think it's silly to roll around on the ground while shooting a gun, it's fun! It's fricking FUN and sometimes it's also COOL!
WTF did RE4 have on RE6 in terms of goofy action supremacy UNIRONIC gunplay!? Not a GODDAMN thing and I tell you what, I'll frick your mom too!
its nice seeing people finally warm up to 6.
its biggest issues are the cutscene qtes but they arent THAT bad
5 is worse in every single regard and Im tired of people saying its better than 6.
i remember capcom saying 5 would be yet scarier than 4 and even have a sunscreen mechanic as youd be in the hot sun alot, before releasing forced co op slop. at least your ai partners in 6 are invincible.
maybe RE4 had worse shooting mechanics. but it had >better enemies >better areas >better pacing >better story (its an RE game so it doesnt count for much)

RE6 played like absolute fricking garbage. The controls feel sloppy and the feedback on animations and other visual effects are some of the worst in the entire series. And no, RE4 did not have worse shooting mechanics. You cannot say shit like that when guns in RE6 feel like wet noodles to which enemies barely react. I feel like slapping every one of you c**ts who are incapable of discerning what makes a good action game.
He isnt wrong though. RE6 does have interesting mechanics and it shines in Mercenaries but it's still zoomed in way too close and sluggish. The healing system is also just moronic as frick and it didnt need to be that way, it felt very not resident evil
I can knife you with ease while you're spazzing out on the ground. That's something which you can't do in RE6 because the knife hitbox while standing is complete shit, for no good reason.
RE6 is a really weird entity where it's garbage in the most inexplicable, but it tried really hard to be something that doesn't really exist anywhere else. As a result, it has accumulated an army of unrepentent copers who see the unique diamond in the pile of shit and are willing to shovel down to get to it. Very strange phenomenon.
That's a great way to explain it, actually. RE6 has a few ideas that, with some polish, could make for a really cool and unique action game of its own. The wannabe Michael Bay over the top action shit was never something that bothered me. It's just the execution behind was completely fricked.
RE6 is bad because the campaigns have awful pacing filled to the brim with gimmicks and quick time events that prevents you from interacting with the game's base combat system.
RE6 mercenaries is a completely different game that's really fun because you can actually play the game there. Combat in the resident evil series peaked with 6 and unfortunately it's stuck in a game with terrible campaigns.
Some people are pretty quick to blame RE's dark age on 4 though, and God knows how many people regurgitate the tired "you can't like 4 and hate 5" rhetoric while ignoring the massive elephant in the room with that comparison. Campaign design took an absolute nosedive when Capcom designed them to be crashed through with a buddy, a problem that 4 doesn't really have and 6 sort of tried to address with Ada's campaign, albeit to such overwhelming kickback that they patched in co-op anyways.
Early RE plays like shit and everyone has nostalgia glasses on, RE7 and RE8 were another step into a wrong direction but the new generation loves FPS slop.
It's time for Chris and Leon to retire. There is literally nothing more they can do with either character that would be interesting. There are so many one-shot characters that deserve to come back and star in a game.
Demake 2 sucks and so does almost every other modern RE, RE 4 was good but a terrible Resident Evil game, and Code Veronica + Outbreak duology were the last true Resident Evil games.
I don't care for the gameplay in any of them other than 4. Haven't tried the latest but all the rest seemed meh. Just don't care for puzzles when they involve running back and forth through the same areas a few dozen times because you're not sure what unique item you'll need.
RE6 would be a great game if they made every room bigger and upped the enemy count so it can bring the gun-fu energy of the Mercenaries mode to the main game.
I like re0 more than re1, in fact it's my second favorite of the series
I have all the games available on modern systems sans REmake4. In what order should I play them, original release order or by the remakes release order? Also,
are the movies any good and is there any interesting side material?
Honestly play all, both og and remakes are different enough to enjoy
If re1 is too hard for you start with REmake
I would do this
>REmake>RE2>RE3>CV>RE4
Then coop
>RE5>RE6
Revelations games are really underrated too. Play them after the coop games, or rev1 after re5.
Then the first person ones
>7, 8
Also the movies, watch the order in some guide. They are canon and cringekino.
Play Zero if you want to, after REmake or something, I found it kinda mid but do you do.
Also the REmakes, like I said games are too different. It sounds like too much job but re games are not jrpgs, they are mostly 8 hours action games, only re4 and 6 are specially long
But RE1 is easier than Remake and faster too. You can finish RE1 faster than REmake
Replaying 1 right now and I want to kill myself. It did not age well
Replayed it (both of them) last year and thought it was still great. I'm afraid you just might have gotten too old and senile to enjoy those type of games.
based
You really like residente evil
>Resident Evil DS S+
get real nerd
People will attack me for this, but I really liked
and Dead Aim.
Darkside Chronicles was much better and had a better upgrade system and the better stories ofcourse.
Shit taste
All that shit 2 tiers over residente evil 4.
Resistance on the same tier than remake
>zoomer or very lonely person without friends to coop with
sad
real list time.
>co-op kino rated low
I can tell who was not born back then or had no friends lmao
I-I-it just didnt feel like a RE
what feeling is your image trying to convey? i merely pointed out it's young or friendless losers that could not experience RE5 with your bestie
have a great weekend with your.. chair
yes I played it in single player only. It didnt felt like a horror game at all with or without a real coop partner
RIP and [F] my man, wish I had time to replay it with frens from here now

The action era is the best. Jaded classicgays and soulless zoomers both ruined this franchise. We were on a path of progress while still keeping the soul. You morons just had to frick it up.
>The action era of a survival horror franchise was the best
Just say you don't like horror games
I do like horror games. But Resident Evil always had action in its DNA. RE1 is more action packed than 95% of horror games ever made.
Having a escape sequence doesn't make it fricking die hard.
>RE6 (campaign) ... are seriously boring as fricking sin
You played single players, dint ya...heheh...I can tell...
I can't believe Ashley turned evil in that movie.
This soo much.
I feel every aspect of the Winters storyline was wasted
>We have Mia and Rose already explained.
Honestly I'd love RE9 to be about Mia since I think you can do a lot more with her character but sadly I think Capcom is too safe to take that interesting route.
>they never progress as characters
>except that time Leon became an alcoholic and started killing civilians
Yeah and he become boring. he lost all his personality he became Chris in RE6 with the same character arc
Resident Evil 7 was too gross, and that ruined the game.
It showed that the team can make great horror when set loose, sadly, the games rely more on action than horror. Their needs to be a good mix and 7 had that.
The RE7 DLC that's just an escape the room is the funnest part of that game
Resident Evil was never good. Ever. None of its incarnations or remakes are novel in their ideas or execution. It was simply the first series to have voice acted zombies and horror and mesmerize people with at the time STUNNING 3D GRAPHICS, which, if we're being honest, were actually only present in prerendered cutscenes
Palworld is better than RE4
YOU are small time
>What's your unpopular Resident Evil opinion?
That they were right to change this line because it's stupid and makes Leon look like a psychopath.
but he is a psychopath. didn't you play RE2 where he's a police officer?
og re4 got an update today. i wonder what else they changed.
He meant that they removed it in the remake, schizo. Small updates are for making sure it still works on modern systems
I imagine you have to make quips like this to hold on to your humanity after seeing hellish shit like this and not go le insane.
If you see a horrific sight of a woman pinned to the wall through the face by a pitchfork, blood and guts smattering the wall from impact, face gone in a mush of blood and tisue, and your response is
>heh, no chivalry here I guess"
you're already past the point of insane
Yeah he's probably already cynical as frick and hardened from RE2 I guess. Would you like him to break down and start crying and swearing revenge everytime something like this happens?
>Would you like him to break down and start crying and swearing revenge everytime something like this happens?
No I already got what I wanted. They changed the line to something less unsympathetic
Based revisionist. We should always strive to be better.
History is (re)written by the winners. I see that now.
I kneel, King.

Netflix Wesker is actually pretty good.
I don't know if I should compliment you for so effectively triggering Ganker or mock you for being so thoroughly demolished.
Wow he's literally me
kys homosexual
> sex-discrimination-1024x576.jpg
I can't believe that the Los Illuminados are more progressive than us. Time to dilate with a plaga.
I hope they also change his gender to a strong independent trans woman in next remake
You're not funny.
He's a psychopath. He made a silly quip while killing zombies in the white house (Infinite Darkness).
it implies that commie mind control isnt as good for women, who are their primary proponents, as they think it is since everyone gets murdured equally horribly
So burning a cow with one liner its ok in remake
the first person re games are non canon
RE5 is fricking kino and the series was never the same after Wesker died
Its true. When the best villain dies, so does the franchise.
I like the horror+action formula. I don't think it's bad and i want it to be this way forever.
Just needs a tad more horror. Margarite yelling "IM GONNA KILL YOU" over and over was so loud and instant it made me jump.
I know it's a moronic take, but it was mine and that's how I used to feel.
>because it ditched tank controls
it still had tank controls
Jill, Claire, Ada, Ashley and Sheva all frick shotas, NOT dogs.
OP said unpopular
Classic RE games are snore worthy corridor fests that control like driving a golf cart around a very tight hedge maze with a nonsense plot. 4 saved the series from the shitheap, and the remakes, barring 4, are infinitely better than the originals to a ludicrous degree. 7 and 8 aren't perfect but they do survival horror and fun gameplay better than any of the pre-4 games.
>like driving a golf cart around a very tight hedge maze with a nonsense plot
if anyone needs me i'll be in /agdg/
NO IT WAS MY IDEA FIRST!
steve and billy are cool
Resident Evil Operation Raccon City was a based game and I wish there were more games, where I can as Umberalla baddies that are not cancerous pvp shit.
Wish they had some references to them
God i love lady hunk
She's cool
Based, I wish we had more stuff with mommy Lupo
>chest rig holds sidearm mags
I have no idea what you mean, I'm not /k/ enough to know, I'm a rule of cool/coom Chad. Only wish her T&A were bigger
Me too. Me too..
chestrig pushing up breasts like a tactical corset is a genius bit of design work
Here's to you, blessed anons
Based, Lupo CHADS rise up
There's sadly not much stuff with her. Some good cosplays too but I don't really care for that.
Lupo was Hot as frick, imagine a fight between Lupo and jill
I played it several years after it came out, and it must have been patched up, because it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. The characters were the best part, it would be nice to see the rank and file baddies fleshed out more.
Code Veronica is garbage, and the only reason chuds latch onto it is because of contrarianism and "muh heckin epic transphobia!"
It's not even a real RE game
>only reason chuds latch onto it is because of contrarianism and "muh heckin epic transphobia!"
What?
Claire calls the secondary antagonist a "crossdressing freak." Chuds LOVE to obsess over this singular line.
Yeah, I know what happens, I just haven't seen "chuds" clinging on to it.
thats because they're all in his head.
I'm in a shit ton of RE groups on social media, I seriously haven't seen it or there's something I missed.
You enter a CV thread, its there every time. You just don’t pay attention.
It's not a RE game, so I don't pay attention to it.
What is this meme?
It's not a meme you half moronic troglodyte, The game was outsourced and wasn't made by the RE team. It's not a actual RE game, seethe and cope.
It was written by the team Capcom used to write every game since 2 with the exception of 3, produced by Mikami, and still had staff from Capcom working on it despite the game itself being made by a company more familiar with Sega’s consoles.
Don't care, game's still ass.
I like tank controls and the fixed camara
NuJill looks better than any previous design
Is it really an unpopular opinion?
I think both jills looks great. Only jill i didnt fill so much was revelations
I think if nu-Jill was the original and Voth Jill was the replacement there would have been non-stop outrage on Ganker and everyone would be saying it's a troony conspiracy.
>What's your unpopular Resident Evil opinion?
there isnt a single bad mainline resident evil game, and most of the spinoffs are good too
RE1 is the best of the classic trilogy.
Thoughts on Revelations?
Absolutely the worst game in the franchise. Gunplay sucks, level design sucks, environments range from unmemorable to the middle of nowhere, a fricking swimming level and a turret section, and the main narrative is miserable in how much it overcomplicates itself.
Dreadful. I love Revelations 2 though.
>Zero isn’t that bad
>All the remakes are inferior to their original games.
>The remake of 3 is pretty fun.
>Village > 7.
unfathomably based
Its all true
none of the games are good. none of them. the girls are hot though
Resident Evil 7 is the best Resident evil game ever and I've played all of them except the outbreak titles
huh really? Im the other way around.
whats your second favorite RE?
Resident Evil 4 for the wii specifically
what do you like about the wii version?
The original Salazar is probably my favorite Resident Evil villain
>Mister Scott, you can give us the girl because you're not worth a penny I'm afraid!
Mia should have gotten her own game with the villain mushroom hivemind instead of a DLC
Mia is like Ada Wong done well, a secret trained spy who fell in love with a simple guy, married him and had a baby with him
I want a game about Mia putting those skills to save Ethan, would be a nice goodbye to the Winters trilogy
>But Rosemary
Use both characters to save him then but characters will be too old if they use teen Rose
There is barely any game of a wife saving her husband
Mia has potential as a character but the games don't acknowledge her villain status enough
Oh yeah, she was for sure up to some shit. You don't get "kidnapped" by someone you used to work with in the same bio-terror organization.
Mia is based, is the only re character who became a mother
Weird to think she was literally fricking a mold copy version of her husband
>and NO MUSHROOMS
That made me lol.
And open city survival game set in raccoon city with a 48h time limit to escape before the nuke would be fun.
like dead rising meets RE?
I love exploring and taking my time too much to enjoy a 48 hour time limit. My first playthrough of re4 remake was 20 hours.
That’s just it, I’ve never taken 48h to complete a re, I always slow walk 20h hours too.
I like Zero, it's my 3rd fav RE game.
I think that Code Veronica is dogshit.
I like 2 and 3 better than 4.
RE5 is a lot of dumb fun but its quality is 100% determined by whether or not you have someone to play it with
I'm not a fan of the inventory system. And I don't like how body armor takes up a slot space.
Yeah, there's not much defense for an egg taking up the same amount of space as a grenade launcher
>that dangling sock
hrhebdgdhgrrrr
I will never admit it unprompted but the first Revelations game is the most fun I've had with an RE game and my most replayed one.
If anyone's missed Revelations and has SexBox, now's the time to buy it.
Anons, redpill me on ORC, I've never played it.
Is it mostly multiplayer game, and how many DLCs are there?
its fun for 4 dollars I guess. most of the """dlc"''' is just extra guns to do more damage
beware most of the enemies are literal bullet sponges designed around a halfway competent team of 4 to be shooting at it
Anyone who says RE5 is fine should be purged from this earth
5 was the last good one.
All remakes are trash.
I'm still supporting Capcom despite them making the only good VR games with shitty developers and not on PC because I want them to make RE:Outbreak.
There is nothing wrong with releasing action oriented RE games that are more third person shooter than horror game.
RE4 was awful. Last true RE was Outbreak 2.
In truth, I'm not sure if that's unpopular, don't really interact much with RE fans
>he's still samegayging
jesus, get a life
still not an argument
proof?
It should be fricking obvious. All the same writing style and the post clearly doesn't warrant 30 replies.
I think 4, 5 and 6 are great and is what got me into the series.
What do you like about 6? I just started playing it for the first time and I'm having a lot of fun with Mercenaries. The story is pretty bad though.
This game serie is a mess since Mikami's departure.
Every time Chris shows up in Ethan's games the story and gameplay gets worse. Village turning into a Call of Duty campaign before the end being the most egregious.
I love his VA, sounded like he was legit batshit.
>Village turning into a Call of Duty campaign before the end being the most egregious.
That was based and fun taking out swarms of Lycan's as Chris, yeah buddy.
I feel like if they could have taken on the entire village with mass firepower in ten minutes then they should have done so in the first ten minutes
Then you'd have nothing left, I just think it was too empty. There should have been more survivors that interacted with you and vis versa.
I think 5 is a good game
I vehemently dislike the concept of co-op in Resident Evil so I do not, but I get that people aren't as allergic to that as I am.
In most of the games that switch to action focus is very well timed.
resident evil 5 is really fun and would've been a fondly remembered game if it didn't force an AI partner on you
RE6 >> RE8 > RE7
the HD version of the REmake is garbage because every single pre rendered background was just upscaled poorly and the artwork is muddy and disgusting looking, so emulating the gamecube version is still better
the RE2 remake was good for a first time playthrough, but quickly becomes obvious it's just to appeal to westerners with its huge list of cut content and poor art design; things like the kendo shop sign being soulless are true and that mark is all over the game
>Jill being turned evil was a giant disrespect for her character
Yeah, I wasn't impressed with that either
>unironically use of soul
yeah ur opinion is shit and you're just a contrarian.
>rendered background was just upscaled poorly
>They've lost the original files of the backgrounds
I can't stop being mad at them.
It's nice to see a unit that actually knows what they're up against and are properly prepared instead of yet another
>"oh my God what is that?!"
>everybody but the main character(s) die
the story in resident evil games has always been garbage. the only time it's entertaining is when it's comedic
>the story in resident evil games has always been garbage
Yes, for the most part anyway. It worked in the original game because you genuinely didn't know what was happening. Then they just kept recycling the same general story beats and archetypes, so it felt like playing a slightly different game but wearing the other game's rotten, decaying skin.
>only time it's entertaining is when it's comedic
Which is never. Japanese cannot write humor.
>What's your unpopular Resident Evil opinion?
Piers is an underrated RE character and was the one of the only redeeming factors of re6's story.
The BSAA (which Chris founded) becoming evil in RE8 is an asspull.
>Founded and brought to prominence through suspect tactics in Revelations
>top funder was Tricell in 5
>tried to take Chris and Sheva off their mission in 5
>hid the whereabouts of Moira and her message from Barry despite having it for six months
>let Chris disappear for nearly a year
>botched the E-001 operation and just monitored her for 3 years
It was pretty obvious in retrospect.
I like how the villians turn into giant grotesque eighty foot tall eyeball monsters with no thought to how life is going to be afterwards if they kill leon or chris for example
They really turn into amorphous out of control blobs and think "Yes I will rule the world like this", every single time.
Resident Evil 4 is shit and has ruined the license.
THICKSET
I LIKE RESIDENT EVIL 6
I don't, but I will absolutely play it over 5 any day of the week.
Honestly, my real unpopular opinion is that people are blindsided by nostalgia for RE5. A lot of the levels and encounters SUCK in that game. But it did give us more RE4 combat WITH coop so it kind of balances out.
based
Good things about RE6:
>enemies' names are in Serbian language
Bad things about RE6:
>everything else
you forgot to put mercenaries mode under good
re4 remake is really fun and I'm conflicted if I enjoy it more than the original or not
I don't really care much for the remakes.
Also RE0 isn't as bad as people think it is. Rebecca is also super cute and she looks great in any outfit.
Umbrella is stupid
The whole thing is stupid, and that's pretty much the point behind all of it.
>unpopular
Re was never a horror series but a goofy one but they killed that part of the game to with all these gayass serious remakes
And I'm not paying you any money for remake
I will say the way the zombies moan and groan in the RE1 remake for the gamecube is really good, they're the only creepy sounding zombies I've ever heard in a game
ITS OVER
What's over?
IT
YOU WANT IT ALL BUT YOU CAN'T HAVE IT
RE7 should have been a gun survivor series instead of part of the main series.
Unpopular? Frick the remakes. Go bankrupt if you're that out of ideas.
The L4D2 crossover was kino
The action era OC's had more personality than most of the original cast
>You're not funny.
>What's your unpopular Resident Evil opinion?
That since Leon is Italian he should start swearing in italian when under pressure. it'd be hilarious
Leone S. Kennedini?
Unpopular opinion is capcom now is homosexual company who lacks any creative and willing to take risk, all they make now are either shit remakes or keep milking normie series
They're also watering everything down for no reason, to be "safe" and I have no idea why.
>No idea why
Because these safe game made them easy money and just like any aaa these days money matter most
Mother fricker they've tried for years to do something new but no one ever bites. They make another remake and normoids lap it up straight out of the slop bucket.
>RE:VERSE
They wanted that to be a thing so bad.
To be fair it was fun for a little bit.
It was.
>They make another remake and normoids lap it up straight out of the slop bucket.
because nowadays the only good games are remakes. A politically correct enviroment stunts creativity so no new story or IP worth a damn gets created
>Re but daybydeadlight
Lmao re in general is the most safest series ever, back then capcom used to make so many cool and different games
>Outbreak but worse in every way
Honestly, maybe doing straight up remakes is for the best
EXOPRIMAL
yeah i never heard of it either apparently its already been out for months
That game was unironically fun at the beginning.
...
...and then they intruduced Savage Gauntlet, or whatever the frick this was called, where you play 'high' levels with people who already beat the game (not new players) only to realise how fricking bad most of those players are.
So I stopped playing.
But like I said, it was fun. A scene where hundreds of velociraptor-like dinos where fallng down the skyscraper was kino.
(not my vid)
i think my computer would start smoking and catch on fire if i tried to play this
I was playing it on Series S, also thanks to game pass.
I'm re-downloading it again tonight to get those 3 remaining chievos.
>the raptors get up and start running around
BOOOOOOO!!!! I wanted raptorsplat!
looks like monster hunter with mechs (not that thats a bad thing). It's 70 fricking bucks by the way.
this piece of shit was released on xbox one while RE4 wasn't. I'll never forgive them for that.
7 had a VR port.
No shit, that's why I listed it because it's a fricking VR game.
you arent ready for my real opinions
remake 2 sucks
remake 3 sucks (not controversial)
remake 4 sucks
og 4 is overrated
5 sucks
6 rocks
7 sucks
8 sucks
the chronicles rail shooters are awful
1 is better than 2 is better than 3
Wesker was a better character in 1 than in Code veronica onward with the stupid Matrix shit.
All the girls in the remakes are fishfaces or look like trannies
and to top all of it, this is my real not bait opinion
>6 rocks
Only thing here that's even a fraction of as edgy as you think it is.
the 3rd person over the shoulder camera fricking sucks, there are already 1000+ games with that shit, fixed cameras need to come back
Leon is a terrible character, the series went to shit because of 4, claire saved 2
Ada is a great character
The "relationship" between them is so forced its unbearable
And don't fricking @ me with your 4 cope
>Muh [5/6/7/8/0/cvx] killed the series not muh 11/10 lol so randum erryone gone to bingo xDDDD
4 is when they decided to go a different direction, killing the seires.
4 was doomed to frick the series from the start
>Muh haunted mansion so spooky
>Muh black fog so creepy
They went so off the fricking tracks they made DMC.
If they "wanted to do something different" make a new fricking IP
other way around, re4 saved a dead series
this. if the re4 remake made re4 closer to re2 in terms of "horror" then it would've been perfect
So much for """"""Saving the series"""""""
let them know
https://captown.capcom.com/en/super_elections
Anon it's me! Джилл Baлeнтaйн!
Hot!
RE1 sucks
RE4 is the best
RE2/3 are ok but they're mediocre puzzle/horror games
RE is even worse than Zelda for the trope that "boss has giant glowing eye[s] as weakpoint"
REM5KE soon, friends.
CAPCOM PLEASE
REMASTER OUTBREAK
They won't anon and will just give us another shitty MP RE game
I'd even take an outbreak remake/remaster that added a battlepass and plays like RE2make, that's how desperate I am for classic RE with coop.
>battlepass
>new characters are tied to the battlepass
>What's your unpopular Resident Evil opinion?
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is worse than Resident Evil Zero and it started the franchise's path down the wrong direction.
The DualShock soundtrack is by far superior to the original, even Mansion Basement works in context.
>come back an hour later
>she's still samegayging
not an argument
>she
>replies and replies and replies to the same post, again and again
>poster count stays the same
You're not wrong.
not an argument
Who's is best?
Brad by far, everything else is just beretta larp and deagle larp.
Also the beretta 92fs is way too fricking heavy for a 9mm and I blame Resident Evil for its continued popularity
>the beretta 92fs is way too fricking heavy for a 9mm
Sounds like you should hit the gym you limp wristed gay.
pistols benefit from being heavy
Series went to shit after RE2 (RE2 Remake was a return to form).
Chris is canonically gay, but the fans dont want to accept it.
I wish it was canon, because the only good way to do a gay character is to never mention his sexuality and for that to never factor into anything he does.
Im so glad the mods are pruning you husbando thread gays now
I enjoyed the action REs the most. I also don't mind first person like everyone on here seems to.
My 8yo self played the shit out of it
Albert wesker ruined a fun story about evil corporations
Huge vampire mommy whatever her name hype killed my interest in re8
make another game with re6 gameplay
Future games should feature mocap Ella and Paola
I can understand a movie trying to be something and failing but etf were they trying with this?
>have a troony script already sitting around
>buy IP for free marketing
>change a few names so your troony script "fits"
>WOOOW WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DIDNT LIKE IT?
resident evil?
>Ashley's panties
>"No panties, no buy"
>Looking up Ashley's skirt without being called a pervert
>Skirtless Ada videos
>Suplex upskirt
>Deborah's panties
>Ada doesn't wear underwear
>RE1make Jill pantyshots
>Sienna Guillory pantyshots in RE: Apocalypse
>Beheaded upskirt
>Pink lingerie
>RE7 white spats
>Rebecca underwear visible in alternate outfits
>Jessica's thermal underwear
>Falling upskirt
>RE7 Ganker upskirt requestor
>Cropped STARS panty photo
My unpopular opinion is that these games need more panties
I only reach the fourth tier, shit.
At least Kevin Ryman was cool, although I always liked David more.
I don't care about RE4. I liked RE5.
here's the only tier list you'll ever need for resident evil
>thousand yard Ethan Corps
Jill should get a bug husband
Why doesn't she try to fight it? She's holds the claws to avoid being choked but that's it. How odd.
this was so weird
like one section that lasts 2 minutes introduces a blue herb that you may or may not need after the mandatory insemination cutscene
>introduces a blue herb
Er?
did it not? i thought thats how you got the insect semen out of your stomach and then the herb is never used again guess i could be misremembering
Just a regular green herb did that, there weren't any blue herbs in 3make.
maybe i just got confused because its the only time you'd ever EVER use a green herb raw by itself
No, I also remember there being a special herb only available after that happened.
Dunno what else to tell you mang.
Maybe start a cult about mandela effect for blue herbs in RE3make?
Not him, but I never EVER have been poisoned enough in RE 1 to ever warrant blue herbs.
Jill should have more games, and more loose outfits
>and more loose outfits
yes
>Why doesn't she try to fight it?
Really makes you think, doesn't it?
i thought 0 was very good and i played the games in chronological order last year
RE6 is literally my favorite game of the entire series and I don't care what these giraffe frickers say.
All I'm going to say is:
>Hold backward to run forward
>Nevermind, camera change.
>Get over this obstacle we didn't let you see
>Hold right to run forward.
>Nevermind, camera change
>Hold forward to run forward.
>Nevermind, camera change
>Hold backward to run forward.
>Nevermind, camera change
>Get over this obstacle we didn't let you see...
RE7 and RE8 were very mediocre
>only 8 images
I think Svetlana needs more pr0n images
I like the original RE1 more than the remake.
The pacing is a lot smoother, I like the setting more, there's fewer obnoxious gimmicks, and I find the cheesy voice acting more entertaining than the remake's competent but bland voice acting.
I would even go further and say the RE1 remake is a really bad starting point for newcomers. It will give you a bad impression of what classic RE is actually like.
And I was legitimately the only person on Ganker to say this for a long time, it used to be just taken as a given that the remake was objectively better and you should play it first.
Sienna > Nu-Jill > Voth
Resident Evil died when Capcom scrapped the Flagship Studios story.
Resident Evil Director's Cut is on par, or even slightly better, than the REmake.
RE4 onwards is not Resident Evil anymore.
If the game is not about the RC survivors it's not Resident Evil.
If the game is not "solve puzzle to progress" it's not Resident Evil.
The SD Perry books have a better story than anything RE after 3.
the first two WS Anderson Resident Evil movies are kino
resident evil's puzzles suck for the most part
I was immensely disappointed in re8 when notes were highlighted on the sheet music as you played the piano
The modders Who like cartoonishly big boobs on the gals are weird as frick and not Hot at all
Resident Evil was and and still is Metal Gear but horror/zombie influence rather than JUST action influence.
I still respect the originals and do annual runs.
i love Moira Burton!!!
I prefer the classic style huns with backtracking over adventures taking you to new areas. Backtracking means a new enemy gimmick and I fricking love that.
Hubs*
Simple as.
i bet we linked up at one point
Chris > Leon
Look at Leon's ballerina moves while Chris just overpowers and dominates zombies.
I wish they just made this a seperate series. Everything has to be connected for brand recognition.
RE7 is one of the best RE games ever made.
Dead Space should be compared to RE more than Silent Hill is compared to RE
RE0 haters just got too cucked by the Hookshot
RE0 was always great. I have no idea why Ganker hates it. my only guess is that it's more hard than most RE games. resource management is actually important in 0 unlike RE2 for example.
wtf is that Natalie Portman? But why wou--oh.
RE6 is on average pretty shit but the end of Chris’s campaign is so good it redeems the entire game to being fine and worth playing
CV is peak Resident Evil
I want Wesker to come back I don’t care how
Frick yea that’s what I’m talking about. Unbelievably good character
Chris's ending has, more than anything else, convinced me that he really is, in fact, literally gay. and thats a good thing because Piers deserves it
>finally get a cute twink BF
>he dies
Saddest ending in vidya history.
Code Veronica is true and proper BIOHAZARD 3, always was and always will be. Last Escape and Gun Survivor are both mere midquels, alongside with Outbreaks and 4-D Executor. Last Escape should never had a 3, that should've been Code Veronica's number in the title.
Resident Evil 3 did not age well. In fact, it's not a good game at all.
none of them are that good
RE4 intro / village segment is 10/10
rest of the game is 6/10
they didnt even have the balls to kill chris off and pass the torch and cucked out at the last minute
obsessed with punished chris
Simple as 2. Action resident evil games are the only ones that matter.
The game would have three endings based on how many mutations you have:
>very few or none: good ending, you escape the facility and now have a second chance at life outside of umbrella's clutches
>moderate amount: you escape, but are now a "carrier" for one of the viruses and inadvertently cause a new outbreak in a different city
>mutation maxxer: you transform into the final boss for a different resident evil protagonist and must fight them
Only 2R and 4R are fun
8 is the second worst RE behinid Revelations, mostly because of combat - what worked for 7 with its non-action approach to many parts of the game absolutely doesn't for work for a game people claimed was "just like RE4"
You should really play the games you talk about anon or else people just laugh to themselves when they read your posts
If they can't design good combat, they shouldn't release RE games at all
no one claimed RE8 had anything in common with RE4 other than some art design (village + castle).
The remakes are worse than the originals in basically every way, atmosphere, art direction, characters, dialogue, music, even gameplay. Only RE1 sort of comes close but still I think the original is much more charming in a lot of ways.
The originals have dogshit gameplay. You can’t even aim except at predetermined angles
>WTF y it not play like other shooty games??
Not my problem
I used a mod to remove the yellow paint and I can navigate the game just fine. Most people must be blind or something, because it was never necessary.
Wrong. I can't stop replaying REm4ke while I can't be arsed to replay the original.
Original trilogy (and REmake1) are great because they feel like rpgs during the first playthroughs
There is no addition in RE 1~3 remakes that makes it better than the original.
Remake of RE1 is overrated.
5 is worse in every single regard and Im tired of people saying its better than 6.
i remember capcom saying 5 would be yet scarier than 4 and even have a sunscreen mechanic as youd be in the hot sun alot, before releasing forced co op slop. at least your ai partners in 6 are invincible.
maybe RE4 had worse shooting mechanics. but it had
>better enemies
>better areas
>better pacing
>better story (its an RE game so it doesnt count for much)
RE6 played like absolute fricking garbage. The controls feel sloppy and the feedback on animations and other visual effects are some of the worst in the entire series. And no, RE4 did not have worse shooting mechanics. You cannot say shit like that when guns in RE6 feel like wet noodles to which enemies barely react. I feel like slapping every one of you c**ts who are incapable of discerning what makes a good action game.
you ain't gonna do shit because I'm rolling around and shooting at you, at the same time. Something that is literally impossible in RE4, b***h.
RE2 was way too easy
RE4 killed the franchise' sovl
good game series turned into microtransaction laden trash like all nu-games.
Action didn't almost kill RE, co-op did.
That's not hard to swallow, that's what people were saying since 5
>yeah this is neat but if this keeps going it'll be repetitive and stupid
Some people are pretty quick to blame RE's dark age on 4 though, and God knows how many people regurgitate the tired "you can't like 4 and hate 5" rhetoric while ignoring the massive elephant in the room with that comparison. Campaign design took an absolute nosedive when Capcom designed them to be crashed through with a buddy, a problem that 4 doesn't really have and 6 sort of tried to address with Ada's campaign, albeit to such overwhelming kickback that they patched in co-op anyways.
>some people
only the ones that pay attention
Early RE plays like shit and everyone has nostalgia glasses on, RE7 and RE8 were another step into a wrong direction but the new generation loves FPS slop.
>he used the slop buzzword
Thanks for flagging your opinion as complete irredeemable shit anon very convenient
Welcome to the internet homosexual.
Been here long enough to recognize the recurrent patterns in how morons like yourself prefer to self-identify thanks
I liked 5
A lot of people did. Its most profitable game in the series with RE6
(it was also my first and only RE game untill Village)
It's time for Chris and Leon to retire. There is literally nothing more they can do with either character that would be interesting. There are so many one-shot characters that deserve to come back and star in a game.
Demake 2 sucks and so does almost every other modern RE, RE 4 was good but a terrible Resident Evil game, and Code Veronica + Outbreak duology were the last true Resident Evil games.
>Old good new bad homosexual is a homosexual
Nothing new, kys.
The remake of 2 left the original obsolete, troony.
Why it was so Hard for the remakes to make zombie crows and spiders? More monsters is always a good thing
I don't care for the gameplay in any of them other than 4. Haven't tried the latest but all the rest seemed meh. Just don't care for puzzles when they involve running back and forth through the same areas a few dozen times because you're not sure what unique item you'll need.
REm4ke > RE4
RE6 would be a great game if they made every room bigger and upped the enemy count so it can bring the gun-fu energy of the Mercenaries mode to the main game.
