This one is because Doom released on Switch significantly later after patches had already improved the game.

This one (and 99% of examples) is because PS-only/Xbox-only reviewers docked the game 20 points for having "problematic cute anime girls".

The scores will vary because the different versions are reviewed by different outlets and don't have the same number of reviews. I don't see how this is hard to understand.

Nintendo has a dedicated mafia that buys out scores (same as Snoy but snoy is poorer and dumber)
Notice how they will go after weeb fanservice and downplay their own weeb games (fire emblem, xenoblade) yet Zelda fanservice is allowed
Notice how Nintendo forced Mario Wonder over Xenoblade DLC or Engage, and how Pikmin 4 won over FE

There is no nintendo bonus. Do you dumbasses really think the same person reviews every single version of the game that releases? Even then why would nintendo pay off reviewers for a third party game? To get more sales? Considering the money for a sale is split 70/30 in the dev's favor, that would be a massive waste of money. You would have a point if you were talking about something like pokemon or zelda, but you can't really expect intelligence out of snoytroons with no games can you?

    It's the handheld bonus.

Getting shit running on a handheld is factually more impressive than a knock off PC and, more importantly, unlike every non-PC system gives the system and therefore the ports an actual reason to exist that isn't based in laziness of the end user.

Those reviews aren't done by the same person. Different people will have different opinions. This post operates under the assumption the person who reviewed the game on Switch would like it less on other platforms or vice versa when there is no proof of that.

  42. 5 months ago

it didn't, Metacritic used to let you check a publisher's average score prior to their redesign and Nintendo's was 76 versus both SIE and Xbox Game Studios' 75 i.e. no practical difference
for reference most other third party publishers' averages were also in the low-mid 70s range with a few like Sega and Ubisoft being in the high 60s

its a bit weird when some horrible looking game with shit textures gets promoted as goty by some outlets

I'd assume the scores dont mean anything across different platforms, a 90 metacritic switch title is worthless if you're a pc gamer since that game might be extremely bad. But when they give awards to those switch titles over pc games its really strange.
