When I realized there was no LGBT representation except the transphobic stuff in Code Veronica.
huh?
We won't fall for your tricks, WEF cleaner.
I have a confession. The psx RE zombies still spook me ever since I was a kid watching my dad play, modern ones no issues it is just the psx era ones.
I’m in the same boat, sorta.
I tried playing RE1 and 2 on PSX back in like 5th grade but shat my pants.
Fast forward to today, I still can’t play them
This zombie in the OP is a scan of an actual cadaver iirc
I couldn't figure out why the original scared me more than the remake. Being an actual dead body makes sense.
Just the eye
I believe it was only the eyes
source? that sounds ridiculous. like did Isao Ōishi go
>I know I'm a professional artist but oh man GOTTA HAVE THIS SINGLE EYE
>s
Frick off, freedom hater.
Resident evil 6, but really 7 and it finally set in ar eight. Even 5 was a bit rocky but I still liked it.
Anyways heres my rating for the series >inb4 0 sucks
I loved it
1>2=0>4>3>5>6>7>shit>8
>I realized RE was no longer for me through three games over the course of a decade.
And?
decent list but re4 should be last
I realized 4, 5, 6 and the remakes were for me because they aren't first person and don't control like shit
6, although I enjoyed RE2make despite it being inferior to the original. Everything else has been made for the zoomer streaming audience.
When RE4 released.
is "resident evil village" worth playing if i liked 5?
5 was the last one i played if that's the one where you punch a boulder in a lava cave for some reason.
Play 7 first.
I would say no. They're nothing alike and if they weren't both titled resident evil you'd never know they were even from the same series.
>realise
It’s realiZe my ESL friend.
moron alert.
Learn how to spell words properly.
both are correct, anon
Wrong.
2 > r2 > r3 > 7 > 3 > 1 > 8 > 4 > 6 > 5 > CV
RE4
with 7
eh, at least we have remakes, I guess
When 8 sucked and Capcom started coasting on low effort remakes
Nah man I'm all for it right now.
I still enjoy it
8 was unironically the most disappointed I've ever been with a video game. What a piece of shit.
the series died when they got rid of tank controls and fixed camera angles
CV sucked, but RE4 was where it became clear that the series had grown in a direction I give no fricks about.
honestly with 4, REmake and RE7 are absolute peak Resident Evil
>7
>peak resident evil
>no zombies
>RE i about zombies
Why does Ganker hate RE so much?
I like the beginning half of Resident Evil games, where everything is more slow-paced, you have a limited inventory and weapons and you don't have a good grasp of enemies.
I wish more of the RE games carried this element all the way through, limited weapon types, you don't have an arsenal, enemy variety and enemy variance. So if you blow the legs out of a zombie and make them crawl, they now decide to ambush you by waiting at the top of stairs or crawl through vents. Limited save spaces or after a certain point in the game, zombies can come in. Less campy shit.
That's the Best part, but then once you grasp the idea of It the rest of the game gets easier, and you get a wierd difficulty curve not optimal for videogames
1 > CV > 3 > 2 > 0
the rest ain’t worthy
>CV that high
literally why
because it’s kino despite the low budget jankiness. it deserves a remake for obvious reasons
After I played through every single resident evil game except for 3 remake and the very first one, and retried REmake. That game and it's fundemental flaw genuinely broke my mind. And then when I finally played the 1st game and realized that my qualms with REmake weren't unfair or untrue. It was settled. Will likely never touch an RE game again.
Good riddance. gay.
I haven't played the "bad" ones yet like 0 or CV. I like 6 though, even bought it twice and I know nearly everyone shits on it constantly. I didn't even think Gaiden was all that bad of what I played of it.
0 isn't bad, it's good.
After "WE DO IT" but before RE2R came out. Once I saw it was third person over the shoulder and not a faithful remake I knew it was unironically over for old fans. Didn't buy Village. RE4R was a good time tho, probably the last Capcom purchase I will make.
I liked the remakes but I understand your position, I too prefer the fixed camera.
I didn't hate RE2R but it wasn't the game I had in my head for years...or even close to it.
A few, there was so much hype when the go ahead was given to start working on the remake of 2. We all bought 7 to show people still cared about RE. Then the footage and pics started dropping and enthusiasm dropped like a rock. Excuses started to show up like
>well they will probably have a classic mode with old school camera angles and tank controls
>nobody wants fixed camera angles, this is what is best for the franchise
Disheartening. Even an old voice of the classic community had to make a video telling everyone to calm down and that it might not be what we wanted but we should give it a try. I knew then and there it was over.
i wonder how many 35 year old boomers felt this
only the poor homosexuals that grew up thinking gamer cred was real
It is not just about the gameplay. Re2make feels soulless and generic.
Re engine doesnt help with it either.
Started with RE5 probably.
I liked RE4 when it came out like most everyone else, but by the time RE5 came out, I didn't like the prospect that the old school style was never coming back. I love shooters, but not everything needs to be a shooter.
As a side, RE2 Reimagining was the game that made me realize modern gaming wasn't for me. I mean I had little positive to say about modern games well before its 2018 E3 debut, it sealed the deal
I pretty much share the same opinion except I didn't care about the old school style not coming back. For me it was because RE5 was just more of RE4 but dumbed down for couch co-op instead of having that RE essence of going through old creepy architecture and doing puzzles
You posted it.
I was too scared and realised my brother should play instead.
Same for me as a kid but I picked them up as an adult and its one of my favorite series now. Actually I never cared for video games as a kid.
When I turned on the first game and had to turn my character to move forward
i don't like being scared
it's always been shit
RE5
I played all the mainline games over the course of the past 8 years. I like every one of them and am excited for the next one.
It's one of the few series I'm still playing new releases of that I starts playing in the 90s/00s.
6, it was kinda annoying but not outright terrible. They pulled me back with most of the stuff that followed.
RE4.
Zoomers fricked everything up by completely by removing the claustrophobia of a fixed camera.
Yep I have to agree. I dropped RE with 4. Just another dumbed down third person view shooter. Any atmosphere or sense of fright was removed.
It's still for me
When the sexy women lost their ass and looks.
Why is Debra Wilson staring back at me like that?
It was always for me, but Crapcom got bamboozled trying to chase after the xbro beaner/Black person demographic with 5 & 6. 7 proved it was always for me and I was right to hate on them because Crapcom still made a survival horror game despite massive sales of 5 & 6.
3 with the boobtubes and tentacle monster man
came back for 4 on the wii though that shit was grand
dropped back off until 8 but watched a playthrough of 5+6, might've enjoyed them had i given them the chance in their hayday
Did y'all homies know that this zombie right here was modeled after an actual irl corpse? Pretty fricked of Capcom to do such a thing
the only thing i'm finding on the internet about this is some 'trust me bro' shit. a single post on reddit, a single post on gamefaqs.
i'm calling this myth busted.
It is real anon. Its something that seems a bit hard to find but you will just have to trust me bro. I will try to find more but its probably something Capcom would rather people forget about or not know.
makes zero sense, anon. to just digitize a single eye. did the texture artist suddenly forget how to draw?
I suspect it was more than just an eye too despite what people say. There's a behind the scenes featurette on youtube from an old promo VHS and you can see a guy texturing that zombie with something that looks more like a scan of a whole cadaver face/head,
I'll look in to this VHS, and also this Chris guy. until then, just sounds like marketing hype to me.
It's called Birth of Biohazard. You just get a quick glimpse of this around the 32 minute mark.
I always thought all the burned corpses everywhere were silly, considering no combine weapon works like that, including the quasi-canon cleaner dudes.
7 & re2r
not because i thought the games were outright bad or anything, the move to photorealism and washed out 'grounded' designs just wasn't what i was looking for. for me the older games' visual treatment struck a nice balance between being larger than life and 'heroic' without becoming too stylized or deliberately over the top. (in that regard at least) it's a nitpick but hey
Fun fact: Mikami personally kidnapped and murdered an innocent person to make this cutscene this model. Fricked up but that's the price of art.
wrong. it was Kamiya and he beat a child to death with a rice cooker in order to fully capture the realism for their kid zombies.
Mikami was so horrified he sicced his doberman pincher on Kamiya and it ripped off his face and balls. Kamiya still walks with a limp to this day.
When RE5 released.
But then they brought me back in RE7
But if RE9 be some gay shit about Chris again i am out
RE0, it's like they tried to shake up the formula with new mechanics but they were all stupid and awful and turned the game into a slog. It's not like Code Veronica was great, mind you, but it wasn't miserable to play through.
4
never cared for "zombies" to begin with
RE7 and RE2 demake getting praised
I got filtered by the original resident evil and never really gave the series a chance after that. I've played virtually every other survival horror series and loved them though.
WTF
4
7
6 is my personal favorite, and going from that to fps shlock just really took me out of it
the subpar remakes were just beating a dead horse
I still enjoy the series
