When did you realize that RE3 is the best classic RE game?
>Nemesis encounters that are far superior to X in every fricking way
>Actually exploring the actual Raccoon City (unlike RE2)
>The city is very lively with RNG aspects, events, different interactables, new level design, etc
>choice system
>new mechanics like dodging, knockdowns, shoves, 180 quick turn
>Great OST
>Gunpowder gives you lots of flexibility in how you want to approach the game combat wise.
>Probably the most weapon variety in a single run (RE2 has them divided among characters, maybe Code Veronica has more than 3 though. They're a little more unique in 3 imo).
>Dodge system

Would unambiguously be the best if it had a Carlos story. Still better than 2 anyhow
I wouldn't say it's my favourite, but damn it was good. I made an effort to play a ton of the RE games in release order recently, and went through 1, 2 and 3 back to back (to back). I somehow never played RE3 until then and it was super impressive. The movement options and Nemesis encounters were really cool. I also liked exploring Raccoon City, even if the puzzles were so silly.
Excellent game, I should replay it again and try different options in the crisis sections.
nah 1 is best
1 and 3 are both the bests but for different reasons
It's meh and was the beginning of the end.
>what's survivor horror?
>just craft tons of ammo to shoot down hordes of zombies
>le Nemesis jumpscares!
Meh game, and the worst RE protagonist.
>>le Nemesis jumpscares!
homosexual
>When did you realize that RE3 is the best classic RE game?
When i noticed its the resident evil with the most variety of female zombies.
My favorite moment of the game.
You get used to it after a while but putting dodging, knockdowns and shoves on the same button as aiming or firing your weapon was a terrible idea.
It was the only idea that could work for a survival horror. It's a defensive move, put it on a dedicated button and the player should be able to use it anytime he wants, and it becomes like the slide in Mega Man: an offensive move. The key is the tank control movement, not kurazee Devil May Cry-like roll & dodge
People actually fail to realize that any time they get a dodge that they didn't want, it means that the game just saved them from getting hit.
I've always known this to be the true.
>Actually exploring the actual Raccoon City (unlike RE2)
This is what I liked most about the game. Before I actually played RE3, I would read about it in magazines and look at pictures of Jill in RC, and my imagination would run wild imagining what horrors await in the zombie-infested city.
when Jill is cranking the shutter door to the gas station , the crank snaps. that was such a freakin shock to me because those damn items were in the other games as a tradition. lots of other awesome moments too like the infinite ammo from k.o-ing nemesis but that one just stuck out and made me chuckle like wow this games is trying to be really really different from the others
Not gonna lie but seeing Jill's ass wiggle when uses that crank or the fire hose used to turn me on
it really is, i cringe at the contrarians and posers jerking off to Caca Shitronica and REmake when RE3 MOGS them so hard
>caca shitronica
Jesus, stop yourself before posting this shit next time, you sound like you're about 8
encounters that are far superior to X in every fricking way
X is a surprise to mix up the second scenario, I would expect the thing the game is named after to be better than him.
exploring the actual Raccoon City (unlike RE2)
You explore a bunch of back alleys. RE2 also never sold itself as being that.
>>The city is very lively with RNG aspects, events, different interactables, new level design, etc
The RNG aspects in the city events amount to whether you get dogs or crows, and "new level design" is complete bullshit.
system
Yeah, it sucks. You make about 3 worthwhile choices in the whole damn game, the rest are fricking laughable.
>>new mechanics like dodging, knockdowns, shoves, 180 quick turn
Three of those are the same mechanic and it was implemented horribly.
OST
Yeah.
gives you lots of flexibility in how you want to approach the game combat wise.
Debatable.
the most weapon variety in a single run (RE2 has them divided among characters, maybe Code Veronica has more than 3 though. They're a little more unique in 3 imo).
3's weapons aren't unique at all. It's just Jill's loadout from 1, except if you play on easy you get the AR.
system
You already mentioned that. It sucks.
He's some obnoxious gay that's been spamming occasional RE threads for weeks, and he always calls CV that. Think he might just be autistic.
>except if you play on easy you get the AR.
only in some re-releases
you knew what game he was referring to, your mind is chldish as much as his
exploring the actual Raccoon City (unlike RE2)
Something very frustrating about resident evil 2 is, you only can explore a few places of the city before reaching the police station, and is ONLY in the "first play". In the "second play" you have the police station in front of you.
I loved it too.
