Nah
Pretty much true. Get the Director's Cut, and do NOT worry about the "tons of flags all over the goddamn place" collectibles that do not show up on any map. Unlike many collectibles later in the series, these do NOT count towards anything either important, lore worthy, or unlocking some gear.
Just enjoy the story, missions, ambiance, and the puzzles/conspiracy shit.
1 was only game where the outside the animus story was actually interesting, when I first played it I hated how they kept pulling me out of the assassin gameplay but by the end I was fully invested
Absolutely HATE everything about Desmonds saga going forward
>Absolutely HATE everything about Desmonds saga going forward
I honestly thought they were going to the "Ancient Aliens" thing because that tv show was on at the time but the plot was so much worse.
I always wanted this to be a Red Vs Blue feud between Assassin's and the Templars over Divine Technology with no explanation like the Ark of the Covenants, some alien, some magic, some actually Godly. Have both sides equally evil or morally grey, Unity did cover this idea with the Templars actually starting the French revolution that the Assassin's thought they were leading.
>free running dumbed down, vaulting cut >combat dumbed down, combos are now performed when hitting again after your blade hits the enemy instead of when both your blades collide in rhythm and common grunts can be one-shot by grabbing them and slicing their throat at no cost >story from this point onward is constant drama, at best vaguely about assassins at worst not at all >side events not related to your main objective in any way >economy system introduced >uplay, uplay rewards, edition exclusive dlc/missions introduced >can't get out of the animus whenever you want >can't even replay main story missions >synchronization can be fricking healed >leaving the main target alive after fistfighting him because the game was cut back from 1503 to 1499
Legit the only objective improvements were the new assassination moves, the glyphs, the hidden tombs and a couple new tools like the poison blade or smoke grenades (gun was overkill)
>what they should have done to improve the combat is mostly just flesh out the different weapons and make counters less overpowered >what they did was make the combat even more reliant on counters in 2 by nerfing offense and EVEN MORE reliant on counters in Brotherhood by letting you basically instakill everything around you after a counter
Essentially.
Ass Cred had some nice ideas but they never get together and I mean never in the franchise
Scouting does not matter and you can kill anyone until you reach the objective no matter how clumsy you do it.
I always feel Ass Cred would be better with a rating systems for missions like in Hitman or MGS. With a bonus if you only eliminated your target and that alone. Also the story is terrible and from Origins onward it becomes a pseudo RPG.
This.
I'm replaying AC 1 right now for the second time after getting (admittedly) hyped for Mirage.
It's pretty damn rough. >Parkour is fricky and doesn't always work (to be fair they didn't fix this until Revelations) >Lack of cutscenes makes it more boring as you walk around in circles as Altair waiting for characters to finish their monologue >Press button to see different camera angle 😮 >Side activities are boring as frick and repetitive >The Kingdom map is ugly and pointless >Repetitive viewpoints >Getting pulled out of the Animus to fricking SLEEP is a waste of time
The saving grace is that the cities are comfy, the story is absolutely fantastic and Altair is badass even if his voice actor sucks.
Yeah, 1 is a pretty junky game that is just carried by its atmosphere if anything (and to be fair, the atmosphere in it is GREAT). Later entries generally enhance the gameplay, but the atmosphere gets blanded real hard later on.
when you play as ezio

Nah
The information gathering between assassinations stays boring and repetitive, but the actual assassinations are pretty good stuff.
Also this, the game is atmospheric as frick and beautiful.

Also where is my WW2 AC Ubisoft?

When you finally stop and enjoy the scenery/ambience of that game.

>ass creed
>good
Good joke
the moment you can start shoving civilians off of the cliff
can't remember if I ever played much more of it when it released
I liked the setting and atmosphere of AC1-Brotherhood but I wouldn't call them "good" games. The actual gameplay is so anemic and boring
>the fun stops when jade stops suckin'
You're gay
It was good for it's time when it launched, and paved the way for the well acclaimed sequel, and the only other good main-line AC game (Revelations)
If you can't wrap your head around that you're a seasponge or a zoomer
>It was good for it's time when it launched
not really
the hitman series were much better assassin games
kys numanshill
Never. There is no such thing as a good assassin's creed game.
why have you thought that it was good in first place?
Reminder AC1 is the only game IN THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE that has sword scabbards
And? Doesn't make it less of a pure goyslop
You sound mad
Bloodlines has them too moron
Oh yeah well Altair's Chronicles has them as well IDIOT
For me it's City of Jerusalem
play 2
It's the only good AC game.
