I enjoyed my first playthrough, but I’m not sure if I did it right. The stupid parts of traveling and getting stopped every time by those creatures ruined it for me. Not sure if was doing it right and that loud sound effect and slowdown when the phantom things appear is very grating. Really took me out of the game. And nobody used my strictures I built.
Navigating past BTs is annoying as frick until you realize you have a button to clamp Sam's hand over his mouth. Once you get comfortable with it you can pretty calmly traverse the areas at a slowish pace. Likewise the knife you get makes it completely solved, just get close and press the button, even with the screaming soul it doesn't alert the other BTs. Or just piss on one and it does the same thing.
yeah, playing through for the first time right now, and it took me a few hours to realize i can just take it slow, crouch and hold my breath. there's no rush or urgency to deal with the BTs. hold breath, take a few steps, then rest. as long as i don't accidentally walk right into one, i'm good.
>Not sure if was doing it right and that loud sound effect and slowdown when the phantom things appear is very grating
It is indeed fricking grating, but thankfully they patched the game and you can now disable the long-ass cutscene that plays every time they appear in the options.
I just got the order to get to port knot city and the game warned me I won't be able to come back after I cross the lake. Should I backtrack and take the time to do all the "orders for sam" missions I skipped? I have the bike and there's tons of bridges so it shouldn't take too long but my R2 finger is starting to cramp up. Is there a toggle in the options so I don't have to hold it down in order to accelerate?
Are you playing on PlayStation with force feedback or something? Or if you’re on an Xbox elite controller just toggle the triggers to the minimum pull distance.
I'm playing on a cheap logitech usb controller with xbox layout. I also have a DualShock 4 but the result is the same. My entire hand around the pinky and ring finger and wrist just aches after a while of holding the trigger down.
I can relate. Bloodborne on PS5 gave me some sort of tennis elbow that took months to fix with stretching. I could barely hold a cup of coffee or use my mouse for work.
I have that too. Its called cubital tunnel syndrome. (like carpal tunnel, but specifically the pinky and ring finger).
Try squeezing your bicep under your armpit with your opposite hand and running it down to your elbow like you're milking a cow. Do the same from elbow to wrist. You should feel a tingle in your fingers, which means you're loosening the nerve. Also do mask stretches.
>I just got the order to get to port knot city and the game warned me I won't be able to come back after I cross the lake. Should I backtrack and take the time to do all the "orders for sam" missions I skipped?
you can come back later. also, no spoilers, but dont put too much work into the intro area. just do the unique jobs that unlock stuff and move on.
Is this game worth playing again but in 4k and nice open-back headphones. I feel like I missed some of the vibe by playing it on a small, fuzzy laptop screen when it came out. Will you guys please use my bridges this time. I still listen to Low Roar from time to time.
>Is this game worth playing again but in 4k and nice open-back headphones
Install it and find out, moron. If it sucks, just uninstall it and do something else. You have absolutely nothing to lose by doing this other than a few moments of free time.
Climbing that first little mountain after the "starting area" was pretty jaw dropping for me.
You have to have other players structures turned off though. The morons building bridges everywhere to farm likes really ruins the immersion, which is too bad because finding someone's well placed ladder or rope when you're out of gear or just having a shitty run is great. Game would be better if you could just turn off morons and chink IPs lol
the game is designed around having it on. unless you want to build every bridge and charge tower yourself, which is tedious imo. it'd rather use one that some other anon put in the exact same place that i would have placed one.
Does the director's cut transfer saves or will I have to start again? I don't mind really but still, I put too much time trying to build road sections solo on purpose for likes
I just got the DC and clicked the "load game" (also have a saved file from regular version). It says there's no saved files for Director's Cut available. So looks like starting over
Play it ONLINE! The people structures will only show AFTER you transpose that part. Playing this game without the other Porters is like playing Dark Souls without the covenants/ghosts that build the dark and lonely atmosphere of the game.
After the game is done with its dragged out cutscenes, world building and exposition. So soon after you meet Bridget. The first couple of hours are just grueling to sit through because of them.
it doesn't
>A SILENT SALTY SEEETHINGGG
don't worry anon, it's gonna click
as soon as Low Roar - Bones starts playing. so about 15 minutes into the game.
sorry, it's Low Roar - Don't Be So Serious.
not Bones.
man those graphics are fricking crisp
those hills have the best atmospheric lighting I've ever seen in vidya
when you close your eyes and ears and think of playing literally any other game

You could do that since launch day.
>He doesn't try to get caught and run to the no BTs zone at max speed
Boring
I remember in the first area memorizing a path to just ride my motorcycle through the BT's lol

Would you like a tampon too ma'am? Your fingers cramped, lmao
you, too, will be old one day anon

If you don't like it by now you probably never will. It's fine, just put it down and move on.
>kojimaslop
>good
the only decent game is mg2 on msx everything else he has put his hands on is SHIT
that low roar guy died
Never. What you get from the start it's what you get at the end. If you didn't get hooked from the very start, you won't later on.
after the tutorial map. if you are still bored by then, drop it.
the second you start the game

Yes. Many of the best parts are traversing the terrain looking at the beautiful scenery with the pleasant music playing
It actually starts strong and gets worse lol

The social features were pretty good at launch but stuff like that just gets worse the more it's used.
Also just makes the game easier and easier
damn, I'm torn on whether I want them on or off. I love shit like that and I'm gonna play on Hard

I'm hoping kojimbo found a way to fix this in the sequel.
The floods, earthquakes and forest fires are in Death Stranding 2 specifically to solve that problem. They show a flood destroying a bridge instantly.
I saw structures I didn't like like four times o I just removed them from the map.

you have to use an option in the original to manually export your save for director's cut.
When you get the knife that lets you kill BTs

I miss Monster. there's a mod on the nexus that replaces them, but it got broken after the last patch.
the monster was like the ultimate example of cringekino.
we didn't know what we had, bros..
i wonder why monster wouldn't renew the deal. they didn't like it being made out of piss or something?
License deals require lots of money. Nobody is playing this anymore so not worth it.
and it's free advertising too.

For me it was reaching Port Knot. Couldn't put it down once I got there for the first time.
Word on the street is that the second game will have Chick-fil-A stands scattered across the map.
>director's cut
Automatically discarded. Not Kojima's vision.
He actually said that. It's just Director's Extra according to him, the first game is his entire vision already.
