Never but i wanna talk about PQ, why PQ1 feels special compared to PQ2?
For one thing, only being able to play P3 and P4 in English and then only peing able to play PQ2 in Japanese was super jarring.
Comfy atmosphere. It was also full of fanservice between the comfy dungeon crawling. Seeing those characters interact with each other felt fresh.
PQ2 fricked up because the dungeons being movies made them feel unimportant. Not to mention every dungeon had a forced "life lesson" that really only resonates with bugmen society.
I just really liked Rei and Zen's story. A bit on the nose and definitely predictable, sure. But it was executed well enough that I felt for the characters and they grew on me as the game progressed. It's honestly a shame that they'll be forgotten forever, but it's arguably better that way.
Also helped that they only had two casts vying for relevancy in the background instead of three, on top of that.
PQ proved to me that it doesn't matter if your story is "generic" as long as you still do it well. It didn't matter that it was super obvious what was going on, because the scenes were still executed extremely well.
Persona itself should've taught you this. Did you think the gaiden stories were somehow less moronic? Holy shit. You think Persona is a good story.

Never because they killed their own pacing by releasing the first game being about 2 parties and then sequentially making the second game with the cast of 3 games. They will have to cram up Persona 6 and its still not released.

This. I really like P3 and P4 so I hated how the characters were all extremely flanderized. I'd rather just play EO.
That's fair. For the serious scenes, I felt like the occasionally did an even better job with the characters than the main games, but having Chie and Akihiko exclusively talk about meat and protien outside of those serious scenes got pretty old.
It's just EO-lite. I liked it, I also liked EO but I used way less brain power to break PQ compared to EO which was all-in-all a relaxing experience.

I liked it. I didn't care much about the flanderizing because I knew it was going to be a silly spin off but like OG Persona it also has its real moments. Some parts of the map drawing is fun, the pacing of the battles is nice. The girl's backstory is basically a reiteration of Maki's backstory from P1. There are some killer tracks in it.
