When it comes to making a video game, who should be getting paid the most? The VAs? The Coders? The art team?

Fpbp. Game devs and VA literally aren't human. They should pay ME to waste my time on playing their slop.

    >Nolan North: “I’m going to go out on a limb. I want to thank a group of people at Naughty Dog. It’s them as a whole. I’m hearing a lot of talk lately about how performance matters. And it does. The performance of every designer, every programmer, every artist, every hard-working talented person at that office . . . that performance is so important. . . their performance matters more than mine. That’s important to understand in this day and age with all the talk going back and forth. Because without their performance, my performance would not only not matter—it wouldn’t exist.”

      how is nolan so based

He has stupidly good job security.
He's one of like 8 VAs in the game industry that gobbles up all the roles. The man has it made. All he has to do is do his normal voice for the rest of his life, and he's set for life.

Voice acting is a fricking pit, and if Nolan really cared about talented people getting rewarded, maybe he should step aside so that maybe some day, I never have to hear him, or Troy Baker ever again.

I feel like this but the Laura Bailey as well. Shes a good voice actress but fricking everywhere

That's the crux of the issue.
Over-saturation mixed with a lack of range.
I don't hate Nolan North's one voice, but he, like half the VA cabal right now, has one voice, and it's everywhere.
You pit him against someone like Fred Tatasciore, and he just crumbles.

a ratio of most difficult work and the scarcity of people capable of doing the work. For example, manual labor is hard, but every moron can do it. So, whoever fits that role.

People don't buy games because of the voice actors involved in the games. I do, but people don't.

The voice actors should get around half the game's budget plus 40% of the profits. It's only fair. Pay your workers.

    coders/(actual)designers > composers > modelers/visual artists > VA > managment > secretaries > bookkeepers > HR (even if at all)

Coders and game designers. Your game can have the most shit story and voice acting but can make up for it with really good gameplay.

First the directors and the game designers, since they are the ones who make or break the game.
Then coders, since the game literally would not exists without them.
Then the composers and artists (composers should also receive royalties from soundtrack sales, and however spotify makes artists money)
VAs only come later, they can make a game better for sure, but they are not essntial. Videogames were fine with no voice acting for 30 years and they can fine without it now.

Probably animators, artists, designers, and coders.

VA'S are the most entitled and spoiled. They get paid too much for what they do.
    >B-B-But I don't work all year! I NEED more money to live!

Ok, so get another job. Imagine anyone else saying this shit. Honestly, studios should just have the coders and a couple of girls from HR voice act. Then just divide up what they would have wasted on a VA.
