You somehow remembered it to post about it here, not to mention that there's at least one Death Stranding thread on /vee/ every other day.
Not to mention that Death Stranding has a small but dedicated playerbase even almost 2 years since the Director's Cut released on steam.
The Director's Cut adds a lot of structures that make that are really useful in lategame, it also adds a racing minigame, replayable boss battles and some side-missions.
At the cost of removing Monster Energy product placement.
At the end of the day, you decide if its worth it.
Get the deluxe if you want to get rid of the obnoxious product placement.

Hideo Kojima games are just random shit strewn together, there's no underlying narrative or any coherent commentary. Japanese people don't have any international disputes, apart from China, so I don't really expect them to be making videogames about geopolitics. MGS and Death Stranding are fine as videogames but they aren't very insightful.
