When was the last time you felt ANYTHING, joy , excitement , surprise accomplished when catching a Pokémon ?
Been play the game that shall not be named and it has so much more soul, it feels like I’m squeezing A spending 30 minutes catching a moltres and running out of balls again, but constantly
Why did Pokémon lose the charm and wonder of monster catching?

For be, it was last night, when I was playing Pokemon Emerald. And again it was last week, when I was playing Violet.
Pokemon is fun, you joyless homosexual.
Yeah, says the litterally soulless drone who enjoy pokemon slop
Mewtwo was a struggle but finally got him two days ago

lolnope
Talking about palworld, even catching regular mons is more consistently exiting then anything in Pokémon
Gen 1, every other Pokemon game is the same shit, moron.
>why is collecting a single collectible not fun?
The point is to feel you've done something once you've gotten them all
Pokemon are literally just the jiggies from Banjo, it might hurt to hear this but you know it's true. You're never going to see an actual attempt at an "ecosystem" or a cohesive setting.
USUM last team I experienced soul

>literally just a movie
Why is it that /vp/ has the worst taste in Pokemon?
People here seem to like Pokemons as a pet simulator or a Tamagotchi than bor the battling, it's pathetic how casual this place is.
Because, sadly, 99% of Pokemon fans are casuals, that's why they all fell for what everyone else is tired of: Early Acces survival slop.
You allow casuals to make a Pokemon game you get an empty open world that's all about petting the hecking wholesome Pokemoninos, the fantasy of every numale and woman who claims to be a "dog parent".
You let compgays make a game and you get Showdown, pure Pokekino.
>Why did Pokémon lose the charm and wonder of monster catching?
When you got old.
For me it was fairly recently. I enjoy catching the momeon of Moemon: Fire Red because they have new sprites I haven't seen yet and I want to see what they evolve into. Withering X is also exciting because of the abundance and balance changes to make weaker pokemon more interesting. Start playing more hacks or fan games and maybe that childhood joy will return

When I clutched a 2% chance catch on boss mammorest
if the pokemon is at 1hp and asleep the game should simply make the catch rate 100%. I've already proven I have what it takes to catch them, might as well stop wasting my time.
>When was the last time you felt ANYTHING
I can't remember
When I finally got that bushi
Because they show off every single pokemon in the trailers. There's no excitement in finding a new Pokemon anymore, because instead of going "Oh what the hell is that thing?" its "Oh its that thing I already saw in the trailer!!!"
It only happened for SM anon
The best part is when you try to avoid spoilers and every algorithm decides you must know anyway
From Gen 1 back then and still do.

Dude what?
The catching in Palworld is the same as in PLA, it's just running around spamming pokeballs.
NTA, but I think watching that bar and the percentage progressively get higher is much more exciting and intuitive than just having the ball hop or wiggle.
It's the same crap, I rather they make the catching an instant success rather than waste my time with this.
Ironically, for all the flaws SV has, the method it introduced to catch some legendaries, of just giving them a huge healthpool and then let you catch it with whatever Pokeball you want once you defeated them, is probably the first time they've implemented a catching system I liked.
Only thing they need to do is make this way harder, maybe make it a multi-stage battle where they can summon other Pokemons to help so you can fight in doubles or triple battles.
Never, catching is the weakest part of these games and will always be, not only is it an RNG fest but it's also an RNG fest waiting until you get a Pokemon with the proper nature and IVs.
It's using the Pokemons that the fun part, that's why so many people just gen their Pokemon for comp.
This, but the exact opposite. Outside of the old catching mechanics Pokemon is just another RPG. Catching is RNG but the game gives you multiple ways to improve your odds. The problem is that the stakes are too low so it just becomes tedious. When trying to catch a shiny legendary in gen 3, that's when the catching mechanics shine.
PLA was fun to catch mons in
Blood Moon Ursaluna
Never, spamming pokeballs for hours was as boring when I was a kid as it is today.
I was never excited when I finally caught a Legendary, it was more a feeling of "it's finally over".
playef platinum for the first time last year and catching Giratina was sick as frick. The way he's stalking you through the distortion world is a cool little build up
The first Area Zero sequence really stuck with me, even if the final-final battle is an autowin
You're over 30 years old playing a children's game.
This weekend when I finished EV training my Darkrai and Arceus in Platinum. Also having fun replaying BW1 shortly after.
sometime in gen 3 or 4 when I was a teenager with friends that played this shitty series with me
I would have to say on pokemon crystal when catching the legendaries or a shiny, then on pokemon emerald capturing legendaries.
True, Pokemon childishly easy and mostly unrewarding now
I get that they want to pander to 10 year olds but atleast leave in some challenge
PLA of course
the only time catching has been fun
The Genies in Legends Arceus were legitimately a nightmare to catch. Trying to catch rare spawns in time distortions was difficult as well.
I guess I did feel something in PLA since you actually sneak around, position properly, choose a suitable ball type etc.
Aka you actually have reasonable agency
In the other games it's same old "hit it until in the red and status and then just chuck balls". The only challenge they can add is either deny the catch with something like teleport, whirlwind or explosion or lengthen it with recovery and lowered catch rate.
I guess the raids are an attempt at fixing this and I could see it working. If only the raids didn't fricking suck ass
