bn1 is either the worst/second word battle network game (depends on how strongly you feel about bn4). battle network 2 alone added in asterisk chips, the ability to set 1 chip to always appear by default which makes folder building less of a nuisance, so i'd recommend at least giving that one a shot if you haven't tried any others
yeah I've got the legacy collections so I'll play them all eventually and I've heard it's only up from 1, but man that level and dungeon design was really getting to me, heard that those are much better in the sequels as well
I played BN1 multiple times as a kid. Got about halfway through BN2 years later before I lost interest. I should get the legacy collections but I just like platformer Megaman more than action RPG Megaman, plus said platformers are like an hour or two long each so I can pick one up whenever.
