When was the last time you used your VR headset? It's been close to a year for me.
I used to be a VR defender but I am now willing to admit it was a fad/gimmick. Half Life Alyx was the only full triple A game experience and no developer is making anything similar. It's all dumb ports of old games (ex, RE4) or games that feel like those shitty Wii shovelware minigame compilations.

the devices battery died after like 30 minutes of use. I haven't used it in almost a year now
How’s you get this picture of me. Kindly delete it
I think it's coming on a year since I turned on my PSVR1 even though I bought like a dozen or more games for the fricking thing I just can't get myself to put it on again
Go play Zone of the Enders MVRS and Tetris Effect.
Boneworks is the only game worth playing
Even that got old. I haven't touched my Index in months. There's just no good games to justify setting it up and getting in anymore.
Um no, that would be Blade & Sorcery.
Both are tech demos
Okay but it's a very fun tech demo that keeps getting updated.
It's been like three years for me. I warned you all that it's just a gimmick like Wii was but you gays just said it's the future of gayming and laugh it off.
wii has literally evolved into the switch
there are no two small wii motes with gyro aim, and its extremely successful
i played that propagation hotel horror game like 2 weeks ago. it was ok. kind of like a low budget resident evil. worth a pirate.
yesterday
I force myself to play beat saber 5 days a week
how skinny are you after that workout?
I like VR chat but I'm 33 and feel like a creep using it since it's either little kids or college aged ones.
Same experience here. Public worlds (especially Quest ones) are usually a non-starter for any socializing because of that. Fortunately, there's a few decent groups that are explicitly for adults (not for ERP shenanigans). Ancients of VRChat is probably the most active and populated one, as its got at least a couple thousand members with several weekly events. Virtual Relics is the Europe equivalent, but it's noticeably less active.
Both are good if you're into things like world-hops, games, or just meet & greets. In my experience, people's ages ranger anywhere from 18 to late 50's, but the average person seems to be around late 20's.
Yesterday, had a minor drink on VRC party. Other than that, using it a shit ton for racing vidya, occasional Blade&Sorcery that never gets old for me, recently tried Ghosts of Tabor (was pretty fun, but somehow didn't got hooked), hoping for 4chin Contractors lobby to drop any time soon so I can play some of that. Been thinking about replaying Into the Radius as well, this stuff has really decent replay value due to how much freedom you get in gameplay and how many different takes on equipment can you apply to your playthrough. B&S modding is also a pretty cool scene, found this breakable weapons mod recently for example.
It's only a fad if nothing works for you. If you're the right kind of person, fun never ends, I've been having VR headsets since early CV1 times and it just keeps giving.
Just find some fellow boomers and chill with them. They're easy to recognize because they're not screaming all the time.
only using it for vrchat weekly at this point.
the recent VR showcase stream was a fricking disaster.
everything is just Quest and they all looks like horrible VR game from 2017
least down bad meta customer
>looking down on others despite being obese
The old boomer is reaping what he sowed
Nah son he's not looking down, that's a look of pride in his eyes *slaps belly which jiggles horribly*
i tried VR for the first time in a big, omni-track + harness set up and it was still shit honestly. can't even imagine going through all the effort and money myself to have a strong enough PC + headset + hand wagglers all for like 3 games and some VR porn when i'm already too dead inside to jack off more than once every few weeks
almost 6 months now, although i didnt even touch it during covid
nothing big has come out, most of the VR-only titles were shit (Medal of Honor VR) or more episodic shit (Red Matter 2). The only recent thing I liked was I Expect You To Die 2
I might get a Meta 3 when it's cheap cos the Rift S makes iron sights a b***h, but it seems like Pavlov has really died off with the lack of new maps and lack of people playing non-TTT maps
All the action this year was in mods. Still waiting for praydog Injector release... if that ever happens. The one tester I follow has gone silent with vids. Maybe that's good news it's gonna actually release soon
I played Contractors modded content, it was okay but still sparse
Wednesday, I was playing Into The Radius and had some mission that involved clearing a camp full of mimics.
Cleared the zone with 3 handgun bullets left, having spent 5 rifle mags and all my syringes.
Actual peak ludo, nothing beats the immersion of being shot at in VR.
Into the Radius is kino but I'm too much of a coward to enjoy it. I love the gameplay autism though
Into The Radius is a moron's idea of what Stalker gameplay is like. I've never experienced such a clunky unfun piece of shit game and the art is horrible. It's telling how slim of pickings VRgays have when this is one of the most shilled games
I've played STALKER too you moron, and of course it doesn't close. No shooter gets close to STALKER at what it's good at, but ITR has great gun mechanics, unintrusive survival and some genuinely spooky enemies. The presentation is ugly as shit and it has barely any cool setpieces but the package as a whole is great and the devs have been updating and expanding it for years.
Last week I went on just to hang with a friend I hadn't seen in months. I used to go on every day, six hours a day at least, but that all died off when Covid ended and now it seems like such a fricking hassle to set things up and half the time they don't even fricking work properly.
10 minutes ago. Elite Dangerous.
was playing VaM yesterday
Yesterday for Thrill of the Fight. Also if you want a game like Alyx, try Vertigo 2 which came out a couple months ago. There's still some good stuff on VR. I'll agree that it's in a pretty dire state, but it's not completely tapped out yet.
I have a Rift S which was kind of neat when I first got it back in 2020 but it's been collecting dust ever since a week or so after I got it, with only a few uses since. To date I still haven't seen any killer apps for it, and it sucks even for VR porn since most content is either low effort, buggy/janky, or paywalled with seemingly no way to bypass that. Not to mention that VR videos need a moronicly high resolution to look even passable due to heavy artifacting and such.
As for the vidya side of things, it's mostly just VR ports of existing games where it's just kind of tacked on, or the game would otherwise just look and play better on a normal monitor. In general it's just a huge hassle to even use it, which isn't helped by the fricking thing forgetting my environment settings every time I boot it up, forcing me to map out my room again. It's gotten to the point where I just don't even bother.
Frankly I've been considering just selling my headset lately since I don't see myself using it again really, and even modern headsets aren't much more advanced, with some of them still failing to incorporate the absolute basics like proper mechanical IPD adjustment. Overall the tech seems to have mostly stagnated over the last few years from what I can tell.
>which isn't helped by the fricking thing forgetting my environment settings every time I boot it up, forcing me to map out my room again
i still don't understand why rift s has this issue, sometimes guardian just dies and forces me to remap mid game, it's annoying as all hell
Even Quest 2 guardian is buggy as hell. If you have a developer account you can just turn it off. Once a day I will turn it back on to make sure the floor is aligned and turn it back off. If you have a Matt or rug or something the guardian is pointless and an immersion breaker
And they never added a quick reset floor action
>To date I still haven't seen any killer apps for it, and it sucks even for VR porn since most content is either low effort, buggy/janky, or paywalled with seemingly no way to bypass that.
ptorrents dot com
I use mine everyday
Just last weekend and i'm about to use it again. Got some new koikatsu cards.
I found that it would get progressively blurry as I played and it bothered the hell put of me.
wow, an obvious thread made for the express purpose of shitting up VR discussion, lovely
>picture of ugly fatass using VR to make it loom bad
>irrelevant question
>"ehm guys, I used to love vr, I'm one of you guys! but I think it's time we admit it was always total SHIT!?!?"
have a nice day OP
Imagine being so insecure that you get this upset over somebody making light fun of himself, holy fricking shit. Did your step father just get done spanking you or something?
VRChat pedo identified
Ahahahah hahahaha, did you get kicked from your VRChat pedo group? Or worse, /vrg/?
Holy shit, what happened, my man? You obviously need to talk about it. Did your VR headset die? Did your VR boyfriend breakup with you?
yeah the anti vr spergs at this point are another form of the 'ick on 'eck poster. Even lower because at least that fat ass is somewhat funny
What is funny about some fat frick literally cumming all over his deck over and over?
Reminds me, Bradley just posted a video today using to rog handheld to run vr wirelessly using quest pro. It worked although set on potato
https://twitter.com/SadlyItsBradley/status/1669828617218453508?s=20
of ugly fatass using VR to make it loom bad
i have never seen a cute girl use VR outside of a fan convention.
>girls
>especially cute
>playing videogames
>especially niche
is this a joke?
even e-grills who pretend to play games to get attention avoid VR like the plague
>oh yeah, i'm not only a girl, but a girl who only pretends to play videogames for attention, so let me just go ahead and buy a whole fricking expensive-ass VR headset that will obstruct my extremely important face on camera
what were you expecting? what the frick kind of point are you even trying to make here with that "even"? that's dumber than the last one.
girls are a big part of the marketing of any product. VR fails at this.
i don't have a bigger point than this - all you VR autists should pay some hot onlyfans girls to take photos with a headset.
Yeah duh, because people who play games to get attention will obviously pick the biggest, most mass market games.
Trending games, mobas, etc
You can't just throw out an argument then ignore what follows by your own fricking argument in the same breath.
I wonder if this anon anticipated his embarassment lasting this long?
I play Pavlov daily
its too warm in bongland right now
*laughs in tropical region*
My laptop straight up crashes due to the heat.
Do you people not have air-conditioning in your third-world shitholes?
>third world shithole full of poor people
>air conditioning
Come on anon, think.
I'm a fatty still playing beat saber with weighted controllers, git gud
within the last week to jerk off to e-girls in virt a mate
Get off your mother's basement Jhon.
which headset are you using?
quest 1 using virtual desktop. the thing is so fricking buggy its unreal. ive lost count the amount of times I've taken off the headset for a few minutes then put it back on only for tracking to be completely fricked forcing me to reset it.
I don't know what it is, but Citori's elf loop for $1 on Steam gets me going every single fricking time. Nothing else in VR riles me up like it does, not professional videos or thots in VRChat with fullbody tracking and FBP avatars.
The what?
clitoris' self elf group
I played Ghosts of Tabor half an hour ago.
I use it more during the colder months, both alone and even with my family when everyone is sick of board games.
3 days ago to coom to bouncing boobies
Last night. Just trying to get my sea legs back. Played some Vrchat Prison guards until I got nauseous
Anyone play Breachers?
Played during the beta. It's good but I hate lack of matchmaking and using a server browser. Holding off purchase till its added but doubtful cause devs are not interested in it due to "esports" apparently
It's funny how flat FPS gays are always b***hing about their matchmaking systems, but they're sorely needed in low player count VR FPS games, none of which have matchmaking.
The b***hing is related to skill based match making then just matching the general population with each other. It's why I had to stop playing pop 1.since they added it I only get teamed up with literal first day players who got triple 0's. So I just get my kills n quit if i bother playing at all. Breachers needs it not due to player count but games get stale fast when you're playing the same team every match.
>tfw can't go back to old FPS after VR
>tfw can't get good at aiming in VR
Just takes practice.
Guns are okay, I can't figure out bows for some reason
I'm okay with aiming but I don't understand how there's so many people who can just lock onto your head instantly, especially playing Breachers. How???
I don't personally have much multiplayer VR shooter experience but you can aim with a lot more than just your eyes. If that game in particular is at all similar to real breaching and clearing, resting the gun near your torso and aiming with the full breadth of your body, or more likely your chest/hips makes things really easy in close quarters.
Plus practice.
Gabe was and is right about current VR.
Calling it VR is technically inaccurate anyways, it's a screen in front of your eyes.
Also headsets are too heavy and give full haptic set.
otherwise current VR can frick off
blatantly obvious you've either never used VR or are just being dishonest.
I used "VR" before it became as popular as now.
Was not impressed then and and I am very lightly impressed now.
>Half Life Alyx was the only full triple A game experience and no developer is making anything similar.
I liked Resident Evil 4 VR, Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, Star Wars Squadrons
Is Squadrons worth it in VR?
a couple of days ago playing System shock remake and postal brain damaged. Looking forward to using it on system shock 2 EE when it finally comes out next.
If you cant find any utility for this great immersive tool then you are officially a brainlet
To play videogames? A few months I guess. To jerk off? Daily
About 5 years I think. Maybe I'll get a new one when I upgrade my GPU.
Too many VR games are dependent on standing up and more full range movement, and it's annoying. I just want to be able to sit down and enjoy the visuals of the VR game.
Last time I used VR, I just used it to check out if the VR porn was really all people say it was.
why he fat
He American
Last year too. I bought it for VRChat to be honest but the fact that this game is still in fricking early access tells everything about the performances.
I tried a few games but a simple VR headset is just not enough for gaming motions. I think the real future is just the complete full motion set but right now it's way too fricking expensive for how much unreliable it is. I think the tech still needs a few years.
Lol it's not a game homosexual. It's an experimental platform that will always have more new experimental stuff added. Go play rec room with the other homosexuals
VR is not the problem, it's companies not taking risks like in the past, they're just playing it safe nowadays. If VR worked in the past it would have had its own golden era already, full of medium-defining games, but they didn't have the processing power back then.
I use it once a week or so to wank my wood
Been a year since I played something other than porn games
Hey lewie
A few months ago
used it a bit for the first time in a while to try hl2 vr
got the spins and threw up
VR is a meme.
I don't want to be immersed, I want to play a fun game with good OST, look at pretty graphics and experience a nice story. I hate people who advocate for escapism so much it's unreal.
Instead of wasting money for VR get yourself a nice monitor or TV.
>ITT people who have never used a VR headset
I borrowed a vr headset from my library for a weekend once and played a few games but seated vr sucks ass and I don't have standing room
>I don't have standing room
Isn't standing, literally standing?
you physically turn around and swing your arms and shit. i don't wanna kick my frickin desk
>kick
He lives in a closet
Last night. Did poly4dead for the first time on contractors. Was like a full campaign with like 10 others. Even had an edm clown. Shit was wild. Had to stop after cause legs were still sore from jumping back into pistol whip to try their new user created runs. Stop playing "aaa" goyslop and you'd might actually have some fun
It's been a year or two for me, as well. I bought an Index solely for Alyx, though, so anything else that I've played has just been an added bonus. If I never touch the thing again, I got my money's worth.
unless you regularly play flight/racing sims. VR is a complete gimmick and a waste of money.
I have the original HTC Vive, but it's such a hassle to get the whole thing setup, configured, etc. I might do it again, I always have fun when I use it, but it's not something I can just slap on and use. Pavlov is a super fun game, especially Trouble in terrorist town since it's not a game where PC users can instant aim and kill you.
homosexual friend of mine wanted me to spend 300$ on a quest instead of upgrading my cpu. so glad i didnt listen to him.
congrats on admiting how deep in denial you were. buyers remorse is a hell of a drug.
I don't have a problem with the headsets, my problem is with the marketing. They literally should've only marketed it towards sims, like flight sims or racing games. anything where you are always in the same position.
As soon as you can get an index for around $200 at the most then VR will take off.
Like 2 months ago to see how HL alyx looks like max res on with my 4090. It looked amazing but I already played the game so...
Just before totk, I'm probably going to play a few more games near the end of this month when there's another release.
Been a few months
Been too fricked up and off my schedule to attend any of the Japanese music events I normally go to
Still got some VR games I really wanna play, but desktop multiplayer games have really been drawing me away. Definitely more of a me issue than a lack of entertainment.
Probably 9 months to a year. Granted it wasn't by choice, I got in a car accident and fricked up my leg. I should go back and play some more RE4VR since I'm good now
RE4VR has a seated mode. I had to do my second run that way when I injured my hip.
I agree with you OP. I made an effort to play Fallout 4 VR a few weeks ago and was bored after a few hours. Haven't played with it otherwise for over a year. Was big into sims for a while too, but that got boring. No good new content and the narrow FOV fricking sucks. Everyone is focused on pancake lenses and 32K resolution and shit while every headset that isn't Pimax chinkshit looks like scuba goggles.
Even with the "limited" fov in vr, you're getting easily 3-6x more fov than playing flat
That's a dumb comparison. The point of VR is to immerse you in the world, and having limited peripheral vision destroys that illusion.
It's not a dumb comparison, you get 3-6x more immersed than flat
Yesterday. I loaded up some VaM
Get battle talent. Play like your life depends on your victory. Lose weight
I spend 6-9 hours a day on VR
And don't just flail your little noodle arms around. Full arm swings, follow through, use your rage
https://arch.b4k.co/v/search/image/Vp1O2d4--GR_tS95G7Tx8g/
yesterday, but my batteries died on me.
was playing a pretty fun roguelike shooter, its called compound.
It has indeed been months. Just nothing I'm interested in and standing around is tiring
>standing around is tiring
This medium was a way for you to spend a dumb amount of time playing video games without being a fat blob of shit and every gay in this thread has failed. If any of you have recently or will in the near future b***h about being fat, I want you to remember you had an alternative but you were too contrarian and elitist to use it. Sail on back to your fricking coomer waifu Bugman simulators, ill be dominating in TENNIS
Almost 10 months ago. Was on almost every day for 4-5h playing VRC and Pavlov.
Then got banned in VRC for using mods... didnt bother to create a new account.
I used my Quest 2 three days ago to play Alyx. It was unbelievable, the best experience I have ever have in a game. I play seated, as it makes me not be sick and I can relax at the same time and not tire myself out for the rest of the day. I do enough walking outside and standing at work that I am not overweight. I have the perscription lens inserts for the quest 2 so I can see optimally without having to put my glasses on inside the headset which is a nightmare.
I look forward to playing more Alyx tomorrow after work when I get off early. I also purchased TWD : Saints and Sinners and have it on my list. I also have the PSVR2, and am waiting for Re4 remake VR
Do you play it on PC or is there a way to sideload it to the quest 2?
steam VR
Like 4 days ago, maybe 3.
last weekend
Everyone wants to make the walled garden that gets all the money but no one wants to make the content. It's pathetic really.
Facebook should've used the nintendo model and made first party games that drive sales. Instead they thought they could be the steam store for VR and do nothing while taking a cut.
Sony is a little better but they're also moronic. No one wants to spend a lot of money on this accessory that is only useful for your one platform and has a short lifespan that ends when the PS6 comes out. You can do that bullshit for $60 controllers. You can't do that with a $550 display.
Valve just takes their sweet fricking time because they don't need to make money and it's basically a cushy job for a small elite. They like to make a single contribution every few years even though they have the power to hire motherfrickers and solo PCVR themselves.
And fricking apple is so fricking pretentious they won't make some controllers, mention them as a footnote, take the literally free marketshare. Windows is no longer a cyclone sucking up games. Why are they cucking themselves.
$550 is childs money now due to inflatiion. $550 is the new $200
It’s not too expensive, but it’s expensive enough to dissuade a substantial number of people still imo. But it is the best one when it comes to tech, obviously they wouldn’t have done it but imagine if they’d packaged one with every console, there’d probably be more of a push to make stuff for it. Capcom seems bizarrely dedicated towards it with their VR versions. I thought it’d be a gimmick for 7 but they’ve done it 3 times now.
>$550 is childs money now due to inflatiion. $550 is the new $200
moron APE Black person STFU
>Everyone wants to make the walled garden that gets all the money but no one wants to make the content
If (somehow) VR tech was made in the 2000s we'd have all sorts of fricking games with devs scrambling to make the next big thing.
In 2023 you're wasting time and money if you're capable of making a video game and not doing an always-online fad game full of cosmetic purchases.
It's fricking tragic to watch. Thank god Gaben still cares a little. HL:A showed what could be done and in a different time everyone would be competing to be the next big VR game, but that's just not where the money is. The daily revenue from fricking Fortnite and Roblox cards out-gross any and all revenue Alyx took in since it came out.
The problem is that Facebook sucks at making games. They tried, they're still trying, they're just bad at it.
There's no good app for my phone VR. Anyone using something good on android?
phone VR is basically dead, all devs moved to quest coz that's where the money is
unless you know chinese there are a lot of chinese VR phone apps
Yesterday. VR is for sims and only for sims. Too many people trying to use it for things it was never meant for. It's like trying to drive in screws with a hammer.
your pic rel is problematic
I'm tired of this moronic sentiment. VR is objective improvement of every shooter and every sword combat game.
they have to be sim shooters. If i reload by touching my belt or pressing a button it's a waste. I need to grip the mag/bullet/microfusion cell, open the bolt/battery bay and put the cartridge/mag in myself.
alyx was made for morons and it's like this
>If i reload by touching my belt or pressing a button it's a waste
It's perfectly tolerable, since you still have bebnefit of aiming, stereo and scale.
no dude, you should have to develop reloading as a skill. It makes you enjoy it more when you get good at reloading,
When it works but 50% of the games it barely works. The problem is primarily belt placement tracked by head instead of some kinda hip tracker.
It is also a waste if you don't get any fun and unrealistic movement mechanics to best take advantage of having depth perception. There is nothing wrong with sims, but it is better to have the same variety that you would expect outside of VR.
It's literally failed devs trying not to get left behind for being unable to dev for vr.
>every sword combat game
Genuinely this is what VR should be about
There's a recent one that came out called Battle Talent that's really fun. It's Dungeon Crawler/Sword Combat focused. I've been spending a lot of time with that one lately.
>Geforce GTX card and older Ryzen CPU with stock cooler
>But owns like $3000+ in simrig and VR equipment
I think you've got a little bit of backwards priorities for your purchases
i upgraded my GPU and i'm going to upgrade my CPU this winter. For the summer, i'm going to take my dad to japan for his retirement gift.
Neato, too bad a 3090 ti is still not enough to run ACC in VR smoothly
>ACC
competizone has no mods and is useless to me. I'm running somewhere around 50-85FPS depending on the track and weather, and i could probably squeeze more out if i fricked with the resolution scaling. Either way, software smooths it out enough to where it's a good, playable experience.
Pair that with my bass shakers and my wind generator when i reinstall that to my rig and i've got a nice little setup.
We really need a modern day Sim racer (highly modable) on pc.
they said assetto corsa 2 is coming out next year. AC1 modding is running at a cheetah's pace currently. I was hoping to hear some details during this year's big summer game thing, but nothing. Starfield looks nice.
Thanks! I'm going to rent cars and we're going to drive up and down hakone and tsubaki. I don't know if he just wants to ride with me or drive his own, but i did it in november and it was a blast. I rented the S30 and i'm probably going to rent it again.
you dont look like you have enough money to take anyone anywhere
you'd be suprised
is this supposed to be some sort of desirable travel destination?
>weebs think this souless dystopia is a nice touristic destination
ahahaha fricking losers!
sounds like a nice time with your father, anon. I hope you guys have fun
stock coolers are fine
For the CPU's at the time, yeah, but if you're even considering to run something like a ryzen 7900/50x or Intel 12th/13th gen on a plain old blower style cooler like that, you're leaving tons of performance headroom on the table that you can get out of even a 120mm AIO
They get hot enough to throttle? The frick? Not buying that shit
i'm never getting anything over 70 in games, so i keep the stock cooler. usually something around 63
no bro you need to spend money so your rig looks like picture on the internet dont look at numbers and understand them
Actually a CPU thermally throttling in a largely single core excercise like a video game sounds too moronic to be true
its for all gaming idiot. Anything fp view can be run through a 3d injector if they are modern enough. Trying to claim motion controls or sim autism switch boards are some absolute must is the old failed wii all over again with its gimmick as frick waggle stick
The biggest thing VR HMDs give is the immersion factor since you are not staring into the game world through a tiny little flat window anymore. What control scheme it has is distant second and third rate concern.
Yesterday.
Like summer 2020. When COVID was at its peak it gets piss drunk and hang out with people in a VR bar
Everyone says they use theirs mainly to fap, but I have no idea what good VR porn games I should look into
Even just tik tok that's, being able to blow it up big over a phone screen is a huge advantage. Plus live 3d vr cam girls on xhamster
heat
>Battery life, tracking and breathability is too shit for me to spend hours and hours getting good at competitive games like Contractors and Pavlov, not even mentioning that you need to buy an $80+ gunstock if you want to actually get past the skill bell curve
>Most every other game is wii tier shovelware
>Only been able to have fun playing modded Blade And Sorcery, Breachers and cool indie stuff like COMPOUND, and even then I haven't touched my headset in well over a couple months now
It really has stagnated, nobody wants to take the risk of making a VR masterpiece or making a real fully fledged and engaging MMORPG like most people have been waiting for since SAO came out, so all that's left is competitive type games and shovelware
About six months now. Girlfriend moved in with me and I feel like a dweebus playing vr where other people can see.
Also until the gf moved in I played it at least once a week every week for like five years
Gf moved in and now I play more than ever since she’s always on Beat Saber
I tried to use it in February but the damn thing locked me out because I didn't link a Facebook account.
My headset would collect dust without beat saber
I use it every week to watch porn. One of the best purchases of my life
>When was the last time you used your VR headset?
Last night, and I'm about to use it again to play Pavlov. Not reading the rest of your post, btw
I play it every other week or so. Basically any time I get the itch to shoot things. 90% of my play time is on Hotdogs Horseshoes and Hand Grenades. Its nothing like going to a range to shoot, but it's way cheaper than ammo. Plus I love how much shit gets added, feels like there's 2 or 3 new things to mess around with every time I boot it up. Otherwise I break it out to play Project Wingman, or Elite Dangerous since I've got a pretty nice joystick.
I have the old Oculus Rift S so I think it works for me because it's just plug and play. I don't have to set up lighthouses, and I have a set of rechargable batteries for the controllers. If it wasn't so easy then I probably wouldn't play as often. Or maybe I'm just autistic, idk.
>I have a set of rechargable batteries for the controllers
should we tell him?
About a year or so. Loved first wave, disliked nu wave.
Resi 4 did everything that they said you should never do in vr. Take away control and swap camera angles, but it got tons of praise. It was then that it died.
Also I got so used to vr that I dont get immersed anymore, and if you take that away, you're just playing wii games.
I only keep it around for race sims, but I havent played those for over a year as well. Just too many hoops to jump through.
Yesterday. All of last week. Today.
>n-no games!
There is games. We just don't play the same games and that's a key difference between you and myself OP.
Haven't gotten 1 headset yet but I've seen a good few games that look fun for it on steam although I count indie roguelikes
Can someone tell me the state of Vr Chat nowadays? I hear its gone belly up as there are no mods now
Many old users got hit by the several banwaves for using those mods. Even months later.
So you get many new users and kids, VRC is (very) slowly working on including things we had. Still shit communication with the userbase.
No publics, and groups are not findable. But if you're a solo mute it's still worthwhile
Being a mute and causing drama while doing literally nothing was fun.
On and off. Getting drunk and gay with the boys.
i haven't used my quest since facebook disabled it remotely lmao
>use 'Black person' as name in an offline single player game
>money stolen
Used my coof bucks on an Index, kind of regret it when the Quest 2 was a few months later for 1/3 the price but cooming and tetris was fun
Index is best upgrade bath to bigscreen beyond, kinda wish I had one right now for that.
This morning, technically. Played from 10pm to 6am playing the walking dead saints and sinners and blade and sorcery, was pretty fun though im still asshurt that alot of mods i loved haven't been updated most likely never will, though the integrated mod support is pretty cool.
What about porn?
If i thought VR was an utter disaster then i would have never infested in a VR treadmill for the extra step in immersion. I have roughly 105 games in library. Most of which were made in the past couple of years and are objective improvements in standards compared to games that were made back in 2017.
VR is a niche peripheral, just like a wheel and a hotas joystick
you don't use it casually or every day.
I don't know why poorgays pretend that VR is a failure if you're not plugged into it 24/7
you should get a quest, it's made to be used casually
can be playing vr in seconds, or in like a min if I want to play pcvr
Pavlov finally has crossplay between PC and console now so I’ve been playing that
I've been having fun with Bigscreen recently. Basically just a desktop viewer with enviroments and multiplayer. It's fun to hang out with 12 year olds and watch twerking vids on youtube. Really brings back the good old days
whats the best vr porn
>When was the last time you used your VR headset?
Whenever Alyx released. Finished it the same day and packed it away. VR still doesn't have any interesting games.
I'll use it a lot more once I get a more permanent setup for my racing wheel.
VR isn't a fad, it just isn't ready yet. But sims are the one place where VR is indisputably an improvement over flat screen. VR is perfect for racing/flight sims.
Also emulating dolphin with VR was awesome. If more ordinary games would support VR, I think it would take off more. Because even normal games are improved by VR IMO.
The thing that I don't like is the sweat and the heat. The technology will improve and it most likely will replace or atleast enhance flatscreen media of all types.
Just imagine, you could theoretically stand in the middle of a stage of a mocapped play. Honestly the potential of VR hasn't even been grazed.
nobody wants to sit there way dumb (and gay) goggles on
>Honestly the potential of VR hasn't even been grazed.
Funny, considering the experiences available haven't changed since 2019.
I have easily spent more time in VAM than any other game in the last year.
I played VRchat for a little. Skyrim VR is one of my top VR games as long as its packed full of mods. I'm always looking for more games or things to throw my FBX models into now.
https://www.mediafire.com/file/0ivuvejfr76x1c8/Princess_Mini_VRChat_Models.7z/file
Last time I used it was around 1.5 years ago. HL Alyx was fun for one play through, but that's about it. RE4 VR was enjoyable, but that is just because RE4 is good. Beat Saber is the only VR game that was fun for an extended period of time and that is because of how much mod content there.
if you want to use VR you should probably get in shape first.
unironically, most real people i see that complain VR is a meme are fat people and people that are out of shape.
last time i played VR tho was last april so.
Just Ignore the OP.
It's the same old douchegay that doesn't even have a PC to start with.
About 10 minutes ago when the controller batteries died
Today. Borderlands 2 VR. Contractor$, Rez Infinite
I've had it for 5 years and I use it every day. Longest I have gone without it was 2 weeks when I was on vacation
>Borderlands 2 VR
I just don't have the drive to play that solo. If i could play it multiplayer i would but FRICK gearbox and FRICK randy shitford. Anarchy mechromancer was fun for a bit though.
i totally understand. i'm a solo guy anyway so it doesn't bother me, but i do wish they made it online. if i was gonna try to get in the mood for multiplayer it would be for bl2 vr. it's my favorite replay value game besides maybe isaac
Waiting in praydog mod before I play through bl3 even tho I doubt my 1080 can handle it, vorpx made it want to explode
A lot of times I'm hesitant to put it on but once I do I'm in there till both my batteries die
Half-Life Alyx was the last. Dunno what could bring me back..Alyx 2 or HL3 I guess. Or if there was a quality single player mech game with compelling missions, great AI, customization mech bay you stand in and oversee construction of the mech.
last month. I currently don't have anything to play on it.
just finished playing blade and sorcery and onward
shit was so cash
I just got one. I'm not good at it.
ive told you that vr isnt video games
its a simulator and it suffers from a ton of technical problems
once its perfect its still something to replace/experience reality, not video games unless you decide to simulate a video game which is adding a useless layer
>adding a useless layer
Super hot VR is not a video game? but super hot flat is?
>muh not video games
always the most moronic type of people.
VR really ain't worth it yet, its fun to mess around with for a bit but unless you have low standards or are a homosexual there isn't much use for it.
I'm still waiting on the day where I can actually explore fantasy worlds with all my senses. Shooter combat is about the only thing VR games can do decently at the moment. Which is a shame because there are all sorts of control schemes I think would be at least exploring as an idea with VR games, such as vocal incantations for magic, giga cringe yes but at least it would be more immersive than hitting a trigger button or something. Fricking Orbus spellcasting was a cool idea but it was stuck in Orbus. Things will probably get better once AI progresses quite a ways further, but idk my estimate of 2+ decades minimum seems pretty realistic still.
> there are all sorts of control schemes
Imagine VR Xenoblade Chronicles X like game world with on foot shooting/exploring places mech cant reach and in mech piloting, fighting other mechs/beasts that on foot can't scratch...
this stuff is doable now but budget is the big restrictor, nobody willing to invest in such games.
I absolutely agree on the lack of mecha games being a disappointment. I did forget to mention that VR is suited for wienerpit simulators. I remember vox machinae actually being ok and fun, but I personally am not aware of many other mech VR games, other than like zone of enders. assetto corsa and elite dangerous are other good examples on the wienerpit sim genre. I would love to go around killing monsters with a mech. A decent mech game seems to be beyond the scope of any dev with intent for VR at the moment though. Maybe AC6 will generate some interest lol.
I’m currently playing Creed, RE8 and No Man’s Sky on the PSVR2. Just finished Saints & Sinners Retribution and really looking forward to Behemoth.
I’m still having a blast.
I play GT7 every day. Got plenty of other games for VR2 as well, but GT is just too damn fun.
A year and a half. I knew VR was nothing more than a meme, but I still bought a Quest 2 like a moron. At least that israeli frick Zuckerbergstein made me feel marginally better about my purchase when he raised the price by a full $100 a few months later.
>Half Life Alyx was the only full triple A game experience
It's a real shame. Valve showed what was possible with VR and then there was no follow-up. VR just slowly stagnated and faded away.
I have mine loaded with troony porn and use it daily.
Modern AAA ruined gaming and now Ganker complains that AAA doesn't come to VR.
Same, haven't touched my Index in ages. Alyx was kino, but almost everything else is just tech demo gimmick shit. Also, VR porn is insanely overrated, I'd rather jack off in front of a regular monitor.
>Alyx was kino, but almost everything else is just tech demo gimmick shi
If you think Alyx is still the best game in VR then you haven't played much.
There are like three other options max that even compete. Still not worth the investment for most people.
Why haven't you played it yet? you all say nothing has come since Alyx. This game is easily better than Half-Life Alyx, by miles. Perhaps HL:A has better presentation and polish as all higher budget titles do, but this is a better video game. It has better gameplay. An indie game was capable of beating out developers with much higher budgets, even in the AA development scene. I'd argue it's the best game in VR as of right now if you're looking for a good single player experience.
Wrong response
was meant for you
Yesterday, Into the Radius. We need more games that get what VR is good at like that and Ab Aeterno, also it's a shame Zucc is holding the market hostage.
You can try out Zona Project X VR, but i wouldn't necessarily recommend that game it in it's current state unless you want to support the development super early in. The combat isn't great and it's very barebones. But if you're looking for a metro clone then I'd easily recommend Paradox of Hope, that one is shaping up more nicely.
All I did on mine was play 3D flappy bird once. The other 30 times I put the headset on, it was for VR porn or to be disappointed by those 3D videos on youtube. I haven’t used that shit in over a year myself. They’re just way too inconvenient.
Whats the rear mirror for?
my dad owned one
he passed away last year
I just can't bring myself to use it
Just plug your nose and quickly open the casket
I'm patiently waiting for Geronimo because i have a feeling it's going to be good. I've always wanted a tactical shooter similar to SWAT in VR. Those kinds of games where physically peaking and breaching doors is going to work so well in this medium compared to flat screen. All of those slight little adjustsments you have to make with your own body is why that's going to be really cool. The closest we have to that right now is some really obscure indie game that doesn't look the greatest called Fast and Low. It's like some extremely janky version of SWAT's gameplay. Still it's actually fun and it has tight mechanics, but presentation is not great.
Oh and i almost forgot to mention Tactical Assault VR. If you have friends with a headset you should try that if you like tactical co-op shooters, because it's another good one. Some of it's mission structure might remind you of a SWAT game.
I don't use it because oculus and the rift s fricking suck. Uncomfortable, tiny fov, pathetic 80 Hz display. Constant hardware AND software issues that they never bothered addressing. Shouldn't have cheaped out, shouldn't have gotten a faceberg product.
Lesson learned.
Last week. I exclusively use VR for futa now
https://files.catbox.moe/lrn030.jpg
about 5 months, I just can't be fricked because I have no space to play in
Every day since I got PSVR2. GT7 and RE8 are both incredible, is there anything else worth buying? Heard good things about Red Matter 2 or whatever it's called.
>is there anything else worth buying?
If this is your first VR headset, I would recommend:
Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners
Budget Cuts Ultimate
Rez Infinite
Tetris Effect
Until You Fall
Pavlov
I'm unsure if nu Hitman works with your PSVR2 headset. But if it does then I'd play that personally. I wouldn't sell it on it's VR functionality, i just like the extra immersion with games like that.
my valve index is still sitting here not being used for over a year now
yesterday and planni
I would play more vr games if they didnt all have autism reload
I have arthritis and these games are inaccessible to me
Sweet Surrender doesn't require autism reload. Which i would personally mark as a point off against a VR game, but it's a decent little FPS roguelite you may enjoy. Although I'd rather play The Light Brigade or Compound personally.
>Although I'd rather play The Light Brigade or Compound personally.
me too but autism reload that gatekeeps me from the game
Got sick og feeling ill the second I put it on
You are supposed to not enjoy it the first few times until you eventually get used to the pain. Its like bottoming
Probably almost 2 years ago or something. For me, VR just isn't enough. I played the VR version of RE4 and it was great. It was really fun. But to me it just isn't enough outside the "gimmick" aspect of using guns in first person. What I really want is that like anime-level deep dive kind of shit where you're really in the game and everything feels "real". I guess I'll probably never get that in my lifetime but I can hope.
>outside the "gimmick" aspect of using guns in first person
What's gimicky about aiming a gun in first person? gaming in general is a gimicky toy if we're speaking objectively here. E-sports is also a meme.
I'm saying everything I play in VR, even if it's a good game, just makes me want it to be the "more" version. If we had that deep dive level of VR/AR I think I would enjoy it or play it more. Cause when I play VR I do or want to do shit like move my body to jump or climb, but at best you stand in place and just mime it out. It pulls you out of it so quickly because you aren't doing it like it was real but just doing it because it's your controller. And stuff like FPSes or some melee fighting games in VR is great fun. But it still just makes me want more.
Plus I think the sense of scale in most VR games isn't real. Everything either feels artificially small or artificially big which is a bit odd. I want to play an FPS game and have it feel entirely real, I want to play adventure games or RPGs and really feel like I am in that world and living there and all that shit. But like I said, that won't happen in my life time.
>but at best you stand in place and just mime it out.
I couldn't get into VR without the walking, so i opted for the expensive treadmill. That makes it feel more engaging to be honest, it so close to 'I'm there' but it's not completely 1:1. It translates joystick movement into your regular movement, there's obvious flaws to that. But it's much more immersive. Standing in place or having the restricted playspace wasn't for me. As far as hands go i don't mind what Valve Knuckles do, but i would like proper VR gloves to come eventually and be standardized like controllers are. Jumping is something that kind of takes me out of it, but it's not a huge deal for me.
>Everything either feels artificially small or artificially big
I haven't really experienced what you're describing. There's certain things where scaling doesn't look correct and i would agree that looks shit when it happens.
>Just makes me want it to be the "more" version
I'm still in the process of saving up for the haptics vest. There's a lot more investment required if you want to get the most out of it i guess. And even then it's not going to be like deep dive, you're just trying to get it feeling as engaging as possible. understand your perspective but what is already on offer is satisfying enough for me right now. If you were saying this back in 2017 i would have called it shit back then as well.
Any tips on the treadmill, I hardly use mine
Which one do you have? i have katwalk c2+. The only advice i can give you is to lean forward more often and the walking and it will feel easier, also turn on air conditioning because in case you haven't noticed it gets sweaty very quickly depending on how intense you get with it. It's a learning effort to get good at it. The way i learned to do small micro movements and side stepping was quite literally playing Black Mesa VR (beta) Source opening level of Uplink fighting against HECU. There was this one good area of where it's so painfully punishing if you're walking/running for real (i just binded the boost dash to controller). Because you have to navigate a quick series of sharp turns while followed by more sharp turns down a stair case and then run across a whole garage/storage area until you find cover all while being fired at, likely you'll die if you stop for too long. It would seem so natural to do that IRL like it was effortless, but of course the treadmill isn't like that if you've used it. It kind of feels awful for quite some time at first until you learn how it works, you have to build up a strong muscle memory. So yeah practice makes perfect, there's a good training course in Pavlov to also get good at this if you're having trouble with those quick turns quick turns on the fly or just adjustments like that. With peaking in and out of cover you can choose joystick movement if you're really struggling with that stuff. I'm still trying to figure out how cruise control works for strafing. i get it to go up and down but i can't figure out side to side yet. Turning your kat gateway sensitivity up on games is also something you have to fiddle with to get to your liking. In HL Alyx you have to do a launch parameter to change the walking speed in that. Look for changing the walking speed if you can in games, it helps if the gateway sensitivity isn't enough for you.
I found the glide setting works better than the default. I turn off the body sensor cause it sucks, want to maybe try strapping directly to the body (should just need to rig a reset "button" for that to be possible.) I got the c2+ but if I didn't manage to get it used for as low as 800$ I'd be pretty pissed especially with how shit the "chair" is. Although it was pre built so maybe they put the chair together wrong (I dont see how) but that thing is painful and hard af to get up from. Thinking about removing it. The awkwardness is what bugs me. Always feel like I'm about to fall slapping my face. Currently have given up on using in vr and just use as a regular treadmill when I can get myself to do it hoping if I get my stamina up I'll hate it less in vr. There have been brief moments when the immersion just fits and feels like I'm actually walking but it's so jank that it's almost always just a moment
I love VR. Been playing non-stop since I got a headset like 3 months ago.
Even shit games like Elite Dangerous and Skyrim are fun in VR.
Webm related, some gorilla tag single player clone. Took me half an hour to get this course down and I was sweating worse than in a sauna.
There's so much stuff I want to play. I've only got like 15 or so games in my steam library and about 10x as many in my wishlist. I didn't even get into VRChat autism yet and really don't feel the need to.
I've been meaning to play this one, looks neat. I always thought the concept of Gorilla Tag could be turned into an interesting platformer.
>imagine missing the virtual market in a few weeks
I have no idea what you're talking about
Vket. Vket is usually the only time I go into vrchat for longer than a couple hours
What do you do there? I never even tried VRC
It'd like a convention type event where creators have booths and stuff to showcase what they make/sell. So lots of avatars and world assets, shades being shown off. If your new most public words are empty, vket is the exception it not a ghost town. Some avatars have free versions you can keep. Usually seasonal specfic worlds. It just makes vrchat actually feel alive since the trannies killed public vrchat over eac drama. Also it's mostly japs and japs are more interesting in there than all femboys n furries that the west brings
There's some older ones you can check out if you search vket but they don't always leave em available. I missed the last one and they pulled em
>What do you do there?
Has this guys stuff been uploaded anywhere like kemono?
>what do you do on vket
you can browse avatars and assets, try them on, buy them, it's something between low art exhibition and clothing store
>what do you do in vrchat
Play all kinds of games, from basic golf and 8ball to quick draw game (with 3d and body presence to compliment your expression) and various flavors of murder game/among us, explore random worlds (you'd be surprised how insanely diverse they are, you'll always find something extremely unique just by entering them at random), screw around with your avatar and then show off to people, last and not least drink and talk. Depending on where you go, you may find tons of like-minded nerds, and happy nerds are best kind of people to have a nice talk with. It's hard to explain what exactly is so good about it, every time I join the game I'm feeling like I'll be bored, every time I join I'm ending session at 5am in the morning, all happy about all of the shit i've done, unable to pinpoint what exactly was so nice about it.

What are porn and porn games like? Isn't that amazing?
It's god tier, best nuts of my life. My gf cant compete
I've only had a very limited experience with VR porn games so far, but I'm not entirely sold on it yet. I have enough privacy with my living situation, but I can't quiet get over how goofy it feels to use my actual hands to pantomime groping a 3D model. It's also uncomfortable to jerk off while you're wearing a headset. I'm sure this comes down to whatever your own 'sensitivities' are when it comes to busting your nut, but it takes me out of the moment too much to find it worth the hassle.
Well. It's great, but it's harder to find videos (usually thots have ugly-ass faces), it's harder to find decent quality (you need like 6-8K resolution). That's videos, and games is another can of worms, they are either low-effort, or it's Virt-A-mate, and I tell you, this shit is harder to control than a fricking airplane.
Honey select 1 has legit shit ui implementation
Honey select 2 improved massively upon with and is one handed
Virt-a-mate is a very powerful tool that allows you to create your own orgies as opposed to canned animations like the previous two. Downside is the rather steep learning curve as you need to experiment a lot with the very extensive options and rely on crucial third party plugins like acidbubbles timeline for the actual animation work
Yes, and that’s how you know VR is the future. Porn literally dictates where technology heads and anyone denying this is literally celibate and will remove themselves from the gene pool anyway
>Yes, and that’s how you know VR is the future.
I actually like VR quite a bit and I wish people would start saying "part of the future" instead of "the future", like I think Time Crisis 2 and House of the Dead 2 are some of the most fun games ever made, that doesn't mean I want literally every FPS game to be a light gun rail shooter, just like I don't want every game in the future to be a VR game. Some of my favorite VR things are stuff like Phasmophobia and VRChat where there's crossplay between VR and Non VR players. It means I can just boot up a game I like in desktop mode when I'm feeling too exhausted from work to hop in VR, but also get immersed as frick when I am ready for VR.
VR will kill pancake gaming like pancake gaming killed TV. It’s still there but only because existing users are unwilling to give up the medium they are comfortable with. I’m sure the number of new TV consumers each year is dramatically smaller than the number of new gamers
Come on man I know what it's like to want something to succeed like this, after all I love VR myself and linux gaming but what you're projecting is just simply unrealistic and you remind me of the people who said that 3D TVs would be around forever, or ultrawide monitors becoming popular, or 8k being at all worth buying when games are so unoptimized nowadays because of careless developers that even running a game at 4k on top of the line hardware is a big ask, and I would go as far as to say a VR *only* future is undesirable. What I want out of the future is a good variety of VR and Non VR games, the best stuff is VR/NonVR co-op crossplay.
>the best stuff is VR/NonVR co-op crossplay.
I can't even name 5 games
I can.
>Risk of Rain 2 (VR Mod)
>Phasmophobia

>Not a game
>Implying a mod makes it not valid
>opinion
>Rec Room has quests like rise of jumbotron it absolutely is a game
>Yeah I'll give you this but I was referring to how it was before the payday 2 update that fricked everything, that doesn't invalidate how fun it WAS
>VRChat has games in it.
Also Valheim.
So what it's a mod? It's better way to play game than original.
I agree with your point. Most hours I have had with VR have been rigging regular flat only games to run in full 3d. Still using mouse/keyboard/controller whatever. The pure immersion factor gives even old, already played games a new breath of life. Wished devs would stop with this wankery how VR versin automatically means costum controls with the motion things and all the other redesigned systems that go with it. Tweaking fov, resolutions, anti aliasing and UI elements to be in the headsets periphery is piss easy and will not take more then a couple of days work. Easily most of anything in first person view could have a basic VR mod going for it without no trouble
WHY IS HE MORBIDLY OBESE
doj was a black dragon-slaying hunter in the second age and heir to /mhg/, until he sacrificed everything to diddle a young girl in algeria. He tamed a e-girl and formed a close bond with it, leading it to countless adventures and hunts. He is a former king. However, it is not known where he is, some say he decided to live a peaceful life with the e-girl.
Ryukishi, another relic of the Second Age, left the ruined kingdom of /mhg/ he once guarded in search of doj.
It is heavily implied that doj is the long-speculated firstborn child of SOUL, The Lord of the Hunt in the First Age.
oops wrong tab
oh frick off I don't need you to ruin another hobby for me doj
go play your kiddie games on your deck instead
vr is for homosexuals to go on vr chat and roleplay as a girl anime girl because they're a troony. You can't convince me of anything different. There is no in between.
>There is no in between.
I don't even play VRchat, i used to go on there on flatscreen and grief servers. I haven't really done that since getting a headset and just playing games on it.
last week, its uniroinically amazing me 3 years after I got my first unit. Its not a gimick, but you're entitled to your opinion, its just that Apple, Meta, Valve, HTC, etc etc etc disagree with it.
Two years ago. Ive been living in limbo with no room. Soon to change as I just bought a house.
Is that Jeff Gerstmann?
I'm gonna set up my vr racing rig next month and get back on the ring
last week, was flying up the pooper of my waifu
I still use it quite frequently.
Games I'm looking forward to right now:
>Crossfire: Sierra Squad
>The Burst
>Sushi Ben VR
>Dungeon Full Dive
>Paint the Town Red VR
>Retropolis 2
Games I plan to buy soon:
>TOSS!
>VR Giants
>We Are One
Games I play the absolute shit out of:
>GZDoom VR
>Demeo
>Hot Dogs Horseshoes & Hand Grenades
>The Light Brigade
>Zenith: The Last City
>Vivecraft (Minecraft VR)
Games I want to play more:
>BallisticNG
>Into The Radius VR
>Pistol Whip
>Cards & Tankards
>Ultrawings
>Walking Dead Saints & Sinners
>Vertigo Remastered/Vertigo 2
>Budget Cuts/Budget Cuts 2
Honestly if VR games stopped being made tomorrow cold turkey VRChat would last me till the end of time and alone would have made my headset worth buying because it's an infinite free content generator. Sucks that you don't have the same experience.
Is Zenith actually good? I thought about getting into it but the last time i tried an "mmo" was that township tale game.
No. Don't get it unless it's in a humble/fanatical bundle. For like 5$ equivalent
I did get it in a humble bundle so i guess i'll give it a shot for the weekend.
I'm also curious about this.
Zenith is currently the best VR MMO that exists. That being said, it's no final fantasy 14 or world of warcraft, but I absolutely adore the way you make healing items and craft stuff in Zenith.
>Is Zenith actually good?
It's alright i suppose, I wouldn't call it great because good MMO's are just hard to make, but it's worth picking up if you're curious. I got it in a bundle for free so i enjoyed my small time with it, but i wouldn't say i got super invested. Honestly I'd keep an eye out for Ilysia instead if you can wait a little longer, because i think that's going to be the game that's going to draw in a lot of people.
Crossfire is the only unreleased actually made for vr im interested in. That and if sentry actually does a vr version, dev hinted at it in twitter at one point. Once the praydog mod drops the drought will be over. Hopefully the release it before September but I doubt it
Might want to add Into the Darkness on your wishlist as well. It's another Bonelab/Boneworks sort of game to do with physics (webm related). And Hellsweeper VR as well.
I played the Demo of Into The Darkness in one of the first next fests it showed up in, and it felt jank, and not in the fun kind of jank way where you can do immersive sim type shit like in boneworks, like, everything felt sluggish and unresponsive, and not in the "things have actual weight to them" kind of way that Blade & Sorcery has and more in the "the weight for everything is overtuned to be heavier than it should be so you can't john wick your enemies in a satisfying fashion" sort of way, which would be good in a survival horror game but not in a boneworks style game. I'll give it a shot again next steam next fest to see if things have changed.
I've also kinda been over shooting at robots and slashing at skeletons since before Half Life Alyx came out.
>I'll give it a shot again next steam next fest to see if things have changed
Is the demo going up in the next festival? I'd like to see if it's improved as well. I thought it had potential maybe if they polished it a bit more. I'm more cautiously optimistic that they'd have fine tuned it. I'd like to see Stress Level 0 to make another game.
Yesterday, iRacing
Man the more I think about it VR looks moronic
what headset would be a great (and reasonable priced) upgrade to a samsung hmd odyssey?
literally 10 hours ago, it's fun
>When was the last time you used your VR headset?
yesterday, for a 5h SexLikeReal and VirtAMate cooming session
Last weekend. Walkabout mini golf is the way our family gets together long distance once a week to do something.
That game is so fricking good it's unreal.
Indeed. Even if I didn't have family to do it with I'd still be eating up all the courses. The amount of value you get for each course is great. 18 balls, 2 versions of the course, a hard mode that's actually difficult more often than not, and a club per course behind a scavenger hunt is awesome. All the physics are pretty spot on and online doesn't hiccup almost at all. It's just solid.
Last night, it's legit part of my workout routine until my town's new gym opens in September.
>Pavlov on PC is mostly dead
>Pavlov native on Quest is active as frick
>all little kids and the game looks hideous
There's no crossplay? Also it's werid pavlov is dead on PC when steam shows it hits 600-700 players peak on most days.
I play contractors a bit and there's always fun games EU/US East time even though the steam playerbase is like peak 100 players
Pavlov just got a massive update
Including crossplay
Now that PC players can play with PSVR players, I see tons of lobbies up now
It's okay guys, Apple pro vision is going to bring vr/ar gaming to glory
Jej
>$3500
I'm practically a VR fanboy and I wouldn't pay that much for a headset, I could barely justify the cost of my index, even though VR gaming shot up to my most used stuff on steam collectively.
Yeah 100% it’s going to change the game. I liked my reverb G2 but the step to my Quest Pro was dramatic. I use it nearly every day. I can only imagine how huge the leap is going to be to Apple Vision Pro
Looks like Jeff Gerstmann.
last week, works been kicking my ass and i haven't had the energy for it.
its not a gimmick, its just taxing for a number of reasons and life doesn't make it easy to get into.
>Have friend from several years ago
>See he's playing VRC
>Want to join in because he's fun to hang out with
>Remember how all his other friends are extremely cringeworthy, from how one guy REEEEs unironically, to how all of them have very sexual avatars (not sexY, sexUAL, as in, being extremely scantily clad with ridiculous proportions straight out of hentai and over-the-top jiggle effects and outright nude versions for whenever someone isn't streaming)
>Decide against it
I have no qualms about dudes using avatars of sexy anime characters, even with huge boobs and jiggle physics and such, but their avatars clearly go well beyond that and it's incredibly awkward trying to take them seriously. It's like someone wearing a body pillow of a nude character, but without a hint of humor or irony.
I'm so desensitized to that shit that I barely even notice it anymore, if someone tries to ERP with me I just instantly block them in VRChat cause I have no interest in having contact-less sexytime with a troon or a man in a female avatar. I'm mostly there in VRChat to get cozy and maybe talk to people here and there, I seriously don't know what people get out of ERPing in a game where there's almost no actual women playing and even the avatars that are meant to be "sexy" look like fricking deviant art OC tier overdesigned prostitute avatars with fishnets, glowing purple/red eyes, etc. I can't take it seriously either.
>even the avatars that are meant to be "sexy" look like fricking deviant art OC tier overdesigned prostitute avatars with fishnets, glowing purple/red eyes, etc.
Thank you for this description, anon. I struggled to find the right words to convey why they're so weird compared to just a regular "sexy anime girl with huge boobs" type of character, and "DeviantArt OC-tier overdesigned prostitute avatar" does so very well.
It's weird how the outfits are all the same type of shit, too. They're all black with bright, shiny buckles or studs, with any color being some kind of glowing neon text. It's like they never discovered that the contrast slider isn't meant to be always cranked to the max, or as if the first people they got boners to were "scene girls" and they literally never grew out of that.
The established term for them is TDAs.
What does that stand for?
I sank hundreds of hours into VRChat myself, though I started dropping it a little bit before Udon arrived. After seeing what people were working on and how much they managed to accomplish with the extremely limited tools available prior to Udon's release (I remember some maps trying to recreate components of SAO, and even though I hate SAO, they were damn impressive), I really thought Udon would open the floodgates to extremely awesome shit. Instead, they've all been like, the most puny and meager of minigames, or just setups to facilitate social deduction games like Secret Hitler (which are games that I despise; I loathe lying and being lied to). The most elaborate ones I've found tend to be just collecting keys/hitting a series of buttons to get to some elaborate animation to play. The worlds can be fun to explore, but it's like exploring old creative-mode Minecraft servers that are essentially just art galleries. Cool to look around, but it quickly gets tiring when there's not much to actually do.
>Thank you for this description, anon.
You're welcome, but I really think you're missing out on some good stuff by avoiding VRChat because of these people's poor taste in avatars. There's a reason why when people start up VRChat we sink hundreds of hours into it, there's just so much cool shit to see, from inherently cozy places that are nice to set up a virtual desktop in to straight up sci fi bullshit like the kind of stuff I used to see in Vket.
I never go into VRChat to just hang out in the popular active worlds, that's like going to youtube for the trending tab, of course you're gonna find normalgay NPCs inhabiting that space because it took no effort to find that, no sense of exploration was needed, and VRChat is at it's best when you find niche smaller communities and worlds that specialize in specific interests that align with yours, and they're out there, at least for me.
>I have no qualms about dudes using avatars of sexy anime characters
Why?
Why are friends allowing each other to do this? Why are men not keeping other men in line? VR is rampant with autogynephilia. Presenting yourself as a woman is warping male sexuality, and putting sexuality where it doesn't belong.
>Why?
The novelty and humor. I'm a stout, hairy, bald, bearded dude in real life, and playing as some cutesy anime character is funny to me. However, I still absolutely draw the line at anyone using voice changers or trying to get physical (e.g. "haha dude play with my breasts isn't this so silly heehee"). A dude who is clearly a dude playing as a female character is fine, a dude actually pretending to be a woman (e.g. by changing his voice) is not. Similarly, a dude being touchy-feely with other dudes is simply gay, and I'm not into that, so I don't want to see it or have anyone behave that way to me.
This is cope. Males using VR like a lot of things, a lot of things would be cute and ironic, but its almost always cute and sexy anime girls. I know what's going on. You know what's going on.
i tell you how things are. just because you can't imagine mindsets different from yours, doesn't mean other people are "coping" with something you made up and want to be true. as i said, it's cute and sexy anime girls because people like to see them, not because they all want to be one.
you westerners with your troony menace are just mindbroken into paranoia about these things way too much. 10 or 20 years ago these thoughts wouldn't have even crossed your mind from something as mild as an anime girl avatar.
people often use things they like as their avatars. both for stuff like forums and chats, as well as bideogames, including vrchat. it doesn't necessarily mean that you present yourself as that, or that you want to be that. way more often it's either a signal or just simply something you like seeing. people do not associate themselves with their avatars as closely as you imagine. some might, but for the vast majority autogynephilia has nothing to do with it at all.
Ironically, weirder people tend to use more normal avatars, as they actually care about their expression as animu character. Overly sexual ones are primarily used by people who simply don't make any attempts of expression in game, they just grab first nasty-ass thick girl and use it because there's no connection in their mind between them and their avatar, and so they don't get to feel right from wrong for a given situation. loose avatars also became kind of a default(?), an unusually socially acceptable thing, the way to present yourself as "one of us". It's a very reversed logic, but the weirder person is, the more normal their avatar gets.
Cant think of enough games that justify me investing in a separate platform just for the gimmick of looking around and touching stuff.
Every other day for Beat Saber workout. VR is meh for most things, but it's the most fun I've had with a rhythm game.
I like beat saber a lot but so many people don't know how to make fun charts with actual flow to them that you can groove to, it's all through the fire and the flames type autism for high skill streamers. I hope Pistol Whip now that it has Pistol Mix doesn't fall into the same fate.
I haven't used it in a year because I just don't have the room and I can't be arsed to hook it up. I got a computer that can handle it though so I still have a desire to play VR.
I'd use the Quest more if it wasn't so awkward to connect it the the desktop pc with a cable that easily detaches. Also the whole ritual that goes with it - cleaning the lenses, adjusting the straps, wiping down the face pads, attaching and adjusting the headphones, getting into a comfortable position, making sure the batteries are charged in the controllers, ensuring the headset is fully charged. And then when you have done all this, the cable pops out and everything goes to shit. Talk about inconvenient.
Bro, you can airlink your Quest wirelessly to your PC. I play PCVR wireless all the time. Get with the times.
I knew someone would reply like this. No, the airlink does not work satisfactorily. If it did, why would I be using the cable? This also does not dismiss the rest of the issues.
Cable is trash. Tried it and returned it. Fix your wifi setup and use virtual desktop (airlink ui sucks and uses like 20% more resources)
not that anon but
>bro just fix your wifi setup it's super simple
man, if I could, I would. Nobody is *satisfied* when they have a subpar experience with something unless you're one of those bootlicker pricks with no standards on twitter and the steam forums who thinks *you're* the problem for complaining when a game releases in a poor technical state and should just accept whatever slop you got for your money.
Like, if I could fix my wifi, I absolutely would. But sometimes you just have shit hardware and a shit ISP and it takes time and money to replace infrastructure.
Isp doesn't matter. Just wire your pc to a dedicated cheap 40-60$ router that has 5ghz seperate from 2.4 using a cat 6 ethernet cord.
I bought a HTC Vive during COVID and then just sold it off in less than a year.
Truly, the WAGGLIN' of our time.
I've said it since I got one like 4 years ago.
If you're not into sim shit it's not worth the money. Sim shit is the only thing VR has excelled at since the start due to immersion. Being able to turn your head driving for example is underrated as frick. But if you're not into this shit it's an absolute waste of money unless you like VR chat level bullshit
For me I grew up with a Guncon 2 and Dance Dance Revolution mat and VR feels like the evolution of both of those things, I missed that shit so much and I get it back with stuff like Horizon Vanguard and Beat Saber.
Also playing GZdoom mods in VR is super satisfying, since it's fast paced and gore mods give stuff a lot of satisfying heft to the weaponry. It's not just VRChat that keeps me occupied.
I hope New Blood do more of this. It was awesome.
What's awesome about it?
I just don't get. Beat the first level on hard, it was piss easy because enemies are fricking braindead.
When the awesomeness starts?
Eh yeah the AI i has problems. I don't know why that became a thing or if it will ever be fixed. It wasn't great to begin with in the original game but it seems slightly worse in this version. For me it's seemed more situational where it works fine like 3 out of 5 times. Then you have enemies going full braindead mode randomly on the other half of times it decides to play up.
fat people make me sick
this, issue is clearly that his fat and its painful for him to exist, rather than the headset being designed badly
cause its not about AAA but VR related stuff on pc and porn and stuff that suits VR,only plebs get a console vr set
once a week to play beatsaber.
Is the Saints and Sinners sequel any good? I've seen a lot of reports of it running like absolute ass and crashing a lot. I loved the first game and it actually kept me interested enough to play to the end.
blasted my way through HL2VR when that came out. the episodes were released in VR and i didn't even notice, haven't played those yet. but overall i've gotten my fill on VR. i don't play random junk anymore, something clearly good has to come out to get me to use it.
still glad i own it to dab on poorgays
Ill usually play Jet Island and Compound once or twice a week
I dont regret my rift at all
Wait what about the porn?
WHY IS HIS FACE SO OBESE
That looks like a fairly small amount of body fat for an average person I'd say?
yesterday for pavlov and b&s
maybe helps not being fat.
I use VR at work every day cause I'm a Meta QA technician, my own headset? I sold it 2 years ago
Alright, so who cares exactly? does that make you some kind of authority on the state of VR or something? shut up the frick up Raj. Getting a job at facebook isn't that impressive.
I kinda want a VR headset just to watch movies and for 3D content, like the 3DS but less shit. I don't care about the hand tracking aspect of it.
use quest2, I remember someone even played a 3ds emulator in it with the stereo effect
The other day.
I hang out with an extremely private group of well known VR Chat content creators to drink and play games with. This includes avatar makers, world makers, vtubers, and misc artists.
Koikatsu yesterday and i will use it again in 2-3 hours.
bonelab when it came out
I liked it alot even though alot of people didn't.
8/10 boneworks is better
VR melee is always so shit. im almost making a VR melee game for real just to show how incel every other VR melee game is
it would be a mordhau moment but for VR
Good luck, gayet.
I really hope you are not using unity though, otherwise my condolences.
I mean it's a fricking skyrim mod you can't really expect much from it.
I think it's fine in the walking dead where every weapon has a physics simulation. Like swinging an axe compared to a screwdriver you really feel the weight of it.
I don't really see how mordhau combat would work for VR. In the end mordhau is super simplystic and work because you've got attack commitement and like 4 angles of attacks. How do you replicate that in VR?
B&S nails the physics even if the AI leaves something to be desired, I watch autistic sword youtubers demonstrate proper form and techniques, then download mods for those swords if the game doesn't have them like katanas and practice the parries and strikes and it all works properly, there's no glitchy physics jank like Boneworks had
Like 2 weeks. Been waiting for some new mods for blade&sorcery to come out. Its the only game I have for it but its also based as frick
I watched Melody Marks Swollow Bay video this morning. My quest sole purpose is viewing porn.
