When will all video games start running on GNU/Linux?

Pic rel is probably one of the worst offenders.

nothing is stopping game developers from making their games run on Linux

Well when is it going to happen, what's your time estimate?

The Linux community just has to do it like Apple, you have to bribe big Studios to port their games over to Linux.

          Anonymous

They don't even have to port it. If they use easy anticheat they can press one button to enable linux support. But that disables kernel level Spyware and they don't want to remove that.

Valve's Steam Deck pretty much did the job, Steam forced Ubishit to have For Honor work on Linux, which is the only game I gave a shit about that didn't work right away

        >all video games
        >absolutely fricking all video games
        never
because there will always be at least one gamedev who is a massive homosexual
most of the games can already run on Linux
it will take about 5 more years for Linux to become so good at running video games that even the dullest of morons will be able to use it

Approximately around the time german trains are going to be punctual again, so according to db in 2070.
Anyone playing valorant is dying of aids before that anyway.

"most" games already run, protondb says around 60% of steam games are playable so
if you consider non-steam games this should be around the average percentage as well

What percentage of competitive FPS games are playble?

well i dont know how to filter by genre
some games that work: cs, ow2, older cod games (up to bo3 iirc), apex legends
it solely depends on whether the games anti-cheat allows running the game on wine or not, usuallu the games themselfes work just fine

967 out of 1000 top Steam games are working, does that count as "all (most)"?

That doesn't mean they run good or don't stutter.

CSGO is atrociously bad in frametime and stuttering on linux

you want to install litteral rootkits on your computer to play a videogame? any game that doesnt require kernel level anti cheat already works. any game that does require this has no place on a personal computer if you value any kind of privacy, security and ownership.

God. Valorant is such a shitty game. It ACTUALLY has peeker advantage because how badly server sync is implemented. If you peek behind the wall first, in 90% cases you have a serious advantage because you already see full enemy's body while they only see the half of yours. And guess what? The entire game is about walls. And don't even make me go on about their rating system deliberately designed to keep you down. Ri*t games are made for self-hating cucks and losers.

correction: all matchmaking games are made for self-hating cucks and losers. Imagine willingly locking yourself down in a team of 4-9 morons and larping as playing a "competitive" scene.
