I keep playing them for a long time. I like running around and bonking dragons on the noggin with an anvil on a stick. I hunt because I actually like hunting monsters. I can spend a thousand hours on any on entry if I dig it.
The only way to stop playing in the endgame is to either achieve all your goals for equipment(impossible) or realize you're on a grind treadmill and hop off of it.
The core gameplay of Monster Hunter is great but once you're over that you're left to trying out different weapons. That's why the most agreeable way to expand reasonable playtime of Monster Hunter is to add the Gun Sword from Lost Planet 2 as a new weapon class
>achieve all your goals for equipment(impossible)
In Iceborne I have all the Fatalis weapons fully upgraded, every Kulve Taroth weapons (almost, but I have a shitload of materials to trade in and scoop what else I need), all the available weapons of my main weapon type fully upgraded, all the cosmetic armor, all the armor I want, enough monster parts from every monster to craft an armor set, all the weapon pendants, all the rare cat armors I want and the materials to craft any additional ones, I have purchased 9999 of every type of ammo, coating, and all other purchasable consumables, I have 9999 of all my most used crafting materials mostly obtained from the garden tree. Explain how it's not posssible?
Whenever you want to. It's you who is going to be playing so you can play it however you want to.
I replayed Dark Souls 2 7 times before the dlc was even out. It made playing the dlc horrible btw.
at least once yeah
You don't have to use every weapon, but it does change how you hunt which will extend your playtime, though that is not the main reason I do it.
normally I stick with the same weapon for like 50ish hours, and then after that I spread out and make sets for like 6 or 7 weapons.
once that's complete I play with friends and swap after every hunt.
Yeah. I'm not great with all the weapons but I usually try them all out and choose 2 to get goodish with. I thought I'd never abandon my beloved great sword but past few years I've found plenty of love for other weapons. Usually when I start to get a little burnt out on a weapon I'll change or learn a new one and go right back to having a blast all over again. I urge mains to try new weapons to mix them up. Give a handful of hunts per weapon. You may love your main but you might be missing out on your true main.
As soon as you aren't having fun anymore. If the endgame gear treadmill isn't fun, then frick it, don't bother. I'd rather do challenge runs such as armorless or no items.
Not always. I played the whole of Freedom 1 and 3U and was 400 hours into 4U before I picked up my second weapon. I must have around 3-4k hours in the series now and I still haven't learned every weapon.
Is Iceborne/World available on PS5 with cross saving? I’ve been having the urge to fight fatalis again for a hot minute but can’t bring myself to deal with load times and my PS4 turning into a jet engine, and pc doesn’t have cross save unfortunately
According to Sony: >You can transfer digital games, game data, and game saves from a PS4 console to a PS5 console using LAN cables, or by connecting wirelessly (WiFi). If you’ve already stored PS4 games and game data in the external USB storage device connected to your PS4, you can bring them over to PS5 with that external USB storage device. And if you are a PS Plus member, you can also sync PS4 game saves on PS5 through cloud storage.
When you realize you're just trying to make a min-max build you don't even need since you've beaten everything with worse gear.

I'm not a gear treadmill homosexual like this guy
I'm not one either, but you sure got defensive for no reason.
I don't think defensive means what you think it means.
When you're doing post-story content and you feel like you had enough
When you're done.

It would have been shorter and gotten the same point across if you posted "I suck dicks daily and have no taste"
No
Literally whenever you're done.
>50 hours in the 4U demo
FOOTBALL bro. It's been a long time.
>50
80. I'm moron.
When it stops being or a new MonHun is out or you start up an old one
*being fun

People usually try all the weapons? Because i dont feel like changing...
Once you're bored by it
I only started trying out other weapons when hitting 800 hours in MHW
at least once yeah

I had to because I needed tails to forge armors I wanted to collect
Right about when they introduce the clutch claw

When you stop having fun.
MH games are about having fun and trying out new weapons and building armor for them.
This is about the time I stopped. I never want to get on the crown treadmill again. Though I've been getting some crowns in Rise and it's tempting..
>want to get some augment
>have to go to the Grindan Lands and deal with crystalized bones and region levels
You're not.
Post rooms.
I don't miss kirin but I do miss kirin armor. I hope there's some new evil-lookin' horse monster in Sunbreak to give us a similar-looking set.
never started ?
How do YOU feel about Malzeno?
