I'd play this game but I'd probably suck massively at it and the fact I don't care about the setting means I definitely wouldn't persevere and try to push through it.
same tbh. like id play through a game like this on very easy in a day just to see the story if i could but i dont care enough to spend a week on this dying to every boss until i memorize their moveset
the one and only thymesia, solid short game, it did the core combat justice but:
-the level design is just asinine and sometimes straight up awfully designed, you'll get lost sometimes
-Some bosses are hot garbage interactive movies but the humanoid ones are fun >the plague weapons aka prosthetics lack the characteristic utility >it has a rpg leveling system and skills trees for no reason, they are just stat modifiers for the most part.
That's about what you can expect.
>because sekiro is ninja gaiden like >1 weapon vs 7 >2 attacks vs multiple combo strings and moves >no wallrun and wallrun attacks >no delimb mechanic if comparing with 2 and 3
You never played ng you fricking imbecile
Yes played every gaiden moron, also I'm saying gaiden is better than sekiro cause >More weapon variety >Every enemy can frick you up if you play like a moron >Movement is fun even a normal jump feels good >Every boss is different while in sekiro you just press parry and win everything easy
I stopped after the divine dragon I think.
Owl easy mode (when you betray him) was one of the bosses I remember doing.
I'm not saying it's harder than NG, but I didn't feel as much of a drive to learn the timing as much and having only one weapon the whole game was.l a but dull.

Yeah, doesn't help that said weapon has 0 depth like dragon sword for example with multiple combos, moves and charge attacks.

Wolf's moveset is from combat arts and prosthetics. Multiple flavors of dodges, gap-closers, aerials, etc. etc.
You're reaching.

Same as prosthetics minus ammo. Also can only use one art.

Yeah, they're limited by effectiveness. Arts are also easily changeble at any time; you control the buttons you press.
This whole thread is just pure bait by people who didn't actually play the game, I don't know why I bother.

>ignores barebones rpg mechanics, currency and exp loss upon death, respawning enemies after death/rest, also ignores 1 type of attack
I accept your concession.
>Are you going to call AC6 a souls too?
yes because as a Hardcore Gamer, whether I press the dodge roll button or the quick boost button it's all roll slop to me
I've never played ac6 so i dont know. Sekiro is just dark souls with one weapon and payy instead of dodge. Its worse than dark souls because there is only one way to play since you are just given the one weapon. Sorry you like the worst souls game. The 2 or 3 hundred people that hold your opinion are always whining about why they don't make more, why is there no sekiro 2, why can't other people see how different it is. To 99% of people its just a worse souls game with no variety.
>it takes 192 hours to grind out those fricking skill points
Glad I took the cheat engine pill on that one once I realized how long this shit gonna take and how every levelup takes even longer than previous
I also 100% Sekiro yesterday. > Charmless really adds another level to the ng+ runs, too.
Yeah, it's the way it was intended to be played. Playing with Kuro's charm now feels like easy mode. And I much prefer getting feedback whether I'm deflecting successfully.
>it takes 192 hours to grind out those fricking skill points
Glad I took the cheat engine pill on that one once I realized how long this shit gonna take and how every levelup takes even longer than previous
Cheat engine users are pathetic. And you don't even have to grind to get all the skills.
This game is never going under 29€, Activision is a greedy c**t.
Every other FROM game went down faster than that.
I never pay more han 20€ for a videogame.
>selfish
So you're a charity instead?
Any time I spent more than that on a game, it's never been worth it, and I have no issue waiting, because I'm not a fomo gay.
Still, every other game has gone cheap faster than this one.
It is good, but it is less focused on combat than Sekiro and more on traversing the world.
I played the demo during one of the Next Fests and it was good, but not even for a moment did it remind me of Sekiro. Souls games, yes.
Ah, forgot to add it to my wishlist. Gotta get it next time it's on sale.
Bros, I'm gonna say it.
I think Sekiro is better than Ocarina of Time.
Does that make it the greatest game of all time? Probably not, no. But in the "Ocarina-like" genre, Sekiro is like the peak evolution of that formula.
Nine Sols supposed to be inspired by Sekiro. It's the devs' first action platformer after years making horror games, so I'm on the fence about it. Although at the same time the visuals looked nice and it seems professionally made so I'm keeping an eye on it.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1809540/Nine_Sols/
>reliant on accurate and polished animations >high tempo gameplay >lives or dies on enemy encounter design and AI
Unlike Soulslikes which can be made as low effort slop, you cannot do the same with Sekiro, the formula will just fall apart.
It's like asking where all the Michelin star restaurants are because you saw a lot of buffets pop up.
They require more thought in the design because of the way parries work so you can't just make a shitty boss with a magic iframes button that invalidates any attack.
thymesia, i guess
Yeah this is a good post. Very similar, not as good, but I enjoyed it.
>linear corridor qte slasher
Shitiro is a god of war like.

It's full of easy mode mods that half the damage taken and double the damage dealt, or straight up cheat engine.
They all get bogged down by taking way too many cues from souls games.
Any simon says game
Sekiro is a Guitar Hero-like.
you say that like it’s a bad thing

I wish one of them committed to no stats like sekiro, all you get is hp and a vague attack stat with a single weapon.
Thymesia is fun yeah. Wo-Long is good too.
Batman, Star Wars, Ryse
Why because sekiro is ninja gaiden like
>because sekiro is ninja gaiden like

The movement in Ninja Gaiden is so good just doing the jump into a roll to get around is a lot of fun. Then you play Sekrio and lmao
If you are going to rip off a souls game why pick the worst one?
Sekiro is not a souls game lol. Are you going to call AC6 a souls too?
Fake news. But Ninja Gaiden is better.

so many games have a gay posture system
Rise of the Ronin
The 50 people who still care about Sekiro aren't a big enough demographic to warrant clones.
Great game. One of the best I've played in a long time. Charmless really adds another level to the ng+ runs, too.
>it takes 192 hours to grind out those fricking skill points
Glad I took the cheat engine pill on that one once I realized how long this shit gonna take and how every levelup takes even longer than previous
Nah, I spent like 100 hours just playing reflections and you don't get any experience from them. Inner bosses are so fricking good.
I also 100% Sekiro yesterday.
> Charmless really adds another level to the ng+ runs, too.
Yeah, it's the way it was intended to be played. Playing with Kuro's charm now feels like easy mode. And I much prefer getting feedback whether I'm deflecting successfully.

Genma Onimusha. I'm not joking.
>dark souls, but japan
oh wow... a completely different experience... truly a genre defining title....
crypt of the necro dancer
no one enjoyed it
Sekiro is a thinly veiled game for pedophiles
Indie (western) devs wouldn’t dare throw a shota into the mix
isn't lies of p a sekiro-like with the consecutive parries?
to me, the most distinctive part of sekiro are the consecutive parries
Grime, I guess
>sekiro-like metroidvania
I'm intrigued. is it good?
pretty good if you like the style, its weird looking
It is good, but it is less focused on combat than Sekiro and more on traversing the world.

The best Sekiro-like we have ever gotten came out last month. Where have you been?
this
armored core 6 shares more in common with sekiro than souls games tbh
is Sifu a sekiro-like or a god hand-like?
Play Furi.
Bros, I'm gonna say it.
I think Sekiro is better than Ocarina of Time.

Correct answer for 2D
Correct answer for 3D
Yw OP
Can we get a game like Sekiro but it's only bosses
I like the boss fights but everything inbetween can frick off
This but the opposite
I want the world traversal of Sekiro in a Journey To the West setting (and no I'm not playing Wukong it looks like shit)
Any game with quick time events
Deathblows aren't QTEs
OP wanted to be smug about Sekiro not being as influential as Dark souls but sekiro-likes are actually a thing.
Wo Long is fun
>reliant on accurate and polished animations
>high tempo gameplay
>lives or dies on enemy encounter design and AI
Unlike Soulslikes which can be made as low effort slop, you cannot do the same with Sekiro, the formula will just fall apart.
It's like asking where all the Michelin star restaurants are because you saw a lot of buffets pop up.
Wo Long, Thymesia, Sifu maybe even Lies of P
They require more thought in the design because of the way parries work so you can't just make a shitty boss with a magic iframes button that invalidates any attack.
