It’s complicated. The campaign is super unfinished and the multiplayer has 0 content and bad desync. What makes it a real shame is that the gameplay is quite good but just buried in a heap of incompetence.

But it just feels lackluster, parts of it feel like a call back to CE but then it’s just copy pasted over and over again and you have no fricking clue what’s going on in the story, or who any of these characters are. I’m so sick of 343 leaving half of the required lore to understand their games in other media outside of the game.
Multiplayer is a blast, was really fun at launch but so many god damn puzzling decisions like their backwards ass xp/challenge system, lack of maps, shit response from butthurt devs, lack of modes that said devs act like are impossible to implement.
It really is a shame because it’s certainly the best Halo they’ve made gameplay wise. It’s really fun to play, multiplayer especially feels really good. All the weapons seem reasonably balanced and the maps that are there are solid. The complete lack of content post launch basically killed it.

They should have kept thrust as an innate ability and gotten rid of sprint instead. Even thrust as a fricking pickup in Infinite has been butchered to not preserve your mometum.
Map design is way less vertical and platforming heavy too, you need to clamber to get up onto almost anything in Infinite.

it depends really UE3 is kind of shit at some things, making a specialized engine for your autsitc game can sometimes make sense (see Paradox and their GS games or BI and the ArmA series) but yeah in 90% of cases UE3 or Unity work

Why would Microsoft get rid of anyone when 343 keeps making them money? They know they'll get players back with coop, Mission Replay Forge which has File Share, Battle Royale, and more multiplayer maps, weapons, and vehicles being added. They also know whales with go crazy in the store. They also know when the story dlc comes, they will give it a huge promotion to sell the game's second release. They know they can make up for the lost players that's why nothing's changing.
