why don't you keep this same energy with the square enix shilling?
Just ask mods to make a board for nintendo if you are gonna cry everytime other games are discussed

They need to make an immersive game like Shenmue with a day-night cycle and npcs with routines
I was actually thinking about that today when playing lad8. It's insane how you can go through an entire quest chain in one night while tons of stuff supposedly happens between the steps. Makes it seem like the devs really don't give a frick.
Anyway yeah I agree they should slow the frick down and make a game that's more like Shenmue.
you guys saw the new RGG leaks ?
what leaks?
holy peak
oh, so a spin-off?
not interested.
rikiyabros.. hes back..
kino
schizo posters are really running rampant today
ichiban is schizo
Judgment 3 please. Have Yagami investigate the daidoji while having Shishido and Nishitani be antagonists or some shit. It would be kino
tanimura spinoff would be fun
Judgment 3 is not gonna happen
Nothing more will come out that's remotely as interesting as the first one
It's truly over for this series and I urge everyone to take a shit
how do they even cook anything remotely as kino as the first judgment with nagoshi gone
They don't, that's why I said that
I don't blame niggoshi
Yakuza 0 is kino because, while it takes familiar characters and is forced to acknowledge the chronological narrative, RGG was able to deliver a fresh story without accommodating for the continuity.
Shinada’s part in Yakuza 5 is kino because RGG was able to tell a unique story that’s almost isolated from the mind-boggling mess that is Yakuza 5’s plot.
Yakuza 7 is kino because the story was original with mostly original characters. Judgment was also kino for this exact reason. Anytime RGG needs to accommodate for a previous entry’s narrative, they just can’t get it right.
saw a mod where someone swapped his model with Yagami's, and Yagami looks way more threatening as a villain for some reason
just mature him up a little bit, he was always a bit of an innocent child in 7 but they go too far with it in 8 in my opinion, those scenes of him being a total manchild in how he proposes to Saeko were grating to watch
About to delve into Yakuza 4. Heard it's confusing as frick in terms of the story, but has the best atmosphere. Is it true?
When I was in Japan, I saw Kuriowa's actor on every news channel and billboard. It's funny how Sega picked an actor with such an innocent face and made him play a killer
>its a rainy tonight in kamurocho
>blasting whiskey and rhapsody in the background
>patrolling around little asia with tanimura
I fricking love Yakuza jazz
With 4 protagonists it's gonna be at least a little confusing. Not a bad little game though. Atmosphere would be 6, K1, or Judgment 1.
How does Y6 still manage to look better than any other Dragon Engine game since then? The only problem are the very low resolution reflections on surfaces, but that can be fixed with speacialk on PC.
it's not a confusing story, it's a somewhat baffling ending. but that's kind of expected for RGG. It's got some really good parts and some great characters. Akiyama is awesome, Saejima is a monster. Tanimura is cool af and then Kiryu comes in to lay it down. Y4 feels fresh coming off of 1,2, and 3. Where 4 was let down, they reran it with 5.
As far as atmosphere, idk it's not really different. Y3 had a great atmosphere. Y4 has better characters.
Gaiden was kinography
It also has better graphics and character models. It’s obvious they develop the game after Infinite Wealth.
IM SORRY
KINO
I believe in the current team. People overrate Nagoshi too much; they made 7 pretty much without Nagoshi and Gaiden without Nagoshi.
I think the problem is just that they try to make story too complex and then fumble it. And they handle returning characters poorly. Both of these are common issues in many other mediums. Can't afford to have beloved returning characters look bad, etc.
Akiyama Gaiden is sorta maybe probably the next thing on the agenda.
Judgment 3 seems like it won’t happen this year.
RGG wants to expand the franchise beyond Japan, I’m guessing SEGA is less reliant on Sonic for revenue and see Yakuza as the most solid source.
I love this kiryu's design
Same, I have outfitted in the casino suit.
Speaking of casinos… wtf was the point of detailing all of Wong’s casino and doing NOTHING with it? If we want to play cards, we had the gambling collab company in Ijincho or the one in the dingy chinese restaurant.
What was the point of Wong Tou at all, waste of a perfect battle theme, I can't fricking believe how many times I had to listen to Barracuda or the Palekana theme and this plays ONCE in the whole game
He will be back in Hanawa Gaiden.
and then you get kicked in the balls again with
>see those poker tables with a video tabletop? you can't play on them, so frick off to the pleb tables.
Kiwami 3, they already have a beach and shit from hawaii
Where does that leave Yakuza 4? Will it get updated too, leaving 5 as the most “outdated” yakuza title?

Based.
This video i think is taken after Judge Eyes launched, judging from his hair still long which is shown in the launch event of judge eyes, he just upload it recently
it's cool that he enjoyed the games so much
if Judgment 3 happens I hope they write him to be less of a sperg than he was in Lost Judgment
him in LJ kinda killed the character for me
it's annoying because the actual stance he was taking was fine (understandable for him even considering his own past with vigilante justice and how his own parents were killed because of it, which weirdly is never mentioned in LJ), but 99% of the time instead of explaining his stance in a reasonable and persuasive manner like a lawyer could do he just screams the same dead character's name all game at anyone who disagrees with him on anything. It easily could've been handled way better.
iamgine putting your entire head in yuya's mouth like a circus lion....
HD really fricked with him badly.
Why is Aquanaut Ichiban so good?
Because Hero was nerfed and Aquanaut’s ultimate armor allows the character to ignore resistances.
>Ultimate weapon provides a buff to physical damage at full health which is really easy to keep and debuffs Frost resistances on normal and skill attacks.
>Ultimate armor allows it to ignore physical resistances.
>Meaning when you use Essence of Friendship on Ichiban you deal at least 3000 to every enemy.
>Meaning you can also slap EX buffs for Blunt and Frost damage to do even more damage.
>Comes with Essence of Surf Twister which has an enormous range and is blunt Frost so its own damage gets boosted further by the physical damage buff.
>If you're using Essence of Showboating (Which you really should since it's one of the best Essences for males) that also gets its damage boosted further.
>This also means you can spam Burning Arrow and not worry about gun/fire resistances.
>If that wasn't enough, also comes with Trippy Flipper Ripper which is basically physical Bubble Bale but a bit weaker.
>Also comes with Ahi Aloha when you want to do a 1v1 attack that typically stuns.
>Also also comes with Inker to the Blinker which typically blinds when you use it.
It's easily the best job in the entire game.
What would you say is the best job for every character? I plan on giving everyone a different job but I might not necessarily use them all once I get to post game.
>Ichiban
Aquanaut, as I've explained above.
>Kiryu
Either Desperado or Action Star. Desperado if you want to crit and Wild Sweep, Action Star if you want the massive damage buff for physical attacks. I'd lean towards Action Star personally.
>Eric
Cabbie because it's got a better ultimate weapon than Host and Eric's ultimate armor is fantastic. Just steal Host's Rose Stinger, Desperado's Poisoned Cloudburst, and Aquanaut's Jellyfish Juice.
>Adachi
The bench. Linebacker is the best job for him if you want him to make use of his stats since "Hut! Hut! Hike!" will never wear off due to his garbage AGI so you pretty much never lose the DEF buff and you'll always have the attack buff from it next time he moves. One guy yesterday said he tried this but would rather stick to Samurai.
>Nanba
Either Homeless and spam Rose Stinger or stick with Host. Host would be my choice due to the armor and stat spread.
>Zhao
Gangster entirely due to his utlimate weapon and armor. Just steal Burning Arrow, and whatever else you want.
>Girls
We had a discussion about this yesterday but there's basically three choices:
>Substitution Jutsu bawds who never do anything (Tennis Ace/Kunoichi).
>You go Tennis Ace/Kunoichi and spam Bubble Bale (Housekeeper)/Spinning Queen (NQ).
>You make Chitose a Geodancer, Seonhee a Housekeeper, and Saeko a Barmaid.
Chitose and Seonhee should be obvious, the magic damage buff for Geodancer is absurd while the stat spread on Housekeeper paired with its ultimate weapon is also absurd. They both have amazing AGI on top of that. Saeko sticks to Barmaid because of her ultimate weapon. Put both Blunt buffs on it and whatever else you feel like and deal a bunch of damage to a single target with israeliteel Breaker and Branding Blow. People also said to just make her a Housekeeper for better Bubble Bales.
>Han
No clue since I don't have him yet but his ultimate armor sucks. The two posts I have saved in a Notepad file say "Linebacker" and "bench".
cool, I'll probably experiment on my own but it's nice to have this to look back at if I feel lost
i just roflstomp on ng+ legend with hero/DoD/pyro/idol. just give the guys war cry, poisoned cloudburst/burning arrow, jellyfish (or battery storm if tomi). give idol sub jutsu and trade her for a warcry chad. granted I'm still in chapter 7 but nothing has required a rethink so far. i don't get the rose stinger thing. burning arrow is superior just for its usefulness in deleting shitters quickly to focus on the sponges.
>i don't get the rose stinger thing
1v1.
Burning Arrow tends to only do 800ish even if they're weak to guns/fire. Rose Stinger even if they're neutral to it does 1000+ damage easily and can hit 2000+ if they're weak to fire.
Rose Stinger did over 5000 dmg when I used the Host move which doublres Magic for a single turn.
war cry on kiryu on first move during the final boss, had two defense debuffs, when kiryu turn came around, went into ultimate dragon mode and did over 10k damage. 7k damage with war cry and cutlery crash. I think I was lvl 98 with Kiryu with a lvl 99 DoD.
i forgot, the cook cutlery move with four knife throws is also great. plays nice with war cry and just assrapes.
You don't really need builds mid game, or even late game since you'll mostly be overleveled for the story dungeons. If anything you should keep rotating the jobs because you'll experience diminishing returns with jobs ranks very quickly.
Though I'll suggest putting buff/ailment brands on the weapons of jobs that need it. Buff rate brand for breaker and kunoichi, rage for linebacker, charm for idol and night queen, etc. They are kinda lame without those.
Why would you put a buff rate brand on Kunoichi? That would only really make sense if Seonhee is stuck in it.
Oh, and if it's for the Agility from skills, you typically get a skill buff no matter what even without the buff brand. I think I've only seen a skill not give me an Agility buff like twice. Agility buffs for some reason feel like they nearly always activate.
i went through the giant squid fight spamming agi buff skills with cheetos the whole fight and i think she actually got the buff once
Shhhh moose doesn't understand sample sizes, if they used it only 3 times and it procced twice, he'll say it's 100% rate
Man, I've got all the girls to 30 in it and have been using stuff like Deluge of Stars and Winged Kunai fairly regularly. Scattering of Flowers is my go-to move when in it and it virtually always procs it so I don't know what's going on.
You got all girls to 30 kunoichi so you could make webms of sexy jutsu, we know.
Because it has an agi buff gimmick? What kind of question is that?
Well, like I said you typically get AGI buffs no matter what even without the brand. I thought you were using it for Seonhee's ultimate armor or something.
Does the brand even affect random armor buffs?
Honestly, no clue. I just thought that was your idea but I guess based off of
's experience maybe I'm just really lucky in Kunoichi? I understood your reasoning for the other stuff but Kunoichi had me a bit confused since I never felt like I needed a brand for the buffs to work.
Following up on this, I think Han's calling is Desperado. It takes advantage of both his ATK and MAG stats, his AGI is already really high, you can use its ultimate armor for an even further buff to AGI, and if you stack debuffs with the gun your crit rate goes through the roof. Fire + Debuff + Magic can crit seems like the way to go if you do that at which point you can do Rose Stinger or Dynamite Fever for the debuffs and damage while using Wild Sweep and Burning Arrow for physical damage.
how can you check the characters' base stats without job lvl influence?
You can't, 7 didn't let you either. You can view stats without equipment by going to Party and then Stats but that's about it.
Party>Stats has weapon and armor values added
Party>Jobs and alohappy room menus don't.
You can't like moose says, but you can change everyone to the same job to compare. For comparison between sexes, give them the jobs with the same stat bars in the bottom left of job changing screens.
>Party>Stats has weapon and armor values added
>Party>Jobs and alohappy room menus don't.
Whoops, I knew it was one of them but I thought it was on the stats screen. Thanks.
not the canadian deer but post-game my main party is
>Aquanaut Ichiban
>Hieress Chitose (or any job really)
>Breaker Kiryu or Adachi
>Chef Tomi (weakness matching)
There's a battery gimmick going between the Breaker and Chitose due to the MP regen on buff effect on their ultimate gear. Breaker spams Showboating every turn which gives everyone a defense buff, buff gives MP back to Breaker and Chitose, Chitose uses that MP to spam Tropical Tornado every turn. Most big swell trash rooms don't last beyond these two AOEs.
Everyone also has paireo of happiness equipped so the showboating buff ALSO heals the entire party.
Everyone else on the bench is specialized into one damage type. On longer fights I'd switch tomi with the specialist that matches the boss' weakness.
Nanba = Homeless Fire spec, Joongi = Samurai Blade, Seonhee = Gun, etc.
If there's no weakness then I'll switch to Zhao (max blunt) or Saeko (max neutral magic), i can't decide which is more effective.
Adachi and Kiryu I've yet to find something they can specialize into, but Kiryu has DoD so I gave Breaker to Adachi. I'm still testing if can get dragon's resurgence to hit 6k consistently.
>Ichiban

All of them except 7.
all men: samurai + aquanaut gives you most elements and attack types, then just change to their default one for the ult wep
all women: idol + kunoichi and change back
everyone can heal and has most elements/attack types
If my hero is like lvl 15 17 20 ish can I switch to aqua or should hero be lvl30 ish before switching moosechan
Switch around to all the jobs, only start worrying about sticking to one in postgame really.
Seemed like they wanted to make a generic version of Hero but made it more powerful than Hero.

They should make a Gaiden game with majima
they need to reboot the series, keep the gritty mafia tone, remove all """comedy"""/wackiness. the series can stand on strong written characters alone, it doesn't need a chimp piloting an excavator.
you must be new to the series, anon
3 was my first and i played them in release order from there. Mine is still the best villain.

Which yakuza game is the most "fun"?
That's entirely subjective and based on what (You) prefer. For me it's BP2, Kenzan, 5, and Judgment. For others it's 0 or now seemingly 3. For one guy here it's K1 because he loves the combat. For another guy here it's 6 because he liked the maps and side content.
Anything below 7.
For me it's 4
The ones I enjoy the most are 2 (PS2) and Lost Judgment. I'd say they're good at second installments but I found Infinite Wealth pretty disappointing.
>judgment or lost judgment
yagami is one of those most unlikeable asiaticface skinny-jeans-wearing basedboys ive ever seen in a yakuza game. no thank you.
i like him, maybe you dont but i like him
I dunno why everyone makes fun of Yagami's ridiculously tight jeans so much, it isn't any worse than the suit Kiryu wears that looks way too big for him in most games (in one of the more recent games they fixed it, in the PS3 games in particular it looks comically baggy on him though) is it?
Lawyer Yagami with the slicked back hair looked good, should've been an unlockable costume in the free mode (don't think Judgment let you do that even?)
>t. K*wana
5, so much shit to do with so many characters.
>nearly 20 years since the first yakuza game
>Kamurocho is still the best mad RGG has ever made
How'd they do it bros? How did they manage to make a large city located in Japan's Red Light district feel so comfy?
Do weapons scale beyond 7* in NG+?
No. Once you've fully upgraded the weapon + applied brands, you don't need to touch it again.
of Kamurocho 2
I wish
I would like more original stories with new characters.
The origin stories were all the best in my opinion: 0, 4, 7 and Judgement.
Sopranos collab
Who can he beat out of all the bosses and player characters in the franchise?
NO ONE PLAYED IT Black person!
To the grave because of you. The main head behind the localization team is crying how he's getting bullied and will be deleting his twitter account.
moronic Black person
This moron meltdown is deserved, in JE he add neo localization "cat-calling" where the original don't and proud of it, then people calling it and he act like a b***h
when will english dub die?
When Sega stops thinking it's necessary for greater success, which won't be for a while since IW sold a million in a week.
why are burgers so illiterate?
Kazama Gaiden

Kuze Gaiden
Akiyama Gaiden
Judgment 3
As long as I don't have to see/interact with Haruka, I'll be happy.
what if they gave haruka big veiny boobs.
You have my attention
Kazama or Kuze will never be a playable character. RGG will never let you play as a murderer.
>>RGG will never let you play as a murderer.
>Kenzan
>Ishin
>BP1 if you want to joke around.
Is the live action worth watchingM
BP1's adaptation isn't anything close to the game and makes Tatsuya's character entirely different.
BP2's adaptation is basically the game's story from what I skimmed through of it.
It's worth it for some of the fights and funny moments. Not to mention they filmed in Kabukicho.
Hirose was based.
Haruka should've had his baby instead of the gaijin frickboy's.
I really like his theme.
?si=GgBrIqkrEhP_t-fZ
I wish the boss fights in 6 weren't such pushovers (even by this series' standards I mean, the endgame random mobs were harder to deal with than the bosses were), he should've been cooler to fight than he ended up being
i hope they do an updated version of 6. like how atlus is getting that smtvv rerelease for smtv, i just want normal text boxes and not Whatever the frick they used for yakuza 6
i just hope that RGG dumps ichiban
i was firmly on board the 'let kiryu rest' train but after LaD 7 and LaD 8 i do not ever want to see ichibans stupid fricking face ever again.
the only way id put up with it is if that bottle slamming into ichiban's head during the ending cinematic of 8 turns out to cure his delusion and the game goes back to being a brawler and not this god damn agonizingly slow boring as frick turn based shit
if you INSIST on keeping turn based then just gimme kiryu again since it'll be his story keeping me invested and not the dogshit gameplay
I'm perfectly fine with Ichiban continuing to be the MC as long as they stop this "Yakuza Jesus" thing they've got going for him because it's not interesting. It was fine in 7, but they can't keep having him forgive everyone who wrongs him every single time and that causes them to turn over a new leaf. He's done it like four times just in two games now, three times in 8 alone. If 9 isn't entirely built on someone taking advantage of that fact about him and genuinely unrepentant and refusing to listen to him I don't know what else they can do with him because they've already Flanderized him in his second game.
Yeah, it's charming that he sees the good in people and all, but when that's all he does it stops being charming.
kiryu is yakuza jesus and it could not be clearer, my guy
the entire showdown with ebina is based around the fact that kiryu is yakuza jesus and everything over the last decades was the result of his actions (or inactions)
I'm talking about the fact that Ichiban is constantly turning the other cheek to people who have literally caused deaths in front of him, who constantly point guns at him, who constantly betray him, etc. Yeah, Kiryu himself is basically Yakuza Jesus from the sense of him being their Messiah, I'm talking more from how Ichiban is basically a doormat unless the person he's going after is some laughably evil unrepentant butthole.
It feels like they decided redemption and picking yourself back up was the main theme, and tried working it into the story as much as possible
the dissonance is multiplied by his age; he's on the wrong side of 40 but is so easily manipulated that it boggles the mind. it's hard to take him seriously as a character, especially when he went full autist in IW.
I'm happy with J and LJ as a mini series. I'd prefer a new brawler spin-off, mabie just have gaiden games replace it. Akiyama Gaiden would make everyone cum.
Actually Kiwami 3 is the most likely imo
Seonhee makes my dick diamonds.
Especially her voice.
you and me both brother
>bumps into her on purpose to hear her moans
They're just doing the same story over and over again, but it falls flat with Ichi and Yagami because they're not as cool as Kiryu
>to live is to not run away Kiryu, you can't outmuscle all of your problems either
>enter Yakuza 2 Ryuji, gets bodied by Kiryu
>Yagami you can't solve everything by lawyering 110%, the law has flaws and inadequacies
>enter guy who legitimately counters Yagami's autistic the law is everything, gets Sawa-sensei'd and outlawyered
>Ichi you can't just be bros with everyone and forgive people that were trying to kill you
>enter guy who exploits Ichi's kindness and does some nasty shit after pretending to be his friend, Ichi says after all that stuff you're still my pal Ei-chan and then they become friends
Yagami's story was fine, the issue was the execution. It's like
said, he has proper arguments he can give but they for some reason love to harp on one single point instead of making that point one of many of them.

At least the minigame list actually isn't that bad this time around. Well, the gambling isn't at least. Knocked out 25 entries in 30 minutes.
The list is fake. You need to do Pacman like 20-30 S rank runs, you need to do Crazy Taxi like 15-20 times while clearing the whole map, and you need to do Pokemon Snap's Hard difficulty about 30+ times. Sure, the list says you only need to do it like 10-15 times, but in reality you need to double it if you want the limited and exclusive items from the stores.
Honorary mention to the UFO catchers this time around, finding the exact center of the long boxes so they stay balanced was a b***h for me, and frick those penguins too.
For the boxes you just need to constantly grab as far back as possible on the box. That typically inches them forward or puts them on the closer rungs. Penguins just grab them by the flippers by putting the grabber dead center on their body. If you don't get that on the first try just quit and reset the machine, they're some of the easier ones. The pigs and the birds are some of the worst to actually grab in my opinion. If the pigs flip at all it's better to reset the machine but they're a pain in the ass to grab just right, and the birds have a mind of their own where you can grab them. The Monkey Ball monkeys are also rough, especially AiAi.
I just went ape mode and slowly pushed the penguins into the hole with strategic claw placements.
What list are you talking about? The personality trait challenges? How do you get unique weapons from that? I'm already at 10 on all my personality traits.
Minigames with point exchange shops have some exclusive equipment you can only get there but they're mostly all 3-4 star so the effort required to get them really isn't worth it unless you have the completionist autism.
>Minigames with point exchange shops
>mostly all 3-4 star
Oh those.
I only care about the platinum trophy.
>The personality trait challenges?
Yes, those are the completion list for 8.
>How do you get unique weapons from that?
Go to the minigame stores. Kan-san's store, the Crazy Delivery store, the Sicko Snap store at each trolley station, the shops at each gambling location, Shogi's store, etc. Shogi is the only one that's worth it because of the Desperado weapon that makes its ultimate weapon but you can get one of those from crowned minibosses. It's more for completionists because like 90% of the weapons are garbage outside of as soon as the minigame unlocks.
>Shogi is the only one that's worth it because of the Desperado weapon that makes its ultimate weapon but you can get one of those from crowned minibosses.
Also you'll be like 5k points short from getting the weapon, CDs and blueprints if you only do puzzle shogi so unless you know how to play / have the patience to use a shogi site definitely get the weapon from the boss.
>so unless you know how to play / have the patience to use a shogi site
You can actually just copy 7's Challenge Shogi solutions. They're the exact same.
I didn't mean it for the puzzles, repeating puzzles only gives you 100 points so if you don't want to do that for 2 hours you'll have to play regular matches to make up the difference. You'll only get about 19k points for all 10, and the whole shop costs about 25.
Yes, and I'm saying if you do Challenge Shogi on top of Puzzle Shogi you can get like 2000-3000 points for 5ish minutes of copying someone playing one level. Puzzle Shogi only gives you 21k or something like that, Challenge Shogi on top of of that will let you buy everything limited and the gun.
I'm moronic and forgot about those, nevermind me.

Okay, I've went out 10 times in mahjong, but still haven't won first place at a table. I'm now at least pretty confident in pulling off the three hands I learned. Time to make a cheat sheet of the higher value stuff and win this.
You really just need Riichi Tanyao and Pinfu to win games.
No terminals (No 1, 9, or Dragons)
Full Straight (1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 of one type of tile).
Full Color Straight (1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 + pair + sequence/triplet of the same type of tile).
Identical Sequences (The same sequence in the same type of tile i.e. 1-1-2-2-3-3).
Three Color Straight (The same sequence across all three types of tiles like 1-2-3 in Bamboo, Character, and Wheels).
All Pairs (Seven pairs, not worth it unless you already have like four).
Concealed Triplets (Your entire hand is triplets with a pair. Pain in the ass, try to avoid it).
Dragons (Triplet of a Dragon tile).
Winds (Triplet of a wind tile that's your own or the table's).
Double East (You and the table are East and you have a triplet East).
Pinfu/No Points (Wining tile must complete an open-ended sequence. I.e. You have a 4-5 and to win you need a 3 or a 6).
That's all you really need to know. Everything else gets way too specific like Half Flushes for example.
>Pinfu/No Points (Wining tile must complete an open-ended sequence. I.e. You have a 4-5 and to win you need a 3 or a 6).
This isn't how the yaku works
Okay, you gotta explain, because that's how it was explained to me before and usually gives me that yaku when I do that.
For a hand to be Pinfu you have to have 0 fu. The most important part of this is that your hand has no triplets in it. Secondly, your wait must be the two sided wait as you said. Lastly, your eyes can't be honor tiles that would give you fu (pair of dragons or the seat/round wind).
Ah, I see now. I guess I must just have garbage hands whenever I notice I can do that.
Ending with a double-sided wait is part of it, but your melds have to only be straights(no triplets), and no valued honors(no dragons, or seat/round winds)(it's ok for your pair to be a wind that has no value to you)
I keep a printout of this sheet on hand so I can double check values and which can use calls, but really just "don't call chi/pon if you don't know what you're doing, keep tiles that have the most ways to form melds, and go for riichi" will get you there.
>Where does Yakuza go next
Kiwami 3 because 3 plays like shit compared to nearly every other game in the series and has tons of garbage side content nobody likes like the cabaret club. They could just replace that with better stuff like 0/Kiwami 2's cabaret club and update the terrible golf minigame to actually be fun. The core gameplay also needs an overhaul so it isn't Blockuza 3 where grabbing is the only way to fight before you get tiger drop. 3's story is actually one of the better ones, so some pretty graphics combined with gameplay that doesn't suck ass would make it one of the best entries in the series.
>Judgment 3
Possible, but for the love of god please let them hire a competent writer. Lost Judgment had the worst story in the entire series.
>Like a Dragon 9
They haven't done 2 consecutive mainline entries in a long time.
>Streets of Kamurocho 2
Didn't they straight up remove the first one from Steam? Why would they make a sequel when they don't even want to make the first game available?
>0 Kiwami [10 Year Anniversary Edition]
0 itself is so popular that you'd end up with a Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey situation. Everybody who wanted to play the original already has and it's still playable on modern systems, so nobody will buy it. You could say the same with 3 obviously, but 0 isn't in drastic need of a gameplay overhaul.
>new spin-off
Idk what it would be, but all I know is it WON'T be an Akiyama game. The only reason he even appeared in Infinite Wealth is because of the b***hing when he wasn't in LaD.
You make Kiwami 3 sound so good.
>Didn't they straight up remove the first one from Steam?
Shouldn't
steam://install/1368430
still work like it does for Codename Gordon with
steam://install/92
If it's not /install/ it's /run/.
>Possible, but for the love of god please let them hire a competent writer. Lost Judgment had the worst story in the entire series.

>AAIIIIIIIIE, TABO, PLEASE SAVE US AND KICK THEIR BUTTS, WE JUDGE MEN ARE WEAK AND INCOMPETENT NOW
I kid, but nah, LJ’s story wasn’t up to RGG’s typical quality.
i felt out of all the stories in the rgg games, I liked how lost judgment felt the most grounded and didnt really try to do moronic twists that rgg loves to do. They pulled some towards the end but i thought it wasnt nearly half as bad as coin locker babies or something
>Kiwami 3
shit taste the post, only thing worth addressing is the blocks and it's not worth a remake just for that.
i wouldnt mind a kiwami 3 just because yakuza 3 remastered is pretty available. what made me aggressive towards the persona 3 remake was because persona 3 fes wasnt available outside of ps2/emulation. however since yakuza 3 is on steam/ps4/xbox Im cool with a remake. i wish they would translate the 1&2 PS2 collection on steam though.
It's more there's no point and they'll inevitably frick up some things. The only entries that actually need a remake are Kenzan and maybe Kurohyo 1/2.
they probably will frick things up, But it doesnt matter if i could just play the original easily. Kiwami 1 or kiwami 2 didnt replace yakuza 1 and 2 for me.

This needs to get ported to current gen consoles and PC first.
this but also Kenzan and Dead Souls
preferably the PS2 games as well but there’s no chance of that
i hope they port that ps3 remaster one day. Atleast heavily refer it as "RGG RETRO COLLECTION" or some terrible title. I just want to play these games without obnoxious loading and (hopefully) 60 fps.
>I just want to play these games without obnoxious loading and (hopefully) 60 fps.
60 FPS already breaks stuff, you shouldn't want that, and that's on the PS3 games so I can't imagine the PS2 games would fare any better. 1&2 HD was 30 FPS.
very unlikely, but let's wait and see what happens with the new anime, maybe they'll rerelease it

I'm glad it's on a CD in IW.
Saeko's Awake is so good wtf
Does anyone else find it hypocritical that Ichi is so eager to send his “friend” Ei-chan to jail with full knowledge of how inhumane Jap prisons are? Dude got his sentence extended just for defending himself and constantly did unpaid slave labor.
Yeah it's weird, assassinations attempts in prison is a common theme in this series, so the whole scene felt off.

homie u what?!?!
give me judgment 3 already
Just finished IW. Really took my time with it. Been playing it constantly since release date so a fun month just passed by.
Did like 75 hr in my savegame but the Xbox app says 100 hr, prob 80+ hr then.
This is the most addictive game that they have ever released, there's always something to do and there's always a nice reward. Hawaii is an incredible step up from previous settings, going back to the previous towns after mid game fricking sucked kek. The RPG system is way better than 7 too. You now feel like you are actively playing it.
But the game's not perfect, the story, the mother - son relationship fricking sucked, Ichi's mother even looks like some random NPC, the only iconic American character in whole Hawaii was Richardson and the guy is from a previous game, there's also Dwight but he's Machete basically. It's like they don't know how to design Americans. Hanawa's death was shitty and anticlimactic, what the hell happened with all the Gaiden friendship buildup just a gunshot and a hand with blood in the floor and some words from Kiryu in another scene, no drama at all. Also, don't know why but Japanese devs just can't stop doing Christian references, le bad pope, cult stuff, when doing stories set in the west. Palekana guy was laughable with his broken English in the Jap dub and Ebina wasn't as fleshed as the final antagonist of Gaiden.
Overall the story was worse than Gaiden, really loved Gaiden. They also somehow managed to fit some Ichi's drama crying to Eiji, that dude really had minor screentime, but there he was in the epilogue. Yeah the Y7 callback, but didn't landed.
Meh, overall these guys really know how to make fun games with polished gameplay and systems, I only wished that they could improve their storytelling. Judgment / Lost Judgment / Gaiden were a step in the right direction, don't know what happened here.
away
2nd Hawaii game to improve the left half of Hawaii kind of like LJ fixed the top part of Ijincho
I want the next Hawaii to be Dead Souls 2.

SAORI CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAN
RGG released three LAD games in a couple of years. I just want to see their new IP already.
Sorry, you'll get yakuza and some monkey ball for the rest of their lifetime.
New IP set in the 90’s that’s a loose adaptation of the life of Gracie Killer Kazushi Sakuraba
I was up late watching the NYE Dream event where his ear got ripped off. last time I saw him.
Can’t wait for the Gaiden crew to return in LAD 9 and save the series. Best bros Tsuruno and Watase returning along with Daidoji zombies Nishitani and Shishido. Combine this with all the loose ends of IW and there’s no reason they can’t come up with a good story
how lit is this game? how fricking lit is this yakuza game? i hope they make a new ip because relying on whether or not kimura takuya will be in the next judgment kinda makes me not want any more judgmnets.
I forgot how low the deadzone is for Yakuza 5. You slightly move the joystick and your character changes his angle so you just look like a drunk guy walking down the street.

Nishitani III Gaiden: The Bisexual Who Faked His Death
why isn't he just beating him within an inch of his life? japanese police isn't exactly known for their "humane" ways of detaining or interrogating people
because he knows Yagami could just flux fissure him through the door
damn good writing, especially coming off of 8
He's scaring me
How do I keep super Sodachi? Do I need to evolve him by feeding him Committee Agents?
Yep. You can also get Murderous Heat variants of some Sujimon, one in each type. If a Sujimon requires two characters to get to 1* they can get Murderous Heat.
its easy already without them. too bad i didnt know about it still
getting shosuke tanihara to play kuroiwa was certainly funny. he's considered a boy next door type in japan like kimura takuya in his hey day even though he's like 51 now
someone (or a couple of people) mentioned that kamurocho feels more lifeless with each passing game due to the tojo disbanding and just various pissant groups trying to scoop up whatever action there is left there
i'm starting to agree, the devs are going to have to just cut out kamurocho entirely atp
i have never liked kamurocho, not ever
The continued gentrification of Kamurocho is intentional and has been mentioned in like every game set there
Ishiban singing Baka mitai when?
>Mame was the picture in the first game with Baka Mitai
>Baka Darou ends with him breaking down upon seeing a video of Mame
KINO KINO KINO
In LAD XI after he remembers how he was nailed to the cross for the Yakuza's sins in X
it kind of sucks that gaiden and 8's version of baka mitai just reuses the mame photo
gaiden should've had a photo of kiryu with the setouchi warriors from 6
8 could have akame or something seriously she wasn't even in any of the memoirs i'm pretty sure
kiryu really is yakuza jesus isn't he
No, Kiryu is the old testament, Saint Ichiban is Jesus
update your gay little file, moose
Pretty sure they are going to make another gaiden based on Hawaii
There's no way in hell they won't reuse Hawaii for the brawler game
It's not going to be Judgement though because Johnny
Takaya is out of Johnnys anyway, so that's not holding them back. It did feel like RGG was disgusted with the whole thing and that guy is not cheap at all. They couldn't even afford to have him do karaoke but that was probably on Johnny's wanting billions of yen. He absolutely has nothing stopping him if they want to do another game. But they dropped that Kaito Files DLC like it was game over. It's hard to say because they did what they said they wouldn't do and had the supporting cast crossover in Gaiden and Y8 for some cameos. Awfully suspicious of them. but it's hard to read. Are they doing it to hype up another game or are they doing it because they aint ever coming back?
Since they've been teasing Judgment characters in Yakuza (from Kaito and Higashi showing up in a substory + Sugiura in the Coliseum up to Sugiura and Tsukumo showing up in the main story) and Yakuza characters in Judgment (Zhao shows up in LJ, albeit it as an unspoken role), my guess is they're going back on their initial statement by having Judgment be independent from the Yakuza series and then working to blend the 2 together so that it's not weird that Yagami's running around and yet never meets Ichiban or anyone from the party.
I'd like a more detective centered Judgment game if they are going to make another one. That's probably not what a lot of people want but I feel like we were playing Kiryu's half brother who was into karate and women. Some of the detective stuff was really good and they could definitely do it but we got so much bad crap like the tailing missions and the wonky drone (not drone racing). Yagami was less of a detective and more of a guy punching the truth out of people.
dead
Joryu killed her with sex
>Ryuji wasn't present in Yakuza Funeral Event
Bros?
when was this? I saw pictures floating around, was it some kind of pr thing or in game? i couldn't tell
It was an IRL marketing thing in Japan for either Gaiden or 8, I think it was 8,
Gaiden 2 is obviously next and we'll play as Shishido.
yeah lets play as a rape victim bro that sounds phenomenal
I wish it was me.
Ichiban is a rape victim too.
its ok if the female raped the male
Alo-Happy had a turn too.
its ok they matched on miss match
So the gay sex part was consensual?
Rather play as Kaito the Boof Smoker again.
>Gaiden 2 is obviously next
i dont get where this stupid idea came from in people's heads, there will never be a gaiden 2
the whole reason there was a gaiden was the long-winded kiryu prologue they wanted to tell in 8 so they just cut it out and made it its own game, there's no financial incentive in making anything like it
Akiyama Gaiden brawler game, because kicks are cool, especially when he can ignore physics and do air combos.
If you don't play as Kiryu, i'm not interested. Simple as.
What is going to be the reason RGG gives Yagami to visit Hawaii?
I'm pretty sure it's not going to be Yagami
They made Gaiden to replace Judgement, and in the pre-release interview they said they are planning on making more Gaiden whether people like it or not (in the end the game got a pretty good reviews so I assume they are going to go full steam with this plan)
I don't think protag is going to be Kiryu either though, since he already is a main character in 8 and he is crippled with a cancer
Why do you Black folk just make up your own headcanon and treat it as fact? At no point did they ever say Gaiden was made to replace Judgment.
Also going to add on that literally the only reason Gaiden exists is because it started as Kiryu DLC and then they kept adding shit so they decided to just make it its own game. It was basically last minute shit and wasn't made to replace anything.
It's pretty fricking clear they made Gaiden because of the Johnnys debacle, I don't think they were made to completely replace them, but temporary Man Who Erased His Name did replace the place for "brawler side-piece" for Yakuza
and considering they said they were going to make more, which they did say, it's safe to assume that RGG is fine with Judgement being a duology and focus on making Gaiden instead.
There's no way in hell they are going to develop Judgement sequel along side Gaiden, they have the same design principle when it comes to gameplay
Back in 2021 Yokoyama said they had projects in the works that weren't Yakuza or Judgment. In the famitsu dev new years greetings he also said that they have an announcement they hope they can make this year. So they're probably going to reveal a new series.
Stealth reintroduction to a Shenmue reboot which itself is a stealth virtual fighter reboot.

I forgot how much I liked the taxi driver minigames. Wish they came back at some point.
they should just let you drive a car
Is the singer licensing fee thing really why Tomi and Yagami don't do karaoke? I just remembered that Akame was a pro singer too and she got a track.
RGG's raging hard-on for like a butterfly supercedes the cost of licensing
Because in japan record company usually pulls numbers out of their asses to justify extra fee
Captcha : JJJJ
Akiyama had karaoke songs, but SEGA can’t put it on streaming services like Spotify because his agency is greedy as shit. It’s why you can find literally everyone else’s karaoke songs, but Akiyama is exempted.
Which sucks too because Akiyama has a ton of good karaoke songs too. There's the Saejima/Akiyama Bakamitai mix, but I don't really like the back and forth between them.
the biggest fumble in the whole series is giving Lost Judgement the best combat but no Colosseum to fight in

Please no, I don't want to learn mahjong.
it's fun though. quite addicting once you learn to play, which doesn't take long.

Judgement had the best setting for the final battle against Kuroiwa. The atmosphere is better than anything the top of the Millenium Tower could offer.
Y5's final boss setting was nice
It’s refreshing having a no-bullshit, too.
>Kuwana: “You don’t get it, Yagami. I NEED to kill kids, here’s thirty five thousand reasons why I’m in the right and you’re in the wrong. Please consult the chart that portrays me as the chad and you as the soi wojak.”
>Kuroiwa: “I like killing people.”
It's also reflected in their setting. Kuwana gets a dingy badly lit abandoned warehouse while Kuroiwa gets an eerily empty medical research facility during a thunderstorm

Kuwana lacked the "oh shit" moment when Kuroiwa regains all his health for round two. I get they kinda split the two health bars between him and Soma but its just not the same. He really should've powered up once more after thinking about all the bullies out there that he still has to kill.

Funny thing is you don't even need to optimize your room since the first house upgrade gives ou plenty of space to just dump a bunch of random shit and you'll still have room left over while maxing out your comfort. That's not even including the 2nd floor which may as well just be a shitpost room because you don't need the space and can just put up 100 pictures of Ryo Aoki and Masumi Arakawa.

I want to believe.
I realized they won't do game set in the 90s, as it's the black hole meant for backstory of newly introduced characters
Yakuza doesn't do the 90s because Japan was in depression throughout and nothing significant happened, except for sarin gas attack, which means 90s Like A Dragon: Munan Chohept Onast Gaiden confirmed.
Beginner table cleared!
And intermediate right after on the first try lol
When Kiryu and Kashiwagi just… stared at each other, I was wondering what went on in their mind at that very moment. I can tell Kiryu wanted to say something, a lot of things, he held the man in his arms as he “died” after all, but realizing that he’s also supposed to be dead, he can’t do anything other than pretend he’s a stranger.
his brain was making connections between the bar name, its pun and the bartender.
I forced my way through 7 and I didn't enjoy it at all, unfortunately for me I'm no longer interested in the Yakuza series as long as they remain JRPGs. Hopefully Judgement 3 or similar comes along.
Boner no
Judgement 3 would be cool. But after the Johnnys fiasco with them not wanting Judgement on PC, I doubt it'll happen.
Doesn't Judgement ending up on PC mean the fiasco was solved?
Like I get Gaiden being made partially as a substitute for another Judgement game but that doesn't mean the series couldn't continue now.
It can also mean that business relationships have broken down and SEGA did the PC release to cash in on Judgment one last time
If relationships broke down they wouldn't have been able to make the PC releases in the first place.
Not exactly. Given that they likely had a set agreement on four releases I'd say they blew the last two on the PC ports and burned their bridges.
There's a new Johnny's drama.

>Find out he's someone Kiryu met during Yakuza 5 at the end of Gaiden
>Dies not even half way into Y8
>Never find out who he was
Name a worse plot point
I highly doubt he's actually going to stay dead precisely because Gaiden was originally conceived as Kaito Files for 8, so this was meant to be dropped on the player after his "death"
>he actually thinks hawana died
Tomizawa said he's dead.
He took a Snake Eater fake cyanide pill so he can be the villain/bartender in the next game
Bartender next game is Sawa sensei
It's Morinaga. Yokoyama told it to a Saeko cosplayer.
The brawler mod for LAD8 is coming along quickly.
i wish there was more effort towards the yakuza 7 mod. Im mostly comfortable with the combat in yakuza 8
The Brawler 7 mod already took about 2 years of work, it was much harder than it'll be in 8 since there wasn't any framework from Dragon's Resurgence to use as a basis.
I hope the Goda spin off sees the light of day
I also would love to see a Daigo spin off I always found him to be an interesting character that was dumbed down to give Kiryu protagonist(happened again with the entire cast of Infinite Wealth)

What do you need $9,999,999.99 for?
well not much to be honest since I have every 7 star weapon but I'm missing a lot of the middle tier ones, hopefully it will be enough to craft those since I most likely have to bulk buy geodes by the hundreds too.
>game is called infinite wealth
>your wealth is finite
Why did Joryu reject her offer? Is he stupid?
Didn't he admit in Y8 that he actually had sex?
He admitted to have "proposal experience" whatever the frick that means.
They don't want to completely mindbrake their fujo audience.
He has experience with confessing to one(1) woman.
He literally says he's "been around a few times.”
He's a moron who had a few half-baked or one-sided relationships, which gives him more love experience than Ichiban has. That line doesn't confirm anything about sex.
No way gay
Isn't it creepy how Kasuga is skinwalking Nishiki?
>Wears red.
>Fish-dragon tattoo
>Same voice
>Imagines himself being kiryu's kyodai
I'm honestly kinda surprised that they didn't just re-use Nishiki's Judgment and call it Ichiban's Judgment.
Go back in time and show the inception of the Tojo Clan, and maybe the Omi. We literally know nothing about the guy who started the Tojo Clan besides his name.
Maybe let people be the patriarch of their own subsidiary as well.
Why didn’t curry man return in Y7 or even Y8? He would’ve been the perfect Sujimon.
Am I getting catfished by Kuwana here
The biggest disappointment with this minigame is that there were actual women and they weren't all just catfishing.

Here's a guide to brute-forcing Mahjong and getting 100% completion:
https://www.reddit.com/r/yakuzagames/comments/nq6aes/an_online_tool_that_helps_you_easily_win_at/
The TLDR version is that there's two websites you can use. The first lets you create a hand out of tiles, the second tells you which tiles should most likely be discarded and how many tiles you need until you can "Riichi", aka calling UNO and being one tile away from winning.
I did not learn Mahjong, and only kinda gain some knowledge from just grinding out games using this method, but I did 100% Yakuza 7 with this. Here's how it works:
1. Create a hand of tiles with the 1st website
2. Check which tiles to discard on the 2nd website, keep in mind that the website doesn't know what has been discarded so you need to use your eyes to see what is most likely to be pulled by you or not stolen by your enemies. Sometimes the tiles are equally likely to discard, that means you need to look at the board, see if there's been any tiles discarded that matches your most-likely-to-discard then play those (Remember there's only 4 copies of each tile).
3. Keep it up and hope you get to Riichi as soon as possible, you'll know when it says youre in "Hearing" at the top of the 2nd website.
4. Press X on Xbox or Square on Playstation, Declare Riichi
5. Pick a Tile to discard for Riichi, make sure you pick one that is most likely to be pulled or stolen, there's a indicator which shows how many tiles are still in play.
6. Now either wait until you pull a tile you need this is a Tsumo win, or wait until you can "Ron" and steal the final tile to win.
You don't need to memorize anything or learn how to strategize, but it is still brute-force, so prepare to be patience and wait for a win. There's three things to keep in mind: Don't steal if you're not in Riichi. If lose the first round, just restart, you'll save yourself a lot of time. If you're the dealer you get a 1.5x bonus so that's the most important round to win
Oh and every time you discard and draw a tile, make sure to go back to the 1st website, update your hand, copy the code and paste into the 2nd website to get the next set of instructions.
