No it's pretty insanely underrated. Literally no one played it, let alone the new gen of moronic zoomers.
This and muramasa were the only reasons to own a vita, and they remain trapped in that sunk ship.
Maybe not the most underrated of all the games, but definitely the most underrated MonHun clone. This and Wild Hearts are the only 2 that don't feel like complete shit to play
they utilized their budget and made a very unique, simple and memorable way to tell a story that i honestly wouldnt have it any other way. sure the gameplay isnt the best in the genre but its serviceable
You have to remember a lot of people tried playing Freedom Wars exactly like Monhun when it came out. I remember watching youtube vids of japanese people trying to melee everything and just getting floored.
Didn't understand you have to use your guns and thorns.
After playing on a PSTV with a real controller and LAN cable, I enjoyed freedom wars more. Doing the thorn lasso shit sucked on the vita shoulder buttons
>freedom wars >we made a monster hunter clone but it's too much like monster hunter so we need something to stand out >how about an enemy team that respawns every 2 minutes that carries weapons such as sniper rifles that deletes 90% of the players hp and assault rifles that can burst down the players health from 100% to 0% in around a second >wow that sounds awful but everything else has been tried in the genre so we don't have a choice
Soul Sacrifice is more "cinematic" than any other Sony game in the fact that it has an actual story that's enjoyable from start to finish. Even most of the side stuff has a good story.
They could have had more sales had it come earlier in the Vita's lifetime and had an "ultimate" version with a ps4 port. Kind of like Dragon's Crown. There was no reason to limit Freedom Wars to the Vita or Soul Sacrifice. Sony is just moronic.
At least Tearaway and Gravity Rush escaped.
>downloaded Vita3K because anons keep saying this is the best MH clone ever >prologue just spews a bunch of fricking bullshit at you and expects you roll with it >placed in a boss battle with giant enemy so big I can't see half the shit that's going on >it's one of those "single button does big spell" games >feel like i'm playing the vidya equivalent of a baby sensory video
Yeah, there's no good MH clone.
Yes, my ADHD riddled brain that has thousands and thousands of hours in the old MH games, simply couldn't handle all those flashing lights, loud explosions and screen prompts, but that's okay, I just went straight back to picking mushrooms for a good three hours to mellow my ADHD brain out, so it's all fine.
They all gave up the second Capcom went back to PlayStation with World, even God Eater that managed to survive enough time to get 3 entries vanished after that.
I blame the anime's production being a disaster and the mobage. Hilarious how some extra shading was the straw that broke the camel's back for the animation sweatshop machine.
If you liked the idea of optimizing your schedule it was fun. Once you got yourself into a nice groove it could be easy to sink hours upon hours into it. Unfortunately it's also the sort of game that's very very hard to return to after a break because it has no in game maps.
The most underrated game in all of vidya. Fricking shame it was locked to the Vita where it would get no apotlight.
Not even close anon, but it's better than 95% of similar games, that's for sure.
It's not the most underrated but it's a very very good game.
Art, music, story, gameplay, UI, controls are all great.
No it's pretty insanely underrated. Literally no one played it, let alone the new gen of moronic zoomers.

Didn't sony put the full version of this up as a demo and doom the company?
im not gonna lie i actually liked a lot of the hunting games on vita
SSD > MHFU(psp) > Freedom Wars > Toukiden 2 > Toukiden 1 > Ragnarok Oddysey Ace
>thought for a second that anon installed an ssd on his vita
The only Monster Hunter clone worth playing forever stuck in Vita-hell
excuse me?
You have to remember a lot of people tried playing Freedom Wars exactly like Monhun when it came out. I remember watching youtube vids of japanese people trying to melee everything and just getting floored.

Unfinished as frick, needed a Delta version.
After playing on a PSTV with a real controller and LAN cable, I enjoyed freedom wars more. Doing the thorn lasso shit sucked on the vita shoulder buttons
I wanna do that
You had to be there in like the 2015-16 era where they were selling PSTVs for $20 new and the online was still populated
It's all over now...
>Want to shill Freedom Wars to friends
>Vita3k doesn't even have multi
Shiiiit
>freedom wars
>we made a monster hunter clone but it's too much like monster hunter so we need something to stand out

Sony only cares for cinematic "over the shoulder" games.
Soul Sacrifice is more "cinematic" than any other Sony game in the fact that it has an actual story that's enjoyable from start to finish. Even most of the side stuff has a good story.
You know exactly what definition of "cinematic" sony has.
Sony wanted millions of sales, despite being a new IP, that is insane.
Sony specifically wanted a "MH replacement" which at that point was 3DS exclusive so Freedom Wars had to be portable.
yeah HAD to be
that's why there weren't ports of Monhun to ps3 and wii and wii u and switch and pc and xbox and
WHY DIDN'T THEY LET US SAVE HER?
"they" do let you save her, she just won't stop fighting until you sacrifice her
Reminder that Scam-man produced this game, it is the proof that he can genuinely have good ideas but he needs to be heavily controlled.

Yeah, there's no good MH clone.
You played a game for 5 minutes and your ADHD riddled brain couldn't handle it. That's what I'm reading here.
Production was cancelled to fund another Horizon Zero Dawn remaster for the PS6
Irony how everyone gave up with making a "MH clone" while Capcom itself hasn't give up in making a "Pokemon Clone".
They all gave up the second Capcom went back to PlayStation with World, even God Eater that managed to survive enough time to get 3 entries vanished after that.
Capcom now will put MH everywhere, anyway.
There will be a God Eater 4 and a Code Vein 2
I will will them into being.
I blame the anime's production being a disaster and the mobage. Hilarious how some extra shading was the straw that broke the camel's back for the animation sweatshop machine.
Any oreshika friends?
Yes, never managed to work up the willpower to tackle the post game.
I remember trying out the demo and wanting to play it but never got around to it. How was it?
If you liked the idea of optimizing your schedule it was fun. Once you got yourself into a nice groove it could be easy to sink hours upon hours into it. Unfortunately it's also the sort of game that's very very hard to return to after a break because it has no in game maps.
Port up my ASS, gump.
Can you pull it out, Lt. Dan?
