>A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but remember that even when those who move you be Kings, or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus." Or that, "Virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that.
How do you respond without sounding like an atheist, Ganker?
This isn't how a teenager talks.
>"This isn't how a teenager talks."
>*lifts up his mask and spits in your face*
that's not a very christian thing of you to do
turn the other cheek (ass), homosexual
Which is what you would have done if you weren’t a larper.
>"How right you are."
>prays for forgiveness
>spits in your face again
there must be war no cap ON GOD fr
How do they know "God wills it!" ?
Isn't this a sin or whatever to talk in stead of the Lord?
The Pope speaks Gods word on Earth, google Papal infallibility.
Problem is that papal infallibility was instituted in 19th century. They would obviously say that it's retroactive, and it was always there, however as a matter of fact before that moment absolutely nobody knew about papal infallibility.
>your soul is in your keeping alone
Not when you sell it to the israelites, Satan or some corporation or whatever the frick else people nowadays do.
That is exactly the point being made by the quote, brainlet.
You can't sell something which doesn't belong to you. You keep it as long as you're alive, but it's not yours.

Ask Reinauld, it's what he said.
I'm not even Christian, but I generally wish Outremer had succeeded. It's biggest problem was not allowing Muslims into its bureaucracy and armed forces; it meant they were always short on manpower and equipment whereas had they allowed it they would have had one of the world's first religiously tolerant state and would have had a big propaganda win like Spain before the completion of the Reconquista, or Sicily under the Normans.
Sicily was already pretty tolerant for the time, being one of the few places to trade with muslims. I think Christians at the time just didn’t “get” Islam, it was seen as pagan and not the third abrahamic iteration
Yeah, that's largely true. The first translation of the Quran into a European language was done in Spain, which I believe happened after the annexation of Toledo IIRC. Interestingly enough, it was done to refute Islam, and was done by multiple Christians, a Muslim, and a very notable israeli man (the latter makes sense because israelites at the time were often highly educated and often served as intermediaries and translators between Spanish monarchs and their Muslim subjects).
The mosque-cathedral in Cordoba (Spain) has two spanish christian kings who were buried by their heirs in muslim fashion and with pieces of muslim scripture decorating their tombs. There was straight admiration for them at points in history from the christian side.
Of course, the funny part is that the writings in said tomb are actually total nonsense that doesn't say anything and is really just individual letters taken from the quran, which means muslims at the time would have seen it as the equivalent of a weeb saying random vaguely japanese sounding words.
>mu tolerance
bunch of morons, you can't live alongside islam
Daily reminder that this scene never happened in real life. Saladin lifted the siege of Karak and hightailed it back to Damascus the moment he found out that Baldwin was on his way.
Outremer would have succeeded if Baldwin didn't get leprosy and the Greeks didn't stupidly massacre all of the Catholics in Constantinople (which resulted in the Fourth Crusades).
I would disagree with your assessment. By its very nature, Outremer could not survive without fresh knights and recruits from either Europe or local forces. The problem being by the late 1100s most of the lands were already owned by local knights, and more land couldn't be parceled out to meet the requirements of a stronger landed nobility and the troops that entailed. Most of the borderlands were highly dangerous due to raiding, or just not fertile enough to support men at arms and the people necessary to farm that land. As I have stated, without more troops or a greater tolerance for other faiths in the beauracracy and army, the Crusader states were constantly scraping the bottom of the barrel in manpower terms.
If you wish, I can back up this argument with some sources, though it will take me some time, as I only have access to my phone while I'm with the family during the holidays.
>Saladin lifted the siege of Karak and hightailed it back to Damascus the moment he found out that Baldwin was on his way.
lmao why? wouldn't they be outnumbering the dude anyway?
>lmao why? wouldn't they be outnumbering the dude anyway?
why this never works in crusader kings?
you keep losing as long as the enemy just chucks out enemies at you regardless of how skilled the commanders or soldiers are.
It could happen in CK2 with right unit and commander compositions, but a lot of it was balanced away because it could the game too easily breakable because just can't prepare for it.
*AI just can't prepare for it
>Saladin continued his march towards Jerusalem, believing that Baldwin IV wouldn't follow him. He attacked Ramla, Lydda and Arsuf, but because Baldwin was supposedly not a danger, he allowed his army to be spread out over a large area, pillaging and foraging. However, unknown to Saladin, the forces he had left to subdue the King had been insufficient and now both Baldwin and the Templars were marching to intercept him before he reached Jerusalem.
>Saladin was taken totally by surprise. His army was in disarray: part had been held up by the mired baggage train while another part of his force had scattered into raiding parties across the countryside. The horses were tired from the long march. Some men had to hurry to collect their weapons from the baggage train. Saladin's army, in a state of panic, scrambled to make battle lines against the enemy.
Computer number simulations that govern battles in Crusader Kings obviously don't factor in all those details. Not to mention that there are no humans commanding the armies during the battles who could potentially make very good or very bad decisions that could quickly turn the tide of the battle.
There is a cool mod for CK3 called "Crusader Wars" that actually allows you to fight your CK3 battles in Attila Total War. It will certainly help to make more victories like that possible.
>greatly exaggerated
>stupidly
It is understandable that something was done about the Catholics in Constantinople since the Italian merchants were just too good in economical colonization and monetary trickery, they were quite literally buying Byzantine lands from under the crown and the local nobility and had assumed control of vital trade in the capital already. Andronikus II went full moron with it though like he later went full moron with purging the Greek nobility of potential and imaginary traitors which led to his deposition and execution.
>put a colonial outpost in the heartland of Islam
>expect it to last
It would have been gone eventually (due to political reasons), even the 1st crusade was just a fluke since at the time the ruling Muslims didn’t care ass they were busy with things they deemed more important. After they started taking it seriously they started to actually reconquer the area.
Crusader ideology was similar to communism, it was unsustainable over the long term.
>Can i go home to my family, then?
>Then go now to your father’s house at Ibelin, and from there protect the pilgim road. Protect the helpless. And then perhaps one day when I am helpless you will come and protect me.
I'm just glad that I didn't force anyone to take the vaxx. I hope you didn't either.
I love that scene.
What if he dies and meets Allah instead of Jehovah?
>What if he dies and meets Allah
Not a problem, everyone goes to heaven after paying for their sins. The religions are basically the same. Not sure why christians need him to pretend to be three guys though or why they have to make excuses for a prostitute that couldn't keep her legs shut.
Different name. That's it

This fricking dude became king at like the age of 13 then lived to lead successful army attacks on Muslims since the age of 16 up to 24 when he died. Meanwhile I'm 24 next month and I still haven't done shit with my life yet, don't even have a proper job yet since I'm just freelancing on the side while focusing on building up the skillset for starting up a business.
How in the goddamn frick are you supposed to look back to history, see all these people able to achieve so much shit early on and then not feel miserable with yourself?
Life was rough back then. We're talking about a time where people married when they were ~15 years old. You should be grateful to have your teen years spent in peace
realize that they lived in a completely different society with different values and different avenues for social mobility and measures of success. 99% of men born in his time didn't live lives like him either. a good majority of them died horrible deaths on battlefields for causes they only gave a shit about because they had to in order to have bread to eat.
remember that julius caesar wept at alexander the great's grave believing he could never achieve the greatness that he did. it's natural to look to those greater than you and find yourself lacking. but that doesn't mean you can't achieve things that have value to you personally or to those around you.
If Baldwin were to be born to a farmer, we would never hear of him. He would plow the fields for a few years and then die and be forgotten. Alexander was great only because his father was even greater. Philip II amassed the army that would allow Alexander to achieve immortality. He trained his son and prepared him to continue with the plan he set forward.
Damn... he beat me... I'm really just a worthless goy that gave up because it was easy
How could the Lord possibly forgive me for being such a miserable pest?!
I stand up and beat the shit out of him since he's a weak Leprous homosexual who lacks the strength to even stand on his own feet.

None of us know our end, really, or what hand will guide us there. A mod may move a thread, an admin may claim a board, but that board can also move itself, and only then does that board truly begin its own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your post is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be janitors or mods of power. When you stand before Hiro, you cannot say, "But I was molded by others to shitpost thus," or that sincerity was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice. Remember that.

What was your most interesting Crusader Kings campaign set during the Crusades?
I forgot exactly what date it was but I started playing as The Doge of Republic of Genoa at the age of 20. Some African Muslim Count down over in Spain waged embargo war on me to destroy my ports in his towns, I lost that war and he destroyed them. As retaliation, over the course of the next 40 years I eradicated every single Muslim ruler in Spain then conquered their lands and turned Genoa into an Empire Republic.
After that I spent the next 10 years just earning money and raising my son and daughter that I had with Queen of Aragon and Navarra that I met in one of the battle when she too, was directly fighting to eradicate the Muslims from Spain.
After that, at age 70, the Pope suddenly declared a crusade for Jerusalem and I went there fighting on the front with my army. Captured a bunch of provinces, made friends with various Crusaders I met, pillages and destroy a Muslim Holy Site. Beheaded Muslim captives, fought a bunch of them in duels on the battlefield and won despite me being an old man and some of them being in their prime... 5 years later, Crusade finally comes to an end and the Pope gives the Kingdom of Jerusalem to my daughter who was like 20 at the time.
After that I just sat back and didn't do much but help her whenever she would send me requests for help in her wars against nearby Muslims surrounding her kingdom.
Became Infirm at the age of 91 and then just made my Son King of Spain at the age of 42 and granted him Independence.
I stopped playing after that, idk what happened to Genoa, I think my son would've taken over it still after my death, but that was a pretty cool since I didn't expect to live that long.
My English king, Wymund, had a bastard daughter with a black noblewoman I named Richenda. He had been focusing on the crusades in that time, and when he noticed the girl was innately suited to war, he started grooming her as his heir. I "removed" all the king's sons from the running, eventually leaving Richenda the only suitable heir. When my king died in battle, she ascended the throne and began my most effective conquest in the entire campaign. Starting in Egypt she swept down into Africa, up into the Middle East and ultimately formed Outremer after completely ousting Islam from the region.
Unironically the best warrior I've ever seen in the game, she slaughtered three different sultans in personal combat and had a kill count nearly into the triple digits from battle alone.
God bless that b***h.
>woke campaign
>black woman queen of England that's an absurdly skilled warrior that kicks the shit out of highly-trained men and wins every fight and do what nobody else could

Crusades Campaign
What is Jerusalem worth?
All of israeli life.
I'd play some Baldwinkino, but only if my Gankerbando William Marshall is playable in some capacity.
Why are the crusades in the Middle East romanticized.again? It was a non-stop trainwreck
>one success(I crusade)
>one pyrrhic victory(III crusade regains some land on the coast and yet it STILL fails to reconquer Jerusalem)
>one "success" which did an incalculable damage to the Christian cause(IV crusade)
>otherwise the crusaders get constantly mogged by the muzzies for 200 years straight
Anything that involves the killing of muslims/jews deserves to be romanticized.
Not when they kill crusaders way harder than the other way around
Why not? Muslims still died at the end of the day, that's all that matters.
>crusaders don't do shit in the inner Anatolia, it safely remains in the Turkish hands
>Jerusalem chimping out at Shiite Fatimids leads to Sunni Saladin easily overthrowing them and forging a united Sunni front across the Middle East that easily mogs Christians
>IV crusade absolutely fricks up Byzantium, enabling further Turkish expansion into their territories
>this ultimately end up to Ottomans conquering into the Balkans and beyond
>"a-at least some muslims got killed"
The absolute state of radical idiocy never fails to surprise me.
I don't even know most of these gay ass irrelevant names, I'm just happy some muslims got killed at a point in time.
All that shows is your lack of education and your inability to look at something with an impartial view, an eye to basic nuance, and the effects of your own radicalization and need to have an "other" to hate, nothing more.
SandBlack folk don't deserve the luxury of nuance until they stop being violent savages, or at least go back to their countries to be violent savages in.
I understand your need for a simple enemy to hate, as I was a radical at one point as well, but I pray for your salvation from needless hate regardless. A list of books I would recommend are The Crusades: The Authoritative History of the War for the Holy Land by Thomas Asbridge, and The Crusade Through Arab Eyes, both of which can be found on libgen. Of course, the impetus would be on you to try and educate yourself; I can do no more than suggest this.
Blah blah blah, go back to your desert shithole and maybe I'll bother reading up on your culture before islam ruined it and made it into a brown inbred mush.
It isn't my culture, as I am a Caucasian Buddhist.
Indeed, it is needless. Look within yourself: Does your hate really make you feel good, or does it generally lead to your own suffering and misery? Does it make you happy in the short and long term, or does it lead to mental anguish and despair and hopelessness? I think you already know the answer.
Real buddhists can't even bother to tolerate muslims lmao, who are you trying to fool.
>caucasian buddhist

Further suggested reading The Early Islamic Conquests by Fred McGraw Donner, Islam, an Historical Introduction by Edinburght University Press, and After the Prophet: The Epic Story of the Shia-Sunni Split by Lesley Hazleton.
Protip: read up on medieval logistics if you want to larp as an impartial allknowing authority on the subject of Outremers.
I never claimed to be all knowing, or even a scholar on this subject. I am just a historian who enjoys learning about these things. Nothing that I posted is the end all to knowledge on the subject, but rather, it is a good series of books for a basic understanding of it.
Nah, he's right. Islam is shit, and any setback or hindrance to the Islamic world, however grand or minor, should be counted as a victory for humanity.
>dies of low birth rates
The problem with morons like you is that you reveal to your enemy that you are irrationally hostile to them and will never want peace. So whenever the tables turn and they have power over you, they are gonna immediately exterminate you. Whereas if you were peaceful in the first place they wouldn’t bother
And of course even neighboring civilizations like China etc.. will think of you as a potential threat as well (maybe after the Muslims they are next) so all you do by being moronic is make enemies of the whole world
This is basically what israelites have been doing, and it’s why the whole world hates them for one reason or another and everyone wants to exterminate them if they get the chance
Not interested in your Abrahamic nonsense.
>Bringing China into this as if they wouldn't be delighted to see all Muslims go up in a puff of smoke
Lol.
>China currently allied with Russia and China against the West
What makes you this moronic? Are you just underage? Or just actually mentally challenged
China doesn't like religion and is playing both sides like the good slant-eyed israelites they are (which to be honest I can't blame since I'd love for my country to be doing the exact same too), simple as.
>Whereas if you were peaceful in the first place they wouldn’t bother
Lol tell that to the non violent Hindu societies mudslimes wiped out during their conquest. They proudly wrote in their books about putting all men to the sword and making the rivers run red, while claiming all their women as trophies. Eight hundred years of this until India, the place that had invented the first flush toilet, had been reduced to what it is today.
Why would someone want to claim ugly pajeet women?
Hindus back then weren't the inbred subhumans as you know them to be today. Same way Egyptians weren't sandBlack folk either. Those places and its peoples were exterminated and then subsequently defiled by the invaders for centuries.
Are you getting this off some twitter troony page? The idea of a “peaceful non-violent” Hinduism is a myth. The first conflicts between the Arabs and Indians were that of Indian pirates attacking Arab trade routes (very easy money) and of course Arab merchants then hiring mercenaries to protect their shekels and then launching raids into India and setting up outposts (similar to modern day American navy bases across the world) which then grew into their own independent Islamic nations. In fact some of these mercenaries were literally other Hindus/Buddhists etc….
Aside from the fact that back then India wasn’t even majority Hindu and had many other Vedic sects and religions there (wiped out by Hindus themselves)
Although technically Hinduism as know it today didn’t exist, and what we call “Hinduism” is actually a group of many religions.
Arabs (nor Greeks or Persians before them) had any intention to conquer the whole subcontinent anyways since there was nothing civilized to conquer, they conquered the Indus Valley and the Delhi river valley. The rest were trade ports set up on the coast lines similar to what the Portuguese did.
>yes, they won and even managed to get into Europe because crusaders were moronic in 1204 but it's okay because a few of them died along the way
Okay

Weirdo.
Truth is even by then religion wasn't that important and most wars were more about politics rather than ideology.
The French allying with the Ottomans, the catholic Spanish kingdoms which were the most powerful kingdoms in Iberia fighting each other for centuries rather than attack the Moors right away. The Crusades which were a fricking meme, the Venetians fricking everything up.
Croatia held back the Muslim menace for hundreds of years.
Crusades directly led to the Age of Exploration. Pope Urban II calling for the First Crusade was one of the most important events in history.
>crusaders lose outnumbered and unsupplied on muzzies home ground

Gee, who knows?
Crusader Kings 2, you can play as him and actually save Jerusalem somehow.
Play crusader kings 2, 3 is fun too but you won't be winning any crusades since the AI is moronic. Either you solo and blitz the heathens/Muslims, or God abandons you.
None of us know really what truly makes a game fun, or what hands will craft it next.
An oil prince might pre-order a game, access to all sorts of exclusive gear and early day access.
A father who works 9-5 might look up all the things worth doing on youtube to have the best build in the brief time afforded to him.
A man may choose to do neither, only he can choose and when he does choose only then can he decide how truly he wants to have fun with a game
Remember how so you choose to play a game, your enjoyment with the game is your keeping alone
Even though those playing the same game be shills, whales, hardcore players, casuals.
When you stand before Ganker you cannot say
">i was told by reddit and Ganker this was the best strat"
">the game has no challenge to it because i looked up where the best gear was hidden"
or that
">i didn't have the time to experiment and needed the best build so i had to optimize the fun out of the game to get it asap"
this as criticism, will not suffice, remember that
Pretty sure both Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring have very similar masks
i enjoy this movie because it minimally uses the boiling pitch during a siege meme, which is a product of hollywood, however there is judicious usage of throwing heavy ass stones down over the walls on said besiegers
Great leader, irrelevant country.
zoomers only care about this movie because it was cropped into tiktok over some shitty gay remix and spammed incessantly for months

Who would play leper colony tycoon? Think about the investors, they don't want controversial games.
Ck3 ?
Since some are discussing ck3, how is a Norse game making a hybrid horse lord culture, raid Rome and byzantium, and then 50 years later conquer Persia and make a hybrid Norse horse Persian culture? And then from there keep raiding Rome and Arabia and shit.
What would be the historical consequences of Outremer was able to mantain these borders for the regional players?
And why would the turks convert to orthodox christianity and become subjects to the Emperors in Constantinople?
>Gherma
Easier access to Asian trade for Christian Europe could have made western ocean exploration unnecessary and postponed European colonialism maybe by centuries, it probably would have happened eventually anyways but very differently.
I miss CK2 but I can't find creamAPI anymore and the game is unplayable without all the DLC, CK3 is such a contentless piece of shit
Crusader Kings 2, dipshit
is this movie actually good
is this character basically the burned man from fallout new vegas
He is a good King. People like him because it reminds the audience the attributes of a good leader
The first half of the movie is a 9/10 from this guy performance alone.
Never played fallout.
the directors cut is ok but ridley scott ls on the muslims didn't do nothing, the crusades were a crime atheist boomer nonsense.
Saladin is probably the only Muslim worth any sort of respect tbh.
One of the best. Baldwin and Saladin are great kings, and yet slaves to the noble and common man alike.
Elder Scrolls 6 will have a king that is inspired by King Baldwin. Screenshot this
and he will be black 🙂

Richard the Lionheart was a piece of shit israelite enabler who passed on laws to forbid violence against israeli people. Frick off.
He only passed those laws after letting most of the israelites in England be massacred without any consequence for the ones that did it.
looks like that butthole that called me a virgin at the start in elden ring
