It's not exclusively tied to Zelda YTPs, it's just a YTP intro that someone put together around 2010 and several poopers began using it at that time. For someone who "loves YTP" and is as old as you pretend, it's strange you haven't stumbled upon it at least once.

For once I actually agree with Joe here. Regardless of if the models were LITERALLY copied or not, the fact that people have to investigate the frickin vertices to figure it out shows that the designs are obviously a mishmash. And, while I find the whole controversy amusing, I do wish that they had gone in their own direction with the designs, instead of "le heckin pokemon but with GUNS! lol!". Game looks legit fun, and I love monster collecting shit. If anything, thats where my woe lies.. another potentially fun and (actually popular) monster collecting game scared by memery
Yeah, I dont get why people are pointing to that as if it disproves the models aren't the same. Maybe they are, maybe not, but models are able to freely change sizes, that's one of the major advantages of 3D models. It's like saying Dynamax pokemon are different models than their normal models just because theyre scaled bigger. Theyre not.
Yeah. Combine that with a strange desire to always be on the "correct side", and unwillingness to admit to not knowing something, and it leads to billions of armchair know-it-alls.
Yeah, I mean, anyone with a brain and eyes can see that theyre clearly rip offs. Whether the models were LITERALLY ripped, and if so whether or not they'd still fall under fair use for being transformative or not, idk. Not a lawyer, and my knowledge of CAD is limited, so not gonna speculate on that. But it sure feels like it, and besides that, the greater point is, the designs are clearly ripoffs and anyone saying otherwise is high on copium.
Still, glad its seemingly making TPC shit themselves on this. Its entertaining.
>whether or not they'd still fall under fair use
If NoA tries to sue pocket pair it'll be deemed fair use, the models have been changed enough that it can be considered transformative and the gameplay loops of pokemon and PalWorld are nowhere near the same.
The only problem comes is if GF or TPCI decides to go after pocket pair, since fair use doesn't exist in nippon according to a bunch of gays. But most popular manga and stuff can get away with things like "mcronalds" and "GFC" when they want to have a fast food restaurant in their comic so it's hard to say where it would go in court.

Because its not just the scalling. Dont you morons wonder why some parts sticks out? You dont look at the polygons and if they seems similar. You just conflate them at first glance
That's irrelevant to what I was saying, anon. If you read the post, you'd know I'm not stating its stolen or not, purely just that the argument of "it's scaled therefore its not stolen" holds no water. Everyone's been making a big deal about the scaling thing when they should be look for things like what
The models literally don't even have the same topography, anon.
It hold no water because its meaningless on its own especially when we can see that even at the same scale they dont fit. Youre just saying useless shit to defend your favorite corporation
I think this one is the most damning one I've seen so far. You can't tell me this isn't 1:1 with Rowlet's proportions and stunned/attacked animations.
maybe they are ripping of toys like a chicken plushie
some of those designs are good that you wonder how they end up in some random shitty asset flip game while other designs are for the garbage bin (open world survival crafting early access)
I don't think any artist that respects his own work would team up with a company that lifted assets from Breath of the Wild and produced not one but two generic survival crafting sandbox games
There have been actual, established game developers that have come out and debunked this post. The models aren't ripped but that tweet is not the gotcha you think it is
The angle given further down - "They probably didn't mean to be malicious and are just inexperienced and fricked up" is definitely a far more fair take than a lot I've seen on this
>admitted that he scaled the models himself.
Modeltard is now saying scaling makes a new model... Truly the moron of morons is you.
That's seriously dumber than new texture being a new model.
At least here it's not whole models... Just chunks of them.
th epalworlds defense force is paid shill and contrarian children, it doesn't matter if you put he law and hte crime in front of htem, they just post a dog and yell noesnse and hope the smell of them shitting htemselves is enough to rewrite reality.
I'm sorry, but there's no way. If there was a precedent for this company asset ripping other aspects of the game, then I'd be suspicious... but there's not. It's exclusively Pokemon fans asserting that models are being used because the monster designs are creatively bankrupt.
https://twitter.com/moxxyrav/status/1749426277059121512
Literally the same storyboard as the BOTW opening with the same sound effects at the end and it even uses the same stylized wind effect. Come the frick on.
There's a precedent for this company stealing sound effects from Breath of the Wild and entire cutscenes storyboards in their Craftopia game.
Dumbasses. "Ripping off" and being creatively bankrupt is not the same thing as asset ripping. Pocketpair can be a shitass company without a creative thought in their heads-- but one of these things is a crime, and the other is just being a bad game developer.
There is *no* evidence that they imported, spliced, or scaled models from Pokemon. Hate the game, but accusing the developers of literally stealing Nintendo's assets is crazy.
Im not making the case one way or the other that theyre stolen. I'm saying that "it's been scaled, therefore it cant be stolen" doesn't hold up, as models can be scaled naturally. That, in and of itself, is not enough to disprove that models are stolen.
But him saying they haven't been debunked implies that the burden of proof is on them to show that the models aren't stolen, when it should be the other way around. If you claim your model was stolen you should have evidence other than "Uhh it looks similar to me!"
I mean, sure. I agree with you. At least from the screenshots here, Joe SEEMS to be taking a more neutral stance of "its a distinct possibility" (but knowing him im sure he's biased wildly towards Pokemon's "side"), and in that sense I agree with him. But that's not enough to just say that it has been, without a doubt, stolen or altered.

Joe isn't the brightest he could be sued for this shit. People are baiting him.

americans are fricking moronic lol
This didn't age well
Surely Nintendo, a Japanese company, would never take legal action against anyone at all, whether be it future or past....
a 40 year old pokemon celebrity should be kept away from children anyway. lets hope he gets prison time

The dude that posted the original "evidence" literally admitted that he scaled the models himself. Palworld's actual models aren't like that.
You know what scaled means right? It just means resized, not edited or distorted.

Why's that green Goodra got a Meganium face
Because Goodra's face is awful.
Hey guys, check out my original monster design.
Pikachu if he was a good Pokémon
>Not naming him Pikablu
There have been actual, established game developers that have come out and debunked this post. The models aren't ripped but that tweet is not the gotcha you think it is
There were multiple developers willing to speak on it.

Literally the same storyboard as the BOTW opening with the same sound effects at the end and it even uses the same stylized wind effect. Come the frick on.
Youre just moronic if that sound the same as botw
They literally ripped off BotW Bokoblins and Moblins in one of their earlier games.

I didn't expect Joe to seriously join the "they stole the models!" train.
I mean, he's right. The model being scaled does nothing to disprove it being the same one or not.
The models literally don't even have the same topography, anon.

Why are you siding with evil corporations like Gamefreak and bootlicker shills of evil corporations like Joe Merrick?
Because Palworld doesn't have Sabrina in its game, meaning its objectively inferior.
Because Palworld doesn't have Candice in its game, meaning its objectively inferior.
>stating facts is now "bootlicking" etc.
>also muh team sides
stop being stupid
if some stuff was lifted from somewhere people will find it eventually
thats the downside of spamming this site with bad faith nintendo fanboy memes
if I was a lawyer I would literally go down to the nearest toy store and look at animal plushies lmao
>they stole the models!!!
>please ignore that I can’t actually show proof of the models being stolen
If inspiration is theft, then everything ever would be sued by now
TOMORROW I'LL

There's Reptile?
Alright now compare Palworld ganeplay to Pokémon gameplay because that's the only metric that matters.
Hey I just generated...uh I mean designed new Palworld monsters pals!
thanks bro
they look better than gen 8/9 starters
>Where there's smoke...
there's a fart
Why is Joe Merrick a moron who thinks pokemon invented catchable critters?
>Refactoring models means they're completely different (SWSH)
