In XIV's context people usually only put dragons on stuff if they've had extensive contact with them, like Ishgard and Radz-at-Han. Not exactly hard given the First Brood was sent to every corner of the world, but Bahamut is dead, Tiamat presumed missing (up in Azys La since the Allagans' time), Azdaja missing in the void since the Allagans' time, Nidhogg and Hraesvelgr both claimed the same general area, Ratatoskr dead 1000 years ago.

That's Marilith. The first twist is going to be that the FF1 four fiends are auspices, but aren't evil and do so in the open down there because the elemental everything is so fricked. It's kind of like Vrtra, they're basically running the continent. They heard about you and try to hire the scions trying to get help to finally fix the situation. The second twist will be "LOL SURPRISE they were evil like usual after all." and things come to a head when you fail to fall for the scapegoat and declare shenanigans.

It's nice to see they are finally putting more effort into the MSQ animation wise but it doesn't NEED to be silly like Manderville. They could add a little more to the *nods head* moments here and there to have a better effect on it as a whole.
What I'm not a fan of is the fact that the entire trial questline disappeared, they didn't add it to the MSQ, they just put the trials there and that's it, the rest of the effort didn't show up.

Nobody said they're FOMO. Rewards are always incentive to get into whatever content supplies the rewards. When people see a cool mount they want in savage, they'll be likely to try and get into savage raiding.

I beat the 6.0 story and took a big break. Turns out I don't have the item level or whatever the frick to do the 6.1 dungeon and continue the story. Is my best bet to just run the level 90 dungeons to get accessories to bump my item level up? The job gear meets the threshold but everything else doesn't. Also, I'm assuming the duty support shit will be quickest? My tanks and healers are in the 70s so I'll be DPSing. I want to see what the new story content is and maybe do the raids etc.

Duty support is usually slower, but on the plus side you get to go at whatever pace you want and look around the scenery instead of having to rush through the dungeon because your party members just want to get it done with. And you often get some interactions with the npcs, Alzadaal's was really funny.
Yeah I'll 100% do the new dungeons with the duty support members, it was just for grinding them so I can get the gear I need to actually continue with the narrative. I might just use the duty support system and watch some youtube to make it less tedious.
If it's for grinding, then PF is definitely better. However, you can afk through pulls with duty support. Will take WAYYYYY longer to complete and you have to be careful you don't forget about the dungeon for so long between pulls that you get ejected, but on the plus side you can put on a movie or something while grinding.
Can't say I care much under the current writer. His previous work was shite, his current work is shite and his future work will most likely be shite. Last expansion MSQ was just fricking abominable.
I'm still confused because I keep hearing he's not actually writing the 13th plot and that's actually a team of interns trying to write it collaboratively. Which honestly makes sense considering the big issues with this story is that characters don't fricking remember what was said before, and that could be blamed on a lot of writers each trying to push their own version of events.

Dragon's eyes come at the cost of the dragon's literal eyes and aren't going to be used as an aether battery unless under extreme circumstances, Azdaja's eye was severely drained and couldn't hold her consciousness the way the Vrtra's eye shoved into a puppet can
The Sharlayans really don't want you using the Ragnarok unless you absolutely have to (plus you don't actually have to use it to get to Ultima Thule, silly writing made a dynamis clone of it over at UT and the ship's inside can function as a portal between the two if you want)

The Crystal Tower soaks up solar aether, not aether from the land. The earth calamity was caused by it being unable to handle the extra energy load sent by Dalamud when Xande tried to open the voidgate, causing that energy to be flushed into the ground instead.
Solar aether with a little (a lottle) help from Bahamut and his dragons being tortured up on Dalamud anyways

RDM is my favorite job, but verraise is the reason why it stays in the cuckshed. you don't even use it in anything from ARR or HW, but it still holds you back. they seem to believe that dualcast verraise is so strong that they need to gimp your DPS to compensate. honestly i wouldn't mind a complete rework to actually make it a hybrid job like it's supposed to be, with a good melee rotation, a good dps rotation, and a good healing rotation. not the best in any category, but something fun and deals a decent amount of damage. not just jolt thunder jolt aero jolt thunder jolt aero jolt thunder fire aero jolt aero stone thunder jolt ad nauseum

The stiff rotation is something I partially dislike about DRG, but I hate all the fricking OGCD buffs the most. Ones that come up at 30, 45, 90, and 180 seconds, I spend more time watching the fricking cooldown bar than anything else. Instead of getting rid of them though, they should just roll them into the rotation, make the auto-crit and lifesteal just part of your 3, make the partywide crit bonus automatically activate when you get eyes of the dragon, etc.

First time im not raiding week 1 since SB and i wish i had stopped earlier. Raiding in this game is fricking ass when you force yourself to clear shit fast.
I genuinely don't understand how anyone can find (savage) raiding or other shit where you ram your head against a wall for ages with 7 other people fun.
Most of the time there aren't even good rewards and the only use for higher ilvl is more raiding.
That being said the normals for anabesios are great, probably some of the most fun I've had with raids in the game.
It's only fun if you're doing it with people you already know. I can't imagine trying to grind this shit out with randoms in PF Jesus frick.
Even then a part of my friend group is in a static and they seem as miserable as possible when they were doing P8S and other shit

Getting put into the files for 6.4 means it's sooner than we realize, I'm excited. I have Yuropoor friends I haven't seen since migrating to NA years ago and I know they still play.
They'll probably test it at some point between 6.55 and 7.0 like they did with regular server hopping, will probably be a big Fanfest bullebpoint as well.
It seems to be working so far, even before that when the game had less players than it does now I'd see queues up near and sometimes over 1000 trying to log in during the early hours of a new patch, now those seem to be more reasonable, down around 200-300.

or you can sell 99 of dark chestnut logs(example) for 30k so others can craft their own furnishing and relist the left overs
or 1k crystals for 100k to the same person knowing they won't relist the spare crystals

Literally all you have to do is copy a macro from the balance, buy materials off the marketboard, click a few times to make an item, then list it for 2.4 million and watch it sell nearly instantly.
Since the beginning of ShB I've averaged somewhere around 460 million gil in the first week of each of these patches, JUST the first week.

Diabolos is intentionally designed to frick tanks. His tankbusters hit hard and it used to be that you'd just conga line your tanks while he kills himself with his self-damage. Normally that type of thing in raids get lessened because of power creep in later expansions, but the main way you dealt with a lot of his bullshit was the ability that makes you immune to being critically hit, which they removed. Its not that much damage. Even in an absolute best case scenario e.g. speedkills ED is like 5% of your damage so its not worth stressing too much about it.

Their plan was to offload ED damage into the rest of the kit but it turned out that the job felt pretty bad when they deleted it at the start of ShB without something else to make up for it.
