Bit of a bummer what happened to nexus, They used to be a pretty good site. I don't have a problem with mods like that existing, people can mod whatever they like, but not when it's so biased in favor of them while banning and blocking anything they deem even remotely "offensive" no matter what. This is the same site that used to host the jas mod for about a year and it was one of the most popular mods for the game and now it'll flip its shit and have a ton of people crying in the comments if you simply make the most obnoxious guy in the valley, that everyone hates, white, despite there being tons of mods doing the opposite and getting celebrated for it.
This is why sometimes I wish for more content for Constanze, or save characters from RSV and such. But I know is ask for too much when modders are busy with something else. Patience and hoping for the best is all we can do I guess.

I've noticed a bizarre lack of custom npc waifus on Nexus. Feels like the last ones I ever saw where Katrielle and Jane, and they're like from over a year ago.
Jane have an issue right now because her house used to be where the raccoon tree is now. I used her mod in 1.56 so I was thinking no try her until they fix the bugs and issues. I want to try Katrielle, but the mod isn't updated for 1.6 yet

Does luck increase chance of getting qi beans? Asking because I know I have some lucky rings chested. I never thought about it but can you merge 2 of the same rings at the forge? So luck +4 if I have 4 lucky rings?

It should do but I have only just started the quest so I'm trying to find lots of beans right now and put them in the seed maker later.
You cant combine two of the same rings, but you absolutely should combine 2 lucky rings with 2 others because having a base plus 2 luck is really good. I don't think luck affects beeans but that won't matter cayse you get tons from doing everything anyways. Just fish and break open geodes you'll get like 30 to start your seedmaker processing
Shame about not being able the merge the 2 same rings. I think I have something like Iridium Band + Burgular's Ring and Lucky Ring + Napalm Ring combo. I've been getting lots of qi seeds from geodes/fishing and cutting down trees. I'm hoping I have found enough seeds in the first 2 days to be set. I just hope I have enough space on both farms to grow it all.

Mining still felt like slow levelling compared to fishing and farming. Fishing feels slow in real time but insanely speedy in game time.

Luck is the most important factor. Get the Burglar's Ring and a sea cucumber fish pond for Lucky Lunches if you haven't already.
Lots of food, bombs, a couple stair cases, teleport totem (in case you're about to get fricked), food that increases walking speed and what the first guy said. Although since the 1.5 update I sometimes find it easier reaching the top of the Ginger Island cave first, reaching the forge and merging rings and if you're really lucky you might find a good weapon there as well, then going back to Skull Cave to make it your b***h.
What rings should I be merging? 2 luck rings with an iridium band and a burglar ring?
That is a very good setup, go for it. I like the Napalm Ring (small explosion when you kill shit) which you get later so I usually sacrifice a Lucky Ring for it.
Don't forget the slime charmer ring. It's very convenient to not have to deal with slimes.
The charmer ring is nice but I have still yet to understand the purpose or use of the slime hutch. Just seems like a resource dump

You can all the Iridium you need without getting to floor 100
you need:
warp totem to desert
pickaxe
weapon
bombs (and explosive slingshot too preferably)
stairs
healing food
coffee
spicy eel
minimum one iridium band for the magnetism, if two then better (magnet rings in a pinch)
check your daily luck from TV before teleporting, only go on high luck day (purple star on screen)
the basic strategy is staircasing down and only stopping to bomb close iridium nodes and any mystic stones
keep in mind that it's worth bombing large clusters of rocks to reveal holes, which let you progress more floors at once
the deeper you are the more iridium spawns

I'm an ice wand enjoyer except when facing enemies that go invincible temporarily at which times I am not enjoying it.
Keeping them in place is just really useful. Especially with my unshakeable feeling that slimes aren't proccing stairgen due to being too close to the wall. I also really like how the projectile just never expires, you can leave the screen and reenter and it will still be there.
There is a ring for speed, it gives you +2 whenever you kill an enemy. Running that + napalm + two iridium bands and I've been sailing through cave floors

This remind me. The Clint to Cleo mod from modding haven works with SDV 1.6 but in winter, portraits and sprites return to the vanilla dude version. It would be great if some expert can fix it because in Nexus it won't happen. They deleted that mod apparently.
you could just overwrite the winter sprites/portraits/etc with the cleo standard ones if you wanted.

Even with that many chickens, that is roughly equivalent to one deluxe coop and a deluxe barn of animals, which is pretty easily sustained on my fenceless fields.
Something you could try temporarily to get your grass to regrow more evenly is to protect a couple spots here and there in the middle with some type of fence/rod to let the middle fill back in.
Alternatively, bite the bullet and fodder for a few days to let your grass spread further.

Has anyone actually done a deep dive or attempted one during that first spring? Unlocking the bus by the 15 or whatever it is.
You could probably manage it with some fishing luck, mainly for a solid starting wep, and maybe resetgrinding the mines for a prismatic shard for the big boy sword before you dive.
You don't really need to care about the bundles because you get 2 in the forge pretty much just clearing the mines and spring forage/crops will cover the other 2. As for the 42 grand, I don't know exactly what's the most efficient for that, fishing can provide pretty well, and if you autismd or programmed bubble predictions for some days (particular the first few levels).
Important note, can you obtain the galaxy sword during the festival itself? I think there's the blue tent there, but I'm not 100%.
Honestly the money wasn't even what I considered the biggest challenge as fishing is insane. It was moreso just finishing four bundles that fast that had me question if it was possible. The spring crops finish in time so that's 1. 2 is spring foraging. But I just don't see what other two you could do in time.

With the cc you still need roughly the same thing. It's 42.5k to fix the bus plus the extra bundles you'll have to clear before it shows up. Actually slightly cheaper than joja lol

Starting day 2 that's still like 40 fish a day, considering you have to eat them for energy, and that you need to clear the mines as well. I don't know, is the mountain lake considered the best Spring Fishing spot (at least up until 7 O'clock in clear weather)?
Maybe if you got really lucky on the cloud gacha and caught a shitload of catfish I dunno. Maybe caught and shipped the Legend too but that has a rain window.

Maybe I just got a bad run on it but lets say with Catfish bait I have a 20% chance to catch a catfish when I wouldn't have before.
I get 7 bait out of the generator for my 1 catfish.
So this would mathematically equate to +0.4 Catfish over 7 casts, at the expense of some Shad or whatever I would have hooked instead. This is also trading an easy perfect for a potentially difficult catch.
I know quality is a factor (you can chum the shitters to catch quality), and I might have just had a bad run when I was using it but it doesn't seem nearly worthwhile unless maybe you have a preserving enchanted rod and if you have a preserving enchanted rod what in the frick would you be profit fishing for.
Fish farms have always seemed completely shit to me as well. Put in a load of effort for a 2% chance at this sweet item every now and again.
I do a lot of lake fishing so largemouth bass and bullheads. Starting day 4 when you hit level 5 and get the 25% value buff you can pull 4-5k a day from the lake.
4-5K a day is still really pushing it considering that's day 4, and you still need to clear the mines, and buy the backpacks probably, as well as the fibreglass rod.
I think you can hit the fishing 10 at like day 9 or something, and the roe book is great for energy snacks, so maybe I'm discounting the +50% talent because I'm living the pirate life til I die.
Like was said, maybe if you used a program or trail and error to predict a shitoad of bubbles, especially on catfish days, you might have a shot, but I think you're looking for a few moments of serendipity to help you otherwise. Which might happen, I don';t think there's anything stopping you fishing up a pirate treasure chest in the first week.
I grow my pineapples inside too, for if that quest pops up. 25 to be acceptable, 34 to be safe, and clear it if it pops up on the next week post plant.

From the very premise, I have 0 clue how you would feasibly get 45k+ within 15 days starting from 500.
Fishing seems like the easiest moneymaker there for the early game, but I think I'd still come up short.
Say you went mining and upgraded your pick a bit and just absolutely smashed the mines, I don't see how you get that amount of money from there either when you need the bars for pick upgrades.

clay farming if you don't consider that cheating, but you wouldn't get anything by rushing to the skull caverns with at most a steel pick and some mallet you found in the mines, bombs are expensive as hell now too, that is if you get all dwarf scrolls to even buy them

oh yeah, I just remembered, there's a farm that gives you a fish smoker at the start, 40k with fishing is easy with that
You can always get a Prismatic shard randomly either from a kill or a mystery box.
Forge, the only barrier to those is mine depth (hell you could clear the bars while fishing)
You would need around 100 catfish all smoked to clear that. You would also end up ruining the rest of your run because you would not have the money to get strawbs at the eggfest. You COULD get strawbs at the desert festival, but getting 100 strawbs would require 500 eggs, which is kind of a hard thing to pull off with spring level gear. Besides, you'll basically end up forgoing an extra 20 harvest of strawbs you can get from the CC speedgrow reward. Not only is getting to the desert in spring borderline impossible, it's not worth it at all becsuse the majority of the rewards from it are asthetic things like furniture and the ability to get to very deep in the mines for the standard mine rewards like tons of iridium and shards. It's very clearly meant to be a y2 thing when you're most likely gonna be prepared for dives already

I am missing some crafting recipes, there are a few items I haven't shipped and lastly the golden clock. This is all I have left to complete the perfectionist ending. The golden clock is gonna be a grind but I got 2 qi bean quests back to back which I find fun to make the money making from wine seem less boring.

There's Ginger Island but that place sucks even worse than Skull Cavern. I could fill another barn full of pigs but just the one is time consuming as it is. How do you get over the mid-game "hump"?

Furnaces are definitely cheaper to set up than crystalariums, but crystalariums are a set and forget ~194g/day with diamonds.
Though I am unsure how blacksmith heavy furnace smelting compares with the gem production, I think I would still take it just for Miner anyway.

With the new mystic syrup I guess Tapper isn't completely pointless now, but it's still pretty close. Ape should have made it time based instead of money based. Tappers being like 25% faster would have been an actual incentive to use it.

The randomization is a little weird, I got almost no iron in the mines all the game, no auto petters from skull caverns, and took almost a year for 2 rabbit feet for the secret note + luck buff with a full heart rabbit.

The mines have an elevator you can use to constantly reroll any floor ending with 5 for zero time spent. Useful if the wizard asks you to kill ghosts or squid kids for a ticket or when you need bug meat for wild bait.

Use Stardrop and it will link you to all the prerequisites you need if the modder didn't frick up the manifest. Though they always frick up the damn manifest. It's not hard to put the correct version number in your manifest you fricking morons. I shouldn't have to do it myself.

I put my furnaces in the mine cave and get pissed off when Marlon destroys them walking around with his SVE schedule. Marlon aside it's a good spot for processors.
I wish rocks that spawned on the mountain farm just had a chance to contain ore rather than there being one big patch of rocks you can't ever build on without wasting the feature.
What's the best way to get coal early-ish in the game?
Just going through the mines normally will get you enough coal to smelt what you find. If you actually want to super stack coal, just keep rerunning the floors with the little black dot creatures that drop coal when you kill them.
