3rd Gen is best Gen. Gold/Silver maybe the best singlegames, but as a Gen in total, 3rd is better. It has everything that makes pokemon good, and it has all the relevant 386 Pokemon.

And as I said, I have all the Games, I have the Mystery-Codes (which you can share throug linkcabel with other 3rd gen games). Also, I play the game, catch what I need, and then I can leave it on the site for a year or two and then continue. Simple as. But you seem to want to be able to 100% complete the game in less then 2h. Why even bother to play it then?

Being able to get all pokemon, on release and with trading us what's expected in pokemon and a non issue.
You bought RS on release, it'll take you several years just to be ALLOWED to get pokemon that are already in the game.
There's zero justification for this bullshit beyond GF being greedy as all frick.

It didn't bother me when I got RS on release. Its also nice (especially on a gameboy game) to have new content years after release.
Also, to make another point for 3rd gen: Pokemon savefiles on a physical card like a gameboy game > pokemon stored on internal disk of a device > pokemon stored on some servers somewhere.
This is also a reason why i never botherd to play any Emu-Version more than 5minutes.

Gen 3 was the first big dip in quality by removing content like day/night, days of the week, and backwards compatibility.
Gen 4 was SLIGHTLY better but mostly hard carried by HGSS.
Gen 5 peaked.
Gen 6 was another dip. Really needed Z version to fix the problems of XY but alas it never happened so we're stuck with a incomplete gen.
Gen 7 dipped further.
Gen 8 was the bottom of the barrel.
Gen 9 broke the bottom of the barrel, found a second lower barrel, and went to the bottom of that.
