Not anon, but you get used to it with a little time.
I can't stand the shitty, mushy-ass DS dpad, although the series x is a bit stiff for doing dp motions.
If M$ made a variant that swapped the d-pad and left stick locations I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Of course if they did that, they'd want to widen the controller a bit like PS does to avoid thumbs being able to collide while pressing right on the left stick and left on the right stick.
Not trolling at all, I own all three (dual sense, series x, pro controller) and the clicky shield design they're using is genuinely fantastic. Try it for yourself if you don't believe me, I know Xbox has traditionally never had good dpads but this one is a real gem.
Of the current "big 3" first parties, surprisingly the Series X comes out on top.
To be fair, I'm using a launch edition Pro Controller, which has a really shitty dpad, but I've heard more recent models have been improved.
After opening up my xbox one s controller for the 4th time because the front shield was misaligned and the buttons were getting stuck, and accidentally ripping off the analog rubber, I wish I had bought used wii pro controllers instead. They are shit but at least they are sturdy.
dualshock 4
which is a bad controller
Xbox Series X controller.
This? You have to be trolling.
Why didn't I get a (You)? 🙁 And no I'm not trolling. imo this is seriously the best dpad on a controller since the Saturn.
I don't understand how it can be a better dpad when it's in a "worse location"
Ergonomics are probably the most important thing for a pad.
I'm not OP, btw, but I'm interested in this controller for fighting games.
You are both right. The d-pad is amazing but the location ruins it. I actually prefer the shitty DualShock 4 dpad because of the location

Don't get me wrong, it's in a "worse location" imo, but also not a bad one. It felt way more natural to use than I was expecting.

PS Vita.
The dpad on the new Xbox controller is actually fantastic. PS has a better dpad location, but Xbox now has by far the better dpad.

XSEX d-pad is pure fricking sex, sometimes i'm not even playing anything but i keep pressing it to feel that delicious clickity clack.

The SeX easily, it just feels great
