Kleavor. It's the only engaging first boss that isn't just press A 3 times to win. Brock gets points for starting the formula as well as the SWSH guy for introducing Dynamax and the gen 5 gym leaders for the type matchup gimmick. All the others are forgettable and disposable.
Honestly Viola
Having Water Sport to reduce Fire damage and Infestation for chip damage is the most thoughtful first Gym strategy I can think of.
Roark’s Stealth Rock is good too, but the Rock Gyms are all weak ultimately because you always start with Water/Grass or in this game Fire/Fighting…
Yeah doesn't Chimchar evolve at like level 14 or something? Mach Punch is very easy to get access to and just cleans up his entire team.

Dunno who's the best, the 3 monkey are definitely the worst ones tho...
>3 geodudes in the first 4 gens
ENOUGH.
need... more... watercolored images
sovl overdrive
>Including a one off spinoff like pla in the pic
ruined
PLA is mainline, cope
Where's Orre's?
From a purely game design perspective, either Brock or Cress/Chili/Cilan.
Who is the first gym leader in SV?
>SM
>not Ilima
Gen 5 hate can be overblown but it's by far the worst first gym in the series
Cheren and Roark are the only ones that aren't complete pushovers
