Anybody who says 3 started the series with 3, and then makes moronic mental gymnastics arguments about how it's totally impossible for the majority of a fanbase to get into a franchise with a sequel and not the original.
>Fallout 3 >Final Fantasy 7 >Devil May Cry 3 >Ace Combat 4 >Armored Core 3 >Half-Life 2 >Burnout 3: Takedown
3, it's perfect from start to finish. 2 is good, but it's ruined by the last third of the game which is just high charity. 1 is ok, and good overall, just not as much as 3.
>2 is actually kinda bad outside of story
Literally the best multiplayer maps in the franchise, and by extent the best non-meme multiplayer experience. Halo 2's maps are the most consistently remade across 3, Reach, 4 and 5.
Agree on the more everything part, but Infinite is weird in that the AR and pistol are better than everything except the BR, power weapons and maybe the commando. Half the guns are very good and half the guns suck shit or have no utility to make up for it
3 is the only good one >1 has dreadful repeated maps and just gets old fast >2 was dosghit, the multiplayer was ok though >Reach did nothing new and tried to make the multiplayer into a calladoody sprint and snipe fest
Campaign
2 > ODST > Reach > 3 > Infinite > 4 > CE
ce was great the first quarter then peeters out the rest of the way, with shitty copy and paste level design
MP
Reach > > 4 > 3 > 2 > CE
Infinite
never liked 3's gameplay loop, always felt way too floaty and all of the weapons never had the oomph behind them. I've played MCC both on kb and controller and all of them feel great expect 3. playing halo 3 on keyboard always felt off, i guess the aim assist is completely holds it together and when turned off feels like shit
Infinite is up there because the gameplay is honestly the best but its *almost* there with the content. honestly if given a year it could be the best halo but right now its barely a complete package
when i first played 4 on 360 i didnt really like it that much. not until i played it on pc with a higher frame rate and kbm
halo 4 felt beautiful on keyboard and mouse, out of all the multiplayers i kept playing 4 the most because of how nice and fast paced it was. comp matches was alot of fun. honestly became my favorite
3
2
1 no contest
CE for campaign
3 for multiplayer
2 for story

I want to lick Gaylo 3's armor
2 because as far as I remember it didn't have a horrible flood level like Library and Cortana
definitely had the most fun with 2 and it was even better before the patch that killed rocket launching
1 without a doubt. It has the best legendary mode.
3, 1 feels like it's missing something but is still fun
2 is actually kinda bad outside of story

I was only really considering campaign, 2's MP is pretty good yeah. Just sucks in every halo you're using the magnum/BR 99% of the time
Infinite of all games is the closest to rectifying this. It just needs more literally everything.

Ravager after the buff is crazy good. Two direct bursts to kill.
