XVI is a finished game from the start(unless they decide to go through XIII route and decide to make two more sequels for it I dunno). VIIR won't be finished until 2028.
Literally anything is better than FFXVI, it’s just a 17 hour cutscene with button mashing hallways and QTE boss fights for the rest of the 35 hours of play time. Then a rug pull ending because it was all just a book so none of it even matters.

The 7R wins in every thing except for maybe ending and early game combat, but that's just because 16's early stuff is fantastic.
I actually like FF7R's gameplay, but the problem is it's designed for hard mode so you have to beat the game on normal first to get much out of it.
same with XVI tho you only get hard mode in your second playthrough
