The only reason I may consider GU better is the fact that it is on the Switch, meaning it's basically future-proofed for emulators without having to mess with bottom screen shit and the fact that the camera only moves 8-ways. Even if we're just considering the physical games, 3DS is an ergonomic nightmare.
Inversely, I think that’s the greatest tragedy of 4U. It’s the best game, but the only gen to never get a single screen version, meaning comfy emulation is impossible. I hope we might still get an HD port since Capcom is so port happy.

You can do the hunter arts with button combos on 3ds and GU had support for the circle pad pro.
t. emulated it in 2017 with a fan translation patch on PC just fine
GU solved none of the problems Gen had. It instead just tacked on. More = better morons like GU. In reality 4U and 3U are better than it, but hey as a consolation Ricebreak is essentially Gen and GU except actually good
What weapon has changed the least from FU to 4U? Probably Lance right?
I find it hard to play certain weapons in FU. Even GS is missing all of its follow-up attacks after charged attacks.
I played 3U on WiiU, and World and Rise on PC before jumping back in time to GU on Switch.
Currently working through high rank right now, but GU has *just* the right amount of jank for me. Monsters don't move like they just smoked crack because your character doesn't have all the QoL bonuses like chugging pots while moving and the like. I also like that the skill bloat seems minimal so far, at most I'm running 3 active skills on a set so far. It kinda makes me miss those simpler things in the new games.
I had a feeling I would like GU but it SUCKS ASS. Worldbabby here, Rise was worse than GU, where do I go from here? Emulate older games on PC? Seems like everyone likes FU, 3U, and 4U
Depends on what you dislike about GU.
4U is probably fine for a Worldbab as long as you don't fundamentally dislike how old-style Monster Hunter feels.
GU seemed too close to Rise and didn't feel quite right for what I expected from an "older" MonHun experience. Not really any challenge even though there was more item management involved, and the monsters seemed really slow compared to me.
>anon wants to play more games >asks about games >you already played the wrong game >just have a nice day for wanting to play games that aren't the wrong game
moron logic

4U you pleb

hnnnng...
Tri
I never played GU because generations kinda sucked. Maybe I should've

FU or 3U are peak.
GU is the better game out of 4th gen though.
What weapon has changed the least from FU to 4U? Probably Lance right?

4u for the story and characters
gu for the gameplay and final boss
Capcom I don’t care about the rest but please bring back Ahtal.
3 was peak monhun gameplay. Anyone who unironically puts 4 at “peak” is a zoomer that started with 4. Mhfu2 is better than 4

my favorite jank of GU was the 30 fps lock on switch for a 3ds game. the definitive nintendo experience.
There's a 60fps mod on emulator at least
and also a 120 fps patch and HD texture mod, PC always wins baby
it honestly wouldnt be able to run 60 fps
>3U better than Tri
ignored
Tri is a game with 18 fricking monsters and no G rank
i see that anon all the time, i think he just exists to combat the "tri is worst monhun" schizo
So? If quantity is all that counts then by definition GU is the best.
cahm on even 4u had silky smooth 45 frames
>3U at the top
>tri-the first good MH
>FU-unplayable dogshit
>world/IB better than anything
absolute tribab tendie post
>japwank
how is that a bad thing
4u is the ultimate Mh. The existence of dalamadur and the fact that it doesn't have arts immediately catapults it over gen.
I'm downloading P3rd now because I remembered I should play it
Guessing gameplay's pretty close to 3U?
objectively:
3U > GU > Rise > FU > 4U > > > World
didn't play enough of the rest to include them
My only issue with GU is a lack of Brute Tigrex, my favorite monster to hunt in the whole series.
Monster Hunter won't be peak until Capcom implemets the Gun Sword from Lost Planet 2 as a new weapon class
i love funlance, if it would basically be a gunSnS i'd be all over it
Peak MonHun is Stories.
RIP Hunting Horn P3rd-World
Frick Rise
Rest in PISS
if p3rd had same content as fu it would be the best mh game ever.
I had a feeling I would like GU but it SUCKS ASS. Worldbabby here, Rise was worse than GU, where do I go from here? Emulate older games on PC? Seems like everyone likes FU, 3U, and 4U

Where's your EX Deviant clears
just have a nice day worldsperm, you don't really like monster hunter
>anon wants to play more games

>you already played the wrong game

moron logic
>wrong game
GU plays exactly like FU, 3U and 4U, if he didn't like GU then he won't like the rest of the games, it's as simple as that
anons complaints are here
he should play 4U
>too close to Rise
GU and rise play nothing alike, anon is either moronic or purposefully being disingenuous
GU, World, and Rise are all easy, why not just play an actual older game instead of these crutchfests?
GU is the culmination of all the polish that happened generation to generation from gen 1 to 4. It absolutely does not play "exactly" like FU.
it's FU minus the shitty hitboxes and obnoxious monster AI
4U between those, but 3U and FU are better
Also frick apexes
i just cant get in to GU. i usually dont care about performance, but somehow GU on switch makes me abolutely seethe and roid rage after one hunt
also 4u is best
Right is vastly better than left but it still isn't the peak.
