Rayman.
Bomberman has had a decent amount of games since 2017. There was, of course, Super Bomberman R. Also, Bombergirl, Super Bomberman R Online (rip), some mobile game, and Super Bomberman R2 is coming out soon. I'd say he's been even more active than Mega Man at this point.
In comparison, Rayman hasn't had an entry in nearly 10 years, unless you count the mobile games. And he's simply DLC in the Rabbids game.
There's been plenty of Bomberman games since 9/11.
obviously Rayman. Super Bomberman R 2 is stated to be released near the end of this year so Bomberman's series is still going fairly well. Wish that they would remake Bomberman 64 though
Bomberman isn't dead, dude gets a new game every couple years in fact. Casual party multiplayer games are easy to just churn out every time a new console comes out.
Rayman is giga dead.
>Super Bomberman R2 is coming out later this year >Rayman has yet to have another installment for a decade now
I don’t know OP, the frick do you think?
Not sure about R's online mode shutting down (granted, I haven't played that game online since mid 2018), but the Super Bomberman R Online game (separate game) shut down in December 2022.
>but the Super Bomberman R Online game (separate game) shut down in December 2022.
This was the paid version, correct? And it got it's online shut down BEFORE the release of the next installment.
Super R Online was free-to-play, but there was some $10 pass that let you play as the Konami characters, if you didn't buy that, you were stuck with the Bomberman Bros.
I think you could also buy coins/whatever currency with real money.
The online shut down about half a year after R2's announcement. You can argue that R Online was a beta test for R2 because the battle 64 mode is being brought to R2 as one of the modes.
But I'm not sure if the original R's online is shut down.
No super r and r online are 2 different games, r was a switch release game and r online came after and was released first on stadia and is the one that got shut down.

But both Super R and Online shared the same online game, correct? It's just that Online was strictly online and didn't include the single player game, and both versions, sharing the online, were shutdown?

Not sure if they shared the same servers.
Online is technically a separate game from R. Online started out as a Stadia exclusive in 2020 which got ported to other systems later.
R initially was a Switch exclusive in 2017 and was ported to other systems in 2018.
R had the regular battle mode and grand prix mode, while R Online only had the battle 64 mode, and regular battle mode you had to go to a separate part of the game and you got no experience for that mode.
If they gave a different name for Super Bomberman R Online, not as much people would've been confused.

>Bomberman is technically a living IP but only via the mostly soulless R games and Bombergirl >Rayman has been out of action since the early 10s and his first major appearance since is as the lead role of a DLC for a Mario spinoff featuring Rabbids, which originated from his games anyway
bomberman was literally killed by the 9/11 attacks, I dont see him ever coming back.
Rayman.

so was DK, and that DLC was fricking awesome and basically a stand-alone game.
obviously Rayman. Super Bomberman R 2 is stated to be released near the end of this year so Bomberman's series is still going fairly well. Wish that they would remake Bomberman 64 though
rayman was announced today as sparks of hope DLC
bomberman has been replaced by gacha girls
Do you people even play games? super bomberman r came not that long ago and r2 is coming later this year
>not that long ago
R came out over 6 years ago.
Bomberman isn't dead, dude gets a new game every couple years in fact. Casual party multiplayer games are easy to just churn out every time a new console comes out.
Rayman is giga dead.
>Bomberman is getting a new game this year
>Rayman's corpse was dragged out of the grave to be put into a DLC pack for a game that flopped
I'm going to take a guess here and say that Ray isn't doing so good right now.

Didn't Super R already get its online shut down??

not related but didn't they made a character in the Mario game that's like a mix of a rabbit and a bomb bomb?? seeing both characters reminded me
Nabbit?
nah meant the crossover game with rayman but found her
bomberman isn't a man anymore
Rayman, bomberman still has games about him
Rayman's last game was a decade ago, Bomberman gets one this year.
Rayman got put into Brawlhalla 4 years ago so he's not truly dead yet
I think Rayman should stay dead.
>Bomberman is technically a living IP but only via the mostly soulless R games and Bombergirl

Bomberman games still come out regularly, they are just low effort and no one cares about them.
Bomberman is hooked to a machine
Rayman's disembodied feet were already in the grave.
Rayman isn't technically dead.
It's worse.
His franchise was taken over and possessed by Rabbids like some sort of zombie fungus.
Why wasn't Bomberman put in Smash?
