Far Cry 3 started the whole Ubisoft open world meme, it's the reason why open world in general went downhill.
3 was the only one I played but it was a lot of fun at release.
New Dawn I tried and it ran like complete DOGSHIT on PS4 so I deleted it
I honestly think all of them are mediocre. Yes even 1 and 2. Slop franchise for the lowest common denominator. It popularized the worst strain of open world garbage.
2 is anything but slop. It's a game that places immersion above everything else
5 is the best one, 3 and 4 are solid, Primal is only good if you're really into the ooga booga caveman thing, New Dawn and 6 are slop, sex with Dani

Primal is unironically the best out of those but I don't expect you to play it. It's good because of the limitations it places on you and gaymers don't like limitations.
2 is the best overall
How does Primal play? Its the one I never got around to. I keep seeing it being billed as a Survival game, but I doubt it is one.
3 and 5 were my favourites, but there's a good argument that 4 is at least as good. 6 and ND are complete trash. Never played 1, 2 or Primal.
Don't play more than one in a year. They're basically the same game with slightly different aesthetics. Once you've played one, you've played all of them. Its a good series to just shut off your brain and shoot stuff and clear Ubisoft objectives. None of them are kino games you'll think about or look back on, but they're fun enough while you're playing them.
I think I liked 5's story the most, with 3 being very close, if that matters at all to you.

Exactly how you think, it's Far Cry but with primitive tools and beasts. What makes that game better than the modern ones is Far Cry was always trying to appeal to the hunter in you, going for the hunting fantasy. And Primal drops the pretense and actually feels like a hunting game. It's neat, it comes together in a way that feels much more organic and real than the other ones.

The spear is so satisfying to use. The story and quests are pretty bland, but impaling neanderthals never gets old. It only really feels like a survival game at the very start, when you're constantly picking up sticks and stones. But once you put some points into gathering skills and once you grow your village, getting materials becomes less of an issue.

I like maining throwing bats in 5, I'll take out hundreds of people with 3 bats, just tossing them and catching them out of the air, that's a ton of fun. More games should let you clunk your enemies with baseball bats, it's peak.

none of them, i played 3 recently with 0 zero nostalgia which is considered the peak by many and it was incredibly boring overall, taking outposts was the highlight for me on how many options you can approach

at its worst, it's a laundry list time waster that will have you do the same handful of tasks 90 times each in slightly diffferent locales, while progressively making the gameplay less fun via spongier enemies

3, 4 and 5 don't have enemy scaling. The same troops take the same number of bullets from hour one to the end of the game. There are "tank" enemies that wear armor. Shoot their helmet off and then shoot them in the head, its 2 taps instead of 1. Or you get the perk that lets you stealth kill them.
They're not amazing games. They're Ubislop checklist games. But that can be fun if you're in the mood for it. At less than 10 bucks its a good price for them. Just motor around blowing shit up and killing baddies. I like 5 because the flying is slightly better, but they're all basically the same game.

Far Cry 4 is a more feature complete Far Cry 3, but FC3 has a better first two thirds. Pick one of those.
Either 3 and primal or the last one, all the numbered ones since 3 and new woke are the same games anyway.
But blood dragon is the best and 2 is based.

Don't buy it though. It comes with ubisoft bloatware/malware.

Sheit series, but 1 and 2 had interesting ideas.

Far Cry 3 is where everything bega. It's a solid game with outdated graphics and collectible madness around the map.
Far Cry 4 has a good villain but the gameplay is just 3+, and the region is pretty boring.
Far Cry 5 is considered one of the best games in the franchise. It's comfy, it has a lot of new mechanics and is where Far Cry turned good again.
New Dawn is an attempt at making 5 a looter shooter, it's not bad but it's very repetitive and the map is just 5's but overgrown.
Far Cry 6 is a mix of both, while the map is great and the weapons are nice, Male Dani is a charisma blackhole and Female Dani is too cute for anything.
The ammo system is moronic and there's a billion different weapons to grind all gated behind the endgame bullshit rotation and mtx currencies (that you can earn by playing the game).
The story is also pretty bad, Castillo is awfully underused and most of your allies are stupid degenerates.
There are mods to turn you into a Castillo double agent, but they're lacking and clash with the story.)
5 and 6 are the best gameplay-wise, but if you have played 5 you're going to hate 6 really hard.
Pick one of the old school FC format (3, 4, Primal) and one of the new generation FC (5. ND, 6).

FC2 is the only good FarCry game. Play it on Infamous with the music turned off and don’t savescum like a b***h, there hasn’t been another game like it.
Of those pictured, they’re all slop. Primal can maybe be considered a decent game but it’s not as good or immersive as FC2 so it ends up coming off fricking mid as a result.
