BG3 is still essentially early access, they've polished act 1 to a mirror sheen, and act 2/3 pretty much fall off a cliff in terms of quality and content variety. The 1.0 tag is just because they were desperate to market a "full launch" After it's abysmal multi-year long early access.
Starfield is looking like even more bethesda sloppa, but as with all bethesda games, it will be decent in a year or three when all the expacks drop and mods starts showing up that modify the shit parts.

Fallout 4 never became decent unless you're not comparing it to every other bethesda game released up to that point.
Not that guy and I didn't like f4 at all, I remember pre-ordering it like a fricking moron and then getting completely bored around the time I reached the institute, didn't even bother finishing it.
But I thought the consensus is that it has great expansions that are worth a playthrough(far Harbour iirc?), so I bought the GOTY edition from one of the steam sales for like 10-15 euros with the intention of giving it a second try. Should I not bother at all?

Depends on if you're content with not liking everything you already didn't like then having a new area that is reminiscent of FO3 before going right back to the things you didn't like.
I did the same thing you did & I played up until I beat far harbor & couldn't go any further so I never played nuka world because it's a shoot em up theme park like the rest of the game but apparently better. Problem for me on that front is I find the super smooth shooting & movement extremely boring. As much as people give the older games shit for the aiming being off & the bullet spread those things combined with weapon durability, jamming & there being a slew of guns that all felt different instead of the same 5 guns with 100 different skins made the moment to moment gameplay interesting for me. Far harbor makes the rest of the game stand out that much more as utterly shit & devoid of what made the earlier games interesting to me.
If I were to play the game again I'd use the console to level up my character a fair amount & quest progress to finding valentine to only play far harbor & stop afterwards but that's me. Depending on your tolerance for the game in general you could do a lot more than I would.
Oh and the robot DLC is decent, been a while since I played so I forgot about that. It's like a moderate sized quest in the older games & actually makes the world a little bit more interesting since crazy robots show up all over the map & are hostile to everyone which gives it a more FO3 chaotic feeling.
But yeah when you get to the institute is when the wheels really fall off the game, you not only didn't miss much but you avoided the worst writing in the entire game its so comically bad it's insulting.
If you want autistic simulation and reasonably hardcore survival, the Horizon mod is A+ and completely revamps the game to be much better imo. Although I wouldn't recommend it without some familiarity with the vanilla game. And if you hate the settlement shit then don't bother.

Completely rushed and even though it is bloated with content it has no direction because they are trying to tie up all of the loose ends.
It all leads to one of the worst unfinished endings i have seen in an rpg since ME3
Never said anything about Act 3, but it seems like these people are parroting things they've heard and lumping Act 2 into 3 when it's just as good as 1 (at least in my opinion). Because I guess it fits a narrative better to say that only the Early Access part of the game is good, rather than the first 60-70% or whatever.

Baldur's Gate if you simply must buy AAA. assuming people actually want to play and mod Starfield, it would be best to pick it up in a year or two for 15 bucks all dlc, most all bugs patched and fun mods released. playing a Bethesda game early is pain.
