Andromeda was at least playable after the patches. We've yet to see if the same will hold true for Starfield, but I doubt it due to the fundamental problems it has.

Biggest problem is lack of POI I think, also main story is barely functional as a story, again. Loding screen I can live with, except Neon that whole are was terribly built.

they didnt even try to fix, they just abandoned and killed the studio that made it, bethesda owe preorders a dlc so they have a chance to fix

My opinion is that Andromeda was fine as a game, it's just Mass Effect with the Dragon Age:Inquisiton/MMO formula.
The sci-fi setting makes suspension of disbelief harder because you don't have a pre-existing attachment to technology or the creatures or the environments and so on
Starfield is hardly even worse than Fallout 4 it just has a shit main quest and people who don't play video games believe the rest of it is as bad

Honestly, a shooter by bethesda with no gore is pretty cringe. Even if it's not likeleak like, having that as a form of spectacle from Fallout 3-47 as shooters at least made it comical at times and made me have a sense of empowerment.

Crack theory: they avoided adding it for either space (doubt because bethesda has been frick all about optimization over selling a better version) OR it's to cater to a possible Chinese market without having to put that in and take it out for their sensibilities.
But I also don't know how well Thesda games do there, so that's very much a crack theory. Still even 76 had it and that game is still not very good.

'pretty' models and environments at the cost of doing anything on them or in general. Starfield is ALL style and no substance, and the style is just NASA core with mild futuristic stuff. Why they couldn't reuse gibs or just redo how they worked in 4/76 is beyond me.
It was enjoyable til the fricking temple maxing, when running back and forth with loading screens become unbearable. And i couldn't force myself to play NG+ more than couple hours.
I didn't even get to temple maxing, got to 160 hours while I was trying to find a good quest line and then gave up. No good quest, no well-written characters or (even worse) companions. No real decision that matter because the whole point of the game is "nothing matters lule". No real endgame, same enemies since lvl 1 to lvl 100. No real weapons, it's like 7 different ones and that's it. Melee is a joke and boring as frick (they didn't even bother to make a lore related reasons for melee to be viable in space, like Dune or something). No minimap (don't tell me about Morrowind, in that game you can at least see where everything is without 60 visual clutter particles over your face at all times). No faster movement (at least give me a fricking space horse, cmon, ANYTHING). No ship travelling, no ship utility outside of space, this shit was in No Man's Sky for years now.
Its just a disaster over all, and I don't even have to mention how they just drop in the fricking settlement building with no reason what so ever.

its crazy that the last time i dealt with that was insane loading screens on dragon age inquisition and that was because it was bugged to shit where i had to jump off of platforms to barely hit the trigger for a cutscene for the final boss

Andromeda was a total disaster at launch, awful graphics, distorted faces, bugs out of the ass, and the writing was so dogshit and constantly getting things wrong that I wondered if any of writers had actually played the Mass effect trilogy before working on Andromeda.
Starfield is just boring, if Bethesda added something like a type of vehicle and far more POI's, maybe some extra companions that are actually morally grey or evil, that might make the game salvageable. The only thing that could have saved Andromeda was a total remaking of the game.

I enjoyed my play through of Andromeda.
Had its issues but combat was fun in a janky couple of generation back kind of way.
Never played Andromeda so I don’t have an opinion on it. The memes surrounding it were funny though.

I 100% Andromeda (a long time after launch), and it was alright; would have been a decent game in its own right if they didn't whack the Mass Effect skin on it. Combat is unironically the best of the series.

Just finished Anromeda. It is better written than starfield, prettier than starfield( character animations excepted both are trash) and combat is way way way more fun than starfield.
Starfield got ship building going for it, rest is 5/10.
Andromeda is solid 7/10, people overeacted back then due to how not mass effect it is.
If patches brought Andromeda up to being a 7/10 then they must have worked miracles post-launch.

The story sucks, but its marginally better than Starfield's. More than half of the characters were shit, which is better than Starfield. And the gameplay is night and day.
The faces were ugly, but I play older games where the mouths dont even move or its just one single blurry face plastered on an npc with no way to show emotion. Some games dont even have that. That shitty animation fo those two krogan still makes me chuckle.
But they did improve on the cutscenes, some of the dialogue lines, less glitches, smoothed out the balancing, and less prone to crash. It's a fun game. I enjoyed my time with it and will probably play it again in the future with some mods to spice things up a bit.

Starfield was fun for the first three days and I didn't actually encounter a single bug in the week or so that I played it. The game is just boring and soulless.
Andromeda on the other hand is laughably bad, never fun at any point, and full of glitches that would make an Obsidian game blush.

I haven’t played Mass Effect, but I do know that 3 was hated, and Andromeda was even worse. Though I think Starfield was worse since it looks like it’s making Xbox go third party after they thought it would be their killer app. I even saw fricking Starfield Doritos in the supermarket that no one bought.
