house is effectively immortal, had firsthand knowledge of how pre-war technology and society functioned. he doesnt have physical needs, which is the root of human greed. all he has left is his ego, theres nothing he stands to gain from taxing freeside hobos. everything he does is for the betterment of mankind as a whole, he just happens to be the one in charge

The only reason I often struggle between House and NCR is that there are people in the NCR and in the game that are genuinely striving to make things better for the greater good. It's just that the higher ups and those in charge are so corrupted with greed at this point that it taints the whole system. Meanwhile, House would turn a blind eye to suffering unless it impedes progress.

In the end though, the locals of the Mojave have managed to survive and thrive and become self sufficient and free despite the neglect of House (like the people of Westside/North Vegas/Freeside) so I lean more to House almost every time.

A temporary alliance made using systemic vulnerabilities so as to gain bargaining power in his negociations with the ncr, their "alliance" is a farce. They'll become his puppet through economic superiority. If they act against him, he'll just double down with draconian laws in the name of progress while ignoring the causes for degeneracy, addictions, and gambling tendencies. Don't like what he's doing? There is no good option for New Vegas, the NCR is quickly becoming another version of the Enclave, the Legion is going to enslave half the population, and Yes Man gets everyone killed eventually. House is ultimately the best ending for the wasteland. caesar's legion is fricked the second captain salad dies, the NCR is already bankrupting itself in an attempt to even win the region let alone manage to keep it afterwards, and yes man is just total anarchy. house may be a reclusive butthole but his goals are within reason and has no reason to overstep like the NCR and once he gets his plans going he can basically just automate the region to be eternally self-sufficient in the event he even could die. I don't think he's a good person but compared to the others he's basically the only one that isn't inherently doomed to fail.

I think they did it make him slightly more relatable. If he was just an invincible killing machine he'd be even less likeable.

There was surprisingly less BMWF propaganda than I expected too, overall I give the show 7/10 because there was a bit too much fan service and shoe horning but they definitely nailed the dark and gruesome Fallout humor.

Hoping we get to see a Fatman or a Gobi in season 2.
