whats the point in living if you arent working for a better tomorrow >yes man
anarchy, which exists anywhere outside new vegas >ncr
rebooting the same system that lead to a global holocaust >caesar
without caesar, its just well organized/trained raiders.
house is effectively immortal, had firsthand knowledge of how pre-war technology and society functioned. he doesnt have physical needs, which is the root of human greed. all he has left is his ego, theres nothing he stands to gain from taxing freeside hobos. everything he does is for the betterment of mankind as a whole, he just happens to be the one in charge
The only reason I often struggle between House and NCR is that there are people in the NCR and in the game that are genuinely striving to make things better for the greater good. It's just that the higher ups and those in charge are so corrupted with greed at this point that it taints the whole system. Meanwhile, House would turn a blind eye to suffering unless it impedes progress.
In the end though, the locals of the Mojave have managed to survive and thrive and become self sufficient and free despite the neglect of House (like the people of Westside/North Vegas/Freeside) so I lean more to House almost every time.
The only side he provides "progress" to is himself. He's the kind of guy to worsen his people's living conditions, get them addicted to degeneracy then profit off of it to thrive. Not the kind of place i'd like for the future of vegas.
>The only side he provides "progress" to is himself
He literally improves the life of the main character by saving it >worsen people’s living conditions
Verifiably false given the three tribes who he helped to elevate to lives of luxury
>Verifiably false given the three tribes who he helped to elevate to lives of luxury
A temporary alliance made using systemic vulnerabilities so as to gain bargaining power in his negociations with the ncr, their "alliance" is a farce. They'll become his puppet through economic superiority. If they act against him, he'll just double down with draconian laws in the name of progress while ignoring the causes for degeneracy, addictions, and gambling tendencies. Don't like what he's doing? Time to deal with robco services!
>temporary alliance
Literally says that his long term plan is to milk the paypig ncr for all they’re worth in order to finance technological progress >degeneracy

What. The. Frick? What % of Americans are LGBT?
>Studies from several nations, including the U.S., conducted at varying time periods, have produced a statistical range of 1.2[6] to 6.8[7] percent of the adult population identifying as LGBT
He said what percentage of LGBT not trans moron try and not be obsessed with trannies and their dicks for once
Yes, that was my estimate. Why are you bringing up trans and penises for no reason, shitbird. Also, imagine believing the 'studies' >6.8% of the adult population identifying as LGBT
lol
none? im going to maybe get to benny and frick off to do all the DLCs in whatever order i want and get back to the mohave thinking about making a new character then take a break for 2-3 years and come back thinking about cowgirls in bikinis and do the same shit all over again and once my level 45 cowgirl with 5k rounds walks out of OWB because i did it last im going to make a character based around another weapon fricking around some more ignoring the main story quest because i want lasers in bikinis
I love the juxtaposition of men just apolitically wanting to hang out with some dude and this terminally online leftoid seeing nothing but drawn battle lines.
Evil Karma NCR >Follow every direction a NCR characters gives me to the letter >Never compromise to benefit both sides, must benefit the NCR 100% >Execute anyone that poses even a slight inconvenience to the NCR >YOU WILL PAY TAXES >YOU WILL BECOME A NCR CITIZEN >YOU WILL BE HAPPY
With any luck they'll just have him be in space somewhere so they can't desecrate his character. Seems like they really want to avoid making any game ending, "canon," so they'll just find a way to not include anyone significant.
I'm replaying this game now, but I never played any of the DLC's back in the day, which should I play. Seems like Honest Hearts is the most necessary due to Graham. OWB is incredibly divisive and Lonesome Road seems like it gives the Courier some backstory, but is just an endgame gauntlet with not much to it. I don't even fricking remember what the 4th was called.
The need for mods comes in the moment. I wanted a character that was basically a patchwork makeshift whatthe frick ever.
a mod to repair metal armor with scrap metal + misc metals
a mod to increase the yield of junk rounds. 1 round for 1 scrap, 2 tin cans and the casing is shit. 5-20 rounds for 1-2 scrap and 1-2 tin cans? frickyeah
altering pew-pews ammo cap and shot per round makes it worth it
downloading factionless armor/crafting for different ideas
the list can go on
House is an butthole but he's the best of the 4 >yes man will lead to chaos and inevitably get fricked up by a larger faction, unless the courier can run a civilization >Caesar is a nutcase >ncr is run by corrupt shitheads who don't know what they're doing
With, you at least have a chance. Yeah, he does a lot of stupid stuff, but he made Vegas a liveable place. Given enough time and resources, he could probably make the situation a lot better. The Elon Musk comparison is dumb because Elon is a dumbass with a cult of personality while House objectively knows what's he doing.
>He made Vegas a liveable place
Freeside isn't liveable and the entire Strip is a barely post tribal fiefdom and scam he runs in order to acquire more wealth and control.
There is no good option for New Vegas, the NCR is quickly becoming another version of the Enclave, the Legion is going to enslave half the population, and Yes Man gets everyone killed eventually. It's more interesting trying to justify each horrible outcome instead of pretend like any faction is good.
the legion implodes when caesar dies. the game constantly points out how the ncr is massively overextended. there's no canon indication that houses equipment has issues, which has been working for 200+ years at that point. house is still the best long term option of the 4
>what happens after he dies >Implying he can die.
Mine must be ghoulified to the balls after shooting so many mini nukes at close range.
And then the rest of his body is artificial goodies from the Big MT. He will rule Vegas and the Mojave as an immortal Machine-Ghoul-God Tyrant.
probably not, for the same reason you can't put house back in the machine if you open it and get cold feet

considering the tech they'd have after big mountain they could very well just become outright immortal. the courier is so much of a broken element if you think about all the shit they'd have access to if you went for everything in the game that the yes man ending could never be canon because it would basically establish the courier as an actual god
Independent vegas leading to chaos or beaten by another faction has no basis in fact. An independent vegas is is as good a position as it would be ruled by any other faction, potentially even better off in some ways.
It's not my favourite ending, but the negativity towards it makes no sense.
>10 str >ever
even the new weapons that need 10 str you can start with 9 and implant up. even shave off a few because of power armor, alcohol or someshit man
House is ultimately the best ending for the wasteland. caesar's legion is fricked the second captain salad dies, the NCR is already bankrupting itself in an attempt to even win the region let alone manage to keep it afterwards, and yes man is just total anarchy. house may be a reclusive butthole but his goals are within reason and has no reason to overstep like the NCR and once he gets his plans going he can basically just automate the region to be eternally self-sufficient in the event he even could die. I don't think he's a good person but compared to the others he's basically the only one that isn't inherently doomed to fail.
NCR only has a slight economic drain because people spend their salaries in a placd the NCR can't tax. They aren't bankrupting themselves with the occupation If the NCR takes Vegas they have a massive boost in Resources and taxable income
Best ending for the courier is NCR because it also gives him access as a wealthy, famous hero to their entire civilisation. Would you rather be the chief of an African village, or a millionaire in the West?
>Yes Man >is just House except House is dead now and the Brotherhood might survive >(you) never come up with any plans of your own >will probably ruin Vegas the moment Yes Man stops telling you exactly what needs to be done
I do not trust my character. My brain is tesla coils.
All he does is read House's plans for the near future and cope hard if you decide to not follow them. If there are no plans left he will probably be useless since he will just OK everything the Courier says.
Then it depends on who the Courier is. Best case scenario he/she is a Jack Reacher style wanderer who's been all over the west coast and seen and done all kinds of crazy shit. His antics over the course of New Vegas grant him the reputation, authority, and technology to be a fair and insightful leader.
Am I the only one who obliterates all of them? I killed House, destroyed the legion, and betrayed the NCR killing everyone at the dam. I kill every robot I come across too, robots cannot be trusted ever.
I am reviled for my acts of cruelty, I did my first playthrough the typical way by picking a side. Second time I just committed 100% to being a chronic bastard and murdered everyone.
so i just started watching the fallout show, i already knew about the NCR lore shit going in

is that considered canon now?
not like raul or dean domino were getting regular supplies of that shit but they're 200 year old ghouls who haven't gone "feral" (concept which originates from 3 misinterpreting) so no i wouldn't say it's canon without retcons
but why retcon something like that just to do old-yeller type scenes where the message is "Sometimes it's okay to kill subhumans :)"
I think they did it make him slightly more relatable. If he was just an invincible killing machine he'd be even less likeable.
There was surprisingly less BMWF propaganda than I expected too, overall I give the show 7/10 because there was a bit too much fan service and shoe horning but they definitely nailed the dark and gruesome Fallout humor.
Hoping we get to see a Fatman or a Gobi in season 2.

There's literally zero evidence supporting this
assume the courier is the perfect ruler for independent vegas. what happens after he dies
Certainly isn't his problem anymore
dumb mindset
What happens when Ceasar or the duly elected senator of new vegas dies?
This one's a bit on the thin side, but what happens if House's machine can't keep him alive anymore?
Even the greatest leaders die eventually, its not an argument.
