Xbox for dual-stick use in 3d games and dualsense for platformers with a dpad. I am using xbox1 and DualShock4 this way for a few years, taking the best from both of them.
Elite Series 2 is the best controller I've ever used by a good margin, but it's overpriced. To be fair, I haven't compared it to a SCUF. But if cost is less of a concern and especially if you'll use it on a PC then that's what I would get.
I'd choose the Elite 2 because of compatibility on PC. But besides worrying about reliability (I'm still lucky with mine) I wish the face buttons were squishy. Like Nintendo Pro gamepad.
I'd actually choose the Nintendo pad over both Elite 2 and Sony's if it had full native compatibility on PC.
And I agree Elite 2 at least is overpriced. I don't know what justified the price. Building materials and internals aren't better than the standard controller.
Battery longevity is crazy long though. It should be Xbox standard controller at standard price.
Elite Series, easily.
Dualsense Edge honestly feels the normal Dualsense. Series at least feels like a new controller.
Do any of you have problems with the facebuttons (especially A) not recognising inputs when pressed at certain angles? Read that a lot online
Oh, you know what's funny? I hadn't noticed at first. Never had issues while playing. I just noticed it because I read it on internet and my confirmation bias... confirmed it lol Depending on the angle or how soft you press the button sometimes might not register.
I did not have any problems with this, but I'm pretty deliberate when I'm pressing buttons and don't play many fighting games or anything that would require that type of input. My experience with that controller was mostly playing FPS and racing games.

Dpad and facebuttons feel a bit softer than DS4 I think, which you might like or not like. Personally I'd like more snappier ones.
Otherwise it's improvement all around in my opinion
I don't really care for the Dualsense. I'm torn because I love how it feels, but after an hour or so my forearms and wrists were getting noticeably uncomfortable. Don't know if it's the shape or what but I've never experienced that with a controller sbd I've used a ton of them. Went back to the DS4 for all my PC gaymen needs. Xbox core controller is good too but I have my reservations about the circular Dpad
Buttons are quieter, hand feel is better.
The DualSense is without a doubt the quietest gamepad on the market.
Xgay controller is loud as frick, specially the d-pad.
The dualshock has its perks but having the left stick at the bottom just ruins it for me, why would you give any priority to the d-pad when the console is nothing but 3D games? The reason modern controllers usually put the stick at the same level as the face buttons is because most modern games use the stick much more than the d-pad so your thumb will naturally rest on top of the buttons you're using the most, by putting the left stick level with the right stick it created a situation in which your hands will not be symmetrcal most of the time and your left thumb will be placed at an unnatural angle, which can cause or complicate carpal tunnel.
Can the Xbox controller fix the fricking buttons not registering, how hard is it to fricking fix. Just copy what PlayStation does with the buttons or whatever holy frick. Fricking annoying when you press the button and it acts like you didn't cause you didn't press it at 90 degrees
Some anon posted that the new Series controllers eventually got redesigned face button contacts, but I haven't found proof of it anywhere or anyone mentioning it anywhere else on the internet other than one Korean blog.
So not the original series controllers but a revision of them? Cause I have the controller that came with the series x when it first launched and it has the same problem
Yeah, a newer revision. I think it's got the same model number (1914) so you can't tell from outside, but apparently around the time of the transparent Forza controller they might've changed the circuitry for the face buttons so they actually overlap. But I don't know if it was a limited run thing or just a different supplier who accidentally designed them correctly (read: not to MS spec) and I haven't found a recent video of anyone cracking open a new Series controller to find out, nor am I buying one to check.
I've looked up recent (within the last year) teardown videos of the pads and all of them still have the old, non-interlocking contacts, unfortunately. So I have reason to believe it was a one-off thing from a different subcontractor and all the normal Core controllers have the same face button problems as in the past as well as the Xbone pads.
Do you want to pay 120 for a functioning controller that won't give you tendinitis or a 200 controller that slightly addresses the issues of the original but now you get to pay for replacement sticks? I still just use DS4.

No, you're just a stupid useless Black person.
I've only ever had a PC for games.
Best controller for PC is the DS(5).
The only reason people recommend xbox controllers is because they're too brown(stupid) to know how to manually install drivers.
Damn its tough to pick but My ALL TIME favorite controller is gonna have to be the UNSC that came out during Halo 4. Love the decal, translucent blue body and the blue LEDs. Very close behind it tho is the Death Stranding controller I got with the console and the Halo ODST verrsion.

speaking of Halo controllers >going for the full Halo controller collection >finally getting to the end >need the Halo Infinite controller >find one on ebay for a good price >so happy im almost done >looking at it one day when my gut drops after noticing
Lets see if you guys can see the issue. I was so fricking bummed out.
Yup the shell is swapped onto a regular SeX controller. I didnt see it at the time cause I was too excited that I finally found that controller for a "good" price. Heres how its supposed to look.

What a shame. I hate it when sellers do that, outside the removed gold pieces I do like the colored buttons added back but it's for the sake of authenticity. I remember wanting that halo edition series x so badly but I held it off as it's a big purchase and wanted to upgrade my PC instead for Infinite when it comes out. Glad I made the other move, as much as I really like that Series X edition.

I did “swap my shell” in your mom’s SeX controller once.
It’s where your sister came from… I’m going to swap my shell in her too.
>moving to a new place >packing up my 360 back in it's box >there's a second Reach controller in there
I completely forgot the console came with two of them
Gyro on console. Sure. Bu gyro on PC(main platform that gets brought up in these threads) is fricking braindead and pointless. and inb4 "that" gets posted.
>Gyro on pc is pointless
It's the platform that you can actually enable it in games, and probably the best use case for it since you aren't dealing with a massive handicap on your aim
why the frick would I want to use something thats trying to emulate mouse movement and precision when I can just use the mouse? Gyro on PC is pointless.
Using a mouse and keyboard all the way across the room on a couch sucks >Emulate mouse precision
While you're technically right in that it spits mouse input into games, it's not "emulating a mouse" it's just a different mode of input.
A thumbstick isn't "emulating" a dpad.
Because it's fun? After playing so many shooters with mouse its not challenging anymore. With gyro you have all benefits of a controller and precise camera movement as well.
I would be more willing to respect your opinion if you simply said that using a controller is pointless. If you are willing to accept that there are games that benefit from a controller, then those games are going to benefit from gyro. Trying to use a controller and mouse are the same time is just uncomfortable and a terrible idea.
>I would be more willing to respect your opinion if you simply said that using a controller is pointless
Youre right. I shouldve said that using a controller is pointless but I was only being courteous as to not get the gyro autists started on their shitfits.
I am always back and forth between these two for PC gaming, I often find myself going back to the Dualsense. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. I will say Xbox is loud af tho.
>8 Bitdo ultimate has sticky RT >Had stick drift on Switch Pro controller >Xbox Elite 2 had double RT out of the box which is common problem
I really thought 8bitdo ultimate was my final controller. What a shame
honestly Xbox, with steam both are good options, but you're not getting anything more out of the Dualsense unless you're playing PS5 ports, games with specific support for it or you're using mods for the 50 or so games that has it
Lower latency
Better sticks
Better face button
It's objectively a better controller by every metric.
The only thing the xbone elites have are back buttons.
I can go on any other website or platform and people universally agree the xbox controller is just better, but I come over here to Ganker and people are ready to kill anyone who believes that. Really makes me click my sticks.
Well the answer is simple, Ganker is autistic about their choice of controller for their need- not saying that in a bad way cause the xbox controller isn't perfect.
Its only a few anons that are super loud and anti-xbox controller. Hasnt always been like this tho. Its only been happening ever since the gyro poster arrived.
Don't be surprised. Most of the entire internet is south americans, europeans, and various 3rd worlders who grew up only being able to play Playstation controllers. Ganker is basically the only safespace from these homosexuals
I wish the xbox didnt have dogshit quality in terms of vibration motors and buttons sticking, i love how the starfield one looks but no way I’m spending money on it
Both the Xbox and PlayStation controllers are made in the same factories using the same parts. Quality control is all over the place for both of them. You could buy 100 different controllers and use them all exactly the same and each of them will eventually shit out in a different way at a different time. My first PS5 controller lasted 2 months and had to send it in because I wasn't buying a new one. The one I got back lasted 1 month before I had to send it in. The third one I got back has been going strong for over a year.
Unfortunately Nintendo isn’t that much different, their tears of the kingdom pro controller had stick drift out of the box for a bunch or people, including me, but my xenoblade 2 controller is absolutely perfect for years now
You’re missing out. It’s a nice controller in hand.

Aren't they both overpriced af and won't last any longer than regular controllers
like dropped inputs, false diagonals, false directionals, delayed inputs and ghost inputs? Xbox.
Want a functional controller?
PS5.
Xbox
You won't need 3rd party software to run it on Windows.
never give money to snoy
Unless you want to play PS5 ports on the PC they’re pretty much identical.
dualsense has gyro and some other extra shit which is nice and i personally like the joystick placement better, but that's personal preference
Xbox for dual-stick use in 3d games and dualsense for platformers with a dpad. I am using xbox1 and DualShock4 this way for a few years, taking the best from both of them.

Pro controllers are dumb
But if you're paying for the fricking PREMIUM and you buy the controller without Gyro you're mentally moronic.
>paying more just to still get stick drift
What do you think?
The one designed for human hands
hello underage
Your right hand must be in a bad shape then.
Then so must your left
What's so different about your hands? Is your body asymmetrical?
No my body is symmetrical. The inputs to controllers aren't symmetrical though so I prefer better options.
Nice jeans, homosexual.

How does Dualshock 5 compare to Dualshock 4?
The Gyro's nicer and it has a built in microphone if you care about that.

Dpad and facebuttons feel a bit softer than DS4 I think, which you might like or not like. Personally I'd like more snappier ones.

Nah controller is more comfy. I'm playing a game, not typing a thesis. You know?
I hate AA batteries which is why I want to buy an Xbox Elite
>I hate AA batteries
Why?
>No, you can't have a controller with symmetrical joysticks. That's unnatural and not the way how god intended to use our hands.
What's the point of a visually symmetric controller. Doesn't the actual function matter more than cosmetics?
I don't know how sony did it, but they somehow made the PS5 controller worse than the PS4 controller. get the elite.
I dont even have a switch, but it feels pretty good while gaming. think the xbox feels slightly better tho.
Used mine yesterday after it being put away in storage for months and I forgot how good it feels. Went back to using the Zen Pro tho.
If you plan to play any game with aiming the one with gyro is better
Should I buy a spare DS4 in case my current one gives out, or will it still be available in several years?
Always buy spare controllers
what a moronic consumeristic view
Fine in the future enjoy paying current or inflated prices for that certain controller that you want.
Neither. Gaming is dead.
I think the dualsense lets you swap the sticks so you aren't out $200 when they inevitably drift.
>Buying an ELLITE controller that's worse than a single joycon
the sticks on the elite 2 feel amazing. wish the ds controllers felt that good.
Somehow Xbox made a decent dpad this time while Sony fricked up, so SeX.
Do you give a shit about gyro? You have your answer.
both suck balls
Dual Sense's track pad can be programed. I got it set up to take screen shots on presses and Alt+tab on swipe. Never going back to Xbone controller.
I am always back and forth between these two for PC gaming, I often find myself going back to the Dualsense. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. I will say Xbox is loud af tho.
my dualshock 4's right stick is drifting really hard, what can I do to fix it?
