Which one should I play, Origins or Odyssey?
Haven't played AC since AC:3 and only a little bit of unity.

don’t bother with ubisoft it’s the same game
neither
play black flag or dont play any
both are equally shit
If you had to choose one, origins. Odyssey is fun too imo of you like that sort of grindy gameplay.
Origins since it's the least ARPG-ish one and bayek is coal
Origins. The weapon leveling based on personal level and gold made the game manageable with over the top DLC weapons that inflicted AOE status effects.
Far more care went into developing Origins. Also Origins didn't stop halfway through to sell a massive DLC campaign.
I'd say pick the one whose mythology interests you the most. AC has been focusing on that a bit more with this RPG trilogy.
>I'd say pick the one whose mythology interests you the most.
That's the core of the issue right here.
If you enjoy the AC gameplay loop it doesn't matter because you will have fun with any entry.
If you don't enjoy the AC gameplay then it also doesn't matter because you won't have fun with any of them.
So just go for the scenario you like most
both are shit, origins is less shit but Black folk
they're almost the same thing, depends on which historical period you like the most. odyssey has some extra quality of life improvements such that you can quickly advance dialogue more consistently, but also some bad things like a worse inventory management so...
Can definitely recommend Origins; currently playing it and just met Cleopatra, having a blast so far with minimal time spent grinding XP. As another Anon mentioned, there's some DLC weapons that, providing you keep them upgraded, will chew through baddies with ease. Played a few hours of Odyssey and it's not gripped me the same way so far and kind of drags in places
I have to admit I am disappointed noone did anything with Cleopatra's model. She looks great
If you want a historical world, actually exploring ancient cities, monuments and to have a decent (enough) story reason to go place to place, then play Origins.
If you just want to dick around doing radiant quests while you listen to podcasts, then Odyssey
So Odyssey is really that much worse when it comes to progression and such? I'm playing Origins right now and it's pretty decent. Would be sad if the next game is a step down.
Also you can choose male or female in Odyssey right? Which is better? I don't really have a preference.
It's like male Shep or female Shep in Mass Effect. Both have their moments good or bad, doesn't really matter.
Only difference to Mass Effect is that Odyssey has a couple of missions that flat out shouldn't let you do as a woman and one or two with the same for being a man.
they're all sightseeing games with a terribly trite garbge gameloop
If you put a gun to my head, Origins. That said you played AC3 last, if you liked the boat parts of that game I recommend Black Flag followed by Rogue, if not don't bother. Look up any setting/time period the game has and play it if it interests you. The modern day story don't mean jack past AC3 so it doesn't matter what order you play. As someone who has played every Ass shit game until Odyssey, don't, it's all shit.
>playing ubishit
Origins if you want a bit more care and thought in a game
Odyssey if you are into copy&paste bandit camps and one of the most bloated games in history
Odyssey is incomparably better, Origins is janky and boring as frick.
