Practically every single pre-fifth gen game with a few exceptions(Sonic Spinball for the Genesis was written in C for instance).
Either for legacy or moron startups who want to do it their way in their own language and make it 10x harder to hire for in the future
Any sane engineer these days would choose some disgusting JS mutation over PHP.

Python.
Unironically the worst highly used language in existence.
It's fricking horrible.
>what is php
PHP hasn't been relevant in like 10 years
It is a legacy language and no-one uses it outside of maintaining legacy
>PHP hasn't been relevant in like 10 years
youd think so but no.
php is still actively developed and used.

No; that would be C++ -- a language so bad, even its authors shamefully admitted that it's an unmanagable clusterfrick that spun out of control.
C++ has close to unrivalled performance at least.
Templates are a fricking trainwreck but it's nowhere near as bad as python
the one best suited for the job.

C with x86 assembly titbits.
ANSI C
Lisp.
what games were made in Lisp besides Jak?
C# is probably the best all-rounder at this point.
Any of them.
C#
C++ was the first language I ever used and for that alone I'll always like it.
