unova
unova might be my favourite generation, but i can't help but adore everything about johto aesthetically
anything other than johto is incorrect
Hoenn, easily.
>All that glorious sprawling nature
>All those hidden bases
>Insane puzzle shit with Braille and the mirage island
It was pure adventure Kino and had enough rolling tall grass and deep ocean paths to make me feel a way no other game has come close to. Johto is second place, but it's 80% music doing the lifting for those games.
too bad it looks like shit and half of it is water
>it looks like shit
it doesn't
>half of it is water
vastly overstated, most of the water routes are optional to the story and only open up in the very last portion of the game & postgame. there's plenty of land and the land routes are easily among the best designed in the series
>Pokemon finally goes 3D, openworld and easy online play
>No more fricking hidden bases
What a dropped ball. You even get a fricking dorm room you can't design or have friends come visit. All the npcs have shit in their rooms indicative of their personality but you get nothing.
Either Johto or Hoenn
Johto gives me peace.
Johto
>kanto
bland
>johto
see above
>hoenn
based
>sinnoh
overrated
>unova
forgettable, but not too bad
>kalos
very nice
>alola
>galar
never been there
>paldea
good, ok
Unova is number 1 since I love big industrial cities. Johto is the 2nd one cause the traditional vibe is comfy. Number 3 would be sinnoh since I am a fan of the mountainous cool environment it has
Sinnoh has Canalave so Sinnoh
I'm biased, but I'd say Hoenn. It's just so comfy and it has varied environments without being jarring transitions. The map is very well put together.
I also really enjoy Paldea. The low key cities seemed realistic and enjoyable. I really hated that every city in Galar was a an amusement park with a frick huge stadium.
it's a tough 3 way race between hoenn, sinnoh, and alola, but i think hoenn just barely beats the other two because it has route 113 and meteor falls.
johto is really cool too.
i love hoooooeeeennn seeeeeeeenooooooooh and aloooooola tee bee ech
Aesthetic is such a stupid and meaningless buzzword
No it's not? It's just "look" but for a whole region or generation.
Not as much of a stupid meaningless buzzword as buzzword has become.
Not as stupid and meaningless as "slop"
Johto
Hisui looks beautiful, like a big impressionist painting
>aesthetically
Hoenn > Johto > Unova > Galar > Alola > Kanto > Sinnoh > Kalos > Paldea
Hoenn is my favourite gen, but anything other than Johto is incorrect. It has the perfect blend of the modern world meeting the natural one and it has fantastic music.
Johto=Hoenn>Alola>Hisui>Unova>Kanto=Sinnoh>Kalos=Paldea>Galar
Probably an unpopular take but I really liked Galar as a region. The framing of the gym challenge as an actual sporting league following the progress of up-and-coming trainers was a great stylistic choice that gave the region a very tangible identity. It also really gave the gym battles a sense of grandeur; even something as trivial as fighting the first gym leader, which you've done at least a dozen times before in the previous games, suddely feels much more tense and exciting when there's a whole stadium chanting and cheering in the background.
I was going to say Galar too, if we're just talking about aesthetics here. Maybe because I started out playing standard JRPGs with typically medieval themes, but I loved the look and feel of Galar, especially Hammerlocke. I think S/S had SO much potential to be incredible games, the basic ideas just never really got off the ground.
Yeah, the actual execution of SWSH was far from perfect but as a concept it had some really good ideas.
>ctual sporting league following the progress of up-and-coming trainers was a great stylistic choice
As someone who isn't a fan of Galar, I enjoyed the gym challenge aspect, it sells the idea of Galar being more battle focused and competitive compared to other regions I wish that the story had leaned on that instead of pulling an energy crisis out of nowhere then force-feeding us a world ending conflict that wasn't meaningfully build up or earned.
I absolutely despise soccer, sports culture, and celebrity culture in general so that shit put me off massively.
>The framing of the gym challenge as an actual sporting league following the progress of up-and-coming trainers was a great stylistic choice that gave the region a very tangible identity.
This is true but it just makes me hate the region because god do I fricking hate divevgrass and divegrass culture
I'm with you, really enjoyed the flavor of the region in general. The design of the routes was weak and bare but I felt that the colors and music and locations and the scenario all helped sell Galar's world to me regardless of the simplified wilderness design.
Unova > Hoenn > Alola > Hisui > Johto > Sinnoh
Rest don't matter
Johto and Kanto because it's classic and modern Japan side by side.
>all images have the silhouette of a pokemon except paldea
huh?
Look more closely anon, in the sky
i have no idea who that's supposed to be. an angry hexagon?
Oh my Arceus……
Thanks.
Kanto, Johto, and Unova.
Kalos
Kalos because I just like le old fairy woods and castles. I don’t mind Galar either.
I like Johto for the historic feeling also.
Unova could have been more urban but places like the dreamyard, accumula town and pinwheel forest have a nostalgic vibe to them.
Galar is nice looking too.
I feel hoenn lacks identity but I love how nature heavy it is. Feels like a real adventure.
Kalos
>ORRE
Sinnoh is panoramic
Kanto, Johto, and Sinnoh because they were relatively normal, functioning areas
Every other region became a theme park
Johto is too basic for me, only rural shit and forests being 90%, caves being 9% and Goldenrod being 1% of it.
>image is actually a fan-made rendition of an official product line
I was wondering why Galar and Paldea's look so bad. The official Kanto one doesn't have Mew and the truck, Galar's has Corviknight instead of G-Max Meowth, and there's thankfully not one for Paldea yet.
