Kingdom Hearts, not one game has lived up to the original. The closest were Chain of Memories which had a god tier story and shit tier gameplay, and Kingdom Hearts II which was the exact opposite.
This easily, just due to the fact that KH fanbase has to play all those shitty KH games to keep up with the story.

The decline in quality of the mainline games since X has been outstanding. The whole Fabula Nova Cristallis fiasco has been a disaster for the series, to the paint that Square doesn’t know what FF’s identity is anymore and think it can just be anything, even DMC-lite with MMO-tier side quests.
7R is the best the series has been since XII and even that is plagued with problem like padding, moronic multi-timeline story, and some of worst side quests I’ve seen in a video game (though Rebirth actually seems to address 2/3 of those points)
