Because the majority of controllers are now asymmetric, with Nintendo copying Xbox, so there's always a genuine threat of Sony finally caving and symmetric controllers being gone for good. So yes, we treat your enthusiasm for it as a threat, because it is. If there's too many of you, and you're too vocal, we won't get symmetric controllers anymore, which means I'll never use one, which means I can't play a bunch of games that need a controller.
I have this and loved it until the shoulders gave out recently. Basically no games used it so it had no wear on it, just outside of warranty and now they randomly misclick/doubleclick. Got an 8bitdo Pro 2.4Ghz to replace and haven't looked back. Wireless is great but I tolerated wired for the Wolverine v2 but I don't know how I keep falling for "Razer Quality" over and over. I've never owned anything of theirs, other than the Viper Mini, that has lasted more than a year. Only got the Memesense controller to try Ratchet & Clank but the stick layout is moronic so basically never use it.
As someone who plays smash daily, I fricking hate gamecube controllers. They are fricking awful. So sick of stick drift, snapback and all sorts of wonky issues on GC controllers. If I didnt think I'd get hassled at locals over it, and I could make light shielding work, I'd be playing on a PS5 controller.

I'm a controller master. I know what's best for ergonomics. DC was supreme. Wii U was supreme. Joycons are better than modern controllers because you can just relax your arms anywhere you want.
All controllers can be improved tho and we haven't hit the definitive controller yet.
I'm a fan of Xbox controllers always have been, but the new models are ass. The thumbsticks are stiffer and the buttons are "sticky", and the D-pad is a straight downgrade from the Xbox One controller, its as bad as the 360's was.
