        Yes.
ME1 was pure soul and ME2 getting rid of the Mako was its biggest flaw.

NASApunk is moronic garbage. There's a reason that Elite Dangerous added aliens and that is because pseudo-realistic space shit is boring on its own.

        >Interstellar
        >The Martian
        >The Expanse
        >Ad Astra
        >For All Mankind
        >Firefly
        There's a market for pseudo-realistic human-centric space shit

Interstellar got bored of its own halfway grounded science stuff halfway through the movie
The Martian is more of a survival film than a space one, and is also lame
Ad Astra is a movie for boomer dads to reminisce about their own fathers, its space elements were superficial set dressing designed to trick people into watching it.
Firefly is star wars with no aliens
          Haven't seen the other two

To be honest I've only seen The Expanse and Firefly, just listing the rest cause they range from popular to semi-popular enough to justify why Starfield would want to go for this angle.
Alien! That's another great example. That basically created the whole damn genre of blue collar sci-fi, even if the Predator crossover and Prometheus impact the human-centric angle.

I can understand human-centric scifi, I just dislike the NASApunk aesthetic. "Star wars with no aliens" may sound like a pejorative, but I actually like Firefly. WWII combat and cowboys in space isn't even slightly how space flight, combat, or exploration would actually be, but it is a hell of a lot more fun.

            Expanse is worth a watch.

The belters are endured...the entire series...just hold fast because the overall show is good. The belters though...like antifa and Black folk crossed.

Honestly, Todd should have made only 1% of planets have life on them just to spite you

They might be barren like most planets but you can fly your ship to them and breach the atmosphere as you land your starship

this game is going to be goty

One of the planets, the furthest from the start, contains the entirety of Skyrim. You land and you can play through the entire game as a spaceman. Got leaked in another thread.

That would be amazing, to explore other bethesda game's maps in Starfield with updated lighting engine.
Although I highly doubt there's going to be quests and characters related to those.

Its not No Mans Sky where every planet has life on it and as result exploring its infinite universe is boring because every planet is the same. Even if 50% of the planets had life on them it'd be a boring experience. 10% is the right number, rare enough that its special when you find a planet with life on it. As for the 900 without you don't have to spend your whole playthrough on them, just collect the resources you need a go look for a more interesting one or stay and destroy a pirate base, or help some stranded miners or researchers, explore a crashed ship or an alien ruin. These planets will not be as empty as you think. They won't follow the 40 second rule but they won't be completely barren either.

They will be barren, but they will be cinematic and have aesthetic environments that will be epic to move around, unlike NMS where it looks kinda janky.

You do realize you're not the only spaceman, right? A planet without endemic life is still going to have people building or crashing shit into it

Then don't explore them, stick to the main story line planets.

People here thinking they will be able to explore the 1000 planets in one play through

THE PLANETS DON'T NEED TO HAVE LIFE!
It's more realistic this way. It will make space more barren and cold, and finding life on other planets that much more impactful.

    Sounds like kino to me.

just because there's no native life doesn't mean there's no people. explorers and pirates exist

there should only be 1 planet with life on it, earth, but actually 0 planets because earth is a nuclear wasteland and everything's dead
