What's your favorite location? For me it's the fountain palace. Them maybe Mibu village. Great map full of respawning disgusting villagers crawling out of holes like zombies, beautiful gloomy scenery, and you get the swimming underwater upgrade later doubling the size of the area.
Its easy to get good. Then when you do you realize how shallow the combat is and how pointless 90% of the mechanics are because the optimal way to play is r1l1r1l1 for 30 hours
I had fun playing it, it was maybe slightly harder than it needed to be at times but it was still good fun (and it didn't help I sort of forgot to ever go back to the old lady to get her upgrade after I initially left to pursue the main plot)

Sekiro genuinely feels like dogshit to play. Its so sluggish and every encounter is the same from beginning to end. Souls/Elden Ring have slower combat but still feel faster and less tedious because the games aren't specifically tuned to make every enemy that isnt a giant attack a split second faster than you can to ensure youre playing it the correct way. Sekiro combat feels like you're wading through mud.
i prefer the rpg elements in from games which is why i don't like bb and seks as much. I can get why you'd like this sort of game though and i did enjoy it, but not as much as ds1 for instance probably still better than ds3 though

Fountainhead Palace is by all metrics the best part of the game. At least when talking about looks
