Lomorons make shit up as they go along. They see some recycled asset and go >DIS IS LORAE!!! >WUT DID HE MEAN BY THIS!!!???
The state. The absolute state.
I remember Vaati had that first video where he bumble-fricked through everything and fricked the succession of events so hard that no one knew what he was even talking about, all based on an asset in Deeproot.
>noo this isn't the lore (tm) like vaatividya explained it! did they even watch the "prepare to cry" about miquella? how could fromsoft do this to souls video essay buffs like myself?
>google search anons schizo posting >it’s a real channel
Imagine even knowing about YT video essayists enough to not only name drop one, but also name drop a video you definitely “haven’t watched” or watched “ironically” so you can pretend to make fun of people on 4lulz
Why are zoomers consistently the biggest homosexuals of all time, if you’re gonna make fun of something you better not sound like you also consume it you fricking moron
holy schizo batman, nta and I don't even watch the guy but if you've played souls games once in the past decade and then looked up anything about the games, chances are you've heard about or seen a video by vaati. you don't have to make up some elaborate fake scenario just to call the guy a moron newbie
you dont need a 5 hour lore lecture to have known who artorias or ludwig were when playing casually
because they relevant established characters important to the base game even before they got a boss fight
doomtroony already proved wrong
It's literally about pre-Erdtree culture and how Marika came to be an Empyrean and founded the GO, but includes Miquella/St. Trina
pls understand the devs are out of berserk material to copy, they have the wickerman from elf island and then it's back to sticking limbs on spergout monsters and generic humanoids named shit like scion of respite from here on out.
morons who can't grasp the stories of these games expose themselves as barely literate. Like "I know C H I C K E N on the diner menu means that bird I like to eat, but chapter books are well beyond my grasp" illiterate.
it's probably the Goldmask equivalent in whatever fricked version of the world we're going in the DLC. Something Miquella dreamed up or whatever the Shadow in Shadow of the Erdtree means
Gotta be another Godfrey kid. DLC seems like its all about the losers and sinners, probably children we haven't heard of all allied like Rykard did at Volcano Manor. Miquella's fricked up x-men.
Actually that's clearly the bodies of Morgott and Hoara Loux tigerthing.
The feet slam on the ground I swear is one of Margit tells for a delayed attack
It's some kind of omen lion dancer. You can see at least two dudes in it and the lion is a mask.
is closest I think
shitty screenshot, but you can see one is standing on the other during the attack where it rears up and spews out smoke/fog/whatever
I'm with other anons in assuming all of the truly degenerated and spurned people in history are bosses here. Probably the guys that Vyke and Gideon stole his runes from.
its a lion/omen corpse head being puppeted by grafted tarnished limbs. you can see the tarnished arms holding the jaws together and puppeting the mouth around. there are probably 30 limbs inside the robes
In the Fromsoft visual language lexicon, two sets of teeth seem to represent beings worshipped as Gods despite being driven by some kind of hostile power.
There are two sets of teeth because it's a dude wearing a lion head as a mask you schizo
its a lion/omen corpse head being puppeted by grafted tarnished limbs. you can see the tarnished arms holding the jaws together and puppeting the mouth around. there are probably 30 limbs inside the robes
Theory 1: You know it's weird that only Ranni had a an animal hybrid vassal, imagine if this was Morgott's/Mohg's/Godwyn's vassal.
Theory 2: The only reason why Godfrey kept having Omen children is because Marika is a white woman and she had Serosh nut inside her after every session with Godfrey and the half lion kid made it so obvious that on the last time she only had sex with Godfrey and Godwyn came out.
It's not. Miyazaki explained in the interview with Famitsu that Land of Shadow where an Erdtree was born after Marika ascended to godhood, but there was a different culture there bofere her ascension. The lion boss is apparently a remainder of this not!China culture.
It's one of those dancing dragon masks from China. If you pause at a specific frame you can notice a cloaked dude holding another duse on his shoulders.
These homosexuals should be happy, From kneeled and added "body type A and B"
Is that not enough for these demons, they are feeding on purity and sanity, shitting out twisted and grotesque aberrations?
Cursed kind, but I would call them to get back to sanity, look up to the sky and see, see another path for you.
>lmao imagine playing online and getting stupid ghosts running around everywhere distracting you and moronic immersion breaking messages.
I play it first Offline then Online to help others fight the bosses
Just like Ranni then. Looks like he also got rid of his physical body, if you go by the description of the DLC, but he didn't have to kill Godwyn to do it
yea there is moron the song the banshee sings in latin is mistranslated by the moronic devs who then gave it to the voice actor and now its permanently wrong
Do you seriously think the developers expected the player to be able to understand Latin to gain some kind of insight into the meaning of their game? It’s just flavour. It’s like the fake Latin you hear in a lot of boss soundtracks, it’s meant to sound cool and nothing more.

you have to hold many thoughts, ideas and associations in your head at once, and then hypothesize about ideas and reject or accept some of them as you find lore or environmental evidence that contradicts or confirms your ideas. Since there is a lot going on at once, it is hard to communicate it in little snippets and remember to convey the vast amount of background knowledge required to understand to a layperson such as yourself.
The lore isn't that deep despite being presented as so. >Marika links the flame and becomes Elden Lord of whatever >Has a bunch kids with birth defects >She breaks the Elden Ring because her son dies or because she orchestrated the whole thing herself >Neither is ever explained why >She's also a man named Radagon who was created for a single backstory event that doesn't matter and affects nothing >This is a huge revelation even though there's no context as to why >Then you kill her and link the fire yourself.
That's about it. Everything outside of that is meaningless fluff that's unimportant to the game or cut content fragments that go no where.
>>She's also a man named Radagon who was created for a single backstory event that doesn't matter and affects nothing
Black person the entire reason why the game still occurs and hasn't ended is because radagon exists
The reason the game happens is because Marika summons you for ??? so that you can ???, in the end you fight Radagon because s/he wants to keep you from ??? because that would mean ???. Then you sit on a throne and preside over a dead land full of nothing, unless you melt it all to ??? or you invoke the Dark Moon with Ranni so ???.
>The reason the game happens is because Marika summons you for
killing radagon >so that you can
start a new age and take the current one off life support >in the end you fight Radagon because s/he wants to keep you from
doing that >because that would mean
he cant autistically cling to the current age anymore
Yep. Dark Souls was far more vague. What the frick is the Cathedral of the Deep? What was New Londo? Why was Seath scaleless? Who was Priscilla? What actually happened in Izalith? All unanswered questions.
Meanwhile ER has so many NPCs loredumpng you about each Demigod, where they are, what their motivation is, what the Shattering is and how it affects the land...
It's night and day, really.
Yep. Dark Souls has only one source of lore outside item descriptions and the intro cutscene, and its the Primordial Serpents.
Elden Ring has comprehensive lore in many cutscenes and item descriptions while also being filled to the brim with NPCs who tell you the lore about the state of the world and the bosses and how they relate to the Golden Order and the Erdtree. Gideon is basically this game's Frampt, but has like 10x the voice lines and dialogue options.

Yeah but vaati already filled all the gaps for DS1 so its lore is super well documented and coherent. Everything is really well explained if you just watch his videos, just don't fact check him so it all makes perfect sense.
Vaati is just a youtuber. He makes content because he chose being online as a career. He's not an expert in anything, he doesn't have any insider knowledge. His opinion doesn't really matter and has proven to be wrong many times.
I don't know why you'd give half a shit about what he says.

I was being sarcastic but that is what the community believes. DS1 lore is superior because of the easy to digest 10 minute prepare to cry videos everyone watched a decade ago. But Elden Ring is so detailed that people make hours of videos on every topic and it's not all "this is so sad please subscribe", who has the time for that? So it's obviously has to be worse.

Elden ring is the least detailed out of all their games which makes the 10 hour lore breakdowns even funnier
Yup but the problem with that is that it makes it easier for speculative youtubers to create coherent narratives with the OC to fill in stuff we simply can't know. That, in turn, leads to obnoxious posters criticising From for breaking with the lore, when what they're actually mad about is Vaati's made up drivel being just that.
I don't even pay attention to 99% of the opinions, stances, takes, viewpoints, rhetoric or narratives of people here what makes you think I'd do it for Youtubers, redditors and bots?
>The shadow of the erdtree was the first place Marika came from
she is literally the prostitute of Elden Ring everywhere she went she spread her prostitute legs and birthed demons and deformed creatures, she was guided by the greater will to create grace born childrren
So where the frick is Godwyn's part in all of this? I honestly believe we've only seen either like half of the DLC and considering they said "Trailer 1" the second might be more about Godwyn and Deathroot in general?
Unless he has his own DLC, he should be in there somewhere. Godwyn is more relevant to the plot than Micky is anyway. Miquella is just hyped up because of his connection to two secret bosses.
Yeah he should be in this expansion but they haven't hinted anything at him yet
Unless he has his own DLC, he should be in there somewhere. Godwyn is more relevant to the plot than Micky is anyway. Miquella is just hyped up because of his connection to two secret bosses.

Isn't Godwyn finished? You potentially deal with his story by going through the death story and coming to the conclusion that his soul is dead, what more can be covered?
his undead body is still cancer that attached to the erdtree and is infecting the land. At the very least you should be able to put him out of his misery. Be a shame to just fight his litch dragon and not the man himself.
>conclusion his soul is dead
You figure this out less than halfway through the game. The frick are you on about, and the FIA ending doesn't "solve it" it just says frick it and accepts it. It's still spreading blight and what not, it's probably been empowered now that it's entwined into the ring
Possible or maybe Marika swapped with Radagon when she went there which would make him Radagon's son, brother or something like that.
Ranni and Miquella both had to shed their physical bodies to escape the the Golden Order but since Marika was basically a God, maybe she could do some special magics and split her soul or something.
It would make sense for Miquella to know about the whole shadow realm since he was the son of Radagon and Marika
So, Messmer is either >the moniker of a young Rykard >the corrupted memory of Rykard in the shadow world as Miquella remembers them >the son of Rykard and the kinky lady from Gelmir >the son of ??? and Marika >the son of ??? and ???
the land of shadow is an actual physical place that was shunted apart from the lands between, it's not an alternate timeline/reality or the past
it's probably the missing landmass that formed the land bridge between caelid and mountaintops
Dragon cult was founded by Godwyn (probably) and was generally tolerated >The worship of the ancient dragons does not conflict with belief in the Erdtree.
It is almost always referred to as "the capital's Dragon cult" so they where practicing in the capital and Marika didn't do shit so I don't think that's it.
Snake and blasphemy magic, though if related to Marika it’s most likely Dragon Cult magic, which might make the old impaled guy the Elden Lord of the dragons that disappeared (to the shadow lands), guessing he’ll pull the sword out of himself and turn into dragon or some shit
none of these, he is a son of Marika ruling in the Realm of Shadows, where Marika herself became an Empyrean, so there's a lot of Crucible related enemies and culture, and we might even get more about the 2/3 Fingers too
miquella's gold needle was working fine, malenia broke it herself with radahn, she didn't bloom against her will, she nuked caelid then ruined the haligtree by choice, she couldn't be cured but she definitely can be helped except she doesn't want the help
pic rel was dancing with the blades, we know tanith used to be a dancer or something, I hope we get some proper resolution to her since last time we saw her she was fricking eating rykard. Patches has that whole thing of "give tanith this important item please" and yet nothing happens afterwards
Marika entered this Shadow Land, and became a god here. If that means literal, or metaphorically it's up in the air right now.
This could be were she killed the Fell God, and became the the de-facto god and started the Golden Order.
Some people think the erdtree isn't an illusion that wasn't already burned, yet I can see the moon through the tree. Care to explain yourselves? It's not real. It's a spiritual tree, its the idea of the tree. It's the immortality magic from the tree or the golden shards or the greater will or whatever.
Yes a lore youtuber but instead of just reading item descriptions word for word like everyone else does he looks at the visual details of the world and comes up with new theories and he’s literally always correct
I wouldn't say he's always correct. In fact, a lot of the theories and ideas about themes in the game lacks evidence and is largely speculatory. One example that comes to mind is the idea of fate vs. free will. People assume that there is some struggle for free will as well as think that Goldmask's rune somehow "removes" free will from the world even though the only thing his rune says is that the gods' fickleness is a fly in the ointment. Keep in mind that this assumes that free will is already a thing in the world. Then you go and talk to almost anybody and they almost all speak about fate as if its already a real thing (i.e. not free will), and then you actually play the game and find out that literally everything you are doing was already prophesised long ago, from the tarnished returning being preordained by marika to the burning of the erdtree being foreseen by priests.
A lot of things don't seem to add up here.
Anything to do with the endings is purely speculation as you can't really know for certain because the game ends there.

ok. You are being irrational.
you are assuming that the word perfect implies "removing" free will because free will makes people irrational apperantly. but there is nothing about perfect order that implies this. Perfect for what?
In any case, this of course implies that free will was already a thing, which as I have shown goes against everything the game tells you up to that point where everyone already talks as if they have a fate.

You still haven't explained all the prior mentions of fate in the game which imply that it is already a real thing.
I am being serious. Fate isn't fricking real, just like it's not real in real life, and the fact you can't softlock yourself without glitches doesn't change this. It's a spook, an excuse, a cope. "It's not my fault, it couldn't be helped, it was fate." It's pretty much a main theme of the game that each of the demigods are petulant morons that see themselves as victims of a broken world and each thinks themselves uniquely suited to rule it, when it was they themselves that broke it.
Also you totally can tell the prophecy to go frick itself and inter the frenzied flame.

And trying to undermine the agency of the characters detracts from the general public's perception of the narrative quality.

This is ridiculous. Fate does not make a story more "abstract" or whatever the frick you even mean by that word. >Most From games are actually pretty fricking humanist and cynical regardless of the bombastic dressing of their settings
Sounds like a perfect setting for determinism. >And trying to undermine the agency of the characters detracts from the general public's perception of the narrative quality.
It evidently does not. Have you read the Illiad? Belief in fate was extremely common among ancient people

>Fate does not make a story more "abstract"
Yes it does. You suggest characters are not making rational choices and that their decisions and words cannot be meaningfully evaluated as representing their actual motivation and character. >Sounds like a perfect setting for determinism
No, it doesn't. In fact most From games are specifically about denying or defying the "inevitable" >Have you read the Illiad?
Fate is the weakest aspect of the Illiad and indeed ALL stories rooted in Greek and Roman mythology. Also focusing on it detracts from the actual tragedy and lessons of the siege of Troy.

Indeed. A struggle against fate. How romantic! >Fate is the weakest aspect of the Illiad and indeed ALL stories rooted in Greek and Roman mythology.
Ok, you are essentially just trying to talk about your personal tastes at this point. I'm not going to turn this into a discussion about fate. My only point was that fate, according to the lore and item descriptions, is heavily implied if not outright confirmed to be a real force. If you disagree with this, then you are free to actually give evidence instead of just spouting headcanons and pretending that Radhan is just holding the stars in place because of something meaningless like the fact that he doesn't like them or why the fingerslayerblade cannot be weilded by a person without a fate.
Also, for your information, fate heightens the sense of tragedy in the sense that no matter how hard you struggle, you cannot escape it, which the greeks were aware of hence their various tragedies. Again, ancient people tended to believe in fate. And just like them, the people and gods in elden ring do too.

I'm the guy he replied to. We don't even know that. There can be no clear conclusion drawn from purely empirical grounds, like with so many other things in this game. Listen, if you want to reject it then that's fine but you should at least explain why. The entire plot of the game is basically a prophecy. People speak about fate as if they are in the illiad. At the very least, the belief in fate is unanimous. And the fact that Ranni talks about her fate as if its a real thing implies this.
If this is the case, then there would be no free will for Goldmask to remove.

It's pretty much a main theme of the game that each of the demigods are petulant morons that see themselves as victims of a broken world and each thinks themselves uniquely suited to rule it, when it was they themselves that broke it.
Also you totally can tell the prophecy to go frick itself and inter the frenzied flame.

Stop falling for israeli tricks, idiot.

I don't endorse it. Obviously goldmask is the best ending. I'm just saying the fact FF is possible proves fate is bullshit.

actually, the frenzied flame does still seem to align with prophecy, you become the lord of frenzied flame and still burn the erdtree. It could however also imply that the frenzied flame, being chaos, is indeterminism or pure chance and therefore being the only thing to actually throw a wrench into the order of the world.

>We don't even know that
Read the FRICKING DESCRIPTION OF THE RUNE. >We can however reasonably infer that the game already has some sense of predetermined fate
Fate is a spook. At best, "who controls fate" ist just a way of saying "who is in charge". Other times it's literally just superstition, a coping mechanism. For example, whether Ranni becomes god queen of the moon or sits in her doll house for the rest of time is a choice made by YOU, not the stars, not "fate".

>Read the FRICKING DESCRIPTION OF THE RUNE.
calm down.
wouldn't that imply more that your choice is an illusion instead of just saying "oh yeah, the gods, people, and all the item descriptions are just wrong on this. Fate no real". At the end of the day, it's a video game ofc. But I think just ignoring the entire story of the game being prophesised is not very prudent.

The mending rune of perfect order does not mention fate or destiny or anything even tangentally related to it. The rune seeks to resolve the instability and flaws of the golden order, and correctly identifies the problem as being the existence of human "gods" who just make shit up and muddle with the rules of nature.
Anonymous
Indeed. I'm the guy who said that there's nothing indicating that Goldmask's rune removes free will or has anything to do with fate explicitly as it is not mentioned and the whole game already implies that fate is already a real thing meaning there would be no free will to remove. Were you paying attention?

>I can't think of even a single counter to what you said, but if I'm rude and dismissive enough maybe he'll doubt himself
You are a womanbrain moron
Yes a lore youtuber but instead of just reading item descriptions word for word like everyone else does he looks at the visual details of the world and comes up with new theories and he’s literally always correct
He predicted that empyrean simply meant being a demigod with a womb so that only female demigods could become vessels and achieve godhood.
Miquella was cursed with eternal puberty, so she thought she could be reborn in a suitable vessel, while Rykard is called the lord of blasphemy because he attempted to become a god while being a man. This also explains why Ranni destroyed her body, she did not want to be raped by an interdimensional entity.
>He predicted that empyrean simply meant being a demigod with a womb so that only female demigods could become vessels and achieve godhood.
ok, I'm confused. If he predicted it then that means that it was unconfirmed information beforehand. When was it then confirmed that empyrean simply meant being a demigod with a womb?
It's just a unconfirmed theory but the trailer and information revealed hints that miquella is now a woman, his EN voice actor is female and he is waiting for his lord.

Surely this will stop the the stupid trend of morons calling miquella they... right?
That would be an interesting parallel to Anor Londo, with Gwyndolin positioned similarly to Miquella. This would make placing the lordvessel similar to burning the thorns preventing us from entering the erdtree.
indeed. as it says in the item description of the memory of grace, it is merely a cycle. other elden lords have taken the throne, but has anything really changed?
Reminder Tarnished Archaeologist was right about literally everything
>the erdtree is an illusion >that's why it functions as a completely solid and impregnable fortress until you hit it with both the fel flames of ruin AND destined death
Fricking morons.
There is no evidence that the erdtree is burned. "There is ash in the capital" is evidence that there was a fire, possibly PART of the tree was burnt, but burning the whole thing would fricking obliterate Leyendell. Which is exactly what happens when WE burn the tree.
the final arena is a burned husk already. dried and burned, not currently burning. the first fire (I guess messmers) it didnt burn it to the ground it burned it to the stump, which is why theres still a physical means of entry. its bows are illusory, which is why it doesnt give sap anymore
It doesn't give sap because the source of its power was torn to pieces. How do illusionary bows produce physical golden seeds that grow into real erdtrees? Why does burning that illusion cause Leyendell to be destroyed by an avalanche of ash?

How do illusionary bows produce physical golden seeds that grow into real erdtrees?
spirit stuff i dunno. im not saying its very well explained but i am saying its literally transparent and they constantly talk about a cardinal sin involving fire. >Why does burning that illusion cause Leyendell to be destroyed by an avalanche of ash?
why does margit die when we hit him
Anonymous
The "cardinal sin" is something yet to come (which you and Melina make real). Corhyn was expelled from the golden order clergy from just prophecizing it, and even he was in denial that it could or would ever happen. >why does margit die when we hit him
Margit dies and turns into fairydust. Plus he's not even completely an illusion, each Margit is formed from the body of a human.
the spirit world is real, but you can still look at that tree and decide it isn't purely physical. How do you explain the roundtable hold, full of spirits that you literally pick up who 'join you' like Roderika. Only your loyal blacksmith sticks with you once you go to the volcano and your body gets possessed by melina, everyone else attached to you flees. You can't explain NPCs being at the roundtable hold and magically teleporting there and having it similtaneously burn because of you burning the erdtree. The place existing physically in Leyndell and not at the same time spiritually makes no sense. You go inside and they aren't there. Because they aren't in the physical spot. They are in the spiritual spot, attached to it.
The roundtable hold is a weird "place" that's apparently "inside" the erdtree. Yes, the tree is magic, it doesn't JUST physically exist, I only said that it DOES, which is how it's physically solid, produces real plant seeds, and burns into real ash. >Only your loyal blacksmith sticks with you once you go to the volcano and your body gets possessed by melina, everyone else attached to you flees.
Is this chatGPT? What is this schizo shit? Melina kills herself. Everyone leaves because the building is on fire.
The part where you enter the Erdtree isn’t an illusion, it’s the husk of the original burnt tree. You can see a colour change where the original bark meets the illusory gold.
Not him but he's right, you shouldn't compare it to ds2 bone fist just because it's a souls game, elden ring borrows from every other fromsoft game not just the souls ones, the reverse grip blade we see in this trailer looks like it'll be a connected rakuyo like trick weapon in bloodborne, and the kicks is obviously borrowing from sekiros "senpou style", it's pretty fricking different to bone fists
I'm prepping a character to take into the DLC. Should I do a STR/INT build with the moonlight greatsword, or is there a STR/FAITH build with similar versatility? I want to break away from my old DEX habits.
Man Ganker's discussion quality just gets worse and worse huh?
Who the frick are you people? How did you get here? Why are you dedicating your lives to making this board worse? I just don't get it. You deserve death.
>DLC does NOT unlock any changes to the main game's story. DLC story is completely independent.
Miquella ending bros….we fricking lost…he’s the final boss….
debate is happening. i think its a brother of malenia and miquella. refers to marika as "mother," red hair, "M" name, and a fire theme that clicks perfectly with the butterfly - twin connection.
ringed city doesnt show Gael and Ariendelle only has 2 fricking bosses, they had to show something. besides this is more like artorias or old hunters, neither of which showed the final encounter. what are you even trying to say to me?
Anonymous
It showed ariandel flypping for 1 sec and Gael and the sand arena
Miquella charmed Mohg into doing his bidding. The "formless mother" is literally the absence of Marika in the shadowlands. Messmer's spells aren't fire they're bloodflame. It is only in a realm in which Marika literally does not exist that Miquella can succeed in creating a new tree and a new kingdom. Hence why he left the Haligtree; it failed because, even though it is hidden away in the Lands Between, it's nonetheless in the shadow of the Erdtree.
Did anyone else notice that the shield the Tarnished is wielding in the Messmer fight looks sort of like a twinblade? It's got spikes on either end of it.
>astrologer set says astrologer's are the heir to glintstone sorceror's >Sword of night and flame says astrologer's preceded sorceror's
Which is it? Are they shitty nu-sorceror's or ancient magic proto-sorceror's?
>everyone saying this is Miquellas "dream".
All the interviews with Miyazaki are explicitly saying this is an area that actually exists in a different plane but in the same space as the lands between. It's not just a dream world, the characters there are all real and inhabit that space. It's also been all but confirmed Messmer is a 4th child of Marika/Radagon.
>All the interviews with Miyazaki are explicitly saying this is an area that actually exists in a different plane but in the same space as the lands between
Ianr that how dream worlds usually work in fantasy?
Not necessarily but lovecraft stories usually dreams are also real places which Miyazaki uses this in every game he makes. It's probably the same in this where it's a dream but also a real place as well.
Going by naming convention, Melina could easily be Marika's sister or even her disembodied spirit. We know she can't be radagon's kid because the gloam eyed queen predated the golden order entirely.
I have to admit the timeline aspect of Gloam Eyed queen has always been infuriatingly vague and leans more towards predating Radagon but I still think the game wants you to think of her as a daughter of Marika at the very least, and that she isn't just her disembodied spirit, considering she was around at the same time as Marika. She was also an Empyrean, and all Empyreans besides Marika have been children of Marika.
Melina was "born" around the same time Marika was imprisoned in the tree. When we finally get to Marika, she's a soulless husk except for Radagon, and when he's dead, nothing remains but broken flesh. Melina is probably Marika's spirit. We know she had an affinity for spirit tuning. A second possibility is that Marika tuned the spirit of The GEQ after Maliketh killed her, but this would not explain why Melina's sacrifice is framed as attonement for Marika, or how Melina has Marika's memories.

One way or another Melina has to be connected to the Goam Eyed Queen, the frenzied flame ending can have no other meaning. It's not just some random shit thrown in for the lulz. There's way too much evidence supporting this as well. Gloam Eyed Queen has always been one of the most annoying parts of the lore because it muddles things so much but is also one of the most intriguing.
>invaded by Milicent in the swamp >Milicent has died >Kill guy in the swamp, get needle, talk to gawdry in the shack >run up the hill to the church >talk to Milicent

Yes. Lore autismos think this shit is coherent yet every time the "lore" is stapled together bullshit.
>lomorons get it
>you do not
>therefore they MUST be lying or something, couldnt possibly be ME right?
Eric there's no such thing as elden ring lore
Is there a reason anons like to stay obviously stupid things
Is there a reason why people point out elden ring has no lore?
Lot of stupid shit like godefroy and vike being near endgame without killing morgott
Lomorons make shit up as they go along. They see some recycled asset and go
>DIS IS LORAE!!!
>WUT DID HE MEAN BY THIS!!!???
The state. The absolute state.
I remember Vaati had that first video where he bumble-fricked through everything and fricked the succession of events so hard that no one knew what he was even talking about, all based on an asset in Deeproot.
Loregays are so pathetic.
Lomorons get what? Mistranslated garbage from Frog Nation that inserts heckin Frozen references into item descriptions?
Yup you've cracked the code
>noo this isn't the lore (tm) like vaatividya explained it! did they even watch the "prepare to cry" about miquella? how could fromsoft do this to souls video essay buffs like myself?
You’re a Black person
>google search anons schizo posting
>it’s a real channel
Correct
doomtroony already proved wrong
It's literally about pre-Erdtree culture and how Marika came to be an Empyrean and founded the GO, but includes Miquella/St. Trina
>DS3 ending
>"Save Londor"
>Never again to talk about it
>"Maybe in the Dlc we'll go to..."
>Nope, nothing.
Good. All I want are some new enemies to fight and new weapons to use.

pls understand the devs are out of berserk material to copy, they have the wickerman from elf island and then it's back to sticking limbs on spergout monsters and generic humanoids named shit like scion of respite from here on out.

morons who can't grasp the stories of these games expose themselves as barely literate. Like "I know C H I C K E N on the diner menu means that bird I like to eat, but chapter books are well beyond my grasp" illiterate.

He's clearly getting impaled and the main bad guy is called the impaler, HUMMMMMMMM
Nearly Headless Nick
Might be Gold Mask according to that symbol.
Yeah I’m gonna say it’s Goldmask gone fricking insane after the player royally fricked up the world some how.
It isn't because this isn't post-game. It's just another "touch thing and go to a place we never mentioned before where shit happens" DLC
it's probably the Goldmask equivalent in whatever fricked version of the world we're going in the DLC. Something Miquella dreamed up or whatever the Shadow in Shadow of the Erdtree means
Goldmask doesn't look like that, he's black, bald, and thinner. You can also see Goldmask's face from the sides of his mask.
forsen
>Blonde hair
>Omen spikes
>Lion face
what the frick
Gotta be another Godfrey kid. DLC seems like its all about the losers and sinners, probably children we haven't heard of all allied like Rykard did at Volcano Manor. Miquella's fricked up x-men.
An omen child of Marika and Maliketh
>you just know
that's the lion on Godfrey's shoulder
serosh doesn't have a second jaw with perfect line of teeths
it's like this guy uses lion head as a helmet
Actually that's clearly the bodies of Morgott and Hoara Loux tigerthing.
The feet slam on the ground I swear is one of Margit tells for a delayed attack
Under the cloak it's clearly a grafted so maybe
no, actually, it's visibly two+ dudes
is closest I think
shitty screenshot, but you can see one is standing on the other during the attack where it rears up and spews out smoke/fog/whatever
I'm with other anons in assuming all of the truly degenerated and spurned people in history are bosses here. Probably the guys that Vyke and Gideon stole his runes from.
thats the daughter of godfrey 🙂
I'm not crying
It's some kind of omen lion dancer. You can see at least two dudes in it and the lion is a mask.
miquella tried grafting godwyins corpse and created this united states citizen
Don't forget the lightning
Gwyn???
No it's Fwyn. His brother
Surly you mean Gwhen?
That's his arch nemesis with a cane
its a lion/omen corpse head being puppeted by grafted tarnished limbs. you can see the tarnished arms holding the jaws together and puppeting the mouth around. there are probably 30 limbs inside the robes
Wow there's so much lore
It's Godwyn.
Really strange teeth also.
In the Fromsoft visual language lexicon, two sets of teeth seem to represent beings worshipped as Gods despite being driven by some kind of hostile power.
Nah.
There are two sets of teeth because it's a dude wearing a lion head as a mask you schizo
>Eren!
its two guys standing on top of eachother
the entire point of being grafted is you take the bodies of several things and put them together
>three racoons in a trenchcoat
Unionic kino
Holy shit shit made the children in a coat a boss
The lion face is a mask. The real head is beneath.
its literally just a stolen concept from ffxiv lmao
Man that looks stupid

Glad another high IQ individual saw it
>ffxiv invented Bali's Barong Dance
Is the figure at the very end Miquella?
Wonder how many times we'll get to fight a reskinned version of this guy
The lion boss is apparently a remainder of this not!China culture.
many of the beast items refer to primordial culture
Maybe they're the same culture, maybe something exclusive to the DLC. Miyazaki's response could be taken either way.
It's an animatronic like in Five Nights at Freddy's, you can see the endoskeleton's teeth.
It's one of those dancing dragon masks from China. If you pause at a specific frame you can notice a cloaked dude holding another duse on his shoulders.
the lion head is actually fake, you can see it’s being held up by arms of a figure hidden behind the cloak
It's a fricking chinese dragon
None of you morons know what a fricking lion dance is

they hate quality and improvement while celebrating mediocrity and degeneracy
they want the world to be as shit as their mindset
These homosexuals should be happy, From kneeled and added "body type A and B"
Is that not enough for these demons, they are feeding on purity and sanity, shitting out twisted and grotesque aberrations?
Cursed kind, but I would call them to get back to sanity, look up to the sky and see, see another path for you.
Why is Eric obsessed with elden ring and a delusional loretroony?
It’s literally nothing more than “oh lots of people like this? Well then I hate it and I always have”

Mogh really did a number on this poor kid, didn't he?
We have to protect his smile
I can't wait for the time travel sequence and the "you have come john elden ring"
It's a nightmare because we killed Mogh
It was Miquela that seduced Mogh.
Miquella was in a cocoon when he was kidnapped while Malenia was away.
So? Miquela is magical shota that puts literally everyone he has ever interacted with under a charm spell that makes them love him.
multiple item descriptions heavily imply Miquella is an evil scheming manipulator. Not to mention he’s clearly not!Griffith
Just like Ranni then. Looks like he also got rid of his physical body, if you go by the description of the DLC, but he didn't have to kill Godwyn to do it
theres nothing to implicate him being evil, just scheming and manipulative
I need more dragon armor bastards to kill them with parrys

I have 190 hours in ER and I'm like halfway through the snow area and I feel like I know absolutely nothing about the game.
Read all the item descriptions and talk to all the npcs
>Read all the mistranslated item descriptions and the names of bosses which have nothing to do with their Japanese names
there are no real mistranslations in the game thoughever
yea there is moron the song the banshee sings in latin is mistranslated by the moronic devs who then gave it to the voice actor and now its permanently wrong
what an embarrassment
Do you seriously think the developers expected the player to be able to understand Latin to gain some kind of insight into the meaning of their game? It’s just flavour. It’s like the fake Latin you hear in a lot of boss soundtracks, it’s meant to sound cool and nothing more.
Fromsoft doesn't care if anything is understood because there's nothing to understand
>i don’t get it that means there’s nothing to get
Correct Eric there's literally nothing to understand in elden ring lore. It's all gibberish
you have to hold many thoughts, ideas and associations in your head at once, and then hypothesize about ideas and reject or accept some of them as you find lore or environmental evidence that contradicts or confirms your ideas. Since there is a lot going on at once, it is hard to communicate it in little snippets and remember to convey the vast amount of background knowledge required to understand to a layperson such as yourself.
You're mentally moronic
Everything in every fromsoft game is mistranslated. Look up any boss' name in japanese
For me it all started making sense on the second run when I was already used to all the names and had an idea of how things happened chronologically.
The lore isn't that deep despite being presented as so.
>Marika links the flame and becomes Elden Lord of whatever
>Has a bunch kids with birth defects
>She breaks the Elden Ring because her son dies or because she orchestrated the whole thing herself
>Neither is ever explained why
>She's also a man named Radagon who was created for a single backstory event that doesn't matter and affects nothing
>This is a huge revelation even though there's no context as to why
>Then you kill her and link the fire yourself.
That's about it. Everything outside of that is meaningless fluff that's unimportant to the game or cut content fragments that go no where.
Don't forget
>You link the fire and it happens off screen and all you get is a cutscenes of sitting in a chair
>Marika links the flame
Uhh this isn't Dark Souls dude, what flame
Change flame for rune and you realice you were playing dark souls 4
It's even lazier than that but it's not worth going into detail
>>She's also a man named Radagon who was created for a single backstory event that doesn't matter and affects nothing
Black person the entire reason why the game still occurs and hasn't ended is because radagon exists
The reason the game happens is because Marika summons you for ??? so that you can ???, in the end you fight Radagon because s/he wants to keep you from ??? because that would mean ???. Then you sit on a throne and preside over a dead land full of nothing, unless you melt it all to ??? or you invoke the Dark Moon with Ranni so ???.
>The reason the game happens is because Marika summons you for
killing radagon
>so that you can
start a new age and take the current one off life support
>in the end you fight Radagon because s/he wants to keep you from
doing that
>because that would mean
he cant autistically cling to the current age anymore
its all very clearly explained
Elden Ring is much clearer in its narrative than Dark Souls.
Lmao
Nope
Nope
Cutscenes? Kek you moron got tranni citscene chopped in a youtube trailer as hype farming
holy ESL schizo
the absolute state of nu-/v/
Sure thing vaati.
I didnt know shit in DS either but it didnt feel as overwhelming
Yup but the problem with that is that it makes it easier for speculative youtubers to create coherent narratives with the OC to fill in stuff we simply can't know. That, in turn, leads to obnoxious posters criticising From for breaking with the lore, when what they're actually mad about is Vaati's made up drivel being just that.
I don't even pay attention to 99% of the opinions, stances, takes, viewpoints, rhetoric or narratives of people here what makes you think I'd do it for Youtubers, redditors and bots?
Lolwut? Dark souls has a simple and completely linear plot, meamwhile people can't even agree on who caused the shattering, when, and why
What's making your Nox Mirrorhelm (or Iji's Mirrorhelm) glow red like that?
light shaders and time of day in whatever place you are at
idk it tends to have a kind of pink hue all the time iirc. i think the lighting there just makes it stand out more.
Snake Sexo
Where is the snake sexo dlc I made up in my head!?
Soon™
Thank you Miyazaki™
in a away, me.
it's zanzibart
After Rebirth and before Dogma 2, I will finally return to ER. What will be your weapon of chose lads?
Fallingstar Beast Jaw all day every day in ever dimension
Is that supposed to be Miquellas voice that tells you to touch the withered arm?
>Travel to the shadow lands. I will not be far behind.
Miquella will take Melina's place as our 'maiden'. Calling it now.
That would be hot.
>The shadow of the erdtree was the first place Marika came from
she is literally the prostitute of Elden Ring everywhere she went she spread her prostitute legs and birthed demons and deformed creatures, she was guided by the greater will to create grace born childrren
Secret Shard Bearer
Miquella
So where the frick is Godwyn's part in all of this? I honestly believe we've only seen either like half of the DLC and considering they said "Trailer 1" the second might be more about Godwyn and Deathroot in general?
Thoughts?
The initial trailer for the Ringed City did not contain Midir or Gael at all.
good point
Yeah he should be in this expansion but they haven't hinted anything at him yet
Unless he has his own DLC, he should be in there somewhere. Godwyn is more relevant to the plot than Micky is anyway. Miquella is just hyped up because of his connection to two secret bosses.
Miquella is hyped up because he's a "femboy" so twittergays can go nuts on porn
Steve, from accounting
Just realized melina is at the start of the trailer where mohgs room is, she follows you
wat
no
that's St. Trina
we'll see
Could be Marika but what's with the circle on the hand and an arrow on Messmer?
she has the classic pregnant pose.
she's pregnant with Messmer or whatever he's called
Possible or maybe Marika swapped with Radagon when she went there which would make him Radagon's son, brother or something like that.
Ranni and Miquella both had to shed their physical bodies to escape the the Golden Order but since Marika was basically a God, maybe she could do some special magics and split her soul or something.
It would make sense for Miquella to know about the whole shadow realm since he was the son of Radagon and Marika
there is no either or. Radagon and Marika are numerically identical
>Radagon and Marika are numerically identical
what?
Nameless King 2.0
So, Messmer is either
>the moniker of a young Rykard
>the corrupted memory of Rykard in the shadow world as Miquella remembers them
>the son of Rykard and the kinky lady from Gelmir
>the son of ??? and Marika
>the son of ??? and ???
the land of shadow is an actual physical place that was shunted apart from the lands between, it's not an alternate timeline/reality or the past
it's probably the missing landmass that formed the land bridge between caelid and mountaintops
Demigod that was written out of history for joining the Dragon Cult or founding it
*Dragon Communion
Dragon cult was founded by Godwyn (probably) and was generally tolerated
>The worship of the ancient dragons does not conflict with belief in the Erdtree.
It is almost always referred to as "the capital's Dragon cult" so they where practicing in the capital and Marika didn't do shit so I don't think that's it.
He's a son of Marika. As explicitly stated by Miyazaki.
i don't see any relation with Rykard other than a snake
Snake and blasphemy magic, though if related to Marika it’s most likely Dragon Cult magic, which might make the old impaled guy the Elden Lord of the dragons that disappeared (to the shadow lands), guessing he’ll pull the sword out of himself and turn into dragon or some shit
none of these, he is a son of Marika ruling in the Realm of Shadows, where Marika herself became an Empyrean, so there's a lot of Crucible related enemies and culture, and we might even get more about the 2/3 Fingers too
other theories
>son of miquella and formless mother
>son of miquella and mohg
>corrupted alter ego of miquella in his dream world
Anyone you want because the lore is shit
I yawned watching thr trailer
I'm definitely burnout on souls stuff and nonsensical shit plots. See you in a couple years, I'm gonna pass this time
Frick that shit. I want my Ranni DLC. I would even be content with a Rykard or frenzied flame continuation.
Reminder that homosexual end is canon
So he tricked mohg with his fake soulless corpse and ran away to get some tarnished dick while abandoning his sick sister
what a silly little b***h brat
To be fair there's literally frick all anyone can do for malenia that isn't murder her cheating rotting ass.
miquella's gold needle was working fine, malenia broke it herself with radahn, she didn't bloom against her will, she nuked caelid then ruined the haligtree by choice, she couldn't be cured but she definitely can be helped except she doesn't want the help
Who the frick is Miquella's promised lord?
me
(You)
pic rel was dancing with the blades, we know tanith used to be a dancer or something, I hope we get some proper resolution to her since last time we saw her she was fricking eating rykard. Patches has that whole thing of "give tanith this important item please" and yet nothing happens afterwards
>honestly believing any of the lands between characters will be connected to the dlc map
kinda envy of your optimism tbh
The next event of her quest is straight-up empty because they never finished it.
why does the game look so fricking ass in the trailer? straight outta ps3
The game was created in 2017 my dude.
That was 7 years ago.
Is the wing sword at the end of the trailer the abundance and decay twinblade?
>doesnt take place post game
>no marriage with Melina ending
Dropped
THE TWO HALVES OH FRICK SHIT FRICK
Marika entered this Shadow Land, and became a god here. If that means literal, or metaphorically it's up in the air right now.
This could be were she killed the Fell God, and became the the de-facto god and started the Golden Order.
It's the center of the open world map where the Divine Towers converge
I can see the lack of hyper armor from here.
kino
Some people think the erdtree isn't an illusion that wasn't already burned, yet I can see the moon through the tree. Care to explain yourselves? It's not real. It's a spiritual tree, its the idea of the tree. It's the immortality magic from the tree or the golden shards or the greater will or whatever.
Reminder Tarnished Archaeologist was right about literally everything
who is that? some other lore youtuber to challenge the reddit vaati vidya? I have not watched him.
Yes a lore youtuber but instead of just reading item descriptions word for word like everyone else does he looks at the visual details of the world and comes up with new theories and he’s literally always correct
wow he is just like me
I look at where items are found and think about the environment they are found in
I wouldn't say he's always correct.
Anything to do with the endings is purely speculation as you can't really know for certain because the game ends there.
indeed, but as I have shown, some speculations are better than others.
speculation about shit that doesn't exist nor will ever exist outside of some youtube video
Of course, inherently everything that's not explicitly stated (and even things that are explicitly stated, thanks to lying/being wrong/etc) is speculation to some degree.
So literally everything is speculation based on mistranslations
If you want to be a pedantic shitposter, yeah.
Take your meds
why? which part of my post do you disagree with?
of course goldmasks rune removes free will are you moronic thats literally why referred to as "Perfect" you cant have perfection in regards to free will because irrational emotion can make you do irrational things, who'd have thought? its also why it literally refers to the Gods "Fickleness" because even THEY arent "Perfect" they are still held back by their emotions and their vanities its why it literally states they are "No different than men" even though they are "Gods"
Also, don't be so angry that you call me a moron
what the frick do you think "Perfect Order" implies you bumbling idiot? free will literally invites chaos it is the opposite of perfect order
>im moronic
>i have no argument
i accept your concession.
You still haven't explained all the prior mentions of fate in the game which imply that it is already a real thing.
>just like it's not real in real life
Elden Ring is not real life. You are essentially just stuffing your ears at this point and being obnoxious. I won't bother replying anymore.
fate is literally not real in the sense we know it fate is literally just what an outer god wills
>fate is literally not real in the sense we know it
It is heavily implied that the stars dictate fate, aka astrology.
>fate is literally just what an outer god wills
prove it.
Both are bullshit. Stars and kami act on the world through physical action, not "fate"
>Both are bullshit. Stars and kami act on the world through physical action, not "fate"
>stars control people's lives and dictate them
>item description says that stars control our fates.
>but that's not muh fate!
why is this really such an issue? I meanm, I know a lot of people who tend to get very agitated when the topic of determinism springs up but we're not even talking about whether it's a real world thing. we're talking about a video game whose influences come from guys who have more than likely read the Illiad at least once.
>fromsoft lore
>illiad
lmao
what's funny? The Illiad?
Wrong, the lore came from a fat guy who sat around trying to frick used up German pornstars and was more likely to ask the question like What was Agememmnon's tax policy than read the Illiad
nothing about the game has anything to do with grrm besides the names of the bosses.
It's all his lore that Miyazaki continued to just vague post around through item descriptions. Cope.
GRRM is a cuck?
I would literally bet my life-savings that GRRM has read the Illiad at least once and I'll send you an invoice when you are ready to pay
>People like you acting like the game is way more abstract than it is detract from its actual story and themes.
In fact most From games are specifically about denying or defying the "inevitable"
>Have you read the Illiad?
Fate is the weakest aspect of the Illiad and indeed ALL stories rooted in Greek and Roman mythology. Also focusing on it detracts from the actual tragedy and lessons of the siege of Troy.
>You suggest characters are not making rational choices and that their decisions and words cannot be meaningfully evaluated as representing their actual motivation and character.
None of this makes a story more abstract and only implies that motivationand character are predetermined.
>In fact most From games are specifically about denying or defying the "inevitable"
And just like them, the people and gods in elden ring do too.
>stars control people's lives and dictate them
They don't. It's bullshit. People do. The stars are up there. They can't do shit unless they come down, and if they do I'll kick their asses. Fat and determinism are nothing morevthan excuses to try to justify acting like a gay.
Listen man. I am talking about the video game not real life. Yeah, the stars cannot hurt you. Glintstone sorceries and faith incantations also aren't real. In fact, GW is prob a spook. This is ridiculous.
You're moronic. Magic is real in elden ring. I can wave my hands and you catch on fricking fire. Fate isn't real.
>I won't bother replying anymore
Because you have no argument. 6 fricking endings and you think fate is real.
>Because you have no argument
My man, you are free to read my posts again until. I have plenty of arguments. all you have, however, are weird headcanons and trying to impose your real world beliefs on the world of a video game. the number of endings do not change anything except show that this is a game that you can play again and again for fun. In all cases, the best you can do is ignore all the talks of fate in the game and pretend it doesn't exist.
You also act as if this is a personal matter to you for some reason.
I am not ignoring talks of fate. I am saying they are brazenly bullshit. Just like when people talk about "fate" in real life. It's used to describe what we want to happen, or think is inevitable. It's not a real force, as you are free to make wildly different choices.
>You also act as if this is a personal matter to you for some reason.
It's extremely fricking annoying. People like you acting like the game is way more abstract than it is detract from its actual story and themes. Most From games are actually pretty fricking humanist and cynical regardless of the bombastic dressing of their settings. And trying to undermine the agency of the characters detracts from the general public's perception of the narrative quality.
not him but good lord you are an obnoxious sperg. I feel bad for people who have to deal with you IRL.
You are buttfrick moronic. Goldmask's rune removes the need for demigods and makes the elden ring immutable. That's it. It's also just a brazen metaphor for the protestant revolution.
there is no reason for dewmigods to exist in the first place, they don't actually do anything
Exactly. We should just worship God, not big trees, or whatever stupid bint put the elden ring inside her body this era.
The elden ring isn't inside marika either, the ending of the game isn't really canon, it's a rushed non ending like ME3
>The elden ring isn't inside marika either
You can physically see it inside her. It's also why all her kids are fricked up.
>the ending of the game isn't really canon,
Schizo moron
>You can physically see it inside her
yeah that's not the elden ring
It's literally the shit on the box art
right, there's two symbols on the box art, one is the elden ring and one is the golden order. Fromsoft cut this in the rushed ending
The other symbol is Radagon's trellis. It's in the game, it's the "thorns", and most of his magic has it.
Nah there's two symbols in the elden ring, one is the golden order and the other is the elden ring. This was cut in fromsoft's rushed ending.
No it isn't and no it wasn't, discord troony
Yes there's two symbols in the box art, in the base game box art part of the elden ring is broken, the part that was broken by marika, the bottom part. The part that manifests during radagon's bossfight
Vyke or whoever (who was mostly cut) is at the bottom where the broken piece is prostrating
It's one symbol and always has been, and trying to cover it with a pretzel won't change that. Did you even mean to post that?
>It's one symbol
there's two symbols on the box art, the ending is rushed and it's why all you do is sit in a chair. There's literally no plot resolution at all in all of elden ring
Discord troony.
>I can't cope with the game being unfinished
lol
I think he meant gods. Marika is a god. The entire Golden Order is predicated on her being the one true god.
Marika is a demigod. Or really even just a sorceress who stuck a reall, really strong magic artifact in her pussy. Non-fundamentalist golden order is a cargo cult for blind morons. The Greater Will is God.
ok, why call her even a demigod? If you want to argue semantics then fine, but you cannot deny that people in the world consider her to be the one true god, which was my point. I'm not talking about your headcanon or language.
Of course people do. They're wrong. It's a main plot point
Maybe not. Maybe she is by definition the one true god according to them. And she is chosen by Will if the fingers are anything to go by. Let's not get into headcanons and stick to actual sources.
oh yeah. The fingerreader, the girl who interprets the fingers, explicitly calls Marika "a god in truth"
>Maybe she is by definition the one true god according to them.
They are morons who worship a tree. It's not headcanon that they're morons. The game even makes fun of them for having to rewrite scripture after the minot erdtrees started growing
>And she is chosen by Will if the fingers are anything to go by.
They are actively recruiting successors
>They are morons who worship a tree.
a very powerful tree with boons.
>It's not headcanon that they're morons
it is I'm afraid as you have no evidence except screeching.
>The game even makes fun of them for having to rewrite scripture after the minot erdtrees started growing
what scripture are you talking about?
>They are actively recruiting successors
yeah? and mr Will accepts them with open arms if Marika is anything to go by.
I'm the guy he replied to. We don't even know that. There can be no clear conclusion drawn from purely empirical grounds, like with so many other things in this game. We can however reasonably infer that the game already has some sense of predetermined fate considering all the prophecies and talks of fate, especially regarding that one guy who lost his daughter.
>We can however reasonably infer that the game already has some sense of predetermined fate
lmao
Listen, if you want to reject it then that's fine but you should at least explain why. The entire plot of the game is basically a prophecy. People speak about fate as if they are in the illiad. At the very least, the belief in fate is unanimous. And the fact that Ranni talks about her fate as if its a real thing implies this.
If this is the case, then there would be no free will for Goldmask to remove.
>The entire plot of the game
what plot
the tarnished returning and one of them being crowned elden lord, as well as the burning of the tree. It was all foreseen, and in all endings you do become elden lord.
oh yeah I think I remember sitting in a chair
>The entire plot of the game is basically a prophecy
It's a morrowind "prophecy", IE, a set of instructions. Also Ranni is a hyperdependent idiot. Her idea of "fate" is just an excuse for her actions, and increasingly, her inaction.
>It's a morrowind "prophecy", IE, a set of instructions
ok, can you prove this? There is no point where you kill a person that prevents you from completing the instructions. no matter what you do, unless you stop playing, you will become the elden lord. Also, it isn't just Ranni's idea of fate but everyone in the game. You're not being serious.
Also you totally can tell the prophecy to go frick itself and inter the frenzied flame.
>and inter the frenzied flame.
Indeed. I'm the guy who said that there's nothing indicating that Goldmask's rune removes free will or has anything to do with fate explicitly as it is not mentioned and the whole game already implies that fate is already a real thing meaning there would be no free will to remove. Were you paying attention?
You've literally never played the game, please leave. that or your 3rd grade reading comprehension is severely holding you back and im sorry.
>I can't think of even a single counter to what you said, but if I'm rude and dismissive enough maybe he'll doubt himself
You are a womanbrain moron
It's just a unconfirmed theory but the trailer and information revealed hints that miquella is now a woman, his EN voice actor is female and he is waiting for his lord.
>and information revealed hints that miquella is now a woman
did it?
He always was hinted to be a troony, the question was if it was like marika/radagon or something else.
>his
Surely this will stop the the stupid trend of morons calling miquella they... right?
and when the elden ring was shattered it spread its little seeds around and sprouted illusion-trees.
That would be an interesting parallel to Anor Londo, with Gwyndolin positioned similarly to Miquella. This would make placing the lordvessel similar to burning the thorns preventing us from entering the erdtree.
indeed. as it says in the item description of the memory of grace, it is merely a cycle. other elden lords have taken the throne, but has anything really changed?
>the erdtree is an illusion
>that's why it functions as a completely solid and impregnable fortress until you hit it with both the fel flames of ruin AND destined death
Fricking morons.
Margit is an illusion too but hell still bash your head in. golden too. theres precedent, and clear evidence that the tree already burned.
>Why does burning that illusion cause Leyendell to be destroyed by an avalanche of ash?
why does margit die when we hit him
The "cardinal sin" is something yet to come (which you and Melina make real).
They are in the spiritual spot, attached to it.
or you know fromsoft has never ever gotten NPC continuity right and they teleport everywhere all the time for no reason
>The roundtable hold was in the shadow realm all this time
i believe it
It was in my ass sorry for bad smell
I mean it's quite literally off the map, and can only be teleported into or out of.
The part where you enter the Erdtree isn’t an illusion, it’s the husk of the original burnt tree. You can see a colour change where the original bark meets the illusory gold.
schizo
Open your eyes and look at it moron
Spellblade chads. . . Our new sword spells???
myrmidon of loss
So is Messmer gonna be more like these b***hes or wors?
Gael 2.0
Messmer is just goddrick on crack
GEQ will be the OP special snowflake dlc boss lady
Lady Maria was piss easy
Worse like slashing Wolverine without mcguffins made to kill wolverine
Oh that's the golden garb guy from tower of latria
he should be a weapon, like an axe or something. hilt is the top part and the pointy parts coming out of his sides are the parts that hit.
reminder that elden ring has kernel level anticheat like vanguard
who asked discord troon?
I just think is strange to me most people also love playing ER despite hating on anticheats like Denuvo
even the cracked version?
>they think mesmar will be the ass rape boss
Latest dlc trailers showed straight the final boss hell even vanilla final boss was shown in teaser
mesmer is radahn or maybe fricking godfrey at best
Fashion is pretty good.
Desert Sorceress vibes.
Yeeep.
>desert sorceress
>bone fist
elden ring truly the successor of ds2
>Adds fast, snappy martial arts
>muh bonefists
moron
>bonefists knonw for it's snappy martial arts
>it's not the bone fist
the gall of this double discord Black person
known for it's snappy martial arts
>fricking worthless slow attacks
>snappy
?si=TNIA2uuahX36iFCL
almost gave a (You)
>this is worthless slow attacks
you have being brain roted by your hrt you discord trannie
Not him but he's right, you shouldn't compare it to ds2 bone fist just because it's a souls game, elden ring borrows from every other fromsoft game not just the souls ones, the reverse grip blade we see in this trailer looks like it'll be a connected rakuyo like trick weapon in bloodborne, and the kicks is obviously borrowing from sekiros "senpou style", it's pretty fricking different to bone fists
They re still souls games DUH
he's not holding a weapon, it's a vanquisher seal
I can finally perfect my Onikage build and kick everything to death!
Red dancer charm, maybe?
Is he Malenia's blade master?
Just some dude with zero equipment weight who came and styled on a bunch of motherfrickers.
SEX WITH RED DANCER'S ARMPITS
OH SHIT ITS THE BLUE DANCER BUT RED
Someone explain what the shadow lands are? How could Marika set foot in these lands if it exists inside Miquella's dreams?
Morgott true form without omen HRT
At first I thought this dude got the Elden Beast grab attack treatment but thats clearly not it.
The most important question for my fellow str + faith users. Will you change Blasphemous blade to Messmer's Blasphemous spear once the dlc hits?
Sticking to the Godslayer's Greatsword unless the mad lands somehow manage to top that weapon.
>Godslayer's Greatsword
speaking of which i hope the dlc adds something in the area where you get that sword
I'm prepping a character to take into the DLC. Should I do a STR/INT build with the moonlight greatsword, or is there a STR/FAITH build with similar versatility? I want to break away from my old DEX habits.
Str/Fth is literally the most versatile build. Faith gets access to everything and the Str/Fth spells are awesome and deal physical damage.
also, the answer to your question OP is that that guy is clearly the dude from the painting in the same trailer.
Trailer had 2 million views in 2 hours, now its at almost 3 million in 3 hours.
they really tapped the soulless chink audience
More people than just you watched the trailer.
zanzibart the forgotten
The interesting thing about fan theories is that they're always wrong.
probably because fromsoft isn't even self referencing their lore when they make dlc, they literally just make shit up
which implies that fans can never know the lore of the game.
They fgot 4 months to read all this shcizo shit anw change it KEK they did that to base game in less than 1 month
a fan theory predicted the very first Souls DLC would be in Oolacile lmao
We predicted first guess that dlc will be miquella hand entry
>we predicted that the dlc was going to be about the character on the DLC teaser art
whoa
NTA but it was glaringly obvious that Miquella was DLC bait for years
yeah huh
People predicted it before the teaser.
Sure
Man Ganker's discussion quality just gets worse and worse huh?
Who the frick are you people? How did you get here? Why are you dedicating your lives to making this board worse? I just don't get it. You deserve death.
Take your queer YouTube theories elsewhere then
>DLC does NOT unlock any changes to the main game's story. DLC story is completely independent.
Miquella ending bros….we fricking lost…he’s the final boss….
all of fromsoft's dlcs are pointless sidequests
There's no reason to think that the DLC won't end with his corpse holding a new mending rune.
Who's the Snake guy meant to be?
debate is happening. i think its a brother of malenia and miquella. refers to marika as "mother," red hair, "M" name, and a fire theme that clicks perfectly with the butterfly - twin connection.
Neat, I guess he'll be the final boss instead of Miquella.
doubt it, they never show their hand like that. he'll probably be the first milestone. my moneys still of godwyn
fromsoft never has reoccurring characters in their DLCs, except for that one time in DS3 where a literal who became the Dark Souls
Wanna watch ashes of ariandel trailer and ringed city? Also eleden cringe first trailer?
ringed city doesnt show Gael and Ariendelle only has 2 fricking bosses, they had to show something. besides this is more like artorias or old hunters, neither of which showed the final encounter. what are you even trying to say to me?
It showed ariandel flypping for 1 sec and Gael and the sand arena
It's true that the smoldering butterflies have no one associated with them yet
He's the Yella King
Frick you u b***h you never caught him
OH N
This frickin 3second scene is more detailed than the rest of the trailer. Fck is happening
its a boss intro or phase transition cutscene
Sure, fromsoft does ingame cutscenes, but this looks far more detailed than any cutscenes in the base game.
Literally me.
Radagon is the coolest guy, if you disagree you're gay.
>T.gay
It's got spikes on either end of it.
its new weapon type already confirmed. not to my tastes but looks very neat.
Also has the crucible knight gay wings as spell
it's a dueling shield
Thats a dumb weapon
that's fricking awesome
>Mimic +10
>Moonlight katana
Yep it's gaming time
I wonder if they'll disallow ashes for the expansion.
>in the shadowlands you can use ashes everywhere
They'll double down.
>astrologer set says astrologer's are the heir to glintstone sorceror's
>Sword of night and flame says astrologer's preceded sorceror's
Which is it? Are they shitty nu-sorceror's or ancient magic proto-sorceror's?
fromsoft doesn't know, interns write the item descriptions
The mountaintops astrologers were the progenitors of glintstone sorcery, and modern astrologers are their heirs.
Use your brain.
Proof?
imagine caring about elden ring lore lmfao
looooooser
I'm getting strong DS vibes from these designs
Everything shown here look ten times cooler than anything in the base game. Will this DLC save Elden Ring?
Zanzibart?
EDDIE
If i didn't know this was Eddie i'd think it was the cover of some 90's metal head releasing a drum and base album.
that's gotta hurt!
Is he canonically the strongest starting class?
He is the tree dude
DEEPEST LORE
So where is the dlc supposed to take place? or when?
it's literally "a dream"
God, I hope they add some way to frick over Ranni. I can't stand that smug treacherous b***h.
>everyone saying this is Miquellas "dream".
All the interviews with Miyazaki are explicitly saying this is an area that actually exists in a different plane but in the same space as the lands between. It's not just a dream world, the characters there are all real and inhabit that space. It's also been all but confirmed Messmer is a 4th child of Marika/Radagon.
But Miquellas literally says "Touch my withered arm(in the egg) and enter the dream".
Ah yes that random gay statue like gwyn redacted son in a roor catacomb of my ass
Third. Melina is not Radagon's and Marika's child.
According to all naming conventions in the game, and other hints like the butterflies she is.
Ohh but she is. She is the oldest daughter that rebelled ages ago and became the Gloam Eyed Queen before Marika had Maliketh put her down.
Well that would make her Marika's daughter but not Radagon's, since he didn't exist yet.
>spike in head
Venom mikella
>trying to make sense of any of this trash plot crumbs instead of just bopping strong dudes
AND IN THIS CONSTELLATION WE HAVE
THE CRUSADES
Who fricking cares? If you bought this fromtroony shit you need a .12 gauge lobotomy.
Boy better sell shotguns or do them a favor
>the dlc will feature the first trans character from has ever done
what??
7 days before pride day its not coincidence
Never forget that we were right you fromtroony wienersuckers.
>DLC doesn't add any new endings
Unironically really disappointing. The endings in the main game all suck.
>invaded by Milicent in the swamp
>Milicent has died
>Kill guy in the swamp, get needle, talk to gawdry in the shack
>run up the hill to the church
>talk to Milicent
yeah guys the spirits you fight that are glowing are totally not an illusion or anything like that see through golden tree
You people will never be happy in life. That being said, I'M HYPE AS FRICK LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE SALT WILL RUN THROUGH OUR VEINS
