I have a brilliant idea- why don't we gacchavize what missiles and bombs are available to a F-22 and other planes? You'd usually have to do with the Aim missiles from 80s with a range of 20 km's, and if you want to use something better your commander has to roll a gaccha that's owned by a conglomerate of all defence corpos of the world until he hits what he needs- like a Harm missile or Aim 120. Of course his budget is limited- if he fails to he'll have to do with jury rigged R-77s (which are SRs) to a Raptor. And the way it will work is that the aircraft carrier or base will have stockpiles of ammo but they can only be used when the missile's/bomb's internal computer thats also hooked to the global defence corpo's database gets a code that verifies it is authorized for use- if it doesn't have that code it will be a dud even if launched. And also have Denuvo drm protect the missile codes from being intercepted or hacked or cracked to maximize profit. And also no "bulk rolling" by rich countries to ensure they have ammo at the ready.

I unironically find Kaiba to be incredibly cool. Not in the internet, ironic, way of "it's cool cause it's dumb" or because blah blah autism. I just find him to be genuinely an awesome, borderline inspiring, character. Or at least to the extent that he is allowed to be considering he's a rival character.
Kaiba's the only character I've ever seen that can wear an oversized jacket covered in studs and unnecessary flairs and not only completely rock it but have the personality to actually back it up. There's a difference between an accent for a character and puns galore and outright mentioning their hair in a monologue and having a strong character with a goofy voice, and this is all in YGO no less. Atleast in the manga, they did end things for him at Battle City but the anime staff rode Kaiba's dick too hard along with the fandom so they had two original arcs with him as a main focus and even pushed him into the final arc that he wasn't supposed to appear in.

Rewatching the show now and he comes across as way more justified than I remembered. People like to make it out like he just wanted to win, but the whole point of the duel was that winning it was his only chance to duel Pegasus and save his brother. He didn't pull a cheap stunt just to get a win, he was literally putting his life on the line because losing the duel meant losing his brother. If he was happy about that win then he wouldn't have set up an entire city tournament just to get the rematch.

It was more about him wanting to collect the other god cards and become the strongest duelist in the world. Beating Yugi was just a thing on the side until Yugi obtained Osiris and then became a target for Kaiba.
You know the really funny part, in the manga Kaiba had negate attack in his hand and the rules they were playing by treated all cards in your hand as live, he didn’t even need to threaten suicide to win he just did it
Kaiba also passed his turn for no reason when he had Yugi on the ropes (and he did the same when Yugi Exodia'd him). He could have won if he put out some cards but he purposefully did nothing and let Yugi bring out a monster to defend. He didn't even draw a card.

Correct. In the manga it's a lot easier to follow what kind of moon logic is going on. Basically they're playing a variant where your field is also your hand. So you can literally 'attack' a card in your opponents hand

I've noticed that with battle shonen in general, the manga is always better because all the lengthy autistic descriptions and reaction shots of everything can just get put into a single panel.
DK had some very contrived rules that highly differs from the current ones.
For example, you could only attack an opponent monster. So no direct attack are allowed. On the other hand, if you don't summon a monster per turn, you lose.
That duel doesn't even use the usual DK rules, it had its own rules that are only relevant for duels with that prototype duel disk. You only draw cards if one of the 5 cards that are on the field(the active monster + 4 backup cards) are used up or destroyed, but multiple cards were used up/destroyed, you can draw multiple cards until you have 5 cards.
Anime DK had to deal with adapting a manga that still treated the cards like traditional RPG figures that could be used in whatever sort of game the players set up with advertising a TCG that actually existed and had set rules by that point.

Contact Fusion didn't really work out. The problem was that at the time, searches and special summons were still in their infancy so in spite of Contact Fusion's purpose to expand on Fusion Summoning and make it more versatile, it actually had the opposite effect and ended up being too limiting and inconvenient. It also didn't help that back then, the majority of Contact Fusion component Monsters were really, REALLY fricking shit. Synchro and Xyz were built off the back of Contact Fusion while also being much better all around.
Unfortunately, thanks to the existence of Synchro and Xyz, Contact Fusion became obsolete.

Megaliths are....forgotten. Nouvelles are funny but dont work against a single person who knows how to read.
Nekroz is still kinda good hilariously enough solely because of Unicore but can still be easily ousted and is no better than other anti-ED decks like Monarch.

The Main Character got kidnap as a kid, forced to play duel monster for months. If he lose, he get electrical shock. This ultimately made him one of the most powerful duelist in the entire franchise (other and losing hundreds of times as a kid, he never lost a battle afterward) but at a cost of his childhood and social ability.
