But in a casual environment playing the meta intentionally and not because you just like the character and they turned out to be meta is a bit silly. Problem is that as time passes more and more people treat the casual setting as a serious competitive one.
After you beat everyone you can go one of two ways, merciless noobslayer or troll. At high levels the bar for what constitutes a troll is considerably lower.
Casuals in a competitive game? Spit roast them. TK them, ban them from the lobby
I don't know about you but every time I try a competitive game that i know nothing about and I pick whichever character seems the coolest to me it always ends up being one of the shittiest after i look up the tier chart, and the top tiers are always boring looking characters like a generic ninja or coombait #1000
