Probably mainline. They've released all shiny forms of mythicals first so far, even if they were limited, restricted release or pre gen 5.

Which was the last shiny Mythical that they just handed over? The Korean shiny Diancie isn't it? I'll assume they will follow the same route:
Gift the unlocked shiny at a mainline game (serial code or universal code) and then release it as a paid ticket in GO. I'm fine with them following this pattern if they keep stashing non-shiny mythicals on cart, even if it requires other Pokemon games's save data; ideally a PLA to BSDP situation so we can shiny hunt them at our leisure
they should just remove the shiny lock in the next Unova games
