I am surprised they could make RF5 in the first place, after being shut-down post RF4 (despite decent sales). The whole RF4 fan-room (with fan art and dev commentary) was also both heart-warming and sad.
If they wanted my money they should've added what mattered.

Honestly, I was only choosing 5 because it seemed like the latest entry would have the least time limits and I really like the wolf girl + succubus options. I like to have a single comfy game to just mindlessly plod away at in my spare time without worrying about anything in it, is 4 just comfy grinding I can forever harvest turnips or something in to raise my levels and not have to worry about constantly attending town events?
I've always had enough time to do whatever, and game mentions you can ignore everything to just focus on farming... but that's not exactly true as playing the story and combat sections unlocks more of the farming equipment, animals, and just general variety of content.
Events and festivals are fairly skippable, and tend to be short enough that it's not a long distraction from general farming.

It was made in Unity so modding will be very easy. The only question is if there'll be enough interest.
I plan to attempt a Gideon/Ares model swap as that should theoretically be quite easy as long as the skeletons match up.

How exactly does party AI work in RF4? If I bring an ally they impotently stand there and attempt an attack once every millenium. I just ended up bringing Clorica because every now and again I can dodge the food she throws at me, and then I get a free dish worth billions I can sell.
