IMO greninja best fit the sleepy, gothic style of Kalos more than either of the other starters. I have a sort of imaginary scene in my head of my trainer vibing in a cafe while eating macaroons and sipping coffee, with greninja equally chill and squatting next to him, meditating for it’s next battle.

Bears can walk while using their claws because their claws are directly attached to the ends of their limbs. They're not handheld tools it needs to manually pull out, you fricking moron.

Clearly you've never seen how a bear uses its claws. It temporarily doesn't use its front paws for walking you fricking moron. It lunges, and that is not a problem. Just like with Samurott, it can run quadrupedally (ignoring the bipedalism it's capable of for a second) and lunge, quickly slashing with its sword, and return it to its sheathe and keep running with that arm in one smooth motion. It being handheld doesn't diminish its ability to do anything

How is this relevant? I said if a raccoon evolved into the human niche. It already uses tools. Humans are the only war-waging species with tools anyway, so you're just relying on it being the only possible way to do so because it's the only example that we have. You're not actually explaining how it's only possible like that. There could have easily evolved a different body plan that can fight quadrupedaly, and it would probably look like a mixed locomotor like Samurott. However, it wouldn't be limited by only having a handful of game animations. You have no idea how animals move. What I think anon is trying to get at is that animal speed and bendability is totally misunderstood by humans. You'd know this if you spent time near wildlife. Try turning your head as fast as a squirrel can. You fricking can't. Assume for a second Samurott were real. He'd be as fast as a bear when he actually moves, as he has that type of proportion instead of IRL Sea Lions. Look up hairless bears, and you'd screech "NOOO THAT CAN'T STAND EITHER" when it objectively can already and could easily evolve to do it more reliably+easily+speedily if it were Samurott. This whole notion that Samurott goes against biology has always been so fricking absurd to me and would imply most IRL predatory animals would be extinct by now due to innefficiency. Bears move insanely fast and Samurott could too.
