It’s pretty bad gameplay-wise. Missions are 90% stalk and eavesdrop shit. Boats are fun but it’s quite shallow just sail around and blow shit up. It’s a 6/10 pirate game that’s brought way down by being shoehorned into an AC game. I actually thought Unity was okay too, 7/10 for that one.
I'd call it a diamond in the rough and it does have some pretty rough edges.
I liked the ship combat more by not or only barely upgrading swivel/mortar cannons, which makes them more fun to use, in my opinion.
Hand to hand combat is easy, but fun, with a lot of animation variety depending on your inputs. I recommend to pull as many guards as you can find and just enjoy the spectacle as you block, parry and counter every blow.
While the story goes pretty off the rails eventually, the characters are more interesting and it helps if you're a bit familiar with the historical caribbean background.
The assassin parts are pretty mediocre, with the trailing missions being the worst part. Also parkour doesn't really feel good.
The parts outside the animus are also quite hit and miss, usually taking you out of the experience and I say this as someone who didn't mind them that much.
Tried replaying it and my god every single thing about it beside the boating is unbearably boring, how I had the patience for how shit the normal combat and trailing missions for 90% of the game years ago is beyond me. Must've been a game drought when I played it or something. Also mortars are busted and break the ship gameplay too easily.
I think the only one I could realistically go back and play now and not want to blow my brains out would probably be Unity simply because it probably had the smoothest free running and parkour in the series.
NINE ASSASSIN'S CREED GAMES ARE CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT

Because they know that it's the only asscreed that anyone cares enough to buy a remake of, and they are desperate to get people to forget about their move to take away the idea of owning a game.
Because they’re bereft of all creativity and can only sustain themselves with what people already know. They’ve followed the film industry in every way possible.
It may be over a decade old but I wouldn't say it's aged all that much. Or rather israelitebisoft have't evolved for shit since so what's the point? Prettier graphics`?
It's one of the few Assassin Creed games people like and like everyone in video games and Hollywood, a remake is usually a safe bet more than a gamble most times.
economic downturn and the need to frick people in the ass isn't paying like it use to
Its the only AC game that is actually worth playing
The only AC game worth playing is the original
The original is rough, 2 is when it hit its stride
It absolutely is not.
It absolutely is. Everything after that is faceroll ubislop in terms of gameplay
I like Unity. I haven't try Black Flag since my PC was dogshit when Ubisoft gave it away.
How good is it?

Ubsifot needs a game to compete with Palworld.
So morons can rent it on Ubisoft+ forever

Wasn't Infinity that VR shit they showcased that would be like a best of with missions from all games?
Would probably be the perfect game if it didn't have the gay assasins creed brand slapped over it and was just purely about pirates.
Because they know that it's the only asscreed that anyone cares enough to buy a remake of, and they are desperate to get people to forget about their move to take away the idea of owning a game.
What's the difference with other asscreed, it's the same side activity galore and slowly walking cutscene
You get a boat, and do pirate shit. If they could just drop all the asscreed shit, they'd have a solid game on their hands.
Remake III instead
not enough progressive + excuse to stop selling the old one
>ubeslop

How many more steps are left before thet just flat-out say that Skull And Bones was just an overly elaborate way to scam the Singapore government?
Because the original doesn't have enough microtransactions to please upper management
My prediction is the modern day section is completely gone and the remake is entirely Edward. Zero modern day at all.
And edward is actually a freed black female slave
No they literally already have Adéwalé for that
Wouldn't that completely mess up the story, considering how interlinked it is in the last third or so? Not that I cared much about the meta plot.

>remaking black gay
>not giving haytham kenway a game
Remake Far Cry 2 you bastards, and don't make it like the new Far Cry games, make it the immersive hardcore survival shooter it was meant to be
why make new when you have no creativity or skill
It's one of the few Assassin Creed games people like and like everyone in video games and Hollywood, a remake is usually a safe bet more than a gamble most times.
They’ll make everything shit but take away the tailing missions and that’s what all the fanboys and shills will scream about when it comes out.
