Whoever made the clip must have clipped this way on purpose so you cant see him using it a few seconds before.

Watch the clip and look at the minimap the entire time, then watch the clip again and you'll realize that the player he tries to shoot thru the wall at 5 second mark never showed up on the minimap at any time. Shroud had no indication that player was there, but still turned and shoot at him thru a wall right where the player was standing.

I think shroud is very skilled at FPS games; there were a number of occasions where he played a brand new game and was doing great.
That said, I can believe that he also uses hacks, just like this clip shows. But he's skilled enough where it's genuinely hard to tell.

For example, in some pregame lobby he was running around and then suddenly pulled a 180 and snapped to the head of someone across the map, wiggled his mouse and it whipped him around and locked onto ANOTHER player's head from across the map, then did it a 3rd time in quick succession - all without having any vision of these people. What are the odds of doing something like that accidentally? Snapping your cursor to someone's head, tracking it for a few moments then doing it 2 more times? Some of it is just unreal.

If you want to reduce the number of cheaters, you have to be harsher with the penalties, hardware bans, doxxing, publicly humiliating the cheaters, make it so that to-be cheaters will think twice before even attempting to cheat.

If you are good at an fps then try a little experiment, save a demo of 100 games youve played and everytime you get a kill in the demo turn on xray and watch it back. Im certain out of the 100 games you'll find multiple scenarios where your gameplay looks suspicious with your crosshair perfectly landing on someone through a wall before you kill them

Man i get that. I am not very good at fps but sometimes i am really lucky and catch people out of position. I also sometimes blind fire into smoke because even i know some of the spots people will be at and sometimes i kill someone with a headshot through smoke.

There were always a lot of cheaters, but the mid-late 00s saw a massive fricking boom in cheating thanks to the advent of cheat suites as a business. Monthly subscriptions and payment plans and "Undetectable, Guaranteed!" Now almost any online game will have paid cheats on day one with at least 10-20% of players using some cheat they didn't make themselves.

I hacked CS for years, 1.6 throughout Source. Every competitive players is or has hacked. It's the only way to truly become 'good' at the game when you play legit. You get very good map/angle knowledge that is a bit different from the legit route. All the big streamers that are 'good' at any game use cheats. They clearly use private and/or hardware cheats, so they'll never be detected by the meme-tier 'anti-cheats' these games have. Shroud is a painfully obvious example, just as Zlaner. Dr Disrespect is probably the only one that DOESN'T use cheats, but he doesn't have to, as his selling point as a streamer is the character he plays, not his gaming skill (even if he is pretty decent). He definitely knows that Zlaner hacks, though.
If the streamers are pro players then they are just that good since they play at events without their own hardware.

I was playing Apex pubs with a friend a few days ago and virtually every second match we ran into cheaters. It's different when it's banned from online play in a small handful of games vs getting access to your entire game library revoked. About the only way valve can get away with doing that is in situations of fraud.

Outside of the servers doing a fog of war calculation on their end to prevent the clients from seeing others, there's not much you can do. Hardware cheats exist.
You can monitor the game packets between the the host PC and the router. You can read memory via hardware. You can pass the display output through image recognition. It is physically impossible to prevent cheating.

If a player suspects another of cheating you can tell the match making server "No i don't want to play with these players named on this local list file" and the game says "Ok" with no further judgement on the named players.

Nah, I think you're projecting. I actually have been in those situations. I would constantly get banned from community servers for "cheating". Then when I finally found some where I didn't get banned, the admins would give a pass to actual cheaters and I had to leave those.
